"The appetiser is a seafood charcuterie: squid and mussels dressed in aioli, finely minced raw horse mackerel, and dried chub mackerel. Be sure to try the speciality, bouillabaisse with a rich seafood flavour, and mix it rice with the leftover soup to make risotto. This is a bistro for enjoying seafood to your heart’s content, although the mains include meat dishes as well." - Michelin Inspector

Neither French nor Italian. Their signature dish Bouillabaisse was absolutely horrible, couldn’t taste the umami of seafood but only bitterness. On top of that there is extra 1,300 yen charge for the risotto per person and they don’t let you know. The chef should go to south France to learn the dish if he want to serve a descent Bouillabaisse. There is also minimum one drink rule, if you don’t order the drink in the beginning the waiter will annoy you for several times. Overall overpriced, below average food.

Ata is a genuinely lovely restaurant with impeccable service, but unfortunately not one dish provided any kind of wow factor. Based on the reviews across Tabelog, Google, and The Japan Times, I was expecting some outstanding dishes and an overall excellent meal, but for example while the St. Jacques pie and cassoulet were pleasant, and authentically rendered, it's hard for me to describe any dish as anything better than "nice". It's a pity that my expectations on this occasion weren't met.

Yelp
By far the worst service experience I've had in as long as I can remember. Before the first dish arrived I was most looking forward to walking out the door and leaving the experience behind. To be witness to hostile dynamics amongst staff isn't uncommon but to then have the hostility and passive aggressive behavior be directed at guests isn't something I've experienced to this degree before. From the blatant and persistent up-selling to pushing a particular "special", to having us wait for over 30 minutes twice for two different dishes, it was consistently terrible. The food is delicious but I didn't enjoy a bite of it because the environment and service was so sour.
