"Artú recently lost its 25-year-old Beacon Hill location to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the original in the North End is going strong, and it’s a solid choice for lunch, especially the chicken parmesan panino. It’s a little different than most sandwiches on this list in that it’s not served on a sub roll, but it’s just as delicious. Artú is open for takeout and delivery." - Terrence Doyle

"There are a lot of decent but over-hyped places on Hanover that aren’t worth fighting the crowds for. This is especially the case when you could be eating at Artu, where you can pretty much always get a table as a walk-in. The traditional red sauce menu isn’t particularly exciting, but much of the pasta is homemade and it gets the job done." - Dan Secatore

We were recommended this place by a gentleman we met at carmelinas. So glad we stopped by. We came in last week during the Fisherman’s Feast, so it was incredibly dead inside but we didn’t mind cus we enjoyed having the place to ourselves. Ambiance is so/so. Food was so good that the other minuses didn’t really matter (but still does). We got the scallops appetizer - that left us fighting for the last bite because that’s how good it was. I got the tagliatelle bolognese- I’ve had better buttttttt it was still delicious!! My bf got the veal parm - not rubbery, not over cooked, just right. As you can imagine, that too was all gone. I got a glass of NZ SB, can’t remember the name but it was crispy, lots of bright fruit with a little bit of a longer finish. Paired perfectly with the scallops. Service - wasn’t bad, she knew when to be there and when not to be. The only issue I have is awareness for the busser. As I mentioned, we were the only table in there so banging plates to set up an empty restaurant made us feel little uncomfortable. All in all, ARTU’s was a 9/10.

Charlie our server was phenomenal! Best service I’ve ever experienced in the North End. He was knowledgeable and had great recommendations. Food was delicious! Over a year we tried around 40 espresso martinis in the North End, we ranked this one #2! Would’ve been #1 but they don’t add 3 beans. Highly recommend!

Great service at the bar. The chicken Marsala was great. The spaghetti bowl was good too. The sauce is fantastic. Large portion of sangria too.

I got to Boston late one night around 10:30pm. I was very hungry and started exploring what kitchens were still open. Decided to take a walk on Hanover Street. Around 11pm took a right on Prince Street and opened the door to Artu. There was no one there except a couple of people behind the bar that alerted me that the kitchen was still open. I had a very low expectation of what I was about to consume. To my surprise the food was phenomenal! I ordered a caprese salad that had super fresh mozzarella and tasty tomatoes. Short Rib ravioli was right after as a main course, and also amazing! As I was finishing my meal, Artu filled up with patrons looking to grab a drink and a late night snack. I was glad that spontaneity and a little luck landed me at Artu! Great place with awesome food. Update 12/21/2023 Brought my two older sons here. Just as awesome as the first time!!!🥇

Google
The restaurant is like a tunnel with only one window. Service was terrible. The waiter was not friendly or nice. The vibe was depressing. The food took over 30 minutes to arrive even though the place was half dead, and looked like it was from the kids menu (see pic). Taste was sub-par. We ordered wine by the glass because they wouldn’t sell us a bottle and they only brought us 2 ounces. By far the worst experience in Boston

Google
Food here was spectacular as were their drinks. Our waiter was also very nice. Would recommend!

Google
Great Italian food here! I was very content with my meal and so was the rest of my family. Although it wasn’t anything crazy special, I enjoyed my short rib ravioli. Our salad unfortunately was way too doused in dressing. As per the service though, they were great at refilling our waters, but it would have been nice if they had offered grated cheese on our entrees. Besides those small complaints, I was very happy and definitely recommend this place to try!

What an evening. We had reservations for 4 pm this Christmas Eve. We walked by Artu at 3:45 and could not get in. We peered thru the window at the bar. Walked a few steps up the street to see if there was another door. Nope. Walked back down and low and behold, our beloved bartender (from 4 years ago and 20 miles away noticed us peering in the first time) and came running to the door to say hello! This was the beginning of our enchanted evening at Artu. He welcomed us back at 4 and it was magic from that moment on. THE best drinks in Boston. What a great young man. Then we had the pleasure of having Ryan take our orders. Well, I wish I could give 10 stars to Artu. Drinks, service, meal, ambiance....10 Stars. Could not have had a better experience. Picture perfect. Will be back if not only for dinner, but for the best Martini in Boston. Brian has not lost his touch and service to his customers. If you are reading this, please disregard all the above, because now I will not be able to get a reservation again! :) Danny O'Brien

Yelp
In my opinion it was pretty good food. The wait time was decent, about an hour. My complaint is the loudness of the restaurant as it's small so the conversations tend to be louder. It was still a great visit. I recommend the calamari and the pollo parmigiana.

MiracleScience L.

Yelp
Really appreciate how they are still open at 10pm!! Overall, WAYYYY too much salt. I ordered the salmon, and the mashed potatoes were just a bite of sodium. There was a nice crust on the salmon itself though. The lasagna was unevenly seasoned, and also too salty.

Yelp
I came here based on a local friend's recommendation, but unfortunately, I left pretty unimpressed. What struck me first was how difficult it was to navigate with a small child and stroller, despite the recommendation being made with that in mind. Entering through the bar was chaotic, with a crowd of people standing in the walkway, making it unclear where to go to be seated. I constantly felt in the way, juggling a diaper bag, baby and stroller in such a cramped setup. We started with the meatballs, which unfortunately had an odd acidic, almost bile-like aftertaste that was hard to overlook. Hoping to improve our experience, we asked for some bread after seeing it on other tables, but when it arrived, it was cold and tasted stale and old - definitely not what we'd hoped for. Next, we tried the clams casino special. It arrived quite late into our meal, and sadly, it didn't make up for the wait. It lacked seasoning and flavor, with bland breadcrumbs being the dominant taste. For our mains, we ordered the penne puttanesca and the fusilli with sausage and broccoli rabe. The penne puttanesca was disappointing - it was severely lacking in olives and capers and had that same off-putting aftertaste as the meatballs. The fusilli, on the other hand, was decent but nothing that really stood out or wowed us. Our server was friendly but not particularly prompt, which added to the overall lackluster experience. Unfortunately, I wouldn't say this visit lived up to the recommendation or our expectations and I think I know why I was able to get a reservation so easily when every other restaurant nearby was booked.

Yelp
Went to dinner on a Saturday evening with friends. There were three of us and we all got pasta dishes. There was a slight error with our order and the food came out very late. Our waiter was quick to offer dessert to make sure we were happy which was nice. Not all the pasta was homemade, but the manicotti was. Overall it was good vegetarian food, there was a nice filling and they hand cranked the Parmesan cheese. The bread that came out prior to the meal was good. It wasn't the best Italian I've ever had but it was solid.

Yelp
I've lived in Boston for years and always visit the same North End spots. I wanted to try something different and heard good things about Artu and i'm so happy with my choice! If you ask, they will make the chicken parm with vodka sauce and it's the BEST thing ever! Could not recommend it enough. Everyone else in my group also really enjoyed their meals. Will definitely be back.

Jamie D.

Yelp
scampi dish. $28 , it's only shrimp noodles& sauce; could have been dressed more (spinach, tomatoes) I had to add parm, hot pepper flakes! Grilled country bread and sangria , gr8

Kristin D.

Yelp
My fiancé and I came here hoping to try something new in the North End. We were completely disappointed with this place. The Burrata came with two tiny slices of toast (??) and the service felt very rushed. The fusilli was supposed to be a pesto pasta, and as you can tell was served to look more Like a soup. When we told the server we were not pleased with our meal (which we have honestly never done before) , we were just told it's everyone's favorite. I wish I had something to recommend but honestly nothing we tried was worthy of a recommendation.

Yelp
Wholy garlic balls Batman! This place is better than most places in Italia! I wanted to eat here again this week but the powers that be kept me away. Ill be back and trying everything! Dont know the name if what i got but show the Garson the picture and you'll be set! (Garson means boy)

Caroline H.

Yelp
Great service at the bar. The chicken Marsala was great. The spaghetti bowl was good too. The sauce is fantastic. Large portion of sangria too.

Dede C.

Yelp
We sat at the bar for dinner and drinks. The bartender was attentive but the food was just okay. I ordered the shrimp scampi and it came out lukewarm warm- definitely not hot. They did have a nice container of mozzarella cheese you could sprinkle on your food, but you needed that and the pepper to get a little flavor. Pasta was a bit on the dry side and really just didn't have that Italian flavorful zing. My husband ordered Margareta Pizza which was good. Again not great- just good. Didn't seem like the ingredients were as fresh as they could be. The manager spent his time hanging out at the end of the bar and looking down the bar but didn't really do anything to help the bartender who was pregnant and running all over the place.

Mark J.

Yelp
Not sure about the reviews... I admit to being a bit snobby about food/restaurants (25 years in the biz) Been going here for close to 2 decades when in Boston. There is space between tables! They don't rush you out like so many. The eggplant parm is superior... fusilli with rabi and sausage is also a 10.

Curtis E.

Yelp
been a while and was always good until Sunday. Caesers had a strange flavor, was 85% stems and quite small for 12 bucks. Its North End, I get it but wow. Carbonara: disaster- undercooked pasta with very little and low flavor sauce- far and away from what one expects from Carbonara. I was upon to this version, but then another one was made, and instead of sauce, there was a half cup of bland broth of some sort. Total fail. Tucci would have been aghast. Likley never returning with so many other places that are reliable and I could have stayed home and cooked far superior carbonara

Lucie B.

Yelp
Artu is a cute Italian restaurant and bar. Very vibrant and a nice vibe. But, the food is not that good. We had the bruschetta app. and though it had great ingredients, it was lacking in flavor. Plus, the beans seemed a little hard and the greens slightly undercooked. The five of us had different meals, ranging from a shrimp dish to an eggplant dish. I had an eggplant dish which sounded great. But the sauce was very bland. Had a tomato paste taste. And the thin slices of cheese it came with never melted to integrate with the dish. My husband had eggplant parmigiana, which he said melted in his mouth. To my taste it was overdone and mushy. Neither of us thought the sauce was very tasty. The other dishes were ok, but bland. Overall very underwhelming. Such a nice restaurant - they need either a new chef or they need to revamp their recipes.

Yelp
Don't go! To start, the waiter came over and threw a small basket of bread on the table ( there was 5 of us) _ no butter or oil for dipping. When I asked for both he seemed annoyed. We ordered fried calamari, very rubbery with literally 2 tablespoons of bland sauce, lobster arancinni which just had red speckles in them no lobster to be found, again with a tiny bit of sauce, mussels which were good and really dry tasteless mushroom bruschetta. So far so bad, Server was HORRIBLE and rude. We had to ask for grated cheese, salt pepper additional bread and butter etc, plus cutlery for our entrees. He actually scowled, muttered under his breath and threw the stuff on the table. Oh God I can go on and on but you get the idea. Entees were just as dry and tasteless. What is with these people they don't want to give you sauce? Do yourself a favor and stay clear of this abysmal experience!

Calandra B.

Yelp
Food was bland, and unimpressive. Ambiance was BORING!!! It had a funny smell when we arrived. (Should have turned around right then and went somewhere else). But, decided to give it a chance. Feel like u wasted $150 and a restaurant experience. Do not recommend. Ordered- Shrimp scampi (SO bland)!!! Tasted like plain noodles. Fruti Di Mare (okay, but no major flavor, just a little bit of spice to give it at least something) also the calamari was chewy and overcooked Short rib ravioli was bland. Looked like it was dirty water for the sauce. The entire dish was flavorless, meat, and everything. So disappointing!

Yelp
I have lived in the North End for 20 years. I have eaten in most of the higher-end restaurants and some of the median restaurants. Artu is one of my three favorites. However, I am disappointed that they are no longer open for lunch. The food is exquisite and I adore the pork and eggplant sandwich which is only available at the bar or for takeout.

Abigail S.

Yelp
I really loved Artú! The veal was delicious, loved their espresso martini, and really liked the Caesar. They have a lot of dessert there. It's really cute inside! Definitely order something with vodka sauce. Great service too, waiter was so kind and helpful with recommendations!

Richard C.

Yelp
Okay but not great. Had Spaghetti and Meatballs while others had seafood with pasta.

Tamiko D.

Yelp
What a gem. If you were looking for a place for a group dinner or a romantic night out this is the place for you. I was here last week with my team after a work event. It was 13 of us in total the food was amazing. I could not get a picture of the appetizers that we ordered because they devoured it. If memory serves me correctly I think it was the fried calamari. Grilled octopus and the meatballs. For dinner. I had the lasagna it was bursting with flavor my Stacia had something green with broccoli and she loved it. Rusty had shrimp, clams, calamari, and mussels, and Erik had the chicken Parm. I personally have never seen a chicken Parmesan with gnocchi, but looked amazing and he thoroughly enjoyed it. Overall I give the restaurant a 10/10. Our bill was about$650 including gratuity. Check it out and tell me what you think.

Anne C.

Yelp
The food was exceptionally good along with the service. The Sangria was also really good. will definitely go there again!

Rene R.

Yelp
Highly recommend the eggplant rollatini. Food is superb! Service is good. Photo speaks for itself.

Tom B.

Yelp
Artu is usually my first choice when dining out in the north end The food is spectacular. The service is exceptional. I have been going there since they opened over 30 years ago and have never had a bad meal.

Bella G.

Yelp
Tell your bartenders if they are going to ask for their IDs to be recheck to do it more discreetly Thank you!!!!!

Annie D.

Yelp
Obviously I forgot to take a picture before I started eating but this place was great! We got bread and butter which is always a plus and the service was great. I ordered the carbonara and it was delicious!

Tess C.

Yelp
After a long day we were looking for a late dinner (being on West Coast time). Artu fit the bill as it was recommended by another restaurant we called in the North End that was closed at the time. You walk into the charming front bar and it was bustling on a Sunday night at 11 pm. We went into the back dining room which was quiet at that hour. Our server Bryan was so pleasant and gave great menu suggestions. We had excellent calamari and the meatball appetizer was also good. The fusilli with sausage and broccoli rabe was fantastic with a little spice and garlic flavoring the generous amounts of sausage and rabe. Not greasy at all. The fettuccine Norcina also had generous amount of sausage and the cream sauce was light and not to heavy with cheese. The taste of the tagliatelle bolognese was on point with the red wine infused meat sauce perfectly balanced. The house chianti was a perfect accompaniment. All in all a great find for us and we will definitely be back when we are visiting family again. The team effort gets points too as we were immediately greated when we went to be seated and the food runner was also nice and refilled our drinks making sure we were okay (versus how some drop the food and run).

Jane B.

Yelp
Excellent food and service! They know how to do it all right... The food is amazing and so is the feel... lighting/music choices @ Bryan

Alex H.

Yelp
My first time there. My food was great, I got the shrimp scampi. Good ingredients. My sister got the lasagna and was very confused. There was bits of cooked egg inside the layers of the pasta, which she could taste. She ate a few bites and didn't have any more. My parents were satisfied, though. I'm glad I went, but I don think I'd go again with companions.

Bridget N.

Yelp
Appetizer was lobster arancini tasted more like a frozen buffalo chicken arancini, the 2 entrees short rib ravioli with mushrooms, and lobster and shrimp with pasta were bland and had barely any, if any sauce. Lacked any taste or savoriness. The best part of the meal was the dessert. Tiramisu and lemon sorbet were excellent. i would not go back again.

Cassie C.

Yelp
Artu-A-Must-Do..... What a great place on the North End! Service with a smile. We tried the signature cocktails....they were all a hit. Then we started with the calamari and seared scallops. Definitely delicious. Our meal was outstanding. We had the gnocchi with meatballs and veal Bracciolettine. Highly recommend!

Matthew P.

Yelp
The Cabin Fever rye seasonal cocktail was amazing. The pasta was good too. The atmosphere felt much more modern than the other typical North End Italian restaurants nearby.

Cathy Y.

Yelp
DO NOT COME HERE. THIS PLACE IS SO GROSS!!!!! One cannot mess up pasta this badly but this place SOMEHOW DID. I think I could have made pasta better in my own kitchen. For a late night date night w the bf I ordered two pasta -- homemade tagillatelle and carbonera. The cabonera pasta was dry and had no flavor. The tagillatelle was all right, there wasn't that many spices.

Debbie H.

Yelp
The group I came with found the restaurant to be loud. I've visited Italy multiple times - this seemed like an authentic Italian restaurant to me. Part of the allure is the fact that they're loud. As some have mentioned, the entrance is a little bizarre and short of the small sign, we weren't sure we were in the right place. I'd made reservations and our table was available right on time. Our waiter was friendly and the food was served in a timely manner. Everything from the prime rib to salmon, from spaghetti and meatballs to chicken parm, was good. We were too stuffed to have dessert.

Meg C.

Yelp
Artu definitely feels like a more underrated spot in the North End. We showed up a little early for our reservation and they had our table ready to go. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. The food was phenomenal- I had a caesar salad, some bruschetta, and the gnocchi with meatballs. Others in my party had the ravioli, the veal, and the shrimp scampi and everyone had nothing but great things to say. They also have an affordable selection of wine bottles - the Malbec we selected was delicious. I'd definitely come back for dinner and maybe even just to grab some drinks at the bar.

Nicole F.

Yelp
If you live in the boston area, you know that GENERALLY, all restaurants in the north end serve some bomb ass italian food i.e., you cant go wrong. Well, we went wrong picking Artu. First, the entrance is so bizarre for a restaurant. There is no hostess table to check in at. You literally step off the street directly into the bar area which takes up the entire space such that youre left with this super narrow pathway that leads to the other end of the bar, to a sign that says "wait to be seated" Second, the service isnt good. The waiter, Lorenzo, had a slight attitude, seemed frustrated that we didnt know what we wanted as we sat down, had to be reminded to get the bread for the table and our 2nd bottle of wine, and other drinks. And it wasnt like he was at other tables where you could visibly see that he was busy, he was just absent. Honestly if we werent a party of 6 and if he wasnt guaranteed 20% gratuity, he would have gotten 10% out of courtesy and not because he any of earned it. Thrid, food. The 1 star is for the meatball appetizers and the grilled octopus & calamari These were soo dang good. The table thoroughly enjoyed these two dishes. The rest? Mediocre. The bread for the table was DRY and tough. They serve it with butter when all italian spots ive been too (in italy included) this would be an affront! It's always served with olive oil. We all ordered pasta dishes. I got the fettuccine norcine and it was so so. Too much cream and too little truffle flavors and it was def a let down. My bf is a saltimbocca fanatic and said his was not flavorful at all. My dads boolognese, mediocre; more sauce and not very meaty. The chicken parm; good but not exceptional. My moms short rib ravioli wasnt even cooked (see picture). Thats NOT al dente. Thats ALL RAW. At this point, I didnt care to even say anything, i had written this place off im my head. Wouldnt recommend for a full dinner. If you want an app and a drink, sure, maybe. But even then id recommend you go elsewhere. Its pretty darn noisy in this place too.

Ariston B.

Yelp
Ordered via Uber eats. The chicken parm is fine if you like sauceless noodles and don't really want much marinara. However; I asked for extra marinara sauce, and if this is extra (see picture), then I can't imagine what the standard sauce level is. If they just ignored the request, then that is a separate issue entirely. If I wanted chicken schnitzel covered in cheese, I'd have looked for a German restaurant, not Artu.

Marissa F.

Yelp
Juan ... you are truly Juan in a Million! After a birthday dinner in the Seaport; we were still hungry. Off to the North End. 11PM most restaurants are closed for food and we were directed by a sweet young lady at Francesca's to Artu. They sat us in the back, first there was a table of rowdy young crowd, Juan assured us they were just there for a drink and were leaving soon. YES, he was correct! Phew... we were so hungry! It was such a great atmosphere and we are so lucky to have found Artu and Juan. We had an amazing dinner (sister had the Veal Braciolettini) and I had the Veal/Eggplant Parmigiana. It was amazing. Pasta was homemade and delicious. We ending the evening with an awesome Espresso Martini and splitting of a cannoli, topped the night! Thank you Artu and thank you Juan. Can't wait to come back and see you again :)

Rebecca H.

Yelp
So I came here on a food tour, I did not have the classic dining experience so bear that in mind while digesting this review. The Boston food tour in which we participated was very heavy on the mama mia, Italian cuisine. This was actually the first stop so we were hungry and ready to shovel some carbs with seasoning into our pie holes. We were able to sample three of their pasta dishes: spaghetti amatriciana, penne putanesca, and gemelli with broccoli rabe (NOT on menu after thorough research). The gemelli with brocc was my FAVE. I love pasta seeping with oil with some wilted greens (nutritional value) and parm. The pasta was al dente and simmering. The penne putanesca was good, which isn't surprising given it is a BOMB sauce. I would say their version is slightly salty but definitely a good choice if you're here and in the mood for the tomatoy/olivey goodness. I didn't get a chance to sample the amatriciana because it had pork in it but everyone else in the group lost their shit going back for it repeatedly. The pasta at this place was good but I'm not sure how it matches up with other pasta joints in the area.

Emma C.

Yelp
cute little place right off the main street of the north end! easy to miss and kinda a confusing entrance but food and drinks were worth it. i got the bolognese and it was delicious and had the right amount of meat and tomato chunks. my husband got the cacio pepe and it was a little bland which is why i knocked off a star-- some red pepper flakes and parm helped a whole lot! the espresso martinis were perfectly frothy and had the signature three beans. will definitely go back!

Kristin ..

Yelp
While visiting Boston, we had to make a second trip to Little Italy. The food, atmosphere, and people make it so fun. After wandering around trying to find a place to eat that didn't have a crazy wait, we stumbled across Artu. To be honest, I was the most concerned and least interested in this place. Nothing on the menu stood out to me and they had terrible reviews on yelp compared to everything around us. The entryway makes this place look like a crowded nightmare. You walk in thru the bar area, which is very narrow and busy. It wasn't until the host waved to me in the back and I made my way thru that we realized that it was much larger and had ample dining space and not too loud. We started with an appetizer of calamari. The flavor was good but a bit over cooked. The sauce was more of a cocktail sauce, not bad but not what I'm used to with calamari. We ordered the Chicken Marsala, Penne Puttanesca, and the Fettuccine Norcina for our meals. The Puttanesca didn't come with any protein so he ordered a side of sausage. I didn't try the pasta but the sausage was delicious. The chicken Marsala didn't come with any sides, which would have been ok if it had said that. $19 seemed excessive for a chicken breast. It tasted heavenly though. I ordered the Norcina, which had ground pork and a mushroom cream sauce, with black truffle cheese. This dish exceeded all of my expectations. I would eat it once a week if I could. Overall, the current ratings do not do this place justice. The food was good and the service was exceptional.

Greg P.

Yelp
This place has lost it way and will be surprised if it is there in a few months. Our mussels were inedible and honestly I feared they were spoiled. Only bright spot was the attentive and friendly service. I will not going back. Can't recommend to others.

Austin B.

Yelp
Service and employee's are awful. I am 29 years old and have an Arizona ID and the bald male bartender wouldn't serve me because he's never seen an Arizona ID. I have never had a problem but for some reason this guy even had the nerve to laugh in my face. If you are from out of state or visiting Boston, I highly recommend NOT coming here, worst place in the north end.

Nick M.

Yelp
I'm usually not very picky but I was not thrilled with the food. A lot of what we ordered was lacking flavor, definitely expected more out of a north end restaurant. The food was genuinely mids. Super underwhelming and certainly not worth the price point in my opinion. Our server was great though and the place has a cool vibe. If you're just coming in for drinks then i would recommend, but if you are looking for great food go somewhere else.

George D.

Yelp
Ate here on 2 separate occasions and enjoyed it both times. On one visit, I was able to get a chicken and veal parm combo. It was way too much for one person but I ate it all anyway. I was stuffed but it was oh so good. The fresh bread they served was fantastico!! On another visit I order a pasta arribiata. It was the best arribiata sauce I have ever had. I am not sure they offer it any longer. Anyway, just the right amount of spice. Parking was a disaster . :-) If you have been to the North End before, you know what I mean. Pro Tip - take your time and walk around. A lot of history. Stop into the Old North Church to help walk off your meal.

Allie G.

Yelp
Artu is doing such an amazing job during COVID, I think they have the best outside seating in the whole North End! I love it, it's so charming and feeling like you're in Europe. Service is great and everyone is wearing their mask which obviously we really appreciate. We have been twice now during COVID and both times the food has been absolutely amazing. I got two very different things both times and both were so delicious. I recommend starting with the bruschetta (the vegetables they serve it with are so tender), the burratta , and the grilled bread with prosciutto is so so good. My favorite entrees are the spinach manicotti and the chicken parm! But you kind of can't go wrong. They also have a good cocktail list and the drinks are well made.

Bruce K.

Yelp
Another excellent Italian meal in Boston's North End, Artu is closer to traditional Italian though leaning towards higher end. The restaurant is very lovely with polished wooden tables, classy decoration and well dressed wait staff. Definitely date worthy. Working dinner with a colleague, I booked ahead on Open Table and arrived right on time. We were immediately brought to our table and seated. For starters, we got the "Country Bread" which is interesting. A thick slice of peasant bread topped with a slice of tomato, a slice of prosciutto and a slice of smoked mozzarella cheese with a shredded basil garnish. Roasted under the broiler, the tastes definitely come together nicely. Only complaint was that the slice of tomato did have some core to it. Main course, I had the Fettucine Norcina. A good portion of pasta in a light cream sauce with truffle and shredded pork sausage. Very delicious and enjoyable. Good service and a delightful meal. I can see getting back to Artu.

Lisa P.

Yelp
Ordered take out because outdoor seating is scarce in the north end. We ordered manicotti and a Caesar salad. When we arrived to pick it up the bartender was very rude. He took his sweet time giving me my order which was sitting on the counter. The order was packed together in a plastic bag. Cold salad on top of hot pasta so that the salad was now a hot salad. The portions were super tiny. About half of what they serve in the restaurant. At the full price! Never again Artu.

Yelp
Great food except for the bread! It's cold and not crispy and you have to ask for the olive oil. Great service and ambiance. Definitely recommend the food !

Yelp
Eh. This place is eh. If youre getting dinner in the north end just go anywhere else. The food is pedestrian, the martinis were bland and the service was rushing patrons to flip tables We went on Valentines day and not only do we both feel queesy the morning after but we were told we needed to order apps and entrees all at once...like really? On valentines day? All we were really looking for was a nice table to sit at on valentines day and enjoy each others company, what we got was the most (and only) mediocre north end dining experience in a place that felt like they couldnt get rid of us fast enough. I think Artu is a fine bar but if you're looking for that classic North End Dining experience, just walk around the corner

Yelp
This little gem in North End is the only one that has a Rotisserie Chicken. It had the most awesome taste alongside with red potatoes. My wife had the Lasagna with a meat sauce and eggplant and my son had the shrimp scampi which had large prawns with a great taste. The bruschettas with the white beans were flavorful and unique. Overall an amazing experience and recommend you give them a well deserved visit. Highly recommend this Rosticeria & Trattoria.
