"The latest Astro Beer Hall goes big on its astronaut theme, bringing 'Launchpad' espresso martinis, arcade favorites like Space Invaders and Pac-Man, and a doughnut-making robot to Arlington. The Village at Shirlington’s new 14,000-square-foot destination for beer, doughnut, and fried chicken is a collaboration between the owners of Astro Doughnuts and Fried Chicken and Tin Shop. Astro Doughnuts & Fried Chicken chef Chris Kujala sends out a familiar lineup of hot chicken sandwiches, cheesesteaks, and pimento cheese dip and biscuits, joined by an expanded bar menu full of deviled eggs, fried pickles, loaded tots, and more. Nine types of fried-to-order cake doughnuts are made by a robot that’s visible from the street. Astro Beer Hall’s underlying cosmic theme also makes its way onto the menu with new additions like the 'Astronomic' burger and 'Satellite Sampler Tower'. Cocktails include a cinnamon-spiced Launchpad espresso martini, a rum-spiked Rocket Queen with pineapple and mint, an Apollo Paloma, and two frozen flavors at a time." - Tierney Plumb

Astro Beer Hall Shirlington will also brew Compass all day at its full-service coffee counter and serve Astro’s decadent doughnuts and breakfast sandwiches. UPDATE: Their game systems overcharge their patrons. A $30 charge showed up as $50. When contacted, I was hung up on. I won't be frequenting here again. Like all restaurants, they are a reflection of management, and their management doesn't care about cheating their customers and refusing to take accountability. Look at the other comments and you'll see this is a common experience. Do better. This review is closer to 3.5, and I'm conflicted leaving it as a 3. The food isn't that bad, and I personally find the Creme Brulee donut unbelievably amazing, yet the prices are absurd. Nearly $15 for 6 small chicken wings, and $13 for 4 mozzarella sticks almost feels like they just want to rip you off (they should mention how many it is on the menu, unless that's part of their "business model"). Wonder how many others fell victim to getting less than expected. The service is so-so, but I really dig the vibes and absolutely appreciate the claw machine, games and the fact they do events for locals (like speed dating and other stuff). Great spot for sports, but Dudleys (a 2 minute walk away) has them beat as a whole. Awesome concept, just needs some work in my opinion. Worth going to, but can't see myself as a regular until some of the other stuff improves a bit.

If you’re looking for that awesome neighborhood eatery experience, please check out Astro Beer Hall. This place is amazing! If you’re looking for a place that has a sports bar vibe with multiple televisions to never miss a minute of action. The menu is filled with yummy goodness, just pick. Today I had brunch with eggs, sausage, half waffle, and home fries. My wife had the chicken and waffles, which she said was BOMB! The kiddies had chicken tenders with fries. Total 1000/10 would recommend. Our server was Jordan, and he never missed an empty glass and kept the drinks flowing. This was our first time and won’t be the last. Enjoy!

Google
Overall food is fine at best. Personally I would eat elsewhere first. Constantly rotating drinks, always something new to try, but they tend to never have the one you want. Website is updated constantly yet still out of date. It's frustrating but at least they keep it fresh. Vibes are on point, with 2 levels and a nice outdoor space. I believe they recently updated their happy hour to be much better. Picture attached

Google
Nice beer selection. The $5 happy hour smash burger or chicken sandwich is a good deal. $16.75 when it’s not happy hour seems quite high though…. Literally waited for 40 minutes to be served. $26.33 seems pretty steep for a burger, fries, and soda with automatic gratuity included. I mean really. $25 wasn’t enough? Come on.

Google
A great place to meet up for an excellent selection of food and drink. Plenty of televisions to watch whatever games are on and a very nice clientele of craft beer enthusiasts.

Google
This place was okay. Service was very slow. They did not have enough people behind bar. Food took forever. Appetizers were cold. Food overpriced. Salad was not good. Best part was chicken sandwich. It was very busy, but we did not have a great experience. Maybe they will get better as time goes on. For the prices they charge, there are no excuses. UPDATE: We went back. Drinks were good. Service was friendly. The donut we had was really good.

Mari Cartagena

Google
I ordered the vanilla glazed doughnut. It was an 8. I didn't really taste much vanilla. I ordered the chicken BLT. My mind was blown away at the quality of chicken. It was so good. I even wanted to ask where they had these chickens at lol. You should definitely try this place.

Google
One of my favorite places to go in Shirlington. Food & drinks aren't too expensive. $5 Smash burger after 9pmb is clutch. Just sometimes at the bar you might wait 8 minutes to put in your order.

Craig S.

Yelp
This place is great! The chicken sandwiches are to die for! The bartenders are amazing and very friendly and they always have a great rotating selection of taps. The atmosphere is wonderful - a great place to watch the games, the arcade games are great for kids, and the patio great for people watching.

Yelp
Astro Hall is a dope restaurant attached to Astro fried chicken and donuts, offering a diverse selection of bar food with an impressive taste. The NASA-themed decor creates a unique atmosphere, perfect for sports, entertainment, and games like darts, shuffleboard, and arcade machines. Their signature chicken sandwich is a must-try, available in mild to hot options, although the mild version is still quite spicy. Astro Hall also serves brunch 10am-3pm Sat/Sun, along with their specialty doughnuts and fried chicken. Additionally, their tater tots are among the best you'll ever have and they do come L O A D E D! If you do not eat a lot, they have the asteroids chicken sliders where you can pick the heat level in a slider form. Featured BITES: The Asteroid Chicken Sandwich (mild) Astro's Loaded tots. Apollo Smashburger. Sugar Cookie. PB + J doughnut

Yelp
We came on a busy night. When you enter, there's a sign that says seat yourself. It took us a minute to find a table, and once we did, we realized there was only one waitress working our area. After 9pm, there is the happy hour for $5 smash burgers or chicken sandwich and it comes with fries or tots. When the waitress came, she told us they were pretty much out of everything. We wanted the smash burgers, but told it was out. It's a bit strange that after 5 mins of doing the happy hour burger that they ran out. Anyways we tried the chicken burgers instead. My reason for 3 stars is because our orders were made incorrectly. We had a party of 5, and we made modifications to the chicken sandwiches, like no sauce or no pickles or no coleslaw. She also asked us if we wanted mild, medium, or hot. I felt like all the chicken sandwiches were made incorrectly because most were spicy. With the sandwiches, we should have had 3 that came with fries and 3 with tots. What we received was 2 tots and 4 fries. I understand that it's a busy night because of the football game, but she didn't come back to refill our drinks. Most likely we will return, because the $5 deal is pretty good. We just won't come when there's a game going on.

Yelp
We've become regulars since Astro Beer Hall in Shirlington opened. It's close to home, which is convenient, and it's got a great atmosphere. We're big sports fans and we can always count on Astro to show our local DC teams, far flung games like the NFL in Europe and even my hometown Volunteers. They have a lot of variety on the menu - everything from burgers to wings (try the new Asian wings!!!) to salads. My new favorite is the Fried Chicken Honey (fried chicken on a cheddar biscuit with honey butter and hot sauce) that's on the brunch menu. Add tots on the side and you're all set. What makes Astro even better is the staff! Iryna keeps things moving, even when it's busy. Jordan is always moving whether he's bartending or serving tables. And while I don't have their names, the bar backs are stocking this, cutting fruit, cleaning, etc. it's a well oiled machine with a lot of personality. We'll be back!

Linnea E.

Yelp
Stopped in at Astro for happy hour with some friends. The happy hour deals are limited to some of the apps but I was feeling hungry so I ordered the Old Bay All Day, mostly because I was curious what an "Old Bay Doughnut Bun" tasted like. The answer? Pretty damn good. The donut bun was very light, almost airy, and worked really well with the savory flavors of the Old Bay seasoning and sriracha mayo. The fried chicken on the other hand could've done with some more seasoning and flavor. I also deviated from my norm and got the side salad instead of tots or fries and I was pleasantly surprised - it was actually a very good little side salad! So mixed bag on the sandwich but I'm curious about their other donuts and brunch options now.

Yelp
What a great place for a pint! Plenty of options on tap and with the recommendation from the bartender, I tried two very flavorful beers. The patio and bar area seating allows you to do a little people watching. I am back in town next month and will make a point to stop by for a pint or two. Make sure you stop by and give them a try. Enjoy!

David S.

Yelp
Astro Beer Hall is a wonderful place to watch football on Sundays, they have the Sunday ticket so they got all the games! The service is very good, everyone is super friendly, our server got us our drinks and food out real fast:) The Maine lunch is a very good beer, the avocado and toast is a good healthy option especially if u have a dairy allergy, and the waffles and bacon were excellent as well. The ambiance is very nice, the massive screens on the wall help out a lot, chairs are super comfy, I def wanna go back for future Patriots games! Way to go Astro Beer Hall!

Tameka R.

Yelp
Love. Love this place from the decor down to the tater tots here !!! Im a huge fan. Good food. Drinks and pool .. good service from bartender can't wait to go back ! Also open late night!

David C.

Yelp
I will begin with the good: they offer two burgers and fries combinations sets (fried chicken and regular beef) for $5 or so during late night hours; parking is free; and the atmosphere is quite comfortable. Likewise, there are a lot of businesses within walkable distance from this establishment. However, the food, in quality as well as quantity, is quite lacking; the beers are overpriced and mediocre; it can be overly lively; and service is incredibly slow and disorganized. Do not come here if you have somewhere else you intend to be at a certain time.

Julian H.

Yelp
Astro Beer Hall has an excellent menu (both food and drinks)! I enjoy the rotating beer offerings and the seasonal doughnut flavors.

Melanie C.

Yelp
We hosted our CADRE Holiday Party at Astro this year and it was a HUGE hit! The private area was lovely and filled with lots of fun games and festive decorations. The phone booth was a delightful photo opportunity! The service was spectacular from booking to payment. And the food was DELISH! They had a variety of options to satisfy all food allergies and preferences and even gave to-go boxes for our guests to take home the leftovers. We will book again here!

Gabriella C.

Yelp
Came here to try 1969 (the new downstairs lounge). A bit pricey but going off taste alone - The Mozzarella Sticks were AMAZING, the Asteroid Chicken Sliders were a bit too spicy with the medium heat for me but had a good flavor overall, the Apollo Smashburger Sliders were really delicious, the Nachos were decent but could skip next time! The cocktails were tasty - the Squirt Paloma was very good! The beer list is better upstairs but the VIBE is really fun here. Love the decor, layout, bar games, it's a classier version of a basement dive! Lastly, the Brownie a la Mode was DEVINE! Food and drinks came out at a timely manner and bartender was great with recommendations!

Isabella C.

Yelp
I only went to the new basement bar (1969). Love the theme/decor. Very chill vibes & had a good crowd, even for a weekday. Multiple pool, darts & shuffleboard tables which were fun to play as well as TVs to watch sports. Raspberry mai tai was good & solid draft beer list. Mozzerella sticks were super cheesy & amazing, both sliders (fried chicken & burgers) were deliciousBrownie ice cream skillet was soooo good & decadent. Nachos got a bit soggy though so not my favorite app. But all in all really fun place to chill as an alternative to a beer garden & def want to come back! Gives more of an upscale rocket bar vibe without going to dc, older crowd, less crazy

Jeff H.

Yelp
Great Asteroid Fried Chicken Sandwich and Beer. Great upstairs Beer Hall and downstairs lounge, 1969

Jennifer S.

Yelp
This place is great!! Service is always amazing and the food is delicious. Their fried chicken sandwich and the mozzarella cheese sticks are my favorite! I love that they have specials for brunch and happy hour. The staff are so kind and attentive - I've never had a bad experience and we have been coming here at least twice a month since they opened. It's very family friendly too - when we have friends in town with kids we always bring them to Astro!

Arielle H.

Yelp
I would consider this an adult arcade and bar. They have a large bar inside, outdoor seating, and also arcade games along with pool and other things inside. In two weeks, they will have a larger arcade area available for use downstairs. I also love that they have a bakery connected next-door. Though I did not get a whole doughnut, or a café beverage, I am definitely interested in returning and trying. Overall, the restaurants food was OK. I enjoyed the waffle and the smash burgers. Both the appetizer smash burgers and the entrée Smashburger were delicious. Additionally, the cinnamon roll was to die for! It's not only large, but it was flavorful. Lastly, I like how they have mock tails for those who do not drink. And they were actually quite delicious and not just juice. I would like to give a special shout out to Andry and Irena. Their service was immaculate and I would definitely go back to see both of them.

Ajay M.

Yelp
Astro is a great addition to Shirlington. I was sad to see Cap City go, but Astro filled in nicely. They have a nice beer selection, wine, and mixed drinks. Their food is good (recommend the Astro Friend Chicken Sandwich). The place is massive and is good for small groups, large groups, and kids are welcome as well. The service is normally good, but can be suspect when it gets busy. Overall solid place!

James H.

Yelp
Great spot in the Shirlington neighborhood. Lots of seating, TVs, and games. Ordered drinks and food downstairs where staff were very friendly and the food came out quickly. Plenty of seating with TV's visible whether it be at the bar, in the booths, or high ledges. The food was actually really good. I ordered the Chicken Sandwich that came on a donut with old bay seasoning. It also came with tots that were fresh. Seasonal beers on tap. Honestly, a great experience and very casual spot.

Lily B.

Yelp
I came for lunch one day with friends and then I came again to have dinner during drag bingo. Drag bingo is so much fun you just have to do it. The crowd gets into it and the two queens are hysterical. SO. MUCH. FUN. The chicken sandwiches are solid choices, choose either tater tots or fries both are delish. I think the cheddar biscuits are famous, if you get your chicken on one of those you will be satisfied for hours. The wait staff is really friendly and give just the right amount of attention without interrupting conversations. But I'm going to go to every single drag bingo I can get to because I rarely laugh that hard during the week.

Shayna H.

Yelp
Good food and good fun at Astro Beer Hall. I went with my family for brunch. I ordered the classic breakfast which had two eggs (any style), bacon, toast and tater tots (or home fries). It was filling and enjoyable. They had a lot of interesting cookies and donuts on the menu as well. I'm dairy free though and they didn't have any dairy free options. They looked good so I wish I could've tried them. After the great food and the fast service, we went over to the arcade. I bought a $20 game card for my group of 4. That kept us busy and having fun at the vibrant and reasonably priced games for about 30 minutes. Overall we had lots of fun and left happy. Hope to go back again soon!

Megha D.

Yelp
Came here on a Sunday night for dinner with some friends and to watch some football. Parking is pretty easy to find on the street. Inside, the space is huge and we were seated immediately. We ordered some drinks (I tried one of their local beers which was pretty good!) and some appetizers. We had the fried pickles, mac n cheese bites, loaded tots, and the fried chicken sliders. Our food came pretty quickly and it was delicious! The fried pickles were lengthwise which was interesting, but the mac n cheese bites, loaded tots, and sliders were so so good! Our waiter also gave us a free maple glazed donut which was so nice and a sweet treat to take home! After dinner, we played pool and some of the arcade games for the bit which was also super fun. Overall, really fun spot and would definitely recommend for gameday or hanging out with friends!

Jenny O.

Yelp
OK so I know this is a beer hall, but their cookies are THE BOMB! I had the dark caramel, s'mores, and PB&J. The texture is like a very very fudgy brownie more so than a cookie. It wasn't easy to pick up any of the cookies, but that didn't detract from the flavortown. They're so rich and decadent and perfect for a fall evening (or any evening you're craving a delicious sugar bomb). The beer selection is decent, though I expected more from a "beer hall" and they ran out of one of the beers when I visited... but it's still a good vibe in there. I would go back for the cookies!

Kyle C.

Yelp
Went to the basement bar for drinks. Was appalled by the bartenders attitude. Not sure if he was having an off day or what, but I cannot recall ever being treated worse as a paying customer. We sat down and said "hey what's up", got a grunt in response and a glare at all of us in our party. The bartender then walked to the other side of the bar (we were the only patrons besides a couple a few stools down who already had drinks) and ignored us until we asked to order drinks. He comes back, sees the menu we are looking at, and says "I don't know where you got the menu, but that's only for upstairs." The menu was on the table when we got there. A person in our party of four then asks "so do you have the winter spiced beer" (which is what she ordered initially) - he says "no" as he walks away with no further comment. I am trying to paint the picture of the scene as this was such a bizarre bar experience. We took our party of four upstairs after that, and the redeeming star is due to the friendliness of the bartenders upstairs. Truly bizarre experience, and if management sees this, I hope you talk with the bartender who was working downstairs around 6pm on 12/22. I mentioned it to a bartender upstairs who, while friendly, did not seem to care too much.

Sammi C.

Yelp
This is definitely a cool spot and hopefully will take over dudley's boring atmosphere! Astro has pool tables! Games for the win and delicious donuts and cookies. I heard of Astro Donuts when they started as a truck and in DC, didn't get to try it until it opened it's Vienna location near my old job. The donuts are almost cronut like and i love that about them! They are truly a delicacy, it's super rich, but not overwhelmingly sweet. This location just opened last Tuesday and it was packed!!! Which I was happy to see something new and exciting in this area. It lacks fun for the regulars and people that live around the area. The menu looks great, but the food itself is not quite there yet. The chicken sliders were so bland i had to ask for sauce different sauce to add to it. The Astro sauce was boring... and for almost $15 for mediocre sliders was not pleasant. Hopefully they add their donut chicken sandwich from their other location on here and that it taste quite smililar. Many of my peers have also said the food i was not great. Once they get that down they will wipe Dudley's out the park! As far as drinks go they have happy hour Monday-friday 3-6pm i believe? The happy hour was quite apeasing so run guys! Beer selection is wide and great, for a new spot that just popped up the bar did well. Food was slow, but it's understandable. Cobb salad looked amazing though, bigger than your head and with fresh mozzarella yummm. I'll probably try that next time! I have high hopes that this place will go far and run out the older spots there. They have phase 2 which is their basement coming soon; more bars, pool tables, and games!

Allen H.

Yelp
Absolutely abysmal food and overpriced. I had previously eaten at Astro Donuts in DC and enjoyed it, and thought I could expect the same food quality here - this was a mistake. Chicken and waffles: 3/5 - the waffle wasn't the worst, but could have been sweeter. The chicken was almost tasteless and I only ate it for the protein. Major disappointment when fried chicken is the hallmark of Astro Donuts Fried pickles: 0/5 - absolutely terrible. 99% breading with a tiny sliver of pickle inside. It's not a pickle chip or a pickle spear, but instead a thin tiny wisp of pickle. For $10.50, it feels like I was robbed by one of the youth in DC Chicken quesadilla: 2/5 - I would rather be eating $5.99 quesadillas at Taco Bell. Devoid of flavor and expensive Astro's loaded tots: 4/5 - surprisingly solid. This is the only thing I would get again, if I were forced to eat at Astro's. There's a lot of queso sauce, but I have never been one to turn down queso Drinks were anywhere from $12-14 and fine, nothing to write home about. I would look elsewhere if you're in Shirlington for Happy Hour, because the food here is bad

Katelin F.

Yelp
I planned my company holiday party at Astro Beer Hall and it was a hit! we had 50+ people and they were very accommodating with our group. The ordering process was very easy for our pre-ordered items, as well as having individual tabs at the bar. Would definitely recommend having an event here!

Magie B.

Yelp
You have got to check out this place. I've been there for breakfast and lunch and have never been disappointed. The servers are always fun and nice. The food comes out relatively quickly also. They have a good variety of sandwich choices which is what my husband always gets. I also highly recommend their desserts. They have really cool gourmet looking donuts and cookies. Definitely an awesome treat.

Katie Q.

Yelp
A very fun place to go, either with friends for happy hour or with kids for lunch/dinner. Really large space, but they do a great job at filling it so it doesn't overwhelm. The arcade machines are great fun for kids. The food was okay, nothing too great, but service was fast, the beer menu looks great, and it's a fun place to hang out.

Christine P.

Yelp
Great service, good espresso martini (launchpad) flavorful Astronomic burger and fried chicken sandwich!

Eden H.

Yelp
My siblings and I were looking for a cool eatery and I'm glad we came across the new Astro Beer Hall. We went for brunch and it did not disappoint. I ordered the chicken and waffles and my siblings ordered the breakfast burrito and other breakfast foods. We also ordered mini donuts for the table (cinnamon bun flavor) and they were delightful. After eating we went to the gaming area and got a loaded a swipe card with points to play a bunch of arcade games including ski-ball, claw games, and shooting games. It was definitely a very fun time!

Shari D.

Yelp
Food, games and drinks? Sign me up! After debating where to go, my boyfriend looked Astro Beer Hall up and we were sold. The space is pretty awesome, there's a lot to do whether you're on a date, with the fam or here solo. We were greeted by the manager, Kwasi, who was super helpful and accommodating to our questions. We grabbed two seats at the bar and Mike was our bartender, he did not disappoint! He offered us some food for thought, gave us trivia questions and was very attentive. We've come back twice and the experience has been just as great at the first time.

Edward R. L.

Yelp
Great beer menu, servers were quick and friendly. The chicken is freshly fried, biscuits are officially Southern, and the donuts fresh from the oven are amazing. Fun atmosphere, and enjoyable for families at lunchtime.

Beach G.

Yelp
Can't believe they turned off the Army Navy game. Doesn't this restaurant know the Pentagon is located in Arlington?!?! After the game was removed for a golf game we left. There are TVs everywhere in the bar but not one could show the Army Navy game?!!! Half the bar followed us out the door. Not one server, bartender or manager had a clue when we asked why they turned off the game after the first quarter. Never got a drink or food since the game was turned off so fast. Customers were stunned. Oh well. Doubtful I will return. Too bad, I was really looking forward to trying out this spot.

Kevin L.

Yelp
3.5 stars. Large sports bar with decent food, drinks, and atmosphere. Ordeed the chicken sndawich and tater tots. They were just okay. The buns were defintely bigger than the chicken on mines. Flavors were okay. They have lots of big screens to watch the games, so its a good place to watch sporting events. Place is not as big as Dudleys, which is around the corner. Overall a decent experience.

Lynn N.

Yelp
Traveled here for work and let me tell you this was worth it! I checked in using the Yelp check in and was seated before my time was done. The server was awesome! The food was great! This place has amazing food! Check them out if you're in the area! If I get to come back here for work; I'll make sure to drop by again!

Erica S.

Yelp
Service was absolutely horrible. The bartender, Ben, spent more time on his phone than actually tending bar. When we asked for our check, he gave us the wrong check to close out which we did (and left a 22% tip even though he definitely did not earn it). When we asked for a printed receipt, he then told us we needed to close out our actual check and "apologized" but with an aggressive attitude as if it was our fault that he made a mistake. Saying, "I said I was sorry!" hardly counts as an apology. I was talking to my friend who was literally standing right beside me and asked her "How do you f#@k this up. There are only a handful of people here." Ben then threatened to kick us out even though we had already closed out TWO checks - one that wasn't even ours. I told him I wasn't even addressing him and he said there is no cursing allowed. No cursing in a bar?! Ben then left to get the manager which he referred to as, "Boss Man" who was courteous but made no immediate effort to address Ben's attitude, mistakes, or horrible customer service. Such a shame that this place has a great location and vibe but the service continues to disappoint every time.

Aya T.

Yelp
I have come here a few times for karaoke and trivia. I love their events! And it gives me a good excuse to come have fun. Their beer list is extensive. I really liked the pale ale I chose. I had a few appetizer dishes but I haven't found what I like yet. It's a fun place to hang out!

Kamou M.

Yelp
A friend has been recommending this place for months and I finally had an excuse to try it out. Had a delicious signature donut burger with the impossible burger and their special sauce. This will be a new go to healthy option in Shirlington. I sat at the bar so the service was ok as were the fried pickles and dipping sauce. The outdoor looked inviting and I'll try that next time.

W. H.

Yelp
Limited menu on weekends, staff seemed half-dead. We walked out before ordering. Place was practically empty Sunday afternoon when virtually every other place was pretty busy. Weird vibe. I bet it's gone in a year or less. Tip - area needs a quality tiki-themed restaurant.

Jose P.

Yelp
Visited with wife and kids, and it was a complete disappointment... First we sat and wait for a while even though the place was empty. Food was tasteless and nothing was fresh. My beer was warm and when I asked the server to swap it for any other cold beer, she said they are all like that. French fries are straight from a bag, super greasy, and dishes are overpriced. There are a LOT of better options in Shillington for food. I would give this place another try maybe for beer only, but would ask to try the beer temperature first. I would never do food here. Not worth it!

Rachel Y.

Yelp
Does the side of the bar closest to the windows exist? I felt like Casper the Ghost. The bartender seemed shocked when I got up and walked around to the other side of the bar to get his attention. He acted like he never saw me sitting there. We had to consistently beg the bartenders to pay any attention to us and ended up getting our own silverware and napkins off another table. I was also watching a football game, and they changed the channel without ever asking if it was ok. As someone who worked in the restaurant business, I found the whole experience extremely unsatisfactory. I guess the moral of this story is to only visit when Mike is working. He wasn't there so no one knew what they were doing.

Yelp
Was very excited to check this place out, but there is some room for improvement. My friend and I came here for brunch. Our server was nice but wholly inattentive. We watched as the server came to his tables several times, where we waited over 30 minutes just to get our server to come back to our table and check us out. The food is okay. We also ordered the nachos but like most places there is only cheese and toppings on the top part while the bottom layer of chips are completely dry. The Bloody Mary was supposed to be spicy, however it wasn't spicy but tasty. Just not what I had my hopes on. We ordered the cinnamon roll which was cold and the astronaut doughnut while tasty, the only party that was warm was where the espresso had been. The rest of the doughnut was cold. Would make for a much better experience if the items were actually warmed up prior to being served.

Yelp
Sigh. The Shirlington Curse strikes again. I was really looking forward to having a new dining/bar/restaurant option in Shirlington but once again, the results were underwhelming. Atmosphere and concept is decent but nothing special...clocking in somewhere between Punch Bowl Social and Dave & Busters. I went to the bar for happy hour and if you are a beer drinker the options and pricing are pretty decent, and there are ok deals for wine and rail drinks but that's really the only positive side. Food is amazingly overpriced for value in every way. Examples: 6 tiny, poorly prepared wings with no veg sticks for $14.25 "Large" order of tots for $7.00 consisted of what would be a small side order anywhere else of frozen tots, unseasoned and entirely unworthy of being served in a restaurant. Loaded nachos were basically chips with barely any cheese and a tiny amount of flavorless chicken for $18.50. I cannot even begin to express how sad and lacking they were. Service was good, and staff were friendly and attentive. All in all, the place is very typical of what most Shirlington restaurants have devolved into. Is it the incredibly high rents being charged that lead to such mediocre and corner cutting in order to eke out a tiny profit margin at nearly every establishment? Even the Carlyle seems to be coasting on its reputation these days and the appeal of Guapos has eluded me from day 1. I guess the fact that Shirlington is patronized only by locals for the convenience factor has led to nearly every establishment getting away with offering up the lowest common denominator when it comes to quality and overall experience. Very disappointed, but not that surprised.

Yelp
My husband and I went for lunch today and had a great time. Our server was Alex and she was fabulous and helped us with recommendations. The manager was also present and took some time to talk to us. The restaurant is very spacious and they have outdoor seating. It looks like they have a good happy hour from 4-6pm. The food was also good. We got the tenders and Mac & cheese and that was yummy. We definitely look forward to coming back at nighttime.

Yelp
Absolutely loved my visit! The updated menu?! What?! The new menu items are fantastic--new sandwich on a Donut was a delightful surprise. The soft, delicious cookies are the perfect way to end a meal. The bar service is top-notch, and the beer list is amazing with a great selection to choose from. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
Wow new brewery in our neck of the woods!! Huge spot, great menu, excellent service! We had Lisa as our bartender and she knocked it out of the park... She recommended excellent food items, she was quick to bring drinks and when are honey mustard and come she took time to go back to the kitchen to find it. We also met Nate, and he was a jack of all trades! Shaking cocktails, taking orders, and having people out, and we're pretty sure that he was a general manager of sorts. So nice to see someone in a senior management position jumping in to help out on the opening night! Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
The food was OK; some of the beer was out, but the service was pretty bad. The manager should focus on training the service staff because our waitress took our orders but never checked in on our drinks or food. She put in the wrong dessert order, and we asked for it to be fixed, which she acknowledged. But when we got our cookies to go, it was the exact wrong order. Very disappointed in the service and lack of management oversight.

Yelp
As Shirlington residents, we were excited that there was a new restaurant/bar opening in the old brewery space. Upon arriving, we decided to try out the games. The pac man game is suppose to be two player but the one side doesn't work. No big deal, we moved on. We went back outside to the host to be seated. Took a few minutes and the waitress took our order. The food came out quickly but incorrectly. Just wanted to note: You cannot order your burger any particular temperature medium-well or well for example). We didn't have any toppings and she didn't tell us they don't have American cheese. After ten minutes of waiting for the waitress to come back, I finally got up and found someone to look for her to correct the order. The order went back and was corrected. The food is below average. The burger meat wasn't good and only half the burger was eaten. We asked if fries could take the place of tater tots and told yes. Only after getting the bill did we know it would cost $2 extra dollars. Making a burger and fries $19.50. More than half was left and the waitress didn't even ask any questions. The chicken is bland, Chick-fil-A is way better and costs less. For the price point, the food needs to be good and this is a complete miss. Won't be returning.
