Amazing, amazing, amazing !!! Cute little spot downtown. You do have to wait outside but it's so absolutely worth it. Mocha is good and strong. Pictured is the Alamo Benedict. (Veggie Benedict in the background) So so flavorful. Potatoes were cooked to absolute perfection. Big portions! Our server Jay was so nice and attentive. Always came by at the perfect moment. A wonderful experience can't wait to go back.

When you’re in Austin, Texas, and you want to get a great local breakfast in a very eclectic café. This is the place for you. The staff greeted me as soon as I walked in super warm and super friendly. The layout of the location is really unique and interesting, I got the Huevos rancheros and it was fantastic, the green side sauce is spicy so be careful but I love the spice. This is a casual location to have breakfast, very mellow and unique.

Highly recommend this brunch spot on downtown Austin. It's pretty small so you may have to wait but you also NEED your whole party before you can be seated. They also have mimosas if you need. Food was very tasty and service was great! There's a parking lot next to it but it's kind of expensive so I recommend street parking. They also have speciality coffee as well for my coffee fanatics.

Get the Thai chicken sandwich you won't be disappointed. Go at 11 am to beat the lunchtime rush at 12 pm. Everyone from the state capitol eats there so get there early before the crowd. Also that Texas pecan flavored coffee, that's the best, Jessie will probably fill it with a fresh pot if you ask for it, always the best service staff

Waited in line for about 30 minutes on a cold windy afternoon well after lunch so that tells you how good it is. Was not disappointed! Space is ecclectic, tiny, and cozy. Loved the intimate lighting and fun decor and didn't mind at all the tight space because it just fit with the whole experience. Loved the little side bar on the wall too. Our server was awesome and fast and the food was incredible. Maybe the best BLT I ever had. Everyone had something different and it was all excellent. Went away full and happy. If you want a good breakfast we highly recommend. Everything was good! We ordered the Arturo plate, Papas Ranchero taco, The Worx taco and a cowboy cookie to go. Zero complaints. The only thing I didn’t eat was my potatoes and that is because I was full. Would love to come back for lunch. Breakfast was A+.

Been here a few times now and it is excellent every time! We love the Scrambles, the Benedict’s and the Migas. The French toast is great as well. Honestly everything we’ve had here was great. The line outside tends to move quickly. They have underground and some outside seating which has a very cozy vibe. Staff is always friendly and attentive. The perfect go-to breakfast/brunch option in this area.

Cozy small hidden breakfast spot a quick walk away from campus. Stopped in during a visit to see the longhorns game. We were not disappointed. You have to wait outside of the door until there's tables available The wait wasn't too bad if you choose to sit inside the tables are down a flight of stairs literally underground service is quick and friendly. We tried some of those scrambles and some of their signature plates and also the French toast which I highly recommend.

super cute and cool place! its a little cramped but the workers know their way around and will give you space, lol. food was fantastic!! i got the pulled pork sandwich thing and i'm going to be thinking about it forever. also--if you ask for hot sauce they give you what i assume to be a house blend and its FANTASTIC *if you like vinegary sauces!! all in all, what a great place to end my experience in austin with!! if you're attending UT, take the walk here. it's worth it!

Good place! Enjoyed our food. Very hip with good music and coffee. Lot of stairs and kind of tight to get by, but all in all it was good.

LOVE LOVE LOVE the VIBE the speakeasy basement, dark walls, couple booths, some tables. You order as soon as you walk in to the small entry area where friendly man in a wifebeater tie dye t shirt takes your order on a small paper notepad no fancy electronics here~ ALAS the food was mediocre at BEST and it doesn't make me happy to say this.....we were there on a Tuesday am, I don't know IF a different cook than on the weekends as those reviews are certainly from different place than where we were. The breakfast sandwich was just OK, the whole wheat bread was toasted, but it was not hot, served cool ~ after the delicious sounding reviews I expected more also one reviewer commented the potatoes were an afterthought, he was right atleast on this day. My husband ordered the "Taterscape" again nothing special as the potatoes on my dish were "meh" so this dish was doomed from the start the crema & hot sauce on top couldn't save it. DANG IT, as I mentioned I REALLY wanted to love this place, we were glad we didn't wait for hours for this experience

A hidden breakfast spot in an uncommon area of downtown, offers a modern and eclectic vibe to enjoy a meal. While a line may seem intimidating, staff does a good job to keep things moving in a similar fashion to a diner. Need not to be concerned, the line does move quickly! Highly recommend the hibiscus mint iced tea, especially on a hot day. Coffees are also diner style, small mugs, but unlimited pours. Breakfast foods are the focus here - with Scrambles and Benedicts being the primary choice. A variety of hollandaise sauces are unique to the, otherwise, original breakfast dishes that you'd in a quick-serving setting. The bacon was nice and crispy too! Potatoes for sure weren't the star of the plate. Maybe a suggestion to explore a hash? Or shredded potatoes?

Pain to find parking. Street parking or garage parking across the big fancy government building. No restaurant parking. Had the peace taco and French toast. Loved the peace taco -had to order to go. No WiFi Interior is dark and smells like wet wood. Staff is so sweet. Decor looks great. Would come back during the weekend for brunch menu .

I wanted to try a new spit that had good breakfast/brunch and this place popped up. When you first check in they give an estimate of how long your wait will be and it was about 40min and because it was cold they said we could wait at the hilton hotel across the street which was very considerate. We went to park the vehicle in the Lot E parking garage 2nd level & up is free. (don't park in a reserve spot.) Once we parked we went to the hotel to wait for our call. Once they call you, you walk over and let them know your party was called. Then they seat you downstairs. This is a quaint little cafe spot with limited seating but the staff foes a great job taking care of everyone and with the time the food comes out. This place carries a cozy dim light type of vibe. I like it. Almost homey. I had the Caribbean Toast (yum!) and hubby had the Diablo scramble. He pretty much licked his plate clean and my toast was so delicious and wasn't too sweet. It had pecans and fried bananas on it. Love it. A good amount of toast comes on the plate, so if you're not a big eater and don't like leftovers get the half order. I definitely recommend this place and I will be returning for more. you're greeted with a smile and cheer no matter how hectic they are when you walk in.

So tiny you need to wait for a table outside in the December wind. But we waited--not too long, cuz we got there early--and when we left many other people were waiting their turn. One can see why. Just descending the stairs to the underground little rooms, dark, and with interesting paintings on the walls, makes you feel like you're going to have a special experience. And we did. The servers are all impossibly friendly and attractive, in a kind of funky Austin way. The weekend brunch menu, while it has some classic brunch dishes, has its own special twists, and is just a little bit sassy--for example, in refusing to modify their carefully crafted Benedict dishes. On this cold morning, my friend oohed and ahhed over her mocha latte, which did look really good. She ordered the Mad Scramble, which was so tasty that she nearly scarfed it down before I had time to get a picture. I ordered a BLT. It was one of the best I've ever had--nice thick crispy slices of bacon, just enough tomato, (even though it wasn't especially ripe), some kind of spicy mayo, gorgeous green lettuce, all on amazing grilled jalapeño cheese bread. The chips and pickle were a nice touch as well. Apparently they don't like splitting tabs, so that was a little bit of a hassle. But for food like this--in such a cool little dark underground place--I can put up with a little bit of hassle. Besides, there are about a dozen other things on the menu that I want to try.

Breakfast fiesta! We loved our breakfast here. It's a wonderful hole in the wall restaurant that has a line on Sunday morning. You know it's amazing! We went after religious services and were in line by 9:45 so seated quickly. They open at 10. I loved my eggs benedict with avocados and bacon. Yummy potatoes were the perfect combo of salty and savory!! They have scrumptious pancakes with bananas too. Sort of a rum flavor too. Another person loves the pesto grilled cheese! Loved the food and the wild artwork decorations! Excellent service!! We parked and walked because parking is street in the downtown area.

Always amazing food and service. Fun kitschy ambience. Definitely a hidden gem and we will surely be back again.

Arturo's is an Austin classic. I've been going to Arturo's for 15 years either for a breakfast taco (Migas or Peace spinach and egg) or quesadilla (chicken chipotle). They have sandwiches ands salads too. Very good grill cheese. The atmosphere is sublime. Staff friendly and fun. Food comes out quick. Dennis is the best!

If we lived here, we would be here all of the time! From the moment we walked in, I knew we had chosen well. Arturo's is a friendly, cool little place with the best brunch we have had in a long time. Service was 100% fantastic. My Travis egg's Benedict was delicious and my husband gave the Chinati egg's Benedict a 10! The hollandaise is smooth and buttery. My pineapple mimosa tied it all together perfectly. We will be back!!! Thank you to the staff for making this the perfect Austin brunch experience!

Came here for a lunch in between classes and it's such a cool spot. It's actually underground (surprising I know) and has an intimate, dark academia aesthetic. I had the Thai chicken sandwich which was tasty with tender chicken and veggie slaw that resemble banh mi. Utensils, water, and to go boxes are available for self serve which is convenient but they do come by and bus the table for you. I'll definitely stop by for another lunch.

IMPRESSION · Migas = think cut up fried tortillas with scrambled eggs frying together. How could you not like that. I loved this. But, I don't like it when it's made poorly. I'm going to give this a 3.5 and round up.

Walked in and the guy refused to sit us inside with our service dog. We clarified that he was a service dog and thus federally protected and he said it didn't matter. Gross discrimination of a federally protected class. Will never spend a dime here. Owner might want to look into service dog rights and the outrageous fines that come with refusing them service.

Went here for Sunday brunch while we visited Austin and loved it ! We got the Diablo, Chinati eggs Benedict and I will be dreaming about the Caribbean French toast. We got there Sunday morning around 10:30AM and got seated right away. Service was speedy and super friendly! Would recommend getting there as early as you can if you are in a larger group, we left around noon and there was a line out the door. Will be back next time we are in town.

Arturo's was recommended to us by the front desk worker at our hotel. It was literally right across the street, so it was super convenient. The person that took our order isn't going to be winning any awards for outstanding personality anytime soon, but they were cordial and professional. We ordered the grilled cheese and chicken Caesar salad. Both were delicious! We didn't try anything else on the menu, so I can't say for sure, but I don't think you'd be disappointed eating here.

Fun hang, and really good breakfast and coffee... I highly recommend it! The breakfast sandwiches are a work of art

Arturo's only has brunch on the weekends, and I finally got to try this famous Austin brunch spot on a Sunday afternoon. The wait was not very long as the line moved quite fast. Their service was amazing in our experience. Our drinks and orders were done very quickly. I had the Diablo, and my friend had the French toast with bacon. The Diablo was deliciously savoury and filling. The portion size was large, but I finished it easily. I found free street parking (Sunday) extremely close to the restaurant, and there were no other cars parked there, much to my surprise.

The best! You've got to go! Anything you order will be delicious and you will feel like a cooler version of yourself just by being there!

Arturo's Underground Cafe is a gem. It carries the Austin vibe with an eclectic indoor funky vibe while serving up fantastic food and coffee. If you are in one of the dozens of nearby hotels, it will make your life better to make the walk here. From the menu I had the Migas and my wife had the Huevos rancheros. The unsung hero were the tortillas which come from a local store that makes them fresh daily. These tortillas had just the right chew and softness and grilled heating. This little side item which comes with most meals really added something special to our experience. There is no parking lot, but there seemed to be street parking all around. While they build the new high rise apartments across the street, it's probably best to eat in the decently large seating inside. On the flip side if you like a hint of concrete dust on your eggs, you will be in luck. Everything was great about Arturo's and I hope they and all the other local joints can survive the bougie gentrification of downtown Austin. I will do my part when I'm in town for sure.

A friend of mine who lived in Austin for a few years mourns the lack of authentic breakfast tacos in Columbus, Ohio. This was a great introduction to them. This was about a third of a mile from our hotel and was a fairly easy walk from 13th. There is construction happening on one side the street so I wouldn't recommend eating outside. The noises, view, and possibility of falling debris could downgrade the experience. At 8am on a Wednesday they weren't really busy but there were a few people who stopped in for food to go. The person who took our order was friendly. My friend got the Huevos Rancheros and I got The Work Breakfast Taco. My friend said her food was good. I understand what my former Austin resident friend meant about breakfast tacos! 1. The flour tortilla is freshly made and between the size of a taco truck corn tortilla and a burrito-sized tortilla. 2. The filling is fairly evenly distributed. 3. The filling contains soft, medium, and hard textures which doesn't make it boring. The decor has plenty to look at between the paintings, mismatched hanging lights, wallpaper, and murals. I would definitely go again.

Stopped here for a quick lunch. Nice little spot with outside and inside seating. Place your order and take a seat, they bring food to your table. Sandwiches, salads, and quesadillas on the menu for lunch. We had a chipotle chicken quesadilla, pesto chicken sandwich, and sesame chicken quesadilla. All food was excellent! Would definitely like to try some of their other menu items, especially breakfast! Staff was very friendly and would recommend if looking for a breakfast or lunch spot!

I would come back here again and again! Everything about this cafe was great. We went for brunch on a Saturday morning as the first restaurant we visited in Austin. I LOVE the vibe! It's exactly what I pictured when I thought of Austin. That eclectic hipster Texan type of feel. The wait staff was amazing and so helpful, even answering questions about what to do to get the real Austin feel. I ordered the Austin Benedict, which included bacon, avocado, and chipotle hollandaise in addition to the usual ingredients. Super yummy! My boyfriend also loved his dish, the Diablo, and ended up buying a loaf of their fresh baked bread because he liked it so much. Their lattes were also great! Very balanced. Definitely recommend this place!

This was a long wait on a Sunday afternoon, but it was definitely worth it! I tried the El Diablo and almost everything on it was perfect. The only complaint for me was the potato, which was kind of bland and unnecessary. We were also 8 people, and they were very accommodating even though they were busy. The inside of the restaurant is, as the name describes, an underground style cafe with nice decor, but I would definitely think sitting outside on the picnic tables would be amazing as long as the Texas weather gods are on your side. Definitely recommend, although keep in mind it will be in the range of 25$ per person (for meal, drink, tax...) which is not bad for a brunch style cafe.

What a great weekend brunch spot!!! Parking is limited but around the corner is plenty of street parking. Inside is small so expect a line, moves very quick-most times around 20 minutes. Owner almost always is the greeter and super nice! Food is OUTSTANDING!!! The Caribbean French Toast is crazy good, get a half order for the table and thank me later! Enjoy!

Service was increíble, walked up and was seated immediately, they gave me the wrong coffee but fixed it without me even mentioning it, food was so fast!! And so delish and fresh. 10/10 will be visiting again. Great vibes from all employees!

Me and my partner stayed across the street and went over to Arturo's at 10 am with our two small dogs , they serve a brunch menu on weekends if you haven't been , and there was a good line waiting for them to open the doors , once they did . Everyone was seated fast , and we sat outside with our puppies . Service started off excellently , I had an amazing Michelada, my partner had the mimosa , both were perfect , I ended up haveing another round , there were several items I will certainly return sometime I'm back in town to try , but the Chinati eggs Benedict rocked my world , my partner is a vegetarian , she loved the Migas , and we shared the Caribbean French toast that had pecans and grilled bananas ... left full and completely satisified , all the staff we encountered were friendly and helpful. We never even went inside , maybe next time , If you've never been , I'd recommend it , The weekly menus looked awesome too,,, wish I had an option like this close to our home . It was fairly priced for the atmosphere as well!

Came here on Sunday for brunch with a few friends. We got there at 11:15am, and there was a line outside of the restaurant. The line moved pretty fast, and we were seated by 11:30am. It is a small and cute restaurant. Our server is very friendly. We ordered 2 cups of break blend coffee, and a cup of cappuccino. We got the coffee pretty quickly, but the cappuccino did not get to us until 20 min later. I also found out that they don't have breakfast tacos on weekends. I felt a bit sad as everyone told me that I have to have breakfast taco in Texas. I ordered chorizo scramble instead. The menu mentioned the the food has to made now it was designed and cannot be personalized (I wish that I can request for no spicy as I cannot eat spicy). The food got to our table 30 mins after we placed the order. My chorizo scramble was very tasty, except that it is a bit too spicy for me. I spent time picking out the green pepper and jalapeño out. The chorizo is very flavorful, and not oily. I might return to try their breakfast taco when I am in town again.

Was in town for a conference and was staying across the street. We happened upon Arturo's for breakfast, and there were already people waiting to get in. We knew then it was going to be awesome. Got the Taterscape and it was incredible. So flavorful, everything cooked perfectly and the best Pico I've ever had. Vanilla latte was great as well. Was with a group of 7 and everyone loved what they had. Can't wait to come back to the area and go back.

Visited Arturo's for take out. It did take some time to get the order so if you're assuming it'll be a quick in and out - it is not. Ordered: papas rancheras taco, peace taco, hangos taco, migas taco, deluxe egg sandwich, and red salsas/green sauce for breakfast. The food wasn't bad, the sauces helped to elevate the flavors. The sandwich was okay just your basic average egg sandwich. Can't comment much on ambiance given this was a takeout order, but will say the food was packaged well. The green sauce is really good - recommend getting and appreciate the staff for suggesting to get it!

Cute little Tex-Mex joint near the Capitol. Limited menu, but what they serve is really good. Loving the prevalence of bacon on the menu. Chicken Bacon Jalapeño Quesadilla: Wow, a really great Tex-Mex quesadilla. The bacon is a nice technique for livening up the chicken and cheese. However, the chicken itself was nicely cooked, browned a bit, with nice flavor. Think they might have used yummy thigh meat. But what really seals the deal is the chipotle ranch dip on the side. Key to making it more memorable than most other quesadillas. Chicken Bacon Caesar: It's a salad, yes, but it's covered in bacon and chicken! Plus there's tons of casesar dressing on the side. And two garlic toasts. So it's much more tasty than regular salads. Sweet Tea: So refreshing during a late afternoon lunch outside. Definitely a ton of sugar to sweeten it up.

Food is 3.5 stars, service was 5stars!! Wanted to try AUC after seeing such an amazing reviews, have to say food is good, but nothing amazing or like wowww, but the girl with a nose ring, was super nice, friendly, welcoming and very attentive. You have to order and pay outside, even if you're dining in and that's pretty inconvenient, when you're trying it for first time, as you dunno how service is for tipping and dunno there portion size, for ordering. We ordered migas, egg sandwich on jalapeño bread, coffee and cappuccino. I think they use dark roast coffee, because both cappuccino and coffee was both very strong, but it was good. Migas: it was ok, nothing special, but ask for there green sauce, that's really good but spicy. Egg sandwich: it's a simple egg, cheese, tomato and lettuce in between bread, and again pretty average. Whatever we ordered, portion size were small, one entree for one person is needed, can't share or no leftovers:) And place is kinda hidden, with lot of construction going around the area, and parking is super tight.

Arturo's is a favorite of ours! It's kind of hidden and not in an obvious space. The food is great and prepared perfectly and so is the service. I really loved their banana caramel French toast!

Came here for breakfast as it's right across the street from the hotel I was staying at. This place is almost hidden because of the construction going on, but don't miss it! Staff was super friendly. I loved the hole in the wall feel of the place. Ordered an iced vanilla latte and French toast with bacon. The French toast is great and filled me up. Bacon nice and crispy. The vanilla latte was solid too! I really liked this spot. If you're looking for a breakfast spot check this out!

Stayed at a hotel near by and walked over to have breakfast at Arturo's. I had the breakfast sandwich and my husband had the huevos rancheros that were both amazing! And don't forget to order coffee the breakfast blend and Texas pecan were both very tasty! Went on a Friday morning wanted to go back Sunday morning but was much busier and had a line out the door. If you're near by stop here.

AMAZING iced vanilla lattes. While this place is more of a casual breakfast spot known for their breakfast tacos and eggs, their iced vanilla lattes definitely beat out some of the actual coffee shops around Austin. I'll definitely be coming back to try their food.
