This place is a hidden gem. Such delicious food! Their Goat Curry is the best in my opinion. All other dishes are tasty as well. Worth the visit!

I thought i am going to a good restaurant for a good food. I ordered chicken korma and naan, and i sat on the table, in literally 2-3 minuts the food was on my table, 👌.. i was served in a plastic tray with plastic cutlery packed in plastic, no plate no bowl, hmmmm 🤔🤔 i was not served water which is the first thing you serve to you guest, well anyway, so the chicken korma that i ordered did not taste like korma at all, now i can tell cz i myself is an indian. So i can tell the taste. Horrible, i eat half of it and just could not eat anymore. So i thought lets order some gulab jamun as i have a habbit of eating some sweet after dinner. For sure i got the gulab jamun in a plastic container. You got to be kidding me...😠 as you see in the picture that gulab jamun tasted like charcoal and again i just couldn't eat charcoal in the name gulab jamun. So i got curious why the food doesn't taste you know indian? So by saying so i asked the guy on the counter, where are you from in India. He replied, he is from Bangladesh. Aaahaaaaaa.... now i get it. Not that i am againts that but that makes all the sense. So if you want the Indian taste this is definitely not the place to go to.. good luck n enjoy..

Overall, It was okay. It’s quick to grab and the price was good. I would recommend the butter chicken.

Food is good sometimes and other times it is watered down tasteless. Little crack in the wall kind of place, some staff are friendly and others will just make you regret stopping by.

Tbh I checked the place out as I loved their response to a customer saying their food was not tasty 😂 The Channa Saag is delicious! Also, they make the vindaloo as spicy as you request haha always a good thing, friendly service and lovely food, the portions are great and made to share or at least for you to eat one dish for you to be done! Overall 5 stars bc I truly loved their response and their food 😅

Came to NYC wanting to explore the food down here. Indian food was definitely on our list and we came across this little hole in the wall and all I can say is that it’s amazing! You will not be disappointed… the curry chicken is probably the best I’ve ever had. Kudos to Curry Hut for satisfying our Indian Food cravings.

This is a small, hole-in-the-wall setting for Indian Food in Midtown West, but it really does not even live up to the modest billing it poses. Their lunch deal is pretty filling, but the quality just was not there. The okra felt undercooked + totally lacked seasoning - it was as if I got a bag of frozen okra and steamed it myself before serving. The saag paneer was okay, but nothing to write home about. Portions were quite large, but the miss on quality didn't really make up for it.

So happy I didn't let some of the lower rated reviews stop me from going! This place has delicious, authentic food and the customer service is wonderful. We tried the chicken tikka masala, saag paneer, garlic naan, cheese naan and gulab jamun. Everything was devoured as soon as we got home! We walked it, ordered and received our food within 15-20 minutes and everything was super fresh and hot. We asked for Indian level spicy and they delivered. We can't wait to come back for another meal!

I've been here so many times, that I can walk in, sit down, not say a word and they just serve me my food. This is my favorite little restaurant in Mid Town Manhattan. The staff is friendly, the food is hearty, healthy, and heavenly . I typically get chicken curry over jeera rice, chickpeas and naan bread. Since I order the pre-made food, it literally takes a minute to be served, but it's always fresh. ALWAYS. At one point, I would come here three times a week and I would still be blown away about how good the food is. It was like eating for the first time, every time. My goal in life is to find a girlfriend that makes me feel the way I experience the Naan bread. But one can only dream. It seats about 12 people so at times, but most people order delivery or take out, so you should be able to find a seat.

Came back during COVID and tried the chicken vindaloo lunch platter special. Not as good as the saag paneer and lamb vindaloo I previously had (the chicken was a bit tough and the mixed vegetables were frozen and stringy) but the flavor wasn't bad and it was a massive platter for $8.99. Lunch special even applied on a Saturday! Service was also super friendly.

This is definitely a hole in the wall place. However, don't let the size or decor fool you. There is some decent cooking going on. I was in here about 1:30 pm today wanting lunch. Noticing the tables my desire was to eat there. They have a steam table but nothing labeled so I asked for chicken or goat. There was chicken tikka masala. I didn't ask if it specifically was served with something. I just asked for rice. I was asked if I was taking it to go. I said to stay. I was told to have a seat. In about 10-15 minutes I was served a tray with a plate of rice and plate of chicken tikka masala. It was very tasty. Spices blended well. Fluffy rice. After I finished eating I took the tray and plates back to the counter because I know I didn't pay. I confirmed that and was given my check. It came up to $13.05. I put the change from $15 into the tip jar.

So how did I end up here? My son fell asleep and said he want hungry. So I strolled to a dumpling place and discovered that they were closed. Planned on hitting a Pakistani place on way back to hotel because I knew it was open. Well... Sometimes you smell something! It smelled good. Went in. Ordered the lamb curry and the eggplant dish as well. They were both quite good. I cook this myself and have to say when you cook something you get overly critical of others. Not this time. Tasty and fresh on Thanksgiving nite.

During my trip to New York City, I was craving for Indian Food which I truly fell in love during my college days at Columbia University back in the 1990s. I searched "Indian Food" on Yelp and this restaurant popped up since I was staying at a hotel near Times Square. I want to applaud Yelp first for doing such a great job on connecting great restaurants. From my time of ordering to paying the bill, the service by the owner Rafik was amazing. The food was excellent of course too. I'm really glad that I came across this restaurant and I will definitely be back to try the other dishes that I haven't tried tonight.

It was a small shop, so I went to check it out without even reading the reviews. It wasn't the worst but definitely wouldn't say it was good. The service is okay. The curry wasn't too flavorful and the rice was a bit... dry? The price was cheap and the portion was enough for me to be full after the platter.

The person at the counter was very nice .was very down to earth and helped us out in choosing what to get. He also told us that there was a secret menu that you could order from. The first item that I got was garlic naan. Tasted like eating pizza crust with garlic . While it was good , it was unremarkable. The lamb curry was delicious and the rice that was included was huge in portions. Prices were also very reasonable. If your in the area for a quick bite, would totally recommend this place. the food was good and service was great.

Went here with a couple of co-workers for lunch. It is rather a tiny place that does not accommodate a restroom so go before/after somewhere else. Staff seemed busy on the phone that my order was delayed (as I am on a 1-hour break from the office) and not much attention is put on the customer. Food was ok, but I'd suggest making a trip 6 blocks up along 9th avenue to Bombay Grill House.

Places like this makes me love dining around Hell's kitchen. I dined here for a quick dinner and this place was able to give me lots of food without the frills. I would come back again if I ever was around.

Not really a fan. The Food quality in the sauce was very oily ..like the ground of a car repair shop...OILY! The potatos were very good in the sauce though. But it is super oily so its not as good as it should be, sadly. Ordered Vindaloo and it was NOT spicy at all even though I asked extra spicy to get it to a regular spice level. I Will LIKELY not be back and Ill Goto the place up the street on 50th for way better lunch specials and Quality.

deeeelish. I've brought my own to go containers and staff is fine with that (IMPORTANT AND IMPORTANT) FYI: I'm allergic to MSG and sensitive to food quality and I've NOT had an issue here.

I hope these guys do very well because they're cheap and provide something different near me. The food actually is pretty good too and they were super friendly and hospitable. For about 7 bucks you get an entree, side, soup and naan bread. What a deal. I ordered the beef curry and chicken tikka. Pretty good, it reminds me of a bunch of those places frequented by taxicab drivers. Once they get loads more customers, I think the food quality will go up due to higher turnover instead of having food sit out in steam trays.

This is the most disgusting food I have ever endured This is supposed to be tandoori mixed grill combo. It isn't any kind of grilled meat I have ever had. The "grilled meat" came doused in a disgusting brown sweet and sour sauce UGH! On top of that they didn't send one part of my order at all. And the second picture is that of uncooked bread . This is really bad , see the dark spots that's uncooked dough Avoid this place like the plague. There are plenty of good indian restaurants around. THEY SHOULD BE SHUT DOWN

Wonderful and delicious food of India and Bangladesh! Every time I eat there I'm happy! Mixed grill Tandoori is my favorite. Try the seafood special and Lamb Tika. Very friendly and welcoming staff.

Very small servings of meat and vegetable main dishes. Loads you up on rice and hopes you don't complain. Also will pull a bait and switch on online orders and say half of the items they have in the lunch special are not available and cost more when you arrive to pick up your lunch. Do not eat here.

The asian Curry Hut has reopen under new management.They seem quite nice I think they are Moslems,I say that because when I entered at around 430pm there were 3 traffic agents with beards sitting there with beards sharing the same meal,basmati rice dal,andp nan.A chinese man came in as well to order a take out meal,with samosa $2.00.They have a luncheon special but unfortunately because they dont have take out menus,I can't tell you what the choices are they do have tandoori chicken,beef,lamb,mixed vegetables.and 3 kinds of desserts including rice pudding.I had beef,with basmati rice mixed veggies.and samosa.The samosa was very very spicey with many dark round spices in it a little on the salty side,I wouldn't reorder,it will be interesting to see how Indians feel about it.I come back again just to see what they cook best.the hours and the pictures,and the prices are from the previous owner.They are open from 11am-11pm daily.Its pretty bare bones the food comes in plastic containers whether take out or eat in.Lets wish them luck!!

LOVE at first bite. For starters: I was looking at the menu contemplating my order when I called them with a question. They had the clear answer for me right away. Since I was less then a mile away from them, I ordered for delivery on the phone which they prefer. I did not use the delivery service which saved me time and money. The lady who took the order was careful and thorough in confirming the details. She gave me a delivery time and they delivered right on time. Now the food. This is authentic back home cooking. This is about genuine and real taste, texture and flavor. This is how it is done. Made me home sick even though I am not Bangladeshi. Chicken hot and spicy soup is yes, hot and spicy with right consistency and with bold flavors. Green peppers are swimming freely in the soup. Chicken biryani (mild spicy) was spicy and had a lot of chicken in it. Very flavorful. It is cooked in chicken broth with bones so the rice feels sticky. This is the authentic way to cook it. Butter chicken was also cooked well with correct spice level and consistency. The raita for the rice was thick and flavorful. The plain rice was properly cooked and each grain was standing apart (not mushy).

I ate here a bunch, good food, good prices, large portions. Meals come with rice, or they do a meal deal with rice or naan, and samosa, soup, and dessert for $15. Korma with garlic naan was my go-to. The Manchurian chicken was the only thing I didn't enjoy, tasted like ketchup with a dash of hot pepper, too sweet. Everything else I tried was great.

we just had delivery and this food is disgusting. It made both of us throw up several times. For real- like food poisoning. The chicken was dark and extra mushy, like it had been sitting around for a few days. Do NOT order from or eat here.

First of all, I would like to thank the owner for opening a different ethnic restaurant on 9th Ave because I am sick of getting Thai food near work!!!! I was delighted to find Curry Hut at the corner and I was happy the food did the job for me. I got the spicy beef curry over rice. It was not truly spicy but I understand they want to cater to the common customers. The lunch platter comes with curry beef, rice, and another side dish. Also they gave me some curry soup and naan bread. It only costs $8 and I was stuffed. The food was good and service was very friendly. I can't wait to come back for another food coma experience!

Had to kill an hour since I missed a bus at Port Authority. Didn't wanted to travel too far and stumbled upon this place which was just a block away. I had the veggie platter which came along with two vegetables and rice. You have a lot of options to pick for the two veggies. Not much aware about the non veg. The food was really good, felt like I was eating home made food.

This place is 3.5 star place but since the staff is nice and mobile doesn't allow half stars I'll push it to 4. The hardcore Indian food enthusiast will feel shorted but for someone who is looking to enjoy decent Indian food at a great price it's a good place to stop by. The tikka masala is good and the portions are generous.

The food is above average and is a nice change of pace from all the Thai restaurants that surround it. Portions are alright if you don't want to feel like a bloated pig after eating, but if your a big guy you might need a little more. The gentlemen ordering ahead of me expressed his desire for another piece of chicken or two and the owner had to problem saying you got it. Nice to see that. They have a row of benches at the front window for 2 or 3 and anther table top bench area on the other wall. Small spot, but fine for a quick lunch.

I use to come here a lot for lunch and it was really good. The food is still good although better before, but they don't give you full portions, especially rice. Rice is cheap, so you'd think they'd fill the to go plate. They no longer give salad or yogurt with the lunch special either. I know it's hot outside, but my food was cold. I think I'll be going elsewhere since there are many choices in the area for Indian food.

A casual restaurant located along Hells Kitchen. Excellent customer service & the food is great as well! Ordered the Shrimp Briyani, it was really flavourful & tasty.

Speculation was different but they really change my mind. Guys are superb. I just had egg roll and vegetable samosa, both are ostentatious(samosas were little disappointing, bt still they deserve appreciation) Remember review is just for shop, samosas and egg rolls. Nothing else, bcz I didn't taste anything else. Small shop with courage of providing tremendous service and fantastic food.

Excellent food - so why 3 stars? Unsure if it is an English language barrier or they are trying to pay rent or they just want to be strict for some purpose BUT they will not substitute side items. For instance, if you are Keto and cannot have rice, they will argue you down about it. Is spinach that much more expensive than rice? Lol My advice is to give customers choices. Sometimes customers eat low-carb or do not want big huge lunch meals. Otherwise, definitely go there and eat their delicious food.

This could have been better to be honest. I gave this place 2 tries so far and I most probably wont be back. The first time I ordered a goat curry platter from the lunch menu. It came with a meat curry and a veg curry with either a naan or rice. I wasn't even asked which I wanted. I was given rice with goat and vegetables curry. The curry's were decent but slightly sweet. The rice was not enough for the amount of curry they gave. It was merely one scoop of rice. I couldn't eat it as it had a weird smell to it and was mushy. Might have been parboiled rice. The 2nd time I thought of ordering a biryani as it might be better than a meager rice portion and sweet curry's. Well I was wrong, it was saggy and mushy. I asked for it to be spicy and its was sprinkled with chunks of cut green chilies. It tasted like I had just mixed a chicken curry with some rice and put it on a plate. Not like a real biryani. That was my last try with them. Also, the lady who is probably one of the owners always has a nasty attitude and the men working there are ogling ladies. Uncomfortable

the delivery came an hour late even though I live a few blocks from the restaurant. I ordered the lunch special and they did not include a green salad. When I called the person who answered also lied about the delivery minimum saying it was $15 when it clearly says $10 on the menu.the food was also flavourless and bland the tikkaa masaala was runny and oily and so where the vegetables. I will not be ordering from here again.SAD ! STAY AWAY MY STOMACH HURTS

Ordered tandoori chicken salad and it was the most driest chicken I have ever had in my life. And the side sauces were very artificial in color (especially the green one).

I somewhat regret this rating. The food is decent considering the price, and is extremely convenient for me since I live a block away. I have ordered pickup many times in the past three months. However, They have forgotten my rice, naan, salad, or sauce (or any combination there of) about half the time I order. Recently, the past four times in a row I ordered, they forget at least one item that comes with the order. Every time I come back to get the items or when I started checking my order in store, I have to show them their own menu to argue my case. You would think they would know me by now. The high rate of occurrence makes me wonder if they "forget" on purpose hoping people won't notice. If you choose to order pickup or delivery here, my advice is always check your order. They cannot be trusted to do it on their own.

I love Curry Hut!! Their tikka fries are an awesome novelty and taste amazing. I ate off them for 3 meals. Price is right, food is sooo tasty, and the employees are awesome. Another one of my midtown work lunch gems.

I love Indian food, but this place, let me tell you. As soon as you walk in the Owner is down your throat. The food is subpar and limited. They advertise gender neutral bathrooms and don't have any bathrooms at all. The service sucked, and the space is confining. I had to ick up the table to get behind it. The salmon they served me wasn't cleaned. Fatty, with bones, and undercooked. Never going back.

This place had me confused. Being that the food was ready made and visible behind glass panels, you'd think it'd get to you sooner rather than later. But I waited... and waited. Portion size was tiny. A small bit of rice came on a huge plate with the beef main in a little bowl. The cabbage side also came in a little bowl. You could have put all the food on the plate and still have a ton of room left over (there wasn't much to eat, so I left hungry after licking everything clean.) The thing that confused me was how they tried to make it feel upscale, but failed by cutting corners with hints of ghetto. The rice was on a uselessly huge ceramic plate, with the main and side in small ceramic bowls, the size of your cupped hand. But the kicker was how the salad was served in a cheap fold-out paper container, the type they use for street hot dogs. They even left the cheap plastic tray with all the plates on top of it. It just felt so weird eating from a nice ceramic plate that was sitting on a cheap plastic tray and poking nice silverware into a paper container with salad. Then there's the food. I chose the beef dish because the chicken, lamb and all the other dishes looked dry and tough. My choice was disappointing though. The beef was dry on the inside (wasn't cooked long enough), wasn't seasoned and it took effort to chew. The sauce was watery and tasteless. The cabbage side tasted a bit weird and it didn't have much flavor either. The rice was cooked just fine, but was a tasteless, cheap variety. For what it's worth, the salad was ok. Staff was ok. The manager looking person who took my order (at the counter by the way, not at the table) wasn't very personable and didn't offer any help. After ordering, I rechecked the menu to find that I could choose either rice or naan bread (he didn't ask which I wanted), so to test the guy, I asked if naan came with it. He said it was extra and didn't say a word about swapping it out for rice. This was a disappointing experience. Food wasn't seasoned, taste was meh, portions were small and the presentation was lacking. You couldn't tell if they were going high end or low end; you ordered from the counter, but brought you the food. When you were done, you paid at the counter. It was really weird. In the end, it felt like a glorified self serve deli where you buy food by the pound except the food wasn't that great and they charged you $11 for the experience. My ratings out of 5: Food: 2 Portions: 2.5 Service: 2 Experience: a befuddled 3 Would I come back? No. Would I recommend to others? No

Nice guys. Good, cheap, filling lunch platters (the vegetarian one is a mere $7 and comes with rice, salad, naan, soup, and 2 entrees). Not a lot of seating, but a great deal.

This is my favorite place for Indian food in this area. Unlike some of its competition, they are clean, fast, and provide excellent service. The combo options are great - I usually pick the ones that include 1 veg, 1 non-veg. (chicken/beef/lamb/goat), 1 naan with 4 pieces (or rice), and salad which costs me around 10.XX. You can also get some curries with naan/rice-salad-larger bowl of curry combo.My Indian taste-buds that are known to hate on mellowed down Indian food seems to like this place, and I recommend being more adventurous than the predictable chicken tikka masala. It can seat only 15-20 people at a time but you just can't beat this place for weekday Indian lunch near work ; most of its customers seem to prefer pickup anyway although the place is very clean. Stopping short of 5 stars since I find it to be slightly more expensive than my other lunch options (Asian, Chipotle, sandwich shops). PS: They don't accept Amex.

Walked in to get a food, absolutely amazing, clean and very friendly environment, the lady serving make you feel soo comfortable, make u wanna come back tomorrow. Food is delicious and very very good. 100% recommended.

I'm not a picky eater. But this place was not good. Their chicken makhani tasted like tomato sauce. Samosas were greasy. Very disappointing.

Worst service ever! Paid for the dish, didn't get it as it was not available. Didn't respond to any requests made. Don't waste money at this place!!

Love this place! Clean, cozy, and the staff is very friendly and accommodating. But most importantly the food is so yummy!! Spinach saag is creamy and damn good, never tastes old like many other Indian places that aren't as good as Curry Hut. Lamb is juicy and tender! I love lamb and really appreciate it is never dry here, just perfectly cooked. All sauces are on point. Mango lassi is great. Haven't tried tikka masala yet but I urge others to branch out of that and try the lamb and the spinach saag, amazing stuff and perfectly balanced :) I come here for lunch often, so far what I have tried has remained consistently tasty and juicy.

It is a surprisingly good Indian restaurant. Ordered goat curry and goat vindaloo - the meat was very tender and flavorful (with real spices), but not overly salty like lots of other Indian restaurants I tried before. The portion is big and it is a very satisfactory dining experience!

So incredibly disappointing. This was just not that great unfortunately. I was rooting for it, way too much oil in their food.
