The brisket and carnitas tacos are really really good - especially with a decent slather of the green sauce that helps cut a little of the fattiness. Then again, the only thing preventing this from getting to 5 stars is that it *is* fatty. Mind you, given what it is, you expect it to be fatty, but then again, my liver is still in a little bit of shock a few hours later. Still, excellent tacos, and given that you're in Buford's, you can order a pint of (expensive!) beer, chill, watch football on the screen (if that's your thing) and eat your tacos. Note, the chips (optional. expensive) are deeply fried, and not particularly good...

Stellar! Will be a patron and send others! Chicken tacos are not as spicy as you'd think (thank God)! Good spice as to where it doesn't mask the flavor of the chicken itself and the cilantro and light onion balance it perfectly. yes, it's inside of a bar - have a drink while you wait! Attentive & fun staff!!

Went here on a recommendation from a waiter at another restaurant. Was exactly what I was hoping for. It is a one man show at the back of Las Perlas Mezcaleria. He's got his fine ingredients and a small grill set up in the open courtyard. Delicious flavour combinations from traditional to adventurous, reasonable prices, and the bar available for your beverage needs. Taco heaven.

Food quality is pretty good but I was really disappointed to see their "quesadilla" is the size of a taco. Should have expected that from a $5 quesadilla I guess but still sad

Can it really be the best taco when it’s small and cost $5? I’ve had $1 tacos on the streets of LA that 4x the amount of meat than this taco. Yes I get that the brisket taco taste amazing. But if I have to spend $15 to $20 to get full then hard pass.

Some of the absolute best tacos I've had in my life. Freshly made flour tortillas, perfectly flavoured and deliciously moist meat. To top it off, great guacamole! I will definitely return when I'm next in Austin. This food counter is tucked into the back courtyard of a mescal bar.

Went here to end the night just looking for tacos and margaritas, but did not expect how amazing it would be. The beef cheek/lamb tacos were easily the best tacos I’ve ever had—absolutely melt-in-your-mouth slow-cooked meat unlike anything I’ve tried before. This is one helluva hidden gem.

LOVED their pollo asado tacos with the fried cheese. We initially ordered one for a snack but just had to get a second. The tortilla is flaky and has a lot of flavour itself, the chicken perfectly spiced, the salsa adds a nice kick and the fried cheese - crunchy and gooey. It was seriously tasty. That matched with a delicious metzcal margherita from the bar next door, and sitting outdoors in their patio is a perfect Saturday evening. Absolutely must try.
