"Located at the geographic heart of downtown, the new Discovery District was years in the making and is a great outdoor meeting, drinking, and dining spot for commuters and tourists alike. It's essentially an enormous courtyard, so it's easy to navigate—the only real choice is where to sit and order. Jaxon, with its large outdoor space, is a favorite, but there are also plenty of great options in the Food Hall, including Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine from Baboushi and delicious seafood options from The Dock. AT&T clearly put a lot of thought into the space's installations: the 104-foot-tall Media Wall is hard to miss, bringing digital art to life in incredible detail, while The Globe is a perspective-twisting multicolored tunnel containing an interactive light and sound experience. It's a perfect place for a weekday lunch or a relaxed evening, with excellent people-watching as all of Dallas flows by." - Priya Krishna, Jonathan Thompson

"Let’s start big picture. What’s the vibe here? Pretty much at the geographic heart of downtown Dallas , the new Discovery District is a great outdoor meeting, drinking, and dining spot for downtown commuters and tourists alike. Any standout features or must-sees? The 104-foot-tall "Media Wall" is hard to miss, bringing digital art to life in incredible detail. "The Globe" is a perspective-twisting multicolored tunnel containing an interactive light and sound experience. Was it easy to get around? The Discovery District is essentially an enormous courtyard, so it's easy to navigate. The only real choice is where to sit down and order drinks and food. Jaxon, with its large outdoor space, is a favorite, but there are also plenty of great options in the Food Hall, including Lebanese and Moroccan cuisine from Baboushi and delicious seafood options from The Dock. All said and done, what—and who—is this best for? The Discovery District was years in the making, and AT&T clearly put plenty of thought into it. This spot is perfect for a weekday lunch or a relaxed evening, with food options for any mood and excellent people-watching as downtown Dallas flows by." - Jonathan Thompson

"Just in time for the weather to get nice, Downtown Dallas’s newest open-air beer drinking destination Jaxon Texas Kitchen and Beer Garden will make its debut next month. The restaurant announced its impending arrival on March 2 at the AT&T Discovery District at 311 South Akard Street in a press release on Tuesday, and it’s seriously massive. The restaurant will boast a 4,400 square foot dining room that will offer seating for upwards of 160 diners alongside a gigantic 10,000 square foot patio that will face an equally enormous, 104-feet-tall “media wall” that will show “movies, sports, curated digital art, and more throughout the year,” per the release. As far as the food is concerned, look forward to a menu of Southern influenced comfort food from chef David Gilbert, a James Beard Award nominee. Dishes like sticky ribs in tamarind barbecue sauce are on the menu, along with beef fat french fries, green chili and brisket mac-and-cheese, and smoky chicken posole. Barbecue will be a significant part of the menu, with options ranging from vegetarian smoked cauliflower to the traditional ribs, brisket, sausage, and pulled pork. On the boozy side of the menu, longtime Dallas barman Alex Fletcher has selected a line-up of more than 30 beers on tap, along with crowd-friendly cocktails like mango margaritas spiked with chamoy. When Jaxon Texas Kitchen arrives, it will be open Sunday through Thursday from 10:30 a.m. to midnight, and Friday and Saturday from 10:30 a.m. to 2 a.m." - Amy McCarthy

Google
Beautiful area to relax and sightsee. I spotted at least two security guards so you know it is safe! There is also the exchange hall nearby with some decent eats and it is like a block away from the giant eyeball. I happened to visit it on a rainy day so not much was going on. I would love to return again and see it in it's full glory.

Google
The Discovery District is a really cool area of downtown Dallas. Closed off to cars, the area is walkable with a huge interactive display that rotates images through the day. Fun tourist attraction like The Globe and public exhibits. The plaza has a food court with many great dining options for all food tastes and cravings. Throughout the year there are movies shown on the big screen and live music events on the lawn. The district hosts gteat community events designed to bring people together. Fun place to visit when in Dallas.

Google
This is an awesome place to bring ones that are visiting. There are many local food shops to choose from, the atmosphere is friendly, and it’s very clean. Parking can be a bit tricky, but there is a garage called ATT 8 that you can park at for free. REMEMBER TO BRING YOUR TICKET WITH YOU. They can validate it inside of “The Exchange”.

This was our first time going here. We have lived in DFW all our lives (40 years) and never knew this area existed. There was way too much to take in on one trip. We will definitely be going back.

I spent most of my AT&T career downtown Dallas at One Bell Plaza (Then) and have to come to the building sometimes. This area has really changed since headquarters was moved here. It has brought alot of flair to the Downtown area.

Google
Such a cool place to hang especially with this great weather. Restaurants and open space to sit and chill with friends and family.

Google
IF DALLAS HAD A TIMES SQUARE, this would be it. This is the place to congregate downtown for festivals, parties, special events and general people watching 👀 Awesome 👌🏾 place, fun place 😁

Google
Really cool. Great food and art. Wish I had more time there.

Yelp
This is area is super cute to visit. They had this cool vday display up. Lots of eating areas as well. So much security that I never felt unsafe in downtown

Yelp
The only discovery made here was that AT&T Discovery District is definitely not worthy of these raving reviews because let's be real here what even is the appeal? No, really someone please explain it to me because I saw a few TikTok's recommending this place. Well anyway, for those of us apparently not in the "know" of this gem I hope you like AstroTurf and patio furniture because besides the terrified AT&T employees scurrying to their cars clutching their bags in fear of not just the swarms of precious outdoor angels but of us, the wandering tourists, that's all you're gonna get. You can choose to brave the city, should you be so bold. But all that awaits you is some "stuff" maybe some restaurants? A store? A weird half empty building attached to a lobby to a high rise apartment. Now to end this open faced compliment sandwich. They offer free parking with validation from the bar at the exchange which is a single story food hall thing that's got a decent variety of food options but that deserves a review of its own.

Yelp
Nice, safe, and pleasant spot to relax downtown outside. Art and furniture. Media wall. Upscale food court and bar. Live music sometimes. Not a place to seek out but rather to happen upon and enjoy for us.

Nicole A.

Yelp
Easy spot for food with groups needing different options. It says it closes at 11 but many places were closed when we got there at 10:30 after an evening of a tournament.

Nicole E.

Yelp
Stumbled upon this area today on our downtown Dallas walk. Part off the walkway is closed off for pedestrians only on Jackson for a block or so. Could see this area getting busy on a warm sunny day. It was colder, windy and Thanksgiving today. Could use some shading and trees. The Christmas tree is nice. Big silver ball ornaments that are bigger than my hand.

Chloe T.

Yelp
Since it was right across from our hotel, we had to check out the AT&T Discovery District. The area offers a few shops, restaurants, and of course plenty of AT&T work buildings. Plenty of places to lounge around as well. Would be perfect to bring your laptop and get some work done.

Stephen N.

Yelp
Spacious and nice area when I came to visit in the spring 2024. There's seating in the vicinity to relax and people watch.

Melody T.

Yelp
Amazing place to relax, enjoy, and chill! Sit outside or dine in one of the restaurants! Love that this place always has some sort of live entertainment! It's always been a vibe! Safe, clean, and upkeep is on point! Street parking, ensure to pay ...! Drinks and food can be taken from the restaurants to the lawn area! If coming for a concert, bring your lawn chairs or blankets to sit on! Enjoy!

Yelp
Reach out and touch someone! (Please don't touch people here) This is a weird public/private kinda park in the middle of downtown. Here's the (brief) history. Ma Bell got broken up into lots of the little "Baby Bells" due to anti-trust legislation back in the day. Southwestern Bell came out on the top of the heap. Southwestern Bell was headquartered in beautiful San Antonio. They bought out AT&T, changed their name from Southwestern Bell to AT&T, the smaller company, and then moved their headquarters from San Antonio to Dallas, where there's better airports. Scoff. AT&T bought out four whole city blocks (and more) downtown Dallas, took out the streets that run between them, and created a public pedestrian space that's carefully guarded by private security. "Stay out of the fountains!" They shout at people wanting to cool off on a hot day. They show movies here, and have a big ol' screen like they have in Times Square. There's a pavillion that's shaped like the Death Star you see on all your AT&T statements, and the food court has some reasonably priced grub. It's a fun spot to sit and watch the crowds go by. Be sure to check out the lobby with all the futuristic screens and art gallery. There's a whole other Yelp page for that. This is not a review for just AT&T, it's for their downtown public campus.

Terrance G.

Yelp
Took some friends here that were visiting out of town and they thoroughly enjoyed themselves. We grabbed some boozy apple cider from one of the outdoor bars located by the stage they had placed for some live music. We were able to go inside if the food court area, which has many options from pizza to tacos and a full bar. They also had a bad Santa upstairs for adults and kids.

Ahad D.

Yelp
Great atmosphere for people watching, chatting with a pal, or meditating. When you done chilling out, there is plenty of art, food and music in a futuristic space in the heart of the city. It's a unique and enjoyable experience and I had no intention of stopping there on my way to a work lunch. I canceled and sat by the "jelly fish" for 2 more hours in 70 degree sunlight.

Rebecca Y.

Yelp
AT&T Discovery District is a pedestrian greenspace downtown in the middle of a complex of AT&T buildings. A multistory TV screen which AT&T uses to display advertisements and videos towers over the space. There's ample tables and seating, and fountains and art installations make it a pleasant space. When I visited on the weekend, it was filled with families and young children enjoying running around. There were a number of security guards too which I think was appropriate for its downtown location. The Exchange food hall is in the center of this space, so you can grab a bite to eat there and then enjoy your food outside. There's also a public restroom inside The Exchange, so I recommend that if you're needing a pitstop downtown.

Chris K.

Yelp
I spent some time in downtown Dallas this weekend enjoying the great weather and taking photos of architecture and the AT&T Discovery District which opened one year ago. It's really amazing with lots of people relaxing in the yard, having drinks at the Jaxon Beer Garden or viewing the multiple media walls outside and in the lobby. I highly recommend visiting and spending a few hours relaxing in the plaza.

Josh O.

Yelp
This is a great spot to take the family or a date in the downtown Dallas area. Always come here to check out the Cowboys or Mavs games. Ideal if you don't want to spend a lot of money and not deal with large crowds. Spacious outdoor lawn with a humongous big screen. I suggest coming early to find a good spot to spread a blanket or set up some outdoor chairs . Parking is validated upon purchase of a drink or food item from the many vendors , just ask a server. There's also inside seating if the weather doesn't permit so that's a plus as well for the unpredictable Texas weather. Nice spot if your a tourist or first time visiting Dallas.

Jade L.

Yelp
This is such a cute spot! There's a food court nearby and when I was there, there was a movie screening of Selena that was open to the public. There were booths selling Selena merchandise and there were plenty of cars showcased around the area. I guess they do events here from time to time so I would definitely look up upcoming events before you go to Dallas. Some areas in Downton Dallas don't feel safe but this area is a nice little bubble of safety as there was lot of security patrolling the area and the area was well maintained and clean.

Jodi W.

Yelp
Just had to add some more cool pics from this place! We've visited several times and keep finding new things to explore!

Yelp
Review for Easy Slider-The Exchange inside the food court of AT&T Discovery District. Was here on business and needed to pick up food for dinner to take back to the hotel. The folks at the counter were friendly, professional and attentive. They offer several types of sliders, I opted for the Classic, the roadside & side of tots. Everything was prepared to order, fresh and seasoned well and the tots were nice and crispy even after I returned to the hotel before dining. The next time I am in town I would absolutely return to try other things.

Jasmine D.

Yelp
Really cool place to be. Parking is really easy you just parking in the at&t garage and they have signs leading you the discovery area. When you first get there they have a huge media wall with different pictures, art and ads showing. They have a lawn area where you can play games or just sit and enjoy your friends. They also have games like a large connect four. There is food in the food court like area called the exchange. There are also a couple restaurants outside the exchange to enjoy but you can also bring your own food and enjoy on the lawn if you want. They also have an interactive at&t store you can go in an play with some new technology. There was an art exhibit when we went and also these large screens with swimming jellyfish on them. The area is super safe a you have multiple security throughout and police patrolling the area. It's a great spot to visit if you are in Dallas

Yelp
Have been here twice !!!!! Worth it. Fun to walk around spend an hour or 2. They have food and little pop up alcohol shacks. Very cool place to hang. Parking is decent near the area so you don't have to walk far. Go for it. Chill. Bring the kids. At night people sell stuff for kids too. Little light up toys. People walking around. Just nice.

Yelp
@they actual space is beautiful but we tried 3 different restaurants and the food was inedible. Especially an all edged lamb gyro that looked and tasted like shredded bbq from 7"11. Bad sushi and a terrible fish taco. Very disappointed in the food.

Laura T.

Yelp
This screen is huge, looks very clear, and 3D too! You can hear the sound system everywhere! It is Very good for movies. Here is a good view of what it looks like: https://youtu.be/wbrNKSdnJTI
