Google
My fave store for wine in the neighborhood. Really great wine selection..they always have my favorites and the staff is super helpful with recommendations when I wanna try something new. Solid liquor selection as well. Reasonable prices. Welcoming atmosphere, always clean and well maintained. And I love that they sell artwork that changes regularly.

This is my go to store, the owner is so nice and they are never out of what I “need” (lol). Frequent wine tastings are a fun way to meet a neighbor and try something new. Prices are reasonable and it’s always clean and inviting 🤗

Google
Friendly neighborhood establishment. There was a nice selection of wine and spirits, with a friendly checkout human.

Google
A great selection and an inviting, well kept store. Staff is always helpful and knowledgable. I appreciate that they support the local scene by keeping a table with neighborhood events and local business cards. Their wine tastings are also fun.

Yelp
a very good liquor store in astoria near the family friendly park , spacious ,plenty of room to roam and grab a bottle here and a bottle there. nicely organized bottles on shelves and stands front to back and all around which made my visit a quick and simple one .they got plenty of assorted booze with wines being the main event .i had a list and so glad they have the 4 bottles i needed and prices are reasonable compared to manhattan. they have occasional wine tasting and social events but i dont drink so i think i will skip that part. overall a nice neighborhood booze shop in astoria that has mucho variety of liquor at prices that wont make you tipsy.

Yelp
This is my go to wine spot, they have been very friendly and helpful! I like their bang for your buck section.

Yelp
This review is based on the current COVID situation (May). I'm a big supporter of supporting local and love how a lot of places have revamped their websites and for safety precautions provide a delivery and takeout service. I picked this place because I needed to send a birthday gift to a friend that lived nearby. The website to order from is super user friendly. I was very pleased with their selection and am completely understanding that not everything will be in stock due to the situation. They even had time slots for deliveries which was a huge plus. Once you complete your order you get text alerts which is super helpful. Support Local and give this place a shot for any of your alcohol needs if you live in the area or want to send a gift to somebody that lives close by.

Yelp
Caveat: review based on delivery service only. Opposed to many shops I have tried through concierge delivery service in both this area of Astoria and FiDi, APWS actually had everything I put in my cart. Could've used a bit more of an enthusiastic customer service approach when I called to inquire about those items. But they're offering a nice selection of accessibly affordable options through to top shelf. My delivery arrived within the requested window, and was packaged well. I'll try them again, and pop in if I ever wander by.

Yelp
Staff is amazing, they remember you. Great selection, and they have a rewards program. They are very safe in regard to covid, they limit how many people are in the store. If I could give more stars I would. Good people.

Yelp
I have a friend who lives in Astoria and I called to have something delivered to her for her Bday! They were so friendly and helpful! My friend said the delivery (even in this terrible time) was fantastic! I'm so happy to know about this place! Thanks so much!

Yelp
For a small place, Astoria Park Wine and Spirits has gotten a big reputation, and for good reason. The selection is pretty good, especially considering the size of the store. Personally, I like the whiskeys they carry, from single malt scotches to Irish whiskeys to Bourbons. The whiskeys are high quality, and the prices aren't bad either. The staff are very helpful and amazingly informed. They know their products inside and out, and their recommendations have been wonderful. They do have a kind of frequent-buyer program: you save $5 for every $100 spent. On Fridays they usually have wine or liquor tastings. They are fun to check out. At one tasting, I discovered Queens Courage, a locally made gin. I am not a gin drinker, but I really liked it. Definitely check this place out!!!

Yelp
When I lived down the block this was my go-to liquor store. Great staff and so friendly. They have a good points system for each time you buy something. The best bang for your buck wine shelfs are awesome and they really know their wines there. Each wine they carry is hand picked and they will spend the time to help you get the best choice. I really miss this place but if you are looking for a great wine spot to grab something to pair with dinner or maybe you want to bring a bottle for visiting a friends house... this is the Place.

Yelp
These guys are a neighborhood staple with great prices and even better customer service! I placed an order yesterday through a 3rd party app and there was an issue with delivery- which ultimately resulted in my having to cancel.. The owner, Sean, was very gracious in assisting me and in fact just moments ago sent a SURPRISE courtesy bottle to my apartment (which appears to be of decidedly higher quality than what I originally bought!) I've been advised and would like to share with the public at large that ordering thru their website @ astoriaparkwine.com will help streamline the 'contactless' process and lessen wait time. Support local folks during Covid!! Astoria Park just made my day. Highly recommended. Thanks again Sean.

Yelp
Great wine shop that offers a nice assortment of wines and liquors despite it's small size. I love the adorable seasonal window displays. Right now they have a summer picnic display that is quite swank. They really try to get involved with the neighborhood, which I think has created a loyal following (myself included). Additionally, they have regular wine tastings, and offer a reward points program for money spent. The "bang for your buck" wall has great deals and is worth checking out. The staff is tops. They are very knowledgable and friendly, not pretentious like many wine shops tend to be. The location is conveniently on the way to Astoria Park, and perfect for a stop to grab a bottle for a picnic in the park. I will definitely return to this charming establishment.

Yelp
Astoria Park Wine & Spirits held their "Grand Opening" in my neighborhood tonight, and I say welcome. Thank you for the spread you put out that included an assortment of cheeses, fruits and vegetables. Thank you for the samples of sparkling, fine wine. Your ambience is perfectly subdued, and your space is architectually beautiful. Your staff is charming. Best wishes for your success!

Kate C.

Yelp
They have a great selection. For a small space I've been able to track down some more specific wine types. Knowledgeable staff (although one person did mansplain what "trocken" means when I asked for a dry Riesling.)

Yelp
I have been frequenting APW&S for about a year. This establishment and it's staff are basically the best. By and far this wine shop is one of my favorite Astoria-Ditmars businesses. My top reasons you should buy your wine here: 1. Staff is top notch. Their customer service is unmatched (as far I have experienced at other wine shops in the neighborhood - yea, that's right, I'm looking at you Jolsen's and you crappy attitude). Most times when I'm there I will ask whoever is working for a recommendation. Typically the Scottish / American gentleman assists me with finding something exceptionally tasty and within my budget. 2. They have a large case titled "Bang for your Buck" that consist of bottles that are inexpensive / reasonably priced (most seem to fall in the $9 - $12 range) and don't taste like swill. This is a favorite of mine because while I love wine, I don't know jack about wine, so it's nice to have an area with easily over 30 varieties for me to try without breaking the bank. 3. There is a rewards program! I don't know about you but I love me some perks. On your birthday you get 10% off, and there is a point system for every dollar you spend. I can't remember how many but at some point you end up with $5 off your purchase when you hit that mark. There are additional discounts / promotions for reward card holders. Important to keep in mind that the membership is free. 4. Friday evenings there are wine tastings. If you are inquisitive, you can learn a lot at these sessions. Also, free wine!

Yelp
I don't live in Astoria anymore, but this is definitely one of those businesses I'm rooting for. The area needs a slightly upscale, but unpretentious wine shop desparately. Jolston's under the train is a hopeless mess (their idea of helping pick a wine is to ask, "Sweet or not"?, as is the newly relocated Omega. While I haven't found the shop as remarkable as the top wine shops in the city (say, Moore Brothers) what I appreciate is the effort to serve the neighborhood with reasonably priced wines that are a little different than the usual. I suppose the real question is whether they will be able to survive on the busines they get from people stopping off before dinner on their way home from the train. I hope so and will pop by for a bottle when I'm in the neighborhood.

Yelp
John is the most knowlegeable wine/liquor guy around. I love coming in and asking him, "what do I like?" If you sign up for an account (free) they can look up all of your past bottles in case you fell in love with something and forgot (part of the greatness of wine). You also get $5 off for every 100 spent:) They also deliver!

Eve G.

Yelp
Awesome place to grab a quick wine bottle for the night!

Jonathan P.

Yelp
My go to place, these guys have never steered me wrong... to the point that I am constantly asking them for recommendations. Will continue to be my go to spot, until I try every bourbon they have... which is a distinct possibility.

Annie K.

Yelp
I've lived on 24th Ave for about three years now. I've seen (far too many) laundromats come and go, I've seen dollar stores open and close and open and close, and I've seen delis park themselves just doors away from other delis, but never have a seen a liquor store open its doors here. And I'd like to say thank you to Astoria Park Wine & Spirits for being the courageous leader. Super friendly staff, frequent wine tastings, great selection of wines and pretty cheap prices. Their liquor selection could beef up a little, but I'll take what I can get. Sadly, I'm moving at the end of the month.

Yelp
I was so excited when this shop opened (dangerously) close to my apartment. It's the perfect place to pop in after a day at work, or before heading to Astoria Park or to a friend's house. They have a great what I would call "value" section with double bottles for 10-12 bucks, but plenty of classier selections for a more special evening. Everyone who works here is extremely helpful without being intrusive and they have honestly never steered me toward anything I didn't like.

Jessica M.

Yelp
I might edit this review to give it 5 stars after a second visit, but as of now, it's a good wine shop, with what appeared to be a good selection (they carried a decent Lambrusco! all right!) and a commitment to community involvement. They were showing some really cool local artwork that was also for sale, and the gentleman working offered information for weekly wine tasting... Plus it's on the way to Astoria Park, which I'll definitely be back in the neighborhood to visit!

Greg G.

Yelp
A nice little unpretentious wine store in this part of the neighborhood? Sign me up. The staff is helpful; the wine is well curated (I think that describes it well) and the prices are more than reasonable. It's a far classier store than any others around, and it's worth your time if you're looking to snag a bottle of wine.

Alison B.

Yelp
Great wine and liquor shop for astoria locals around the corner. The owner knows his products and is always willing to spark up an interesting conversation. Shop has liquor and a myriad of wine options. Love that I can go in their asking for a good red for instance in a certain price bracket, and have the perfect bottle in my hand in 1 min! Love that they accept card, and have a rewards program.

Penelope M.

Yelp
Look, I'm not much of a wine drinker, but damn if I don't like this place. They host wine tastings occasionally if you're get bored with a friend some afternoon. The place is clean and spacious and always has a really nice and creative window display. The staff is great; I've never felt ousted for being a not-wine person, nor have they ever tried to upsell me, which I appreciate. They close at 9 (except for weekends, I think?), and when I came rushing by from the train after work, fifteen minutes late and perfectly willing to go away and try my luck the next day, they beckoned me right in and helped me quickly and efficiently through the selection process, without ever seeming like they were trying to push me out the door, even if I was an inconvenience. It was fantastic customer service and I'm quite grateful.

Yelp
Definitely a welcome addition to an area that is in much need of this caliber and style of establishment. WELL DONE!

JK S.

Yelp
They have some great, unique wines. There is also amazing customer service-everyone is very nice and helpful. They are also dog friendly!!

Sam R.

Yelp
My favorite wine/liquor store ever, ever, ever. Super nice and helpful staff, interesting and well-priced selection, and free tastings every Friday night. What more could you want?! They had a wine class this past weekend that I went to with my boyfriend, and it was lovely- it was the first time they'd done an event like that I believe, and they put a lot of effort into it. It was out in their garden behind the store which is beautiful, they put out lovely cheese plates to snack on, and for $25 each we got to learn about wine from a quirky, enthusiastic, non-pretentious sommelier and taste super generous pours of 10 different wines. If they have a class again I highly recommend going!

Franz L.

Yelp
The connoisseurs are always friendly, and will actually take their time to help you select what you are in the mood for. Not a big place but maintains a decent selection of wines and stock of whiskey. Wish they stayed open later though.

Joey P.

Yelp
There are liquor stores in my neighborhood that are bigger but none that are better. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable and their selection is terrific. They always have what I'm looking for. Definitely my favorite liquor store.

Rose B.

Yelp
Really interesting selection, helpful, informed staff, very competitive prices...What more can you ask?! How about a great location? Convenient hours? And tastings...I'm in love! John and Brice, the salespeople, are fantastic! Both really know their stuff and don't try to make you feel like a cheapskate for wanting to spend less than $20 a bottle (yes, Astor Place, I'm looking at you!) The Bang for your Buck section is awesome, stocked with good wines that just happen to be reasonably priced, not just cheap rotgut! One of the owners, Amanda, has also saved by bacon a few times! I needed a nice vino to take to the first dinner with the future in-laws, and she came through for me. Great place, nice people. Welcome to Astoria!

Meg P.

Yelp
A wine and spirits store a few blocks from home? Oh no, this means trouble. I love the selection here, and in the short time they have been opened I've sampled a lovely range of products--prices are reasonable and varied. The vibe is laid back, helpful, and cheery, and they've offered me wonderful suggestions. I simply could not enjoy this store more. Welcome to the neighborhood!

Sarah A.

Yelp
One of the best wine shops I've ever been to. Super helpful staff, clean and bright, a rewards program, and they make great suggestions. Love this place!

C. Y.

Yelp
Great wine shop. Knowledgeable, helpful, friendly staff. I enjoy the variety of affordable wines. Their selection of spirits is great too.

Yorkie L.

Yelp
Yes, yes, and triple yes! Finally the neighborhood has a decent wine store that doesn't look like it's only catering to the bums from under the L! The interior is lovely. Great flooring and attractive display. Their variety is quite extensive and their prices are reasonable. So glad they are here!
