Short and sweet review from me as I felt it was such a great experience that I would share and encourage fellow travelers to mark this as a "must-do" dining experience you NEED to try when in the PI. I've been to my fair share of high-end restaurants in Asia, US, and Europe, this place definitely deserves a place in that conversation. Food and experience were top notch. I think the team did exceptionally well with bringing out the flavors of the dishes and not just the "seasoning." You can really appreciate the different components and how they work together, understanding the chef's intention. Food: Simple and flavorful; nothing overly flashy. Team: Welcoming and very warm.... it's the Philippines!!! Experience: Came here to celebrate a birthday... But, I felt like it was MY birthday 🤣!!! I'd come back again if I find myself back in the Philippines, someday! Cheers to the team!!

I spent 2 weeks in the Philippines and Asador Alfonso is hands down the best restaurant I visited during my stay. The atmosphere and service are incredible. The building is immaculate to the point where the architect didn’t want the guests to notice the air conditioner, so he/she decided to hide them with the wood panels that are displayed throughout the room. The staff here anticipate your needs whether it’s more water, new silverware, more wine. The food is also amazing here. We ordered a bunch of stuff but my favorite apps were the Jamon wagyu and the toast with chimichuri fish. For the mains we had a suckling pig and cod which are both served tabled side. I enjoyed the flan the most for dessert. This place cares about attention to details and I appreciated it. The bathroom had roosters all over the walls to indicate it was the men’s room which I thought was hilarious. The staff take you to the car in a golf cart. This place should be considered for the Michelin guide.

04 Jul 2025 - Superb Spanish food! We had the set menu and ordered two bottles of red for lunch. Service was SIX stars out of five! A fly decided to plunge in to my still-full glass of wine. Server took it away and replaced it with a 2011 Grand Cru!! Everyone was friendly, atte tive, and knowledgeable. A couple also toured us around the building and took pictures of us outside. The venue is an oasis. Gorgeous modernist architecture, wide and spacious dining room. Outside are manicured gardens with more art installations. Can't ask for more. Will definitely come back!

An unforgettable experience. Every dish on the menu we tried was better. After a long trip through the Philippines, the stop at Asador Alfonso was like coming home. The food was of great quality and expertly prepared. The wine list could be found in any very good restaurant in Europe. The service pays attention to detail. Add to all this the magical location, the architecture and design that are a reference to the province. The overall result is an unforgettable experience an affordable price in compare with high-ends restaurants in Philippines or Europe

We reserved a lunch for 12 pax yet attendant keep on insisting that only 9 pax was booked. Instead of accomodating the 3, additional chair and table will be approved by first by the manager like duh. They did not accomodate also the adittional order of food because again only 9 pax was booked. The whole group did not enjoy because the attendant is so arrogant that she cant commit the mistakes done. To add salt to the wound, they billed us twice the amount of the correct amount!!! The food is expensive but the taste is sub par. The ambiance is not great since trees are very young and place is very hot during lunch time so you cant feel the Tagaytay vibe.

We chose the lechon set menu, and it was an absolute success. The Wagyu jamón was unlike anything I've had before, truly unique. The smoked roasting, their signature style, delivered the deep, rich flavors you expect from a top-tier roast house. And the leche flan… simply the best I've ever tasted. The service was outstanding. Every explanation was thoughtful and added to the overall experience.

The space is hands-down impressive. Service is good - we met Chef Rodrigo shortly, the staff assisting us were attentive and nice. The food, however, was so-so. Don’t get me wrong, it wasn’t bad. It was just underwhelming for the cost. You’re mostly paying for the setting, not the food.

2025 Update: Menu has changed, huge fan of the rice and shrimp. And as before, I truly enjoy the Carabinero. We had to order one for each of us. Excited to perhaps dine here during summer months! 2024: We came here on a Sunday, for my husband's pre-birthday celebration dinner. While it was unfortunately raining, the overall ambience of the place was warm and inviting. Chef Chele and Chef Rodrigo were also present and very much busy. In terms of ambient temperatures though, I personally found it too cold after a while, and had to get hot tea. The ladies comfort rooms were also like a pleasant fever dream with the sheep designs and atmospheric music. (Or did I imagine all that?) In terms of the food, the Lamb, Prawn, Jamon de Wagyu, and Flan was my outright favorites. My only real complaint would be that there were times the food was served while I was still eating. They do ask if they could remove the previous plates, but it also wouldn't hurt to wait a minute or two. I even got a to-go portion of the Jamon. I do wish Asador Alfonso was just a touch nearer. We are making plans to visit within the year, and are hoping to taste the Lechazo. Thank you Wilma, as well as Mike for making my husband's pre-birthday dinner great!
