The 28 Best Restaurants in Quebec City, Canada | Eater

"This Limoilou staple places its kitchen front and center in the dining room, meaning guests surround the staff at every step of the meal. It’s a team effort as cooks act as waiters, offering rich descriptions of every dish. Expect local, seasonal ingredients prepared with great attention to detail. It’s a good idea to make a reservation online, where you must choose (and pay for) your regular or vegetarian menu ahead of time." - Allison Van Rassel

Rank: #48 "Arvi shook up the local scene with some trendy recent ideas from afar. You don’t make a reservation to get in here—you purchase a ticket (a system Grant Achatz popularized years ago at Next in Chicago). And once seated inside this spare industrial space with sleek modern furnishings, you’ll find that your five course-tasting menu (omnivorous or vegetarian) will be served and explained by the very same staff who worked on preparing it in the kitchen (as was popularized a decade back by Noma, and innumerable lesser restaurants since)."

From the second we walked in to the moment we left we were greeted with exceptional service. The member who greeted us went as far as to remember all of the guests names prior to arriving as they greeted me by my first name. We don’t speak French but they go beyond to explain Elam the dishes in English. Now, the food quality… I wish I went to ARVI last… we enjoyed 4 Michelin restaurants but everything paled in comparison. Worth your money.

Ok this was a very nice experience. We were a party of 4 peeps and we had a blast!! First of all, when I arrived i got confused because there was another restaurant next to it, then I kinda look to the glass and I saw random printed letters and it reads "A R V I", so i kinda like it is not a flashy place. The service is great, they don't have serveurs so it's the same kitchen staff who's bringing the dishes and wine. They were all very nice and informative about anything we got to ask so "shout out" to them and the chef. We have a 5 course dinner paired with wine and everything was delicious, it was a really nice trip with some unfamiliar flavors or ingredients, which we were so happy to take and discover. 100% recommended 5 course menu paired with wine plus services was around $200 pp We stayed around 3hours and a half. Ps. Look for "Domaine Arvi" on maps, this is the winery from the chef and they do have visits and food also, check it out!

Superb all around! Friendly and professional staff with great presentation of the dishes. The open kitchen experience puts you right in the action. A must visit experience if you are in Quebec City.

Excellent service, I appreciated how all the servers were able to accommodate us by presenting each dish and wine pairing in English - the team was kind and passionate about what they do! The experience of watching them create dishes in front of you is great as well with casual music and a trendy/upbeat atmosphere - fine dining without the pretentious or stuffy environment - well done! Food was great! A few dishes we loved, a couple were not quite to our taste - but were well executed and may be to others taste. As a place with a rotating/seasonal menu, I would certainly not hesitate to come back and try more dishes!

Went here for a fun experience and left absolutely glowing. You’re greeted so warmly coming in, with every chef working as a server as well creating this really cool harmony within the restaurant. I saw them make everything in front of us and each dish was explained throughly. Highly recommend a wine pairing since their wine choices are super unique. My biggest thing I’ll take from this restaurant is how open and warm all the chefs were. Fantastic people and fantastic cuisine, if you’re looking for a fun and full sensory experience, I highly recommend!!

We had a fantastic meal at ARVI. High quality food made from local and in season ingredients and excellent wine pairings. It's also quite the show in an open kitchen with every chef sharing all responbilities, both FOH and BOH.

Absolutely outstanding experience from start to finish. From the warm welcome at the door to the very last bite, everything was on point. The flavours are creative, thoughtful, and incredibly well-balanced. Every dish felt like it had a purpose. Wine pairing was spot-on—each glass brought out something new in the food without overpowering it. Service was impeccable: friendly, attentive, and genuinely knowledgeable. Arvi nails it on every level. A must if you’re in Québec City.

One of the best service and food experiences we've ever had. The chef's act as the servers and were welcoming from start to finish. One of the most personable services, with a custom menu built to fit our dietary restrictions. The food was incredible both beautiful to look at and delicious to eat. Easily one of the best restaurants in Quebec City. Look forward to returning the next time we visit the city.

Yelp
Every course was so different and tasted great. Their sauces are 10/10. I got the meat menu and the other person got the vegetarian and we shared. I didn't know if the dessert sounded appetizing on paper but omg it worked so well. There was never anything left on my plate. The wait staff are amazing -- they're also the chefs. They seem so friendly and knowledgeable and happy and the timing of everything was perfect. The kitchen is open to the restaurant so you can see them making your food. Still somehow the restaurant is very quiet from a noise-perspective. Everything is about transparency and warmth. Very comfortable to sit here for a while talking.

Yelp
All I can say is "WOW!!!" The food here is amazing. Love the open kitchen concept and that the chefs are also the waiters. This is wonderfully done nouveau French-Canadian cuisine. A similar table d'hote menu would be twice the price in many major cities in North America. In the Napa Valley it'd be 3x. The pacing of the meal is unhurried and the staff explains all the ingredients used for each dish. Having eaten at multiple Michelin star restaurants, I'd say that Arvi is at least on a similar level.

Yelp
It is a menu dégustation, so I guess the menu changes and it could be a hit or a miss. It was pretty terrible when we went. Waiters ask you how was the dish, but don't care about your comments. Some were good and others were very bland. The attitude of some waiters was the most unsettling (one insulted us in French, probably thinking we don't understand French ???!!!) oh well, never going back there and honestly you are taking a chance if you go.

Yelp
This quite simply is one of the best spots I've ever eaten at. Spectacular food, phenomenal beverage, all tied together with service and an ambiance that is truly world class. A one of a kind experience that is an absolute must try if visiting Quebec, or if you are a local looking to treat yourself to something special. Can't wait until my next visit.

Yelp
Cannot say enough good things about this place. Great vibes from the staff and great ambiance in the restaurant. The 5 course tasting menu with the wine pairing could not have been more perfect. The service from all the staff that share duties waiting tables and cooking as well as serving drinks is Amazing! Would highly recommend Arvi to anybody.

Yelp
Fabulous. Creative and intelligent menu with smart wine pairings. These young chefs are working magic in the kitchen - go and support them !!! Definitely worth a trip to Limoilou. Dined on 26 Juin - C.Ariz (Bellingham, Washington, USA)
