"Seattle is known for teriyaki, but it can be nearly-impossible to find gluten-free options. In Redmond, Asiana Bistro’s teriyaki is charbroiled, served with steamed rice and salad to enjoy every last bite. All the Chinese, Korean, and Japanese dishes are cooked with gluten-free soy sauce because the original owner was celiac. The only items on the menu made with wheat are the udon and yakisoba noodles, katsu, gyoza, and wontons." - Dylan Joffe, Maggy Lehmicke, Sabra Boyd

Google
Great food. Top tier teriyaki. Recommend ordering an extra sauce. The sushi options online don’t represent all they can do. Salmon Nigiri is $8 for a 2 piece order. I found the salmon nigiri was better tasting and a better deal than the salmon roll. The salmon roll, while affordable doesn’t have the flavor or other places slightly more expensive more complex rolls. Affordable prices. Large portion sizes. The pad Thai was really good. Expansive selection.

Google
Best poke bowl I’ve ever had. Ordered the poke salad with a side of rice. Add seaweed. Amazing. Sprouts, cabbage, beet, caviar, tuna, seaweed — Delicious flavors. Beautiful presentation. Cost about $22, worth it

Google
Fast, fresh, moderately priced. Paid around $80 for two salmon avocado rolls and two orange chicken dishes (good size, each came with two balls of rice), all to go, plus 10% tip.

The owner and workers were so friendly and could tell they care alot about their customers ! The portions are big and its worth the buck you spend. The yakisoba and chow fun is my fav. Well seasoned and cooked. Ate with my family here and will be coming again. Unagi sushi is so good

Google
The only place in America that makes fried rice the right way. I've been to so many Asian restaurants that served fried rice, only to be disappointed. I only discovered Asiana recently and had their fried rice. They make it with love and time just like my dad used to make it when I was younger. Each grain is browned by sauce, shiny, and charred just enough at the edges to give it a rich and satisfying taste. Too many other restaurants just cheat by adding food coloring to their rice or lightly fry it or drown it in sauce and then add veggies, but you actually need to use the right amount of ingredients and cook it long enough with the right equipment to make it perfect. Writing this review because I just recently discovered that Asiana closed and has been replaced by a new Japanese restaurant. I'm sure it is good, but I will once again need to search for a new restaurant that makes the fried rice right. I hope the previous owners/chefs open a new restaurant elsewhere -- I'll drive as far as I need to to get that fried rice!

Google
This place is amazing! Lots of variety! They have pho soup, chicken katsu and teriyaki as well as Boba Aka bubble tea, lots of choice for every food texture and desire! The food is hot, fresh, delicious and made to order! I love coming and eating here every time I come to redmond!

David Ren

Google
I ordered chicken katsu but I was disappointed. The chicken was over cooked and hard to chewing. A good chicken katsu should be crispy and tender, but this one is not. Based on this, my rate to it is 3 stars.

Eleni

Google
Always delicious, chicken teriyaki was perfect and general tso’s was so good, just the right amount of spice! Love that it’s gluten free and I can enjoy such amazing food!

Yelp
Best place with the Very best food and awesome new owners that treat you like family. I will be a life long customer. Victor wilson

Yelp
TL;DR No glutton free option. Chicken cooked right. Good marinades without being too salty or sweet. I usually don't even bother trying a restaurant with 3 stars but after reading how folks were disappointed when the place discontinued glutton free dishes, I thought I should give it a shot. I can see how those folks could be upset but then again I also respect the decision the business owner had to make. If you are looking for glutton free, find a different place. I ordered a couple of dishes. Spicy teriyaki, and Teriyaki & General Tso combo. I had a choice of regular, brown or fried rice. I chose the fried rice. As I noted in other reviews, I cannot stand any dish that is too salty or sweet. This is one of the reasons why I typically avoid Teriyaki place. I would say this place is just right. You can still taste the chicken meat but still well seasoned. It was grilled to perfection. As for the spicy teriyaki, each teriyaki joint tends to have their own way of making it spicy. Some uses pretty runny spicy liquid mix with sugar and others use a thick BBQ like spicy sauce. This place has its own spicy sauce that is neither runny nor thick. It is pretty spicy but also tasty . Also, the portion was pretty generous. Two orders were big enough for a party of 3 and some. As for the salad dressing, nothing to write about. I wish they used the sesame dressing but am sure not everyone likes that. Finally, the service was excellent too. Come check it out. As long as you are not looking for a glutton free meal, you will be delighted.

Yelp
This isn't the same Asiana anymore. Half of my order was incorrect and one meal was missing entirely. They couldn't do two meals because they were out. What is even worse was that they've compromised so much on the fresh ingredients that made Asiana amazing. They're using frozen vegetables and the dressing was watered down. The mushroom chicken was their regular teriyaki chicken with mushrooms on top. Plus, they've moved away from gluten free. They offered to do chicken katsu without gluten free meaning they're doing gluten in the fryer now - no longer celiac safe. I miss the old owners and I miss the higher food standards. It's definitely no longer worth the drive.

Yelp
Ever since the original owner retired this place has been going down hill. The 'salad' I received with my chicken teriyaki is not edible. I can't tell if it's suppose to be a hot or cold salad. But it is terrible. Also it's no longer a gluten free Mecca. Just regular teriyaki place that is not up to par with other local places. Hopefully the new owners can get it sorted out. Because it has gone from our favorite take out, to a place to avoid.

Yelp
The food in this restaurant is not cheap, and it tastes terrible! I believe that if you try it once, it will be unbearable! Korean restaurant, this one is the worst!

Hanna S.

Yelp
1. Average. 2. Good selection of plant based and gluten free options 3. Food was ok but felt like canned ans frozen veggies. Same wirh the noodles 4. Hot and sour soup was ok but when we took it out of Fridge the next day was like sludge. Lots of oil? 5. Nice to support small local places but otherwise did not do it for me. Will not be returning. Yet you might like to try it yourself.

Amanda K.

Yelp
This was a place we used to go out of our way to get food from (drive all the way to Redmond) and when in Redmond, we'd ALWAYS go here because they were the only place we knew of that offered gluten free teriyaki (and it was delicious). My understanding is that the new owners promised to keep the gluten free offerings and the old owners even spent time teaching them how to properly prepare everything gluten free - and then the new owners decided to no longer offer gluten free. What a disappointment and such a mistake. The reason they were special was they offered gluten free options and were well known for it. Hopefully the new management realizes their mistake quickly and makes adjustments but in the meantime, we certainly won't be back.

Victoria B.

Yelp
The food was incredibly delicious. Menu had great variety, big flavors and the food was piping hot. Really, really good. Some restaurants are "caveat" restaurants, like "it was good--for a gluten free place," but Asiana Bistro is just plain great. Owners are very kind, too. GO HERE!

Wendy H.

Yelp
The low stars might put some people off to this place but take my word for it - GO! I flew in from Los Angeles for a wedding and was starving so I picked a random shopping center and went with what I found. Thank goodness it was Asiana Bistro. The warm welcome was so kind and the food was outstanding! I got the Garlic Tofu and it came out so piping hot, you knew it was fresh. They were not shy with the garlic, tofu, or rice! My mom got the Shrimp Pho and was in love with it. I can confidently say it's in the top 3 best Asian restaurants I've had and you will not be disappointed coming here!

Yelp
We finally made the 45 minute trek to Redmond (from west Seattle) to Asiana Bistro. I'd been putting it off since the WS bridge is out and we haven't been leaving the house often since COVID-19. However, I have heard non stop good things about their gluten free food that I finally decided to go check it out! I'm so glad I did! There was nobody in line when we came in around 6:30 on Saturday. Sue, the owner, was really nice and answered all my questions about allergens (since our family has a combined gluten, dairy, and egg allergies). It was so relieving to see no gluten or dairy! Sue is celiac herself so she understands allergies! They do use a small amount of egg in most other dishes besides the chicken teriyaki, so that is what my husband ordered. I got sweet and sour chicken because I can never have that gluten free! I also asked if sue could make us up something that we could share and would be safe for all the allergies and she made a chicken veggie stir fry type dish. Everything was really good! She said it would be about 30 mins until ready as they had a lot of orders, which we didn't mind. I'd rather it be fresh! We walked to Whole Foods across the parking lot and picked up dessert while we waited. I would have given them 5 stars but my husband had a stomach ache this morning which happens when he eats eggs, so potentially our shared dish may have had some cross contamination with egg on the cooking equipment. I will say though, it is so hard to find celiac safe places to eat, especially Chinese style foods. Asiana Bistro Teriyaki was fantastic and safe! I will definitely return.

Yelp
The restaurant owner is very nice and food is good. Inflation has caused prices to rise, but the owner gave extra portions to make sure we're well fed! Please support this awesome place!

Rafi M.

Yelp
Finding a Chinese and Japanese restaurant that offers over 50 gluten free dishes is often impossible to find!! I am thankful this place exists!! Furthermore, the owner is familiar with all the ingredients and takes allergies very seriously. This was important, because my mom has a seafood allergy and I was ordering food for the both of us. My mom didn't have an allergic reaction, and we are grateful for the cleanliness of the place. We did take out, and I wish there was an option to place an order online or through an app. For the food itself, I loved everything that I ordered. Each dish had a distinct flavor, and the food wasn't mushy or greasy. I loved the fried rice, and it's so hard to find gluten free fried rice. The general tso chicken was great as well as the cashew chicken. I look forward to trying more dishes over time!! Another win for this place is the prices! The prices are super reasonable and food quantity is perfect.

Elisabeth P.

Yelp
We've been frequenting this place since moving to Redmond. Gluten free beef and broccoli? No wheat general Tso chicken? It could only be more of a dream come true if their pot-stickers were nommable, but unfortunately my mother was right..we can't have everything in life. The owner is actually celiac and takes great precautions in the kitchen even making sure to separate gluten and non gluten items in different bags when wrapping up a to go order. The gf options on the menu are pretty extensive with almost any vegetable and or meat dish made naturally gf. I love that I don't even have to tell them "allergy precautions" when i put in the order..its like they just get me..finally i feel understood in life. Some of our favorites here have been the beef with broccoli and the general tso and orange chickens. I usually sit and stare into the little kitchen drooling on their countertops while waiting for my food, but if you do want to pop over to whole foods or grab a coffee next door, these guys will have your noms packaged up pretty as a present in generally 15 mins or so. Price is good and reasonable, food is fresh and delicious, and there are always good portion sizes. That is, unless I've already blown my diet for the day then its a free for all and I can finish off a whole carton no prob.

Travis T.

Yelp
Their PHO is out of this world.... their broth is fantastic. Go with the brisket or the chicken. You won't be disappointed.

Victoria C.

Yelp
Since we first started coming here the owner has been so kind and inviting, I love the atmosphere! The food is also bomb, I ordered chicken phad thai and it was amazing.

Tommy S.

Yelp
Seattle Gluten free posted a Facebook picture of a sign on the window that the gluten free offerings at Asiana are discontinued for now. The website doesn't indicate this change so I hope others GF customers don't order over the phone and make the long pilgrimage there. This change seems to predict that so many customers will be lost. I used to drive 25 miles round trip to get good GF teriyaki but no longer. Sorry that what was so good has gone to nothing special and not edible for GF folks. Owners---Update the website please to reflect business decisions about GF.

Melissa N.

Yelp
This was one of our favorite restaurants, and one of the few that had been safe for celiac and those gluten free. We ordered several dishes there a few weeks ago and all of them were bland, mushy and flavorless with barely any sauces (both the GF and not gluten free dishes we ordered). It was a complete 180 from the prior owners. It was also just announced that they decided to stop serving gluten free options now, but given how bad the food is now, we weren't planning to return. Devastating to see a restaurant go down hill so fast,

Matthew K.

Yelp
Sadly, they no longer serve gluten free Chinese food. I've been eating here off and on, depending on when I was in this state, for over 7 years. I had a great relationship with the owners and strongly encouraged them to raise their prices, because I knew how close to the bone they were operating. I've eaten gluten free Chinese food in other places but, by far, they were the best. I was glad to see the renovation of the shop and I had hoped they found and trained younger people to run the store, because I knew how overworked the two of them could get on busy nights. However, it appears new management is cost focused. As a business owner, I understand that supporting a dietary group might seem like an loss leader, when you can purchase cheaper ingredients and focus on a larger potential customer base. I wish them the best of luck, in moving the restaurant towards a more general audience, unfortunately that does mean some of their die hard customers will no longer be able to dine there.

Suzie G.

Yelp
O M Goodness - if you haven't eaten yet grab your coat and head over NOW! New owners, updated atmosphere and a terrific menu is not to be missed. We started with their short ribs - Wow - the best in the area. They were tender, full of flavor and fell off the bone. We've also enjoyed the fresh Orange Chicken, Garlic Chicken, Yakisoba and Mongolian Beef. We've decided that whatever we choose, we won't be disappointed.. Want a sweet treat? THEY HAVE BOBA! Is your coat on yet? Head out now and enjoy some of the best food in Redmond - we just left but will be back - soon!

Jeremy P.

Yelp
No longer gluten free. When the previous owners retired and sold the business I was afraid this might happen, but the new owners assured me they would continue GF. When I spoke to them today they sited cost of GF foods, and they said they could not raise prices again. This was the only place I could eat Teriyaki and Chinese food due to Celiac disease. My disappointment has no end.

Kiana B.

Yelp
This place was phenomenal! A treasure trove for all, whether you're gluten free or not. Everything was so flavorful, thank you so much for the delicious food and great service.

Alyssa A.

Yelp
Very upset about this dish. My mom brought home Asiana Bistro for us tonight and to my and my little sister surprise they didn't reheat the orange chicken long enough because my sister mixed the chicken so she could get sauce all over and the first piece of chicken she bites in is Cold. We began to taste more of the chicken and we came across Warm and cold pieces. My mom said she waited for the food to be made but with the other dishes she ordered I assume the cook just grabbed the chicken from the freezer and tossed it into the wok and reheated fast. There was also ZERO sauce. Needless to say we don't live that close to go back so it's gone in the trash. Hoping we don't get sick.

Mike R.

Yelp
I went back after being gone for 7 years and it had changed owners. I got the veggie fried rice, anyway, and while really good, it was different. Wish I knew where the last owners went to so I could go to their new place! If they opened one. But, again, the veggie fried rice I got today WAS good. I enjoyed it and the menu looked tasty. So I'd go there and try something again.

Nancy B.

Yelp
Stopped here when this place first opened. Food was...just okay. Years later, I stopped again due to convenience and their sign touting more natural products out front. Ordered the standard teriyaki chicken for about $13 (yikes) . Chicken itself was good, teriyaki sauce was NOT good. 30 minutes later, ears ringing and headache....MSG! It can't be that hard to have decent non-MSG sauce. Salad, as with most Teriyaki places, is fairly worthless. Too bad, it would be good if this place was good.

Alek H.

Yelp
The food is so good. And the guy upfront was so pleasant! As good as it gets. Thanks for the delicious food and the amazing attitude!!!

Cindy G.

Yelp
For those that loved the gluten free....I have many celiac acquaintances that have been glutened and have been very sick.. So avoid or talk to the owners if you have celiac and want gluten free.

Harshad S.

Yelp
New owners == Panda Express like food at restaurant quality cost. We so miss old owners, the food was prepared with love and didn't feel greasy. The new owners disregarded the feedback and are only here for the $$$. I will not visit again.

Evana G.

Yelp
The younger woman who handles the cash register is a nasty person. I'll never get food from here again. She grossly overcharged us, and then pretended that she was calling the owner - spoke in Korean and when I asked to speak to them, she spat her words "go away."

Sarah W.

Yelp
Ordered the Tofu Yakisoba, which was a bit overpriced. Tofu option was more expensive despite being much cheaper than chicken. Good portion size. Cashier didn't seem to know what vegan meant. Many boxes lined the walls. Everything was served in styrofoam, even if you were dining in. No compost bin available and no clearly labeled recycling bin. Staff was nice. Many bottled drink options. No alcoholic beverages. Wouldn't recommend for sensory challenged. Chairs seem to move around easily, so it could likely accommodate a larger group. Vegan options were not clearly marked. Temperature was a bit high, but not overly so (78?). Due to a lack of environmental consciousness in the establishment, I'm not sure that I'll return.

Connie O.

Yelp
Extremely friendly and efficient. Place looks clean and very well kept. Great place for some teriyaki takeout. Inside is pretty decent sized and comfortable. Menu says they'll have bubble tea coming soon which should be neat. I got the chicken teriyaki and chicken katsu combo which was great. The chicken katsu was extra crunchy from the breading which I particularly enjoyed. My partner said he definitely preferred the teriyaki chicken over other near by places we frequent. It was a friendly environment, I'd love to support this business. I'd come back again.

Lisa L.

Yelp
This place has been advertised as Gluten Free for years! I've been coming here for over 5 years and on top of drastically increasing their prices to double during COVID, they recently switched to no longer gluten free. It says nothing about this on their website, everything still says gluten free. I placed an order and paid for it online with everything that says GLUTEN FREE and went to pick it up to a sign on the door saying "no longer gluten free." I now have $50 of food that no one can eat and no refund.

Pam B.

Yelp
NOT GLUTEN FREE!! We have eaten here several times and also ordered delivery. Tonight we ordered , when we received our order it was totally different we called to confirm that it was still gluten free, when we asked to talk to a manager he refused to talk to us. The server said they put on their website that it was changing the menu and will no longer offer gluten free, as of tonight we could not find where it had the change. We will not be ordering here again!

Tim B.

Yelp
Long time customer of this place but the recent owners have changed the teriyaki sauce and made the salads absolutely terrible. This used to be one of our favorite places to eat on a weekly basis, but we will not be going back. :(

Stephanie T.

Yelp
My daughter and I stopped to grab dinner here one night to try something new, instead of Chipotle (again!). We are hooked and now stop every week! The food is prepared quickly and is delicious! The owners and staff are so kind to us every time we are there. Everything we have tried so far is wonderful and we are looking forward to even more menu options.

Melody H.

Yelp
The food quality was a little uneven after the new owners fully took over, but over the past 6 months it has gone from not-so-great to inedible. We held on hoping for the best, visiting at least eight times since the ownership change, because as a family with a celiac member we don't have a lot of dining out options. But prices continue to go up at this restaurant while the food quality goes down. The cooks no longer use fresh vegetables, the meats are tough or excessively fatty and often flavorless, and last time even the white rice was gross. A mushy overcooked clump. The last two times we ended up tossing most of the food. Honestly, an Asian-style TV dinner would have been better. So, sadly, after years of eating here almost weekly, we will not be back. Subpar ingredients, lack of skilled preparation, and service that leaves you wanting. No thanks.

Robert B.

Yelp
I've been multiple times and all have been excellent experiences both food and service wise. The salmon teriyaki is great and so is the egg drop soup. The service is very friendly and attentive. I look forward to my next visit.

Izzy J.

Yelp
This was the best place before the new owners. I guess people with Celiac disease are no longer important. I miss the old owners... don't go here.

Christina C.

Yelp
ATTENTION GLUTEN FREE DINERS: I found out today that this restaurant will no longer be offering a GF menu. When they run out of GF teriyaki sauce, they will be switching to a non GF menu. Please be sure to ask if they still have GF items when you order. It's unfortunate, this has been my go to place for GF Chicken Teriyaki and other GF items, but it looks like today will be my last time visiting here. It's no hardship really, it's clear after today's order that they have changed the teriyaki recipe (and it's not good). The previous owners teryaki was by far, superior in flavor and the previous owner was super nice and accomodating.

Neil G.

Yelp
Avoid this place at all cost and save your hard earned money. I concur with the previous Yelpers that this place's sweet & sour and teriyaki chicken do taste like cardboard. The best part is it's $18. One thing for sure, they're neither authentic Japanese nor Chinese. If you thought Panda Express is terrible, this is beyond worse. One star for decent job at marketing. To top it off, they dumped the super hot oil from cooking straight into the styrofoam container & it deformed it, enough to get me stomachache, possibly from the melted plastic. Please go to Chipotle or buy anything from Whole Foods, don't get disappointed, and you won't eat styrofoam sauce.

Jeremy C.

Yelp
The food was average at best. I had chow mein that wasn't chow mein it was yakisoba. It was also very greasy and used way too much rehydrated mushrooms, it's all I tasted. They also don't enforce the mask mandate. There's a sign on the door and they're wearing masks, but 4 customers in a row came in with no mask to order food and waited in the building walking around with no mask and nothing was said to them. One of them even walked in with a mask and took it off after seeing the others not wearing one.

Laura R.

Yelp
We love their 58 gluten free dishes.and friendly service. The portions are generous and the prices are good. We also live the teriyaki sauce. This is delicious whether or not you are gluten free. Highly recommended!!

Adam R.

Yelp
If you are interested in gluten free food, SKIP THIS PLACE!!! I went to their website to check before visiting and it advertises a GF menu but when I arrived their was a sign on the door saying it was discontinued. UPDATE YOUR WEBSITE BEFORE WASTING PEOPLE'S TIME! Round trip I wasted almost an hour because of these liars. Disgusting.

Sarah H.

Yelp
I used to love going here under the previous owners for the gluten-free teriyaki -- but I had a reaction to something this time. We won't be going back unless I hear they've fixed the problem.

Iphone B.

Yelp
I went to Asians Bistro and I immediately loved it they treat you you like you are family and the food tastes so sooo good!! I have never had better pork teriyaki, ever. 10/10 would highly recommend.

Gauri D.

Yelp
I LOVEEEE the food at Asiana. The staff are very polite and accommodating. I find myself always craving their food. I'm vegetarian and they have lots of vegetarian options as well. Place feels super clean and put together. Portion sizes are very generous as well. 10/10 would recommend!

Allie K.

Yelp
We've been meaning to try this place for ages. They advertise gluten free Chinese food which is tough to find in this area. Since we live in Everett, it's a bit out of the way. Today we tried the orange chicken and the egg drop soup. Both were absolutely delicious- even after my fiancé took 40 minutes to drive it home. Each order of soup is made to order, and it shows. And chicken was wonderful and flavorful. Nothing was too salty. The owner is celiac, so she takes great precautions with cross contamination. She's very friendly and knowledgeable about her food, and open to new gluten free ideas. Well definitely return even though it's out of the way!

Terri H.

Yelp
I am a celiac in mourning. I've been coming here regularly for many many years, purely because the previous owners (we miss you!) and initially the new owners provided reasonably yummy gluten free food. BUT NO MORE GLUTEN FREE. Tonight when I picked up my order (ordered online from the website proudly proclaiming "gluten free!) I saw their sign advising they were no longer providing gluten free food. The owner confirmed they would be correcting the website, and they kindly remade my food for this round. But after 15+ years I cannot return, and honestly the food really isn't good enough to justify the price for anyone non-celiac with other options. I hope the business survives, but I suspect the new owners have no idea how much of their clientele tolerated the hit-or-miss quality purely because of the gluten-free benefit.

M S.

Yelp
Got spicy teriyaki, lots of blackened pieces, given to go box when I was eating in, avoid.

Bobo J.

Yelp
Love at first bite! I drove three hours out of my way to get this delicious food, and I'm so happy that I did! The owner has celiac disease and prides herself on her safe kitchen. I had the hot and sour soup, super spicy and yummy, and the tofu spicy black bean with brown rice. This food is prepared with care, and for anyone with celiac disease, getting safe gluten free food is an amazing treat! I'll definitely drive the distance to eat here again soon!

Tia A.

Yelp
The food is great but the owner takes a little time to adjust to. She is a sweet lady but a loud one. So if you're not used to really loud conversations, the owner will come off as a little rude(happened with me :P). But a great spot for quick lunches, no msg and lots of gluten free options. I wish they served soup for lunch too. Other than that, I'm definitely returning. One of my go-to lunch spots.
