I've been coming here for years. Hadn't been in a long time but won't be coming back. It used to be bright and clean. Now it's dark, dank and musty. No more friendly staff. While I really liked the diversity of ingredients, there are other options I can go to. It's no longer hard to find things like Banana Blossom etc.

The only place in manhattan I could find uncooked kerupuk 🙂

This place was wonderful and captivating! I thanked your staff for answering my questions if ever I have any concerns. The cashiers are all active and speedy in doing their work. Love this grocery store, they carry a lot of products and brands that I Iove. Only problem I have with them is that their hours are like corporate office hours, Weekdays 8 to 5, closed on holidays. So if you work office hours and you’re not nearby, you pretty much have to a take a leave just to do grocery shopping..

Great selection of South-East Asian products and items! I was looking for galangal, belachan, and good oyster sauce and found them all there! I got lemongrass as well, but it wasn't as fresh.

Take it From an Aussie when I say many south-east Asian curry pastes are very hard to find in Manhattan. You have to explore but this place has a great range of hard to finds; laksa pastes, rendangs, heaps of red, green and yellow curry pastes. Also a good 30-40% cheaper than places further uptown.

You can find quite a few familiar Malaysian and indonesian brands in this grocery store. If you're looking for Sambal, Milo, White Coffee, pandan leaves, dried anchovies and shrimp and asian brand noodles, come to this place. All the spoils from home can be found here.

I come here to pick up Maggi instant noodles (they carry Curry, Asam Laksa and Tom Yum flavors), but I also stock up on snacks -- Mamee, fish muruku and other Asian cross-overs like spicy sweet potato chips and shrimp rolls. They also have instant ketupat, laksa, rendang, etc. Packages won't be the same as the real stuff, but if you're missing home and you're a terrible cook like I am, this place is a lifesaver.

As Indonesian in NY this store has more Indonesian items In Manhattan. If you travel far-make sure to call them ahead before you go there and ask if it's open. It will save you time!

Asia groceries is what I go for here. The store has been reshuffled and it's now difficult to find things but they are no organized .

Decent selection of Asian goods and not overpriced. Most importantly, found my ube powder and extract here. Giron brand ube powder is only $3.95. Don't have to trek to Johnny's to get it for pricier.

Customer service is somewhat attentive in this small quaint Vietnamese food market. Fruits and veggies are located outside. A small bottle of honey is priced at $2.25 and fresh lemon at $.50, thus priced competitively to meet the needs of consumers in today's ailing economy. Patrons watch your step upon entering as the step is tricky especially for those who have difficulities walking. My friend's mother has somewhat of difficulty.

This spot gives credence to the time honored maxim that "you will find it, if you look hard enough." This spot has been under my nose all these years, yet I've never had the wherewithal to conduct a proper search for this spot; well, I was recently put into a bind since I didn't have a specific sauce that is utterly necessary to fully enjoy a Filipino lechon dish(of which I had cooked about 4 pounds of the previous day... I used some homemade bbq sauce for some of it, but it's just not the same). Not wanting to venture into the outskirts of Queens for such a secret sauce, I resorted to a proprietary Yelp search (i.e. "Filipino Store") in/around the area that's within a reasonable vicinity to my regular place of business. Curiously enough, this little market turned out to be the #1 hit for my search. All I could think was "no way can there be a Filipino market so close to where I've worked/played/studied for all these years...", and technically, that sentiment was correct (this isn't a Filipino market, at least not exclusively). The place's namesake is an apt description of what it is... it is a market of Asian goods; not just Chinese, not just Japanese, not just Thai, not just Indian, not just Filipino... but all the above (and so much more). I could feel my chest getting heavy at the realization of all the years I've wasted not knowing of this place's existence; to my credit, the place is a bit hard to find. Now that I've finally found you, I have to make up for all the lost time. Typically I would scoff at a $20 credit card minimum... but it is so easy to spend that kind of money here. You can bet your ass that I'll be experimenting with a lot more flavors now that I have this place's full arsenal/armory/ordinance depot at my disposal. And yes, I did find the special Filipino sauce here, so bonus points for that.

If you want to make Thai curry chicken, Malay Curry noodle soup or some Thai Ice Tea, this grocery store can satisfy all your South-East Asian food need. They have all the spices, sauces, and dry goods for your cooking. They have also other Chinese grocery as well as fresh vegetable right in front of the store at low prices. Space or organized display is not their strong point but if you are patient, this place is great.

I came here to look for a certain kind of instant ramen. If I wasn't looking for this particular grocery store, I would have easily missed it - indeed, I never realized that this place existed until I visited. It's tiny, bit run-down shop, but the staff here was the nicest of all other grocery shop staff. Even though I couldn't find what I was looking for, I had a nice chat and also discovered a lot of products are sold cheaper than other stores.

For Chinese staples there are other bigger shinier places in Chinatown but for Southeast Asian ingredients this is my go-to. They have the sauces and the raw ingredients I need to make my fave Thai, Vietnamese, Malaysian, Filipino dishes at home. I'm always discovering new things but whenever I visit, I like to stock up on Thai bird chiles, galangal, as well as the Mama Sita sisig sauce packets and All Purpose (lechon) sauce and Maesri curry sauces.

The have the Malaysian dry curry powder mix imported from Malaysia! Very sweet family business. Looks dingy from the outside but inside is very clean and organized. Go support local businesses!

This is one of the very very few stores in Manhattan that I can get all the ingredients I would need to make my favorite Asian dishes. Many of the other Asian markets; e.g. Hong Kong Market, do not carry many, well barely any, Filipino ingredients causing me to make multiple stops but Asia Market Corp has been a one stop shop for me. Outside the market they have all their fresh items as well as some fish on ice and etc. Walk through the plastic "curtain" and you'll find yourself inside the store. The aisles are a tight fit but their selection is wide. The store goes into a second back area, down some stairs, with many more items so ask for help if there is something specific you need and don't see it. The store definitely does not have a clean feeling to it, but I don't think I've been to an Asian market that does, so that is not my concern. The prices have been pretty fair and have kept me coming back for over 5.5 years. My biggest issue with Asia Market Corp is that their hours are always off. It'll say online that they are open till 6pm, then I get there at 5:30pm and they are closed. UGGGHHHHHH!! I now go with the basic rule of, if the sun is down then don't even try. But important to note, I will never stop trying, because this place is essential for my cooking =D.

After I returned from Malaysia and Singapore I looked all over for the popular coconut jam (called Kaya). So far this is the only place I've found that has it (in fact, they have 2 different brands imported from Malaysia). The woman at the counter was very friendly and helpful answering my questions. The pricing was reasonable and I'll definitely be back next time I need some hard to find Southern Asian foodstuffs.

Asia Market Corporation, an Asian grocery that sells spices and packaged goods imported from Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, Philippines, China, Korea, and Japan. I usually come here for spices, instant noodles, bottled chilli, crackers, ayam brand can sardine from Singapore & Malaysia. This is where I get my supply of Petai aka Stinky beans. :o) After the store extension, it feels more comfortable to shop here plus they keep the place tidy and neat. The staff are very friendly and helpful too. :o)

Small little store but is fully packet with everything you need and want from south east asia!! Feels just like home whenever I come here! Prices are reasonable and comparable to other bigger Hong Kong based grocery stores. this is my go to for my Malaysian products!

Cue the Indonesian national anthem, I've found the holy grail of Indonesian grocery! Every now and then, I crave food from the motherland and there ain't no craving like an Indo food craving. I once stumbled into a very small, non-descript store in Chinatown that surprisingly had kecap manis (sweet soy sauce) and rendang mix. Since the store doesn't have a sign and I was too dumb to remember the cross streets, I found myself wandering around Chinatown today trying to remember where the store was located (damn you, crappy sense of direction!). I didn't find that store. However, I found something better: Asia Market Corp! I was drawn to the huge sign that says "INDONESIAN AND THAI." Uh... that means they have Indonesian things, right? I spotted some durians out front - good sign already! I went in and immediately found kecap manis, sambal tauco, sambal terasi, and sambal ABC - SCORE!!! I had not been that excited since I first discovered Ippudo. They have all sorts of spices, instant mixes, and just about everything you could ever need. They also carry the GOOD brands and an excellent variety of each product (all kinds of Indomie!); oh man, they really know their stuff! I walked out with all sorts of instant mixes, spices, and about three different kinds of chili sauces (we love our chili sauce!). Their prices are SO reasonable (cheaper than the Indonesian groceries in Seattle!). They have a $20 minimum for credit card transactions, but after looking extremely distressed and lost, the cashier was kind enough to lower that slightly for me. I love you, Asia Market Corp *blows kisses*

The best market in NY for Southeast Asia products. If you are cooking Indonesian, Vietnamese, Thai, Malaysian, Filipino...all of your shopping can be done here. Nutmeg candies from Malaysia. Bai Toey, also known as pandan leaves, for flavoring sago-sago. Shrimp crackers, to serve with my Nasi Goreng. Lemongrass powder, galangal powder, pepper leaves, coconut vinegar and so much more! The fresh produce at the front is wonderful - garlic chives, long beans, daikon, bean sprouts and fresh banana blossoms, which can be found no other place in Chinatown!!! Not to mention a friendly staff that speaks English - this is my go to place. Very reasonable prices - much better than Bangkok Grocery on Mosco Street which used to be my go to place, until I discovered this gem.

After moving to the 'Burg & selling my car I was devastated. All this organic, vegan, gluten-free bullsh*t they sell in my hood but NO Asian markets was devastating. Does my half Filipino self have to venture her way into the motherlands of Woodside, Queens just to get my groceries? That means I have to take the damn 7 train that only works 50% of the time?! Alas, Asia Mart came to save the day. They have all the southeast Asian grocery staples I.E. malay , indo, viet and pinoy goodies. After going here I have to say Phil-Am foods rips us off!! Tragic. Our fellow countrymen ripping us off. Everything here was .50-$1 less. I bought two packs of spring roll wrappers, vinegar, soy sauce, seasonings and 5 packs of pancit canton for $9.50. WTF!!!! So amazed. On top of that the service is exceptional. The owner and his wife got me everything I needed since the aisles were crowded from shipments. All done with such kindness and a smile. I will return!

Been going here for years. Has most everything we need in our Indonesian household. We used to go to one on Bayard but it was closed after a horrible car accident killed the wife. They were such a cute older couple and always doted on our young boys at the time. I heard through the community that the husband died shortly after:( This one is bigger and has everything but I still Miss seeing and saying hi to our friends in the other store .

If you're looking for Asian spices, this store has got it. The recently expanded shop also carries a nice variety of fresh green vegetables in the front, canned goods, condiments and packaged noodles in the back. Chances are you will be able to locate whatever it is you need for your recipe, as well as stuff you never knew existed, and if you can't find it, just ask. Everyone is friendly and helpful.

If there was a fire in Chinatown at 3 in the morning, I would run down here in my pyjamas with a fire extinguisher just to save this very store. Growing up in South East Asia, many things are taken for granted because it's so easily available. Not the case in New York. Here, you can find Pandan Leaves, Belachan, Lime Leaves, Gula Melaka, a whole host of spices, and whatever else tickles your fancy. They are right in saying that they're an Indonesian, Thai, Asia Market etc. because everything that you ever want from South East Asia is right here (Except your grandmother and aunts). It's a little pricey as compared to some of the other stores in Chinatown. But with all I need in one place? I can overlook a dollar or two.

Now that I've moved into the city, I'm so glad I've found this store- they specialize in importing SouthEast Asian curries, spices, and sauces that make cooking Malaysian, Viet, Thai, or Indian at home a possibility. Its definitely more expensive than similar southeast asian stores in 8th Ave (Brooklyn), which I'm used to shopping at but thats fine with me- I'm totally ok with paying a small premium for convenience and accessibility. *FOR YOU PANDAN LOVERS OUT THERE* (like me!) They have actual pandan leaves in their fridge if you're ever inclined to extract pandan essence for flavoring/baking, etc. Otherwise, they also sell bottled essence too for the middle of the road bakers, and boxed pandan cake mixes for the busy and/or lazy, lol no judgements. I've done it all, sometimes life just happens and time is not on your side! Great selection of spices- Pho, A1 sauce, indian spices, soup packet mixes (ie. Bak Kut Teh)... everything you could possibly think of PLUS garnishes. *insert happy dance here* Credit cards accepted!

Just spent 3 and half years in Southeast Asia and while the majority of time I dreamed of the day I'd have a Whole Foods back at my disposable, 1 month after being back home, I can't take it and need some of that SEA taste! (FYI Whole Foods curry paste ain't got nothing on making that from scratch.) 10 mins after googling where to buy Indomie I found myself here. Selection is great for all things Southeast Asia: tons of chili sauces, oils, ramens, curry paste and spices (note they come in bulk). They sell brands directly from Thailand, Philippines, etc. but also similar stuff made by brands in the U.S. So if you're unfamiliar and want the real deal just double check the labels for the origin. Wish they had more selection of fresh items but for the basics, I will definitely be back!

Next to Hong Kong Supermarket, which carries many Southeast Asian brands, this is the #1 place to go get your fix for Malaysian, Thai, Filipino, and Viet sauces, pastes, and other dry groceries. We came here to get Malay fish curry paste (made in Butterworth, Penang! Holla!) and also picked up a jar of Hainanese chicken rice sauce which makes your rice flavorful when eating poached chicken. It ain't got everything, but for what it has, it's likely the only game in town. Due to its indispensable nature I am forced to give it 5 stars! Come here for the ethnic foods that Hong Kong Supermarket doesn't have, and vice versa. If it is Thai, you could also try Bangkok Grocery around the corner. Past that, you are probably up a creek. Have fun! :D

Come here for all your Thai, Malaysian, Indonesian, and other southeast Asian cooking ingredients. They sell spices and items that other nearby grocery vendors and markets seem to be lacking, such as galangal, lemongrass, kaffir leaves, and chili peppers. The market itself isn't very large, but just ask for what you need when you walk in so you don't have to spend too much time perusing. The plastic flaps in the front doorway were kind of annoying, but otherwise, shopping here was easy and I was able to get in and out in under 5 minutes.

Asia Market on Mulberry Street is my go-to place for all of the classic Asian spices and sauces. You will find fresh galangal on the counter, a whole aisle of Toban Djan, a dizzying assortment of soy sauces, Chinkiang Vinegar, and almost any other Chinese or Indonesian condiment you might want. Noodles, seafood, and so much more. Prices are excellent, and the assortment is really something special.

I felt like I stepped in South east asian heaven! All ingredients I ever need for Malaysian, Thai and Vietnamese cooking can be found here!!! Theres even Heong peanh, tambun biscuits and fresh curry leaves that can be found here. A lot of my childhood Malaysian snacks can be found here. This store is amazing!!!

Friendly staff. Has my Asian grocery essentials: 1. Mamasita packet mixes 2. Bagoong Spicy 3. Migoreng in a box! 4. Bok Choy and other greens. Can also get to it by bypassing the Canal St mayhem! The place is neat and clean. Will come here again. Veges like choy sum and bok choy look fresh. Has all the fish and soy sauce bottles you need. Did I mention firendly staff? Crazy huh?

I love this store. I've been coming for years to stock up on anything from delicious ramen to palm sugar. The shelves are stocked full of goodies from Malaysia (and more) and the staff is very friendly. The woman at the cashier always lets me charge on my card, even though I'm (typically) a dollar or two away from the minimum. On my latest visit, I was able to find everything I needed to make beef rendang and managed to get the two hardest ingredients, kaffir lime leaves and galangal, there too. Also my go-to for Asian condiments!

Specializes in Southeast Asian products. Quite comprehensive in its product offerings. Notable offerings: - Indomie's Mi Goreng & Mi Goreng Keriting Spesial (Instant noodles from Indonesia, my favorite instant noodles. If you guys haven't tried this before, do yourself a favor and give it a try) - Belachan (Shrimp Paste - Malaysian/Indonesian) - Komodo brand, Krupuk Udang - Shrimp crackers (Indonesian) (You need to fry it though) They also have lots of hard to find spices that are specific to the SEA region.

This place is pretty pricey compared to other Asian groceries in NYC, other Asian groceries back home in Melbourne, Australia (where everything is more expensive compared to America) and South East Asia (of course). This is why I don't come here for items that can be easily found elsewhere - Hong Kong Supermarket being my go-to place for more common Asian stuff. However I am ready to pay a premium for South East Asian products that are extremely hard to find in NYC including Malaysian snacks (Mamee) and kaya! The store is quite clean and well organized. The staffs are generally helpful. I don't really want to complain, given that South East Asian products are generally not as abundantly available in USA as their North East Asian counterparts, but the range is quite limited and (again) not very cheap.

This is such a great place! I dropped 40 bucks for a huge haul of all the pantry necessities for the home cook looking to work on his South Asian culinary skills. Kaffir lime leaves, lemongrass, galangal, tons of spices, spice mixes, starters, sauces, spicy chilies, noodles out the wazoo. I'm trying my hand at a home made beef rendang (got a great deal on boneless beef spare ribs at Costco), but I bought two brands of "just add whatever" mixes to see how they stack up. They also have a bunch of varieties of Possmei syrups. I got the litchi flavor one and put it in home brewed iced green tea and it's amazing because you can control the level of sweetness better. It was also like 4 bucks cheaper than on Amazon, so cha-ching! It's a little cramped, but they fit so much into what are essentially two very long aisles. The best part, though, is the people that work there. Everyone speaks English quite well and is above and beyond helpful. Sometimes as a non-Asian I dread navigating Chinese markets and being subtly made to feel like an interloper or simply being unable to transcend the cultural barrier enough to locate an item that I need, which I KNOW they stock. Such is not the case here at all. Quite the opposite, I felt completely welcomed, well-attended and they even expressed an interest in what I was making as well as an appreciation for a Caucasian interested in SE Asian cooking. Altogether a great experience, and I will definitely be back!

I've been looking for a while for a good place to pick up Thai cooking supplies, and yelp recommended this place to me. It's a lot like many of the small groceries in the area, but yes, with a more south Asian flair. I finally got green & yellow curry paste from Thailand, tamarind for making pad thai, and also picked up some Tom Yum soup mix, a nasi goreng rice spice mix from Malaysia, some Indian mint chutney, pickled shallots, and some fresh limes. The prices weren't dirt cheap, but were quite reasonable. At 7pm, they were definitely closing around my ears, but the staff was pleasant and didn't rush me to finish my shopping. They also accept credit cards. Gotta try cooking with this stuff now, but I'll very likely be back!

This is where I go for my Asian food stuffs. From white vinegar, good soy sauce, fish sauce, shrimp paste, coconut milk to lychee juice. This is the place. And of course everything is really cheap!

This is thee place for the best Durian fruit in Manhattan. If the durian with the shell doesn't look great or it's in the middle of winter, you can get frozen durian pods in the freezer. No matter what I can always get my durian fix here. Note: There's no organic options but honestly their durian is the best in Manhattan I've found.

This market is open for business and fully stocked. They have the requisite partition between cashier and customer. They stock items from China and Thailand as well as restaurant supplies. Many types of sauces and a refrigerated section. Check with them as to their hours, Chinatown closes early nowadays.

Pan-Asian wonderbodegamarket. They specialize in South East Asian ingredients and produce, yet seem to have a little bit of everything one might consider Asian. Not complete by any means, but it feels like a used bookshop where they have whatever you need tucked in a corner in the back. Definitely has the low price look and feel, but the packages are mostly fresh, the produce definitely is, and it's cheaper than any of the other stores in the area. They also had bottles of German malt soda. Which is just weird.

It's been my one-stop shopping trip for southeast Asian groceries for the better part of a decade. It's always there, and always the same, and it doesn't feel like the prices have changed too much over the years. Such a better deal than getting westernized brands of the same or inferior stuff from whole foods or wherever. They pack a ton into their tiny store. Friendly, helpful staff.

Such a convenient little market with unique southeast Asian products from Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Vietnam. As Asian as I am, I haven't seen half the products from this store anywhere else. Everything is decently priced as well. Great store for those who like home cooking because of the variety of sauce and sauce packets. I found my favorite yummy mango tamarind snacks here. I've been searching all of New York for cendol and I think I may have found it ! But it's the dried version where I have to boil the green noodles myself then add coconut milk. Still better than nothing I guess. The cashier was really nice and gave me a beautiful food calendar since it's almost New Years :)

I found dried shrimp paste, Indonesian sweet soy sauce, frozen galangal, frozen turmeric, and Chinese celery here. I was very happy. I had been looking far and wide. I found it better stocked and cheaper than Bangkok on Mosco or the Thai/Indonesian grocery on Bayard.

This place is THE best supermarket for Indonesian groceries. You can find everything from galangal, tamarind, cumin, caraway, palm sugar to Indomie (the best Indonesian instant noodle), all sorts of cooking paste (rendang, opor ayam, soto. You name it, they got it), instant ketupat (rice cakes), and this list goes on and on. They even have Tehbotol, which is the most popular tea in Indonesia. They also have a very good selection of snacks/noodles/cooking paste for Thai, Malay, and Indian cuisines. I'm so happy I found this place.

Nice quaint grocery store in Chinatown. I went there to look for some Shrimp chips and found what I wanted. They also have a whole asle devoted to noodles. I love noodles. They have a lot of sauces, spices, seeds, and such I have been looking for that I can not find in a regular grocery store, or if it is there it is way over priced. The prices here are reasonable, and nice. I may come to get some things to take home to my family in Ohio. The holidays are coming. I like to make my own gourmet baskets and such. I will surely try to find this place and shop here again.

Great place for hard-to-find Southeast Asian / Asian food products. Kaya, Pandan, Durian, Sambals... Lao Gan Ma... etc etc. Naomi and the rest of the staff are very helpful.

This little mini mart offers products from China, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Phillipines. Small selection from each country but a nice variety. I usually come here for cans of red, yellow, or green curry paste and fresh peanuts as they also carry a selection of fresh produce out front. The staff speaks Chinese and Tagalog from the experience I've had there.

I don't really know where to get ingredients to make Indonesian food in NYC so this supermarket, which is relatively close by from where I live is my go to place whenever I miss my country. Although I cannot compare it to the Netherlands, for the obvious reason that there is a huge community of Indonesians but this supermarket really don't disappoint, they deliver very well!

I found laksa and some packaged singaporean food here, a bit cheaper than buyingn them online. I also found rojak, but the rojak tasted too much like caramel and doesnt have any shrimp paste taste in it. Very typical chinatown store.

A chef who conducted a tour of her favorite grocers hipped me to this store more than 15 years ago and I have been coming back to stock up on my Thai staples ever since. The store is jam packed with any and everything you could possibly need to create South Asian meals that rival your favorite restaurant. More importantly, the staff is super helpful and make recommendations upon request.
