The 22 Best Restaurants and Vineyards in İzmir, Turkey | Eater

"A great calm permeates the garden of Asma Yaprağı. Tables are scattered around olive trees and all sorts of flowers, interspersed with several tastefully decorated greenhouses (one for winter dining, two for special events) and a store selling pantry items. While the restaurant offers breakfast, stop by for lunch or dinner, when colorful, heaping dishes are set on a long wooden table in the kitchen. Options might include sinkonta (baked pumpkin and onions), stuffed zucchini blossoms, rice with artichokes and fava beans, ot köftesi (wild greens fritters), vişneli yaprak sarma (rice-stuffed grape leaves cooked with sour cherry), bostandan salata (salad of garden produce), olive oil-braised artichokes, zucchini with tulum (goat’s milk cheese) and pine nuts, purslane with strawberries, tarçınlı yoğurtlu sahan köfte (meatballs with yogurt and cinnamon), or tandoori lamb. If you can somehow save some room, the desserts are worth it." - Tuba Şatana

We visited this restaurant after checking the hours on Google Maps, but unfortunately the timing was incorrect — they actually open for lunch at 2 PM, so we had to leave and return later. The place itself is quiet, beautifully decorated, and has a pleasant ambiance. The food tasted amazing — definitely one of the highlights. However, the pricing was surprisingly high for what was offered. While we understand that restaurants can charge according to their standards, it's only fair that prices are clearly displayed for each dish. When we arrived, the chef spoke very quickly and his English was quite difficult to understand. We asked for a price list but were told, “Don’t worry, just pick what you need.” We selected three items, but were then told we needed to order a minimum of five. This led to confusion, and in the end, we were charged per dish without ever knowing the cost upfront. Despite the great taste and nice setting, we left feeling taken advantage of as tourists. It felt like there was an attempt to overcharge us due to miscommunication, which left a bad impression. Clear pricing and better communication would make a big difference here.

We went there with positive expectations but were somewhat disappointed by the experience. They do have the Michelin plate, but food is not up to expectations and quite overpriced. There is no mention of food priced unless you ask and the starters are way too expensive for homemade cooking from a farm. Be aware

Amazing experience at farm house where you can enjoy the great taste of organic homemade food. Freshly made from the farm crops. The vibes and the atmosphere makes were amazing. Totally recommend when you’re visiting around here.

An absolutely delightful experience. It was my first visit to Asma Yaprağı, and it exceeded all expectations. The dishes were exquisitely prepared, each one bursting with the fresh, authentic flavors of the Aegean. The stuffed zucchini blossoms and olive oil-based appetizers were particularly memorable. The garden offered a magical setting, dining under the trees with soft, ambient lighting created an atmosphere that was both elegant and serene. Indoors, the charming decor evoked a sense of nostalgia, reminiscent of a lovingly curated countryside home. Every detail, from the vintage plates to the herb-filled kitchen, added to the restaurant’s warm and timeless character. The staff was gracious and attentive, making the entire evening feel truly special. Asma Yaprağı is a must-visit for anyone seeking an authentic and tasteful experience in Alaçatı.

I came in with high expectations and left very disappointed. I am honestly not sure why this place is in the Michelin guide. The food is fine - but no more than that. There were some interesting dishes but most did not have any memorable qualities. Plus, they are all reheated - you select what you want and they heat it up for you. This led to uneven food temperatures and unappetizing consistencies. What makes all of this even worse is the price. This was our most expensive meal in Turkey over two weeks - including multiple meals for 4 (and this one was for 2, with no alcohol!). Each dish was over 500 TRY, a significant sum for essentially large appetizers, almost all of which are meatless. The setting is nice, and the home-style concept is appealing, but save your money for other meals.

We visited the restaurant on a Monday for lunch, a taxi driver recommended this place to us, and we decided to visit. I was surprised by the beautiful garden and the ambience of the area. It is beautifully decorated, accompanied by some low music in the background. The staff was extremely friendly and mostly spoke perfect English, something that definitely added to the experience. The location is quite far away from both alacati and Cesme, unless you have a car. A taxi ride there will set you back around 350tl from alacati or Cesme. The food was ok, I really enjoyed the lamb and the pumpkin plate. We were also recommended some wine (vourla) that I really enjoyed and would definitely recommend. The prices are kinda expensive, but not too bad. Overall I would say it was a pretty memorable experience, mostly because of the garden, the food was good but nothing special. I would definitely recommend it if you are in the area!

Beautiful setting and atmosphere. The food was great and the chef talked us through all the mezze options. He did tell us to have 5 and that was too much. Would recommend but it’s really off putting having smokers puffing away non stop next to you. They should have a smoking and non smoking section. It does ruin the experience a bit.
