Love Asbury Kitchen! Breakfast is my fav meal of the day, and OC def has a lot to offer when it comes to breakfast/brunch! My boyfriend has celiacs (gluten free allergy) and this is our go to! Equipped with a separate fully Gluten Free menu, gluten free desserts, and accommodating staff. There were so many options we’ve never seen at other places (gluten free eggs benedict— pictured) and so much more that we need to go back and try— gluten free almond pound cake- yes please! I got a regular Jersey Eggs Benedict which was absolutely delicious and he got the same made gluten free and we shared a stack of gluten free pancakes with fresh strawberry and crispy bacon. Everything was made to perfection!!! Cozy and clean atmosphere, friendly staff and lots of options! Highly recommend for breakfast/brunch and especially for any friends with allergies!

OC NJ has so many great breakfast places that it is really hard to stand out, which Asbury Kitchen does effortlessly. The staff is cheerful and knows the perfect thing to suggest to a patron who is struggling to choose from so many tempting options. The Jersey Benedict with a side of Chipped Beef was perfect. The Goat Cheese Tomato and Basil Crepe (with house made Basil Pesto) was delicious. There is a bonus picture of their upcoming new menu item “Holiday Toast” which we will come back for.

Best breakfast on the island! Everything is cooked to perfection, extremely clean atmosphere, and the service is top notch. The staff goes over and beyond to make you feel welcomed!

Google
This is our new go to restaurant! Pleasant servers, immaculate surroundings, delicious and reasonably priced menu. Breakfast and lunch are served. Outside dining. Avocado toast is a favorite! Gluten-free cake available. The western omelette was cooked perfectly with sautéed onions and peppers, gooey cheddar cheese and lean ham. The potatoes are outstanding! Perfectly seasoned and tasty. The egg sandwich with crispy bacon was a delight!!

Google
Perfect breakfast food, attentive staff, our crazy order was perfect. Didn’t even forget to warm up our maple syrup like we asked. The owner said they do nothing in jars and I believe it, asked for jalapeños and it came half de seeded cut and fried perfectly. Couldn’t be more impressed. Spotlessly clean and everyone was so satisfied. Definitely recommend and will definitely be back!

We were waiting with our dog for over an hour and 20 mins and the hostess kept walking past us and seating everyone before us even though we got there over an hour ago. We told our name to two of the hostesses AGAIN and they just dismissed us and told us another 20 mins. Absolutely not waiting any longer. Terrible customer service. Great food in past experiences. Will go back when it's not busy moving forward.

My wife and I were on vacation in Ocean City, NJ and it has been over a decade since I personally had come down. This year I became gluten free as is my wife. This morning she was craving pancakes and upon inspection the Asbury Kitchen has everything someone with GF intolerance could want! From French toast, to pound cakes, pancakes and toast etc. The restaurant was clean, staff were pleasant, friendly, and helpful which was great. Bright inside, delicious breakfast and decent coffee made our meal here more than above average. GF French toast and pancakes were really good. NJ gluten free food vs upstate NY gluten free is much better. Thank you to the Asbury Kitchen for delivering on the promise of great gluten free breakfast!

Google
Excellent food and service—a much needed upgraded from Arlene's! We got two Benedict's. The eggs were poached to perfection; the flavor profile was balanced; the portions were large for very reasonable prices. 10 out of 10 would recommend!

Yelp
Food and service were great! Love their large offering of gluten free options. Had the crepes on our first visit and pancakes on the second visit.

Yelp
My friend and I had planned on going to a restaurant across the street from Asbury Kitchen, but it was closed, even though the webiste said they were open. So we took a chance and ate here. It proved to be a happy accident....Asbury Kitchen was all we could have asked for or want in a small community restaurant. Clean. Bright. Cheerful. Cozy. Great service. Their huge menu made it hard for us to choose. I finally ordered my tried and true Eggs Benedict. The hollandaise sauce was made from scratch in their kitchen. My friend picked their devine ricotta/buttermilk pancakes with fresh fruit. Real maple syrup is available. They offer a HUGE selection of sweet and savory crepes and lots of health conscious menu selections, as well. We'll come back again. But? Next time it will be on purpose.....

Yelp
The food here is very hit or miss, the first time it was amazing the second time wasn't great and this time it was okay. We got a salad, salmon, and an omelette. The omelette was delicious! The salmon was a little dry but still pretty good and they forgot the dressing for the salad and we didn't realize until we got back home so we had to improvise there, the chicken on the salad was so hard and dry we couldn't eat it and we ended up just making the lettuce into a wrap with lunch meat instead. We were able to pick up the food fast which was good though!

Yelp
Great location but ... Bought soup at the festival. They would only sell a large container. Was chicken orzo. More like smelly chicken mush. Honestly the worst soup I've ever smelled or attempted to eat in my life. My friend smell it and gaged. Brought it home dumped in a collider to see what was lurking in the bottom of the 4 4 inches of chicken fat. I had to toss it the smell was just evil. Worst $14.00 I spent in 2023 I hope it's not always like this maybe they were trying to dump old soup that day. Sorry for the really bad review.

Yelp
Ocean city has some nice breakfast only restaurants. Asbury Kitchen is new to the island. Passing by we noticed the outside dining was full. We stopped anyway to put our name in. Our luck they had seats open inside . Nicely remodeled with comfy seats. With help hard to find on the island, we were ready for slow service. Not today, we had an excellent young server that was pleasant and attentive. Breakfast was good. Hard to give 5 stars breakfast. I do recommend you try them out. I will return to try them again. Best of luck, the place looks great.

Yelp
If you're looking for all day breakfast & lunch spot with traditional "beach town vibes" then look no further than Asbury Kitchen! This vibrant & welcoming restaurant is the perfect beach restaurant with yellow shiplap walls & nautical decorations, what's not to love! I ordered their smoked salmon savory crêpe & let me tell you... best savory crêpe I've ever eaten!!! The staff was warm, welcoming, & very hospitable & their kitchen was like a well oiled machine! They also offer a Gluten Free menu as well! They also do take out, catering, & private parties! There literally is something here for every palate! You won't be disappointed! Cheers!

Yelp
Just went to Asbury Kitchen a few days ago, and decided to write a review. So first off, food had no seasoning, second off, service was slow and forgot we were there. But I guess at least the area had nice vibes. The food was not worth the wait or the price.

Yelp
We got takeout yesterday and we were pretty disappointed. The Crabby Benedict had very little flavor and the hollandaise was so watery you couldn't even taste it. The Egg White Scramble looked like it had been cooked in a rush, lacked any kind of seasoning, and was missing the tomatoes (accompanied muffin was also missing peanut butter). I hope this is just an off-season anomaly.

Yelp
Well definitely not Arlene's !!! The waitress was very nice. I ordered gluten free pancakes with strawberries and my mom ordered eggs benedict with pork roll. My pancakes were thick & very dry, and the strawberries were cooked into the pancakes...first time I've seen that done. The eggs benedict, the eggs were cooked perfect but the hollandaise sauce was like water, runny and ice cold, and no taste. Arlene's was such a nice family owned place & I enjoyed eating at and could eat at (I have celiac) every year for the past 7 yrs. I didn't know they had closed. Very sad to say the least. I hope this new place makes it. But, can't say I'll be back.

Yelp
We decided to stop at Asbury Kitchen this weekend. My two dining partners had omelets and I had a tuna club wrap. Omelets and hash browns were very good. One half of wrap had quite a bit of lettuce but it was fresh. Waitstaff pleasant and attentive!

Jan V.

Yelp
The servers are efficient and service is excellent. The food is delicious and there is a large variety of breakfast and lunch selections. I highly recommend Asbury Kitchen. My favorite restaurant to eat breakfast or lunch!

Sophia B.

Yelp
Good food and service. Everything was very clean and it was a pleasant meal. Our server was kinda and checked up on our table several times time making sure thing was to our liking.

Yelp
Asbury Kitchen is located ion the picturesque Asbury Street in the heart of downtown. The staff , friendly, professional and attentive. The menu was extensive. Anything and everything that you could possibly want for breakfast or lunch. I had a tough time deciding so I asked our wonderful waitress -she recommended the spinach and cheese crepe. It was fabulous with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. My husband ordered a Eggs and pork roll sandwich. He was very happy with everything from the yeasty homemade bun to the generous helping of pork roll. The place even in November had a waitlist but they got us in a timely fashion . If I lived in Ocean City I would become a regular here so I could try everything on the menu.

Kendall J.

Yelp
The food is really good, especially the breakfast tacos, but the service needs to be improved. Hopefully by this summer they can continue to make necessary changes and improvements as my parents and I love going there- but HATE the wait once we order. One of the owners nieces (I believe) we had as our server and we couldn't say enough nice things about her. So sweet and accommodating, a great server on their staff!

Yelp
Nice little place with breakfast all day... why not! The food is delicious and made right. The presentation was also very attractive. Chef is very talented and consistent. The service was friendly and impeccably detailed for a breakfast place. Our server Olga was very helpful and patient with the children. We will be back for sure and enjoy the outside seating!

Jenny R.

Yelp
the owners are amazing this business deserves the world!! the eggs are chef's kiss and atmosphere is nice

Yelp
The environment is welcoming and cute. There's a solid amount of gluten free options. I ordered the gluten free crab benedict. The crab was very fresh. The bread wasn't toasted and ended up being completely soggy by the time the entree hit the table. The hollandaise is runny not creamy and a bit bland. The bacon was very good and crisp. The breakfast potatoes are also boiled not crispy or sautéed. I had to add salt, pepper, and hot sauce to everything. Maybe its because I live in the south but I expected more flavor and spices...The variety for gluten free guests are why I gave an extra star, outside of that I was a bit disappointed.

Yelp
We tried to go to Asbury Kitchen for brunch today and encountered perhaps the worst service I've ever seen. We showed up and put our name in: 20 minute wait. After ~30 minutes we followed up with the hostess only to learn they had crossed our name out, claiming they called us and we didn't answer (we were waiting by the entrance all the while and they never called us). Another 30 minutes pass with no further indication we would ever get a table. After talking with other customers who were unable to get served even after being seated ("run while you can"), we decided to leave for a much better experience at a nearby competitor. With so many other great brunch spots in OC, please do not waste your time with Asbury Kitchen. The service was pathetic, the staff argumentative and rude, and the opportunity cost simply too high. Would be shocked if this place was open in summer 2023 - really negative experience.

Yelp
I used to pick food up here when this was Arlene's. I don't know where to start. I have not had service this poor in years. They sat us down and it took ten minutes to get our order taken. Then 25 minutes to get our drink. Which I had to ask for. It took an hour to get my food and my sons gluten free. Just cheese Eggs. Then about another 15 minutes we were completely done when with a smirk and a I'm sorry my husband got his cold greasy eggs. I am lucky my bacon came even after that like a dessert. Seriously Kiera was our waitress and the little boy helping did a better job working two tables. The entire meal from sit down to finish was an 1:37 minutes. Sadly the my gf french toast is good but not worth this long. There were empty tables so it wasn't so crowded. They need a john tapper to give them a pos system and training or something. My husband was about to go pay for mine and my sons when they brought his out. We were getting up from the table. Poor service unorganized.

Yelp
Love it here. Great food. Friendly service. Has been on pint every time we have come. Big menu and everything was and is delicious. Look forward to returning

Yelp
We went to this restaurant for an early breakfast with a group of 6. Our waitress was incredibly sweet and very attentive. She was knowledgeable about dietary restrictions and gluten-free options (of which there were many)! Our food was all delicious, came out quickly, and was enough that we had leftovers for lunch. If you sit outside you can bring a dog-- our waitress made sure our dog was hydrated by bringing out a water bowl. Their sun shade expands, so even in the sun you can have a cool meal :)

Yelp
Excellent service and food Lovely beach decor The food is excellent with great choices The waitresses are very pleasant and provide excellent service Highly recommend

Yelp
VERY GOOD FOOD! We stopped in here while on vacation. The food was very good and pretty large portions. The waitress was very sweet and when we asked for a side of balsamic glaze, she brought us the entire bottle. Clean place with great food and polite staff. The prices weren't bad at all either for a restaurant at the shore.

Kal E.

Yelp
It was a long long long wait for our food. I'm not sure if it was the kitchen or waitress who neglected us. We had no silverware. We gave up waiting for syrup and grabbed it from another table that left. Food was ok. Arlene's food and service were better.

Linda T.

Yelp
The food was delicious however the staff needs to remember they are working with the public. The hostess/owner told one of the servers we needed our drink order taken. She shrugged her shoulders and walked away, as she looked at our table! There were 4 adults & I child, all 4 adults saw the same thing. When "our" server came to the table she never apologized for the wait. She took our drink order and we asked if there was a children menu she looked puzzled. The topper of the entire experience was going to pay the bill, they told us they could give us .32 in Penny's because they didn't have any other change. Imagine how much money they got for entire day saying they only had penny's to give change? Not the best hour and a half we spent in Ocean City!

Jamie B.

Yelp
our server was amazing but the food was laughable the eggs benedict was extremely sub par the crepe was disgusting and the chicken florentine tasted like cardboard. definitely would not recommend anyone put themself through that horrible experience

Mitch W.

Yelp
I've been to many excellent breakfast spots in Ocean City and this place was no exception. The "Irish Benny" was one of the best breakfasts I've ever had and the staff was extremely friendly.

KT K.

Yelp
Hmm wish I could say better about this place. So many good reviews but this was a miss for us. My egg sandwich came out w American cheese when I asked for Swiss. The egg in my husbands omelet wasn't good. I honestly don't think I'd return. Arlene's was great. Service was slow too. Two other guests had their meal and I waited several minutes for my meal to come. It was just ok. Sorry. So many other places better in OC

Doris R.

Yelp
Service was not great. Taste and quality of food was very poor. It can't compare to the previous restaurant that was in this location.

Rich B.

Yelp
A complete makeover of Arlenes the new owners have added a touch of sophistication to this breakfast/lunch restaurant. With the helpful staff and owners on site Asbury Kitchen will be a staple for both full time residents and visitors. Their menu is basic Ocean City but interesting specials also. We would recommend highly Asbury Kitchen.

Michael P.

Yelp
For anyone looking to have a great breakfast in OCNJ, you won't regret going to Asbury Kitchen! It's only one year old more or less and we had a great breakfast there. The menu was vast and has something for everyone. Omelettes, sandwiches, French toast, chipped beef, fruit or your basic eggs, potatoes and breakfast meats. The Uncle Johnny's sausage was the best! DO NOT go there without getting this! The presentations were beautiful and the taste was luscious. I would seriously say that this place ranks way up there with the other top notch breakfast places on the island. I will make this place a regular stop now!!

Gerry T.

Yelp
Picked up my boys at Basketball camp at OC high school and ambled over to Asbury Kitchen. Charming inside but it was nice so we decided to sit outside. It was a tad disorganized but then we got a lovely and enthusiastic server. One boy got breakfast, they serve it all day! Yummy. While the other boy got lunch, and both were very solid. Good food, good service, good times! Will definitely be back!

Karen S.

Yelp
Best breakfast in Ocean City! Great, friendly service! Nice outdoor seating! I highly recommend!

Sarah P.

Yelp
This restaurant has a larger menu, and is open for breakfast and lunch. We went for lunch today, and this is definitely some of the better food on the island. I had the Greek Flat Bread, and it was delicious. We will be returning to try their Breakfast.

Kc G.

Yelp
What happened to the good old Arlenes??? We have been coming to OCNJ for 20 years and have been regulars at Arlenes. We decided to give The Kitchen a try- what a total disappointment. My whole family and I each decided to get the 1 egg, home fries, and toast along with coffee. We were a party of 5 and came in around 8:10. We got our food at 8:40, after watching every table, even a table of 4 (who all got french toast and pancakes), get their food before ours. While we waited, we were not given any extra coffee. They had over 5 waitresses and the outside and inside both were not full. When we got our food, it was absolutely cold. My egg was super cold, the potatoes obviously had been sitting on our plates for quite sometime, along with our toast. The toast sat out for so long it became cold and soft- basically bread again. We got one slice of toast each and it was not served with butter and we had to request butter packets. Other scrambled eggs at the table were undercooked and wet. Such a bad experience. They decided to focus on aesthetics rather than good food and good service. We will never go back.

Dreylock 2.

Yelp
atmosphere is nice, it's a small place but comfortable. the food was actually really good but the biggest flaw was the coordination. first of all the hostess was amazing in running interference but it took nearly 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. Tables were being filled and orders were taken after we sat down. one of the biggest issues was there appeared to be problems in the kitchen where full orders weren't leaving the kitchen leaving one or two people at the table without their food for long periods of time. nearly an hour and a half after we were seated my daughters pancakes finally came out after the rest of us had finished eating. We were very patient for this and the staff was working but overall I wouldn't recommend this place if you are in a tight schedule.

Deb B.

Yelp
We visited the first time today for a late breakfast. We used to eat here when it was Arlene's cause my daughter is gluten intolerant. Glad to see gluten free strawberry pancakes r still on the menu. The portion size was large (probably too large for the average eater). But disappointed the sliced strawberries r cooked inside the pancake & there were very few slices. I ordered eggs Benedict with pork roll. The eggs were cooked to perfection. I asked if fruit cud b subbed for the fried potatoes & was pleasantly surprised with the large fresh fruit cup at no up charge. The hollandaise tho is a different story. It was served ice cold on top of my hot eggs and it was flavorless; lacked the taste & consistency (very water) of a good hollandaise. The server was very pleasant, took my plate & returned with warmer but not hot hollandaise on the eggs.. Wasn't worth the time to return a 2nd time since it the hollandaise didn't taste that good. Over all a less than average experience & doubt we'll b back.
