Ordered the lunch special for pick-up and ordered any 3 rolls including a miso soup or salad for $17 and $.50 for 3 piece gyoza. The miso soup was nicely flavored. Gyoza wasn't the best but it was fried with a nice fried exterior. The rolls tasted fresh. As requested, the rolls were light on the rice and I got an extra side of the ginger. Everything was well packaged. Happy with the meal!

Google
We’ve ordered sushi from this place a few times. This will probably be the last time. Under delivered or not impressed. The tiny spider roll was $11…. They forgot the rice that comes with the sashimi. They were 15 minutes outside the pick up window.

Google
We passed by this restaurant during our stay in NY in March 2016, without knowing if it was good or not and decided to give it a try. We were not disappointed! Friendly staff, good service. Delicious sushis! Great value for money! The sushis (and mochi ice cream) were so good that we actually returned two more times that week!

Google
We've been going here for years! Best bang for the buck sushi combos (esp. lunch specials) in the area. Freshest fish there is Mon to Wed. Great delivery service. So glad they survived the pandemic!

Google
Food: 4 Value: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 3 Avg: 4.25 Notes: The sushi here is not particularly impressive, but also not sketchy. I like the maki rolls that incorporate mango. During lunch, they charge ~$15 for 3 rolls and 2 appetizers. It’s a great deal! Keeps me coming back.

Google
Staff were very sarcastic when I was trying to place my order during opening time. They brushed me off. Sushi is amazing but the staff needs to do better in welcoming customers.

Ghennah Forde

Google
Finally a place with more veggie roll variety. The sweet potato tempura :9 Yaki Udon was delicious and with soup for the cold was perfect

I liked the food and the prices were really good!

Yelp
Wow the Maki combo was FRESH! I got it for delivery because I was in the area and was truly surprised at how fresh it was. It tasted amazing. Authentic and perfect amount of rice. When food gets delivered it sometimes looses that fresh quality but wow it was great and I have ZERO complaints. I hope to actually go into this place one day and order something else. I got a soup with my order and the service was quick. Within 20 minutes of ordering I had my food. Thank you so much!

Yelp
Quick and casual spot for sushi, not the best I've had but definitely hits the spot when needed. They have a great lunch special until late in the afternoon

Bijal R.

Yelp
Decent Japanese spot which is good for a quick dinner pick up. Lots of speciality sushi rolls to choose from, however I decided to try the Katsu. Prepared very quickly by friendly staff. The Katsu was perfectly crispy but the overall flavor was okay, served with a sweet Tonkatsu Sauce. This comes with rice and your choice of salad or Miso soup. Good portion size as well. Not a gourmet spot, but perfect if you want something filling prepared quickly. Recommended Dishes: Chicken Katsu

Yelp
The lunch special is pretty good. It comes with miso soup or salad. Had tried the sashimi lunch and mini tri-color lunch. It came with rice on the side. The sashimi lunch had 4 kinds of fish with 3 pieces of each. It's a good size and portion. The mini tri-color sizes seemed slightly smaller but it comes with a salmon roll. Fish tasted fresh. Satisfies sushi cravings.

Sharmin A.

Yelp
Food is delicious and the service is great. We love coming here during the lunch special bc it's such a great deal! It's a lowkey hidden gem :')

Stacy M.

Yelp
The food doesn't taste fresh. The employees were not attentive. Their no other customers. I have always wanted to try this place but I will not be coming back

Eric F.

Yelp
This review is for delivery through Uber Eats. I saw there was a promo on Uber Eats for a BOGO special with their California rolls and gave it a shot (hence the psychotic order of ... 4 California rolls). At $5.50 each ($11 for all 4 rolls consisting of 6 pieces each), the sushi was pretty good quality. The ingredients used tasted fresh and it was a pretty light feeling meal. Maybe next time I'll order again and actually try other things on the menu!

Tyler B.

Yelp
Local spot and love it, order all the time and they are quick and easy. I recommend the habatchi.

Deanna L.

Yelp
The order was delivered promptly, it was fresh and delicious, the rolls were great, the ginger dressing tangy, the Kani salad had a nice crunch.

Vinay S.

Yelp
Fast Japanese spot with a great lunch special (soup, appetizer, and three rolls of sushi for $15) that does just enough to appease the sporadic sushi crazy. $7 a roll. 3.75/5 stars as a lunch spot.

Liz A.

Yelp
Not a bad sushi joint if you're looking for quick and affordable sushi near NewYork-Presbyterian Cornell. My friend initially found this place on a Google search and likes it mostly because it's cheap sushi, as for he doesn't like it when lunch bills are high for food that's not made at a high end restaurant. It's about $15/$16 for the lunch special - soup or salad, one of three appetizers, and three rolls. Spicy mayo here is free, which is good since some places charge for it (not that that's a bad thing, but the varying quality of spicy mayo at different sushi places is annoying).

Michael N.

Yelp
Atami offers a decent lunch special near midtown. I was there as a party of two. On a roasting Summer afternoon the traffic in and out the front door made the air conditioning pretty ineffective. The lunch specials come with salad and shu mai plus two rolls. Rolls are six pieces per. We divided ours up evenly except for the shrimp which only came with five pieces. The server forgot our shu mai so I had to ask for them. Rolls are sliced a bit thinly. The soy sauce container wasn't really filled so we were low on that also. If you're not very hungry you'll be OK. The price for our order plus a soda was about $30 including the tip. Bathroom is sizable also. This was a bit underwhelming but not bad. Servers were friendly.

Ariel S.

Yelp
I come here sometimes three times a week and I have no shame about it. Really good sushi. Im a sucker for Ikura which is always fresh here. Definitely recommend for takeout/delivery or a lunch inside.

Irma C.

Yelp
The food was ok, but service was pretty terrible. Firstly, we ordered two beers each and then were told there were no more Asahi beer. As I looked over to the next table, they had all ordered Asahi beers (as we had just been told there were no more). Secondly, as we were still enjoying our beers, we were asked to move so a group of 6 could sit where we were. Overall, food wasn't anything spectacular and service was awful.

Kathleen S.

Yelp
You get what you pay for. No, this is not Masa offering premium sushi. Yes, this is a midtown location offering mid-level but nevertheless delicious sushi at reasonable prices. Sometimes you don't want fancy fish, just solid, reliable takeout sushi And Atami certainly delivers literally and figuratively. The lunch specials here are particularly good. Even on weekends, it offers a $13 sashimi + soup/salad special, as well as $9.95 two-maki combo + soup/salad special. To boot, they throw in a few pieces of Kopitiam candy (my favorite hard candy, pretty ubiquitous in Chinese grocery stores but first discovered in Vietnam). For the paleo/diet-conscious consumers out there, they also have a good $11 naruto roll made with cucumber instead of rice.

Avi G.

Yelp
Amazing sushi. Got the sashimi and sushi for two, couldn't be more impressed. Great portion, generous with fish and a great variety. Tuna was more or less tasteless, but that's nowhere near the most important fish. Every else tasted fresh, and melted in my mouth. Highly recommend. Can't beat it for the price, and the excellent service. Will return.

Yelp
I've been here a few times over the past couple of years. The last time I came in was Sunday around 2 PM. There was no one else in the restaurant so it was pretty quiet. They had a great selection for their lunch menu which had a great time slot (Monday-Sunday till around 4 30). I ordered a katsu lunch bento. It included the katsu, six pieces of sushi, salad, three pieces of gyoza and rice. The katsu's flavor was ok. It wasn't fried enough so it was kind of limp looking. It was also cut too thin so each bite just did not fell fulfilling enough. The gyoza was pretty good flavor wise but the sauce was dumped right on top of it so after a while it got kind of soggy. Salad dressing was very interesting, quite citrusy. Finally, the sushi was pretty average, nothing too exciting. The staff was very friendly and offered great and attentive service. Pro: -Good service -Good location Con: -Food just average

Tina L.

Yelp
My daughter wanted rolls, and it was super disturbing when she started reading health inspection reports of other restaurants. That's how we found Atami, and everyone was happy with our takeout order. Kiss of Fire roll nice kick from the jalapeño. Yellowtail scallion roll good quality pieces unlike other places that use yellowtail scraps. The beef yakisoba also looked tasty. I was worried the Fire Island roll would be drowning in sauce, but it came on the side which was great although the sauce didn't really have much flavor. Took a star off because they sent a wrong sashimi item. Least interesting were the tamago and the salmon skin salad which was small and comes with thinly shredded cucumber not greens.

Salina T.

Yelp
I only got the yummy roll and the angel roll, but I'm very pleased with Atami. The service was clean and friendly, also green tea and the oranges at the end were complimentary! I would come back here with friends, it's definitely a place I would be able to enjoy with friends!

Melissa P.

Yelp
I was looking for a good delivery sushi place on the upper east side, but this place is not it. I got the mermaid roll and passion roll (with the sauce on the side for both) and both rolls did not taste fresh. It almost tasted like they used old fish. I won't be ordering from here any time soon.

ZenFoodster E.

Yelp
Altho' delivery was fast, food tasted as unattractive as it looked. While Teriyaki sauce, veggies & Pork Gyoza were good, the rest of the Chicken Teriyaki lunch bento was just okay. California & Futo Maki rolls has stale rice & soggy, fishy-tasting seaweed that made the veggies even taste fishy! Tempura batter was so thick & greasy, it overpowered the puny frozen shrimp inside. This place will def NOT be on my lunch rotation.

Stephanie Q.

Yelp
This is one of those typical sushi restaurants that are cheap and just ok. You don't come here for real good sushi. You come here because you are feeling cheap and want to eat ok sushi, and perhaps some fake rolls full of cream cheese or fish that is about to go bad (in other words, spicy tuna). I came here one night as I didn't want to spend more than $25 on sushi and wanted to be full. Mission accomplished.

Sherman L.

Yelp
My go to sushi spot on the UES. Always on time and always super fresh tasting. Better than the other options in the neighborhood.

Cici B.

Yelp
Trying to find affordable yet tasty sushi in the city is seemingly impossible but, Atami really delivered in our Friday night sushi take out craving. I ordered 6 rolls and each one came out tasting great and full of great flavor! I highly recommend the fashion roll! Also decided to try the mushroom and asparagus roll and it was actually so much better than expected. Definitely will be coming back when my next sushi craving hits!

Kelly J.

Yelp
I would highly recommend this place! I had the chicken fried rice and miso soup combo and it was ~delicious~. It was only $12 and was a good portion of food and filled me up. My boyfriend got the shrimp tempura box and was a lot more food than my dinner and it was $18. It was also wonderful and had a great variety of California roll, salad, shrimp tempura and dumplings. Also we happened to be here during happy hour and beer was only $2!! Where else will you get that in NYC? It is a small restaurant with efficient service. Overall 10/10 and I will definitely come back!

Alex B.

Yelp
The best sushi in NYC! I truly NEVER leave reviews... (maybe once or twice a year) but after another great order on UberEats where they are called 'Sushi Manor' I had to come online and commend this place to everyone. Always delicious food and a great price. Lots of options and consistently fresh and delicious. I have lived in Manhattan now for 2 years and have travelled the world and tried the top quality food and I can say that this is a gem of a find. 10/10 :)

Jonathan A.

Yelp
I came in for lunch and enjoyed the sushi sashimi special. It's was reasonable and a decent amount of food.

Rebecca A.

Yelp
Dope sushi, salmon and tuna rolls and my goto and both were very fresh and generously made

Amanda W.

Yelp
Great hole in the wall neighborhood sushi joint. Got the sashimi deluxe platter and the soft shell crab appetizer. was super fresh and the portions were great (especially for the price).

Mona S.

Yelp
I am in nyc for work and thought id order from here on ubereats since it has good reviews. The food was not fresh at all!! I didn't even finish my sashimi :( One star for the miso soup I guess I should stick with ordering sushi in California. Surprising because of all the good reviews So disappointed and what a waste

Leslie P.

Yelp
Worst Pad Thai! If u want to order from them I recommend to just get sushi which is not bad. Do not order Thai food from them.

Galiya R.

Yelp
I always love to come to this place for at least 4-5 years already and I think they have great sushi but my last visit was unpleasant and awkward. Indoor dining was open and I chose to eat in. The woman employee was very mean and rude. Because of this I gotta look for other sushi places.

Shambavi K.

Yelp
I just had take out there a week ago. It was prepared on time. I had the sashimi appetizer which was pretty good. The oyako don was kinda disappointing. The chicken was not flavorful enough was kind of dry - would have preferred dark meat.

Parviz M.

Yelp
Specific: due (i) the quality (both ingredients); (ii) quantity (portion of serving), (iii) mastery of cooking as well as aesthetic of display; (iv) price; (v) cleanliness of the store; (vi) service {in the dinning room as well as delivery, ATAMI in my opinion, an 87 years old retired Prof, who has dinned all over the globe, except S. America, Sub Sahara, and India-Pakistan-Bangladesh, ranks a top 5-star rating. General: Japanese cuisine due to its health concern (e.g., Sashimi has no carbohydrates, no fried oil cooking) has gained popularity in NYC, e.g., in second avenue between 35th and 57th street there are a number of good Japanese restaurants, such as Ginza Sushi (35st St,), Dai Hachi (57th St., especially Panda Roll and Yellowtail Neck broiled) and ATAMI (58th street), as well as markets that provide an adequate Sushi Bar, e.g., Gristedes (40th St; best quality and price for yellowtail belly in NYC) and Morton Willems (54th street).Recommended dishes: all Sashimi, especially "baby yellowtail," "Uni {sea urchin}," "scallop,"; all special hand rolls, especially "sashimi Lover {no rice, I requested without mango; a true master piece); all appetizers, specially "steamed egg plants," "octopus," and "soft shell crabs." Best service, e.g., an oriental lady named "Nancy," graceful, dignified and efficient. Also, very clean modest ambiance, no noisy music. In addition to other super restaurants such as "Caviar Russe {53rd and Madison}." "Keens Chop House {36th street and 6thAvenue," "Tocqueville {15th Street and 5th Avenue," "Serge's Deli {36th street and 3rd Avenue}," and Alibaba Kitchen (46 the street and 2nd Avenue)," We New Yorkers should go beyond the call of duty and assure that ATAMI survives and prospers -in the long run these establishments like Museums and academic institutions improve the well-being of what makes The Big Apple the best place to live and to visit.

Sarie L.

Yelp
OMG, Atami Japanese Fusion was simply excellent. The atmosphere is also amazing. I am really glad that we got Gyoza, this was one of their finest dishes, really flavorful and delicious. Team is really nice. They are swift and skilled. I 'd like to try Atami Japanese Fusion again.

Tatyana L.

Yelp
The place is good. I have been ordering food at this place for over a year, but last few times the quality got worse.

Paige H.

Yelp
Great sushi & an ok saki menu. We had a sashimi platter along with my orders spicy salmon roll, spider roll, . I LOVE LOVE LOVE their fried ice cream. Red bean ice cream is the absolute BOMB. Service is fantastic. Prices are very fair. Those gals are on cue-on it like white on rice lol anything you need these ladies are happy to help. Whatever you need & they're there! Great ambiance & good for a quick bite. Also they do deliver!

Asher W.

Yelp
SEAMLESS: To be totally honest, this is the best delivery sushi I've ever had. Ordered at 10:41pm, door bell rang at 11:03. The reason this is the best delivery sushi I've ever had? The rice, the fish, the wasabi, the time. Whats not to love? If youre on seamless looking to order sushi this is your place! And its cheap! The rice: super super fresh. You can tell fresh rice when you go to bite it. Fresh rice has that slightly warm and extremely soft texture. You can actually separate each grain in your mouth. Crappy rice is cold and refrigerated tasting, and the grains are hard and stick together like glue. This sushi had the nice warm rice with a really soft texture. Absolutely perfect. The wasabi: cheap sushi joints give you that wasabi where its never actually spicy enough. Thats crap wasabi. This stuff was powerful. A marble sized amount had enough of a punch to satisfy me. Thats rare. The fish: wow, really fantastic. Nice fresh fish with great flavor. Also not cold and disgusting. Nice and mid temp to the point that you know it was freshly sliced and dressed. The way a sushi restairant does it when they have a high volume of customers instead of an empty reataurant with fish sitting is coolers for forever. The seaweed: nice and crunchy, with a tad bit of chewiness. How i like it. Time: lastly, it always comes down to time. I live a half mile away. This place delivered sushi to my door less than 25 min after i got the confirmation email from seamless. Thats just awesome. It allows the sushi to keep all of those great aspects that great sushi represents, as I've outline ls above. Four stars because I don't feel confident giving a place five before I've dined in. Thats he only reason. That being said I will definitely be ordering from here from now on whenever I have a sushi craving. Do yourself a favor and do the same. Sorry I ate it all before i had time to take a pic. I'll snap a photo next time.

Grace B.

Yelp
Ordered the Maki combo B on seamless. I'm always worried about ordering sushi for delivery as sushi isn't something you want to gamble on. However, I was very happy with my order. The Maki Combo B was $15 and included a california roll, eel avocado roll, and shrimp tempura roll with a soup or salad. I asked for extra ginger and wasabi which they more than amply provided me with. The shrimp tempura roll and california roll were flavorful. However, the eel avocado roll had too much of the skin and fat of the eel in the roll that didn't leave a great flavor in our mouth. Overall, a solid and seemingly reliable choice.

Ari A.

Yelp
Combo Menus are back! You don't need to be a kid eating at McDonalds to get stoked for a combo meal. Sushi is great, but sometimes you get overwhelmed with all your options, so let's go with a combo that picks your meal for you. I did the Spicy Crunchy Maki Combo and got what I expected.Solid sushi halfway between the ballet studio and the NQR train. What more could I ask for?

Trivina N.

Yelp
Atami is my number 1 place to eat in Midtown. In that area things can turn out to be a nightmare. This place keeps it super simple, which is my style. If you want two of the same ordered roll just write it in the notes, they got you covered. I always get theblunch special with the 2 or 3 roll combo! Delivery is fast!

Ali L.

Yelp
The best sushi in NYC. Amazing and friendly staff and the sushi is always fresh and absolutely delicious. The restaurant itself is also very clean - great for dine in and/or takeout.

Suelem L.

Yelp
I just found this place and .. omg so cute, really good food, they have a lunch special also... the server was amazing ... definitely my new favorite spot!

Paul M.

Yelp
Wow! I just had the chicken katsu bento box and became the envy of my office. Tons of delicious food for an amazing price. Could not finish it all. Really impressed with the food. The chicken was great and the gyoza were awesome. Cannot wait to try it again.

Nahian B.

Yelp
Great sushi great price and super cheap considering the area. You can get 2 rolls an appetizer and a soup/salad for 10 buckaronis.

Jayson T.

Yelp
Always fast and friendly. Sushi is consistently good. It is my go to place for standard take out sushi. They do have some seating inside as well, but have never dined in. I recommend their lunch combinations.

Corrine R.

Yelp
This place is great and has lots of healthy options which I always look for!! They were kind enough to give me salad and soup with my meal instead of rice and listened to my picky requests! The shrimp skewers were great as well as the cod!! Definitely glad I stopped by today!

Chaewon L.

Yelp
Solid food! I had an order takeout, and the food was all prepared even before I was there The price is around the average, I won't say it's an "amazing" or "outstanding" sushi place, though the food was overall good Portion was just enough for two people

Sarah K.

Yelp
Recently celebrated a friend's birthday here & it was the best choice in town. The food and the ambiance was perfect for a group of 15 guests. The price was very affordable compared to other Japanese or Asian fusion restaurants in Manhattan- there's something for everyone's budget and appetite. I was very impressed with the service overall. The food was hot and cooked to perfection. Personally I ordered the Tofu Teriyaki and they gave a hearty portion of tofu, rice, vegetables, & miso soup all for $11. Even better, despite having a group of 15 people, there was hardly any wait for the food. The complimentary oranges at the end were a nice touch and complimented the food very well
