"A Tavola in Ukrainian Village is easy to miss because it looks like a regular ol’ house. But just beyond the foyer (because it is, in fact, an old house) is an intimate Italian restaurant, decked out with thick window curtains and black and white photos. It's full of regulars who’ve been eating there for years, and don't be surprised if you see a kid blowing out birthday candles. And in the summer, you can enjoy pillowy housemade gnocchi or short rib risotto on the secluded back patio." - adrian kane, veda kilaru, john ringor

I had the pecan French toast, which was insanely good. It doesn't look like much before it's assembled (it was my first time there so I had no idea) but it is stunning when you get it! The coffee, just the basic black drip, is good. The cookies I brought home were gobbled up immediately. I loved the vibe, the gifts and crazy amount of imported foods are great. I am not going to buy the $200 candle, but I did get a tiny pumpkin for the fall & that made me happy enough with the delicious food!

Pros- Clean, friendly & helpful staff, beautiful atmosphere and a wonderful respite from the smoky & hot outdoors. However, there is available beautiful outside seating in the mornings to enjoy in a garden-like setting. Inside, find a complimentary library to peruse as you relax. Be sure to visit in the fall/winter holidays as they open a larger connecting space with treats for the eyes! You can order coffee from the deli counter and/or pay for all of your purchases at the coffee counter. After ordering, you are given a table number flag, so the staff can bring out your food/coffee. No need to clean up afterwards, as they will buss your table for you. The Croque Monsieur was delightful with accompanying vinegrette-dressed greens. The vinegrette was bright and not overpowering. I had the mexican coffee with oatmilk , which proved to be perfectly balanced and satisfying. You can spend an enjoyable time looking at all the imported items for sale and count yourself lucky to buy a few. Flowers, candles, gifts, cold items, frozen items, wines, coffees, pastries, deli salads & proteins. . Cons- Be sure to check your credit card balance before arriving. Prices are high! Image a piece of cooked salmon at $14.95, by itself, no sides! Also small jars of sauce for $12.99. Unfortunately, this means this is a once or twice a year stop and cannot be a regular visit because of the expensive items. My sandwich was unfortunately dry & had very little ham inside. There is a constant and annoying bell ringing, that went on for my entire stay. I'm told it is to alert the staff of pickup orders from the kitchen and such, but there must be a better way to do this without grading on the nerves of the customers, or is this to drive us out and prevent "camping". Before 9am, and they ran out of plain croissants? They should be having adequate stock thru lunchtime. ... I did enjoy myself and would definitely return once I can pay off my credit card balance a little bit.

This was the most picture perfect breakfast I’ve ever had! Basic but everything was cooked to perfection. So many amazing choices on the menu. Wish I wasn’t leaving today. Don’t miss out!

Google
This place is a little overstimulating, but only because there is just so many amazing goods and food to look at! The employees were so kind and I loved the breakfast I had. I would love to go back and try some of their ready to bake meals!

Call me excessive! Call me an emotional eater! Call me to the table Honey! Wow! No wonder so many west coast folks are moving to Boise. A' Tavola Boise is by far the stuff that dreams are made of. I had forgotten what it is like to be inspired when walking into a space that transports one from the everyday to extraordinary. Lisa and Peter, Wow! You have to be proud of this place! The quality of food is excessively GOOD! The staff here has always been inviting and a joy to chat with. This feels like a little piece of Italy in downtown Boise. Also, today we had to sample a few items from the Bakery as well! Who knew that even a cookie could taste that good. Reminded me of something my mom had made for me years ago! You can't go wrong here! Absolutely delicious!!

A’ Tavola in Boise is my favorite Idaho food-related business. Whether you live in the Treasure Valley or are just visiting, you need to check it out. There’s nothing else like it in the entire state. It is a food enthusiast’s dream! A’ Tavola means “at the table” in Italian. Italy is near and dear to heart of the owner, Lisa Peterson. There is a link in the comments that explains how her business came to be. Everything about a A’Tavola is inviting, starting with the entrance. There is a beautifully landscaped patio with outdoor seating. When you enter the doors and turn to your right, you will find the most wonderful Bakery. In addition to a large array of desserts, there’s a great coffee menu. The bakery case and surrounding counters are filled with lots of wonderful options to choose from. The Whiskey Pecan Bar is a customer favorite. I love Lisa’s homemade cakes and cookies. The best German Chocolate cake I ever ate was Lisa’s. A’ Atavola is stocked full of wonderful food and kitchen related items. It’s a great place to buy something special for yourself, or a gift. The wall on the left features, Lisa’s personal Cookbook Library, which you are welcome to peruse. There are also cookbooks available to purchase in the store. A’ Tavola has a nice Breakfast and Lunch menu, as well as a large cold case full of items to choose from. It’s a great place to meet friends for breakfast or lunch, and pick up some thing to bring home for dinner. Some of my favorite items are the salads, soups, large variety of Enchiladas, and Lisa’s famous Tuna Salad. A’Tavola a wonderful deli case, full of items from various vendors, as well as a number of housemade items. A couple of my favorites are Lisa’s Pimento Cheese Spread and Caramelized Onion Dip. A’Tavola also has freezer cases full of wonderful items that include soups, appetizers, entrées, desserts, and other items. There’s a well-stocked cold case full of delicious beverages too. A’Tavola also offers Catering and Culinary Food Tours! One of the things on my bucket list is to take one of Lisa’s trips to Italy or France someday. Highly Recommended!!! Location: 1515 West Grove St.

A’tavola - where have I been. The espresso is acceptable. The food is 110% top notch. I had the Loraine Scramble and my wife had the big breakfast. I can’t wait to try the catering options. Need something last minute? They have huge trays of great tasting food ready go.

Google
This is a great example of Quality over Quantity. Very tasty high quality food, but it also comes with a higher price point and smaller portions. I recommend the Spicy Breakfast Sandwich! Eggcellent! The scramble was a little small and not worth the price. The blueberry French toast was legit, fancy & not too sweet. Service is hit or miss… they don’t bus their tables quickly & had a hard time with the guy taking my order… I asked for a side of béchamel… they said it was only for the croque monsieur… bummer. Really cute decor & fine food market. They have a secret Christmas room hidden out back. Very beautiful items, make sure to jingle the sleigh bells. Pro Tip: try the Apple French Toast on Saturday Brunch! 🍏🇫🇷🍞

Yelp
I'm sorry to say this is not a place I would revisit. The morning potatoes tasted as though the oil was rancid. The Mexican mocha had way too much cinnamon in it. We had to buy more butter and jam for our toast as it did not come with that. This is not a customer friendly place. We were told that eggs only come scrambled and there were no other choice.. We were told that all lattes came with whole milk. I did inquire if they had other milk choices and reluctantly she said yes. Overall the vibe was not friendly or a feel-good type atmosphere.

Yelp
Such a fortuitous stop we made ar "A Tavola" this past weekend. In our continuing exploration of our new envrions, we are more than pleased to have another great find. Was a bit surprised to realize that parking, even in the downtown area on a Saturday, was ample and close to the entrance. We noted several tables & chairs on the front of the building, however, given the rainy weather we opted to dine inside. Stepping inside we were immediately reminded of an old haunt of ours in the Sacramento area called "Selland's Market Café". Plenty of market item cases - filled with both pre-packaged and fresh items (more on that futher in this review). No question that we'd be shopping right after dining. You order here deli counter style - many fresh items can be spied in the tall glass counters to tempt you - along with a fairly diverse menu as well. The choices are different enough so as to make deciding what to order is sacrificing one delicious-sounding dish for another. Can always visit again however. My dining co-pilot selected the "House Roasted Turkey Sandwich" - turkey, mayo, tomato, onion, cucumber, lettuce, and cheddar on a rustic bread. Mixed green salad (option to choose chips) also provided. Thumbs up on the sammy from my co-pilot. As for me, well, as soon as I read "Breakfast Enchiladas" I was sold. Although the look of this dish says "lasagna" the taste was definitively enchilada-like. Comprised of corn tortilla layers, egg omelette, chorizo (I am a lifelong fan of Mexican-style chorizo, especially when spuds are involved), roasted chilies, cheese & potatoes with zesty red sauce. Served alongside fresh fruit, salsa & sour cream. For me this meal hit on all counts - great taste, texturally pleasing, a nice, medium layer of spicy heat. The fresh fruit was a nice compliment on the cool and refreshing side. Would definitely order this plate again (oh, but read on)... We of course had to shop the rest of the market after eating. A myriad of different packaged products found on multiple shelves and counters surrounding the indoor dining areas. Most are gourmet-themed items - wines, candies, charcuterie goods, baked goods, etc. Beyond that, A Tavola also has a "sweet" counter just as you walk in the front door. Countering the diverse savory selections at the restaurant with yet another decision-making conundrum of what else can be ordered to take home on the sweet side. In yet another rewarding section - the frozen food area - carries many of the same items from the restaurant in a convenient take-home, foil packaged format. I definitely grabbed a frozen Breakfast Enchilada to take home with me! We also snagged a sausage & bell pepper quiche, roasted vegetable lasagna, hashbrown casserole, and even a roll of chocholate chip cookie dough! Anxious to try all of the things that I was not able to sample today. All in all, dining here was a great experience, as was the post-meal shopping. We look forward to returning.

Yelp
My favorite restaurant in Boise! Happy hour is amazing! Staff is amazing but now that my Irish bartender Bain is in management I miss him! Isabella is a welcomed replacement! I love using the InKind app to pay my bill. Can't wait to go back!

Yelp
Very nice deli style cafe. Best salads ever. Coffee is delicious, plus the shopping for specialty items is fun to go through. Great place for coffee and desserts! My friend and I go twice a month.

Yelp
Such a beautiful taste you're getting from A Tavola ... At the first stepping into the place there are a lots of experience staffs very lovely ones

Yelp
I was "greeted" by an older lady who was rather off putting to be honest. She didn't say hello, thank you, none of the basic courtesies you expect. I wonder if she owned the place and just didn't care. I can't really imagine a regular employee acting like this. She made me wait to help someone else (which I was happy to wait, as they just had a quick question) but after, she didn't even apologize or thank me. Then, because I I hadn't properly given my order before making my way to the cashier (first time here), she asked me to go back and order properly. I was the only one in line. I walked back a couple of steps and had to wait for someone else to see me so I could order. It was pretty ridiculous really. I could see it being essential during a busy time but like I said I was the only one in line. I came in after the lunch rush. So I finally gave someone my order, walked back 2 or 3 steps to the cashier and had to wait again for her to finish what ever she was doing. To be honest, the sandwich I ordered was nothing special. It wasn't bad, but not memorable in the way you'd hope. I walked over to get a coffee and a cookie and the coffee was good, and the lady helping me was kind. The cookie was nothing special but I think I just ordered the wrong thing. Their desserts look pretty tasty and they have a lot to choose from. I don't think I would make this spot a routine stop, primarily because of the ho hum customer service of the first cashier. I like to visit places that have a warm and friendly atmosphere. I think this place is too big for its own good. But during Christmastime it could be a fun and friendly tradition.

Yelp
Beautiful shop filled with beautiful things! Stoped by for breakfast on a weekday. The Lorraine scramble and a side of fruit was fresh and delicious! It's a bit pricey overall, but the price vibes with the decor and atmosphere, attracting high society clientele. The atmosphere takes you to Italy and I immediately start fantasizing about going. Customer service is excellent. The seating is comfortable and plenty of options to sit inside outside, sunshine or shade. It's a very pleasant and comfortable place to brunch!

Beth O.

Yelp
I was too hungry to take pictures of the food I ate but I got a couple snaps of the Brie I brought home. If you have family in town take them here! Great food! Great service! Great atmosphere! Cute gifts and gift ideas. Not to mention a fun place to meet with friends and catch up! I had the quiche with fruit and hot tea. My friend had the quiche scramble and coffee. My friend said that this was her favorite breakfast EVER! I took home two chicken pot pies that I can't wait to try. And the spicy peach Brie is D-LISH! It's pricy, but SO worth it!

Yelp
In our quest to visit all 50 states we arrived in Boise this week for a fast 48 hour stay. Let the adventures begin. It was a pretty whirlwind few days. One of our only regrets was that we could not get back to this place for a revisit. This shop was the first stop and a highlight of our trip. We discovered it because it was near our hotel. We noticed in on the ride in and walked by it on our first walk. Since we were starving, but it was too early for diner and too late for lunch, we thought we would just get a fast bakery item to hold us over. Best decision ever! It is set up like a split gift shop type of cafe/store all in one. One side is a deli and one side is a bakery with lots of displays for gifts and imported foods in between. The aesthetics are wonderful. They also have a patio. It is a very pretty and charming spot. Great bakery case. We were informed that all their baked items are baked right in house except the Croissants which are ordered from a local speciality bakery called, "Gastons." Of course, Ms. Theatrical here. That led us into a rounding version of the Disney Gaston song from Beauty and the Beast and continued to be an annoying ear worm all day. Ha! We actually walked by Gaston's the next day and had a good giggle. Sadly, we could not visit that place too. I love a good Croissant. We got to A Tavola kind of late so was sad we did not have more time to explore all their offerings. Many of the speciality food items looked amazing and are very unique. Janna was very helpful and friendly to us. She was so wonderful. Janna mentioned that the owner travels often and just loves food. I can sure relate. She brings back/learns about cool goods not found here, per say. The deli items were all unique and looked amazing too. This is one of those places not easy to get out the door. Every item will have you saying things like, "Oh my gosh, look what they have," "Oh my, that is so cute," This looks different and delish." "Oh look a cute tea towel." You might, and I venture a gambling bet that you will, get distracted looking at everything. As far as our meal. We decided to go with the deli instead of the bakery and ordered the Butternut Apple soup. (well it was kind of fall for us being from PHX and all. I mean the temp was in the 70's-80's teehee) I also got a small scoop of the Greek style type of Chick Pea, Mediterranean salad. Omgosh, It was all so good. I really wanted to try everything in the Deli display case. I noticed on the menus they also have breakfast sandwiches and a lot of other food items to try. The deli case had some pretty unique chicken salads that I wish I had tried. Chicken Salad is my jam!!!! Service was outstanding by everyone we met inside. Janna really stood out and is our new best friend but all were friendly and welcoming. Honestly, we would be here every day if we lived in Boise. We loudly proclaim, that you should go check them out and soon. Thanks everyone there for the great memory.

Yelp
Historically I love this place - today not so much...$16 for a small salad with holes in the bread as big as the bread, wilted salad mixed in and maybe a tablespoon total of chicken salad...see picture...very disappointing, maybe it's a sign of the times but from here, I'm headed to Certified in Hyde Park...this is the first time I've gotten food to go so maybe that's the issue - she offered another piece of bread after I pointed it out but honestly, I'm just amazed it was okay to put this on the bread in the first place...

Yelp
Such an adorable cafe! Family built business with house made favorites, you can't beat it. Sandwiches, soups, salads, quiche, pastries, and the list goes on. A Tavola is great for brunch or lunch or the perfect place to pick up premade dinners for a big group! I recommend the jalapeño turkey crunch sandwich (wow) and the Waldorf salad from the case. They also have assorted wine and bubbly, beer, soda, flavored water, and of course an espresso bar. It is open order at the counter and open seating. Give yourself extra time when you go to peruse their market and pick up cute gifts and unique ingredients. The staff is very nice and efficient, even when they're busy! There is a small parking lot and a patio when weather permits.

Julie S.

Yelp
Best quiche ever! Great for holiday weekend brunch and literally anytime! Order one to go - DELICIOUS!

Yelp
Have not been here in YEARS and now I'm wondering why!? Had one of the best, freshest breakfasts I've had in town. The panini was cooked perfectly, loved the texture of the bread. My boyfriend got the breakfast plate and loved his too, although the bacon was a tad over cooked for his liking. As a non ketchup lover, this one was actually pretty good as it was a balsamic ketchup. Really love poking around the little gift shop. Definitely want to go back and try some of the baked goods over by the coffee bar. They looked unreal! Specifically all the pie bars and the vanilla bean pistachio scone. The ambience is unmatched. There's nothing like it in Boise. It's clean, relaxing, friendly, and bright. It's a great place to have a bite to eat while working or reading a book. Will definitely be frequenting this place more often.

Yelp
Best place in Boise for sandwiches and deli foods. Plus, their frozen dinners are great to store in your freezer for a busy day. We stop there every time we're in Boise

Linda S.

Yelp
I love the assortment brunch foods to eat, the venue is special, and they it's a great place to get gifts. I didn't check but even a shopping/food card would be great to give to a special family member or friend.

Yelp
What a great surprise! I went to go see the secret Christmas market and thought I'd grab lunch on my way out, so glad I did! I got the jalapeño Turkey avocado sandwich ($15) and it is so good! I can't handle a lot spice and the lady who took my order said I'd be fine and she was right. So much flavor with the perfect amount of kick. Not to mention the bread is amazing! I got side salad instead of chips- great vinaigrette but next time I'll get the chips as the salad is just greens. Wish it had some tomato or cucumber etc just something added. Reason for 4 star is as it's been mentioned the ordering was a bit tricky, I wasn't sure where to actually order or view what was on the sandwiches. It was super busy ( great for them!) look forward to coming back and doing some shopping and eating! Also can't wait to try a take home lasagna and bread

Yvonny J.

Yelp
The ambiance is so fun! I love all the cute trinkets they had to offer, the pasties/desserts looked amazing too! I ordered a turkey sandwich and a side salad with a lemonade and it was a huge portion plus the lemonade was good. The price was a little high but you get what you pay for. The service was good too! Would come again for another lunch date.

Yelp
Great brunch place with quick service. Both outdoor and indoor seating is a good choice. All of our food was fantastic! We tried turkey sandwich, corn salad, deviled eggs, cookies, and some of the charcuterie options. Actually, there are a lot to choose. SO MANY OPTIONS AND SURPRISES!! That's why we always go back.

Laura W.

Yelp
So they have just about some the very best food in town. It's so so good . Really fresh , the sandwiches here are the best and there are a huge variety of salads . It's a cute place to go shopping at as well And they have a coffee bar , and seasonal adjoining shops in the back . It gets insanely busy , crowded and The parking lot can be dicey so the vibe of the place does kind of suck. . If you go you'll know . Its like , an old person hang out . They love it there . It's located in a super weird part of town . Right across the street from the strip club , the skate park and some other old hippy establishments but definitely worth going to check out and eat .

Zach S.

Yelp
One of the best lunches I've had in a long time. They have a lot of variety in their options: wife had the Chinese chicken salad, pesto pasta and the Frenchie sandwich. I had the house salad and Bali meatballs. All of it was excellent and I have no complaints. Our favorite part was the actual store where there was a lot of vintage and normal Christmas decorations, a great selection of artisanal meats, cheeses and vinegars, and a big dessert selection. This place will be in our regular rotation for lunch spots and we can't wait to come back!

Derek M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and the coffee shop was delicious. Only downgrading stars because of some of the small portions. Ordered blueberry French toast for $13 and got a small square that looked more like a piece of coffee cake.

Ely C.

Yelp
Food + service Definitely have a new regular customer for life. The only comment... this place is so popular on Saturday morning that you will need to bathe with patience. I was like lucky to arrive when the big traffic was down.

Kathleen C.

Yelp
Everything about this cafe and shop was outstanding! Food, staff, ambiance, merchandise. A favorite when I'm visiting Boise.

Gwen M.

Yelp
Not only does A Tavola have a great deli with a variety of sandwiches, quiche, salads, and soups, but shopping for unique salsas, cookies, oils and other special kitchen ingredients is FUN! I'm told their catering is divine as well, lthough I can't speak to that feature. Breakfast, coffee break or lunch - this is a go-to spot where you will find good food, a continental atmosphere, and gifts for friends or yourself. Staff was extremely friendly and responsive to questions you have on anything you find in the store. You will not be disappointed when you visit A Tavola.

Caitlin P.

Yelp
What can I say about this place apart from HOLY COW. AMAZING food, delicious coffee, pastries, and drinks. There's also a phenomenal selection of gourmet marketplace selections and gifts! I could spend an entire day in here! If you haven't been, make sure this is your next stop for lunch!

StaciLei T.

Yelp
A Tavola is a really cute lunch spot to eat at or a great place to pick up food for a picnic or party! My partner was recommended this place by his co-workers as a "great place to take your mom or girlfriend to for lunch". I think they said that because of the cute, fast but also fancy vibes that A Tavola has. The offerings can be a little bit overwhelming because of how unique and diverse the food is but it's a great place to try something new. The food is really artisan and reasonably priced for the experience you get. It's definitely priced more on the side of special occasion or taking someone you are trying to impress here. Coming here for lunch and then picking some sweet treats to share from their bakery / coffee corner is one of my personal favorite things to do with my significant other. Another really cute date idea would be coming here for breakfast and then getting a bunch of food for a picnic and maybe a bottle of wine, then taking that out to enjoy at outside at a park or out in nature. The parking lot makes it easy to stop by and there is great seating both indoors and out! This is one of those places where you order at a counter and then they give you a number and bring your food out to you when it's ready. You also don't have to worry about cleaning up after you're finished-- they will come and grab your plates for you. The service is really great, the people who work here are very friendly, all of them wear masks, and you can just tell that they care about the health and safety of their customers and employees.

Yelp
Transports you to a different place reminiscent of a specialty European sidewalk cafe! The menu is so diverse and plentiful with flavorful choices of unique dishes from the cafeteria-style deli ranging from turkey sandwiches on artisan breads to the cold salads made with ingredients for the more sophisticated palettes. They sell ready-made take home meals and a variety of imported bottled drinks from the serve-yourself cold cases for a convenient dinner idea. Their patisserie section has a wonderful variety of gourmet pastries, coffees, teas and cocoa. The center of the room has a spacious gift shop with the most unique merchandise from spices to candles to food kits and baubles...basically, everything you never knew you needed but were so happy to be tempted by. They offer inside and outside tables to seat yourself and even have a library nook with a longer conference table for a larger group. The shelves are filled with recipe books to be used during your visit, so bring your pad and favorite writing utensil to go away with your favorite recipes for trying in your own kitchen. Yelp
The food is always great. The patio is fantastic. I love the music they have playing. It feels like you traveled somewhere else. The people are always friendly and I love that they have a wide variety of gifts and specialty food items for sale.

Yelp
The atmosphere was really unique and sweet. However, food was expensive and not delicious. It tastes very ordinary for the expensive price. One of the servers was very kind, but there was another server who was extremely rude and passive aggressive to us at the table. We're from out of town and asked some questions about eating their food we purchased and some of our leftovers. She said yes, she can make an exception for us, but was giving us attitude the entire time. We felt so uncomfortable. Even tho we tried apologizing just to keep the peace, she was still giving us attitude. It was unprofessional and rude. Not the most pleasant experience when visiting Boise, Idaho so I would not recommend coming here. Again, we are from out of town and sometimes we have different requests. To the rude server: I'd suggest to be kind to all customers even when ppl ask questions. Or better yet, kindly say no to our request instead of saying yes and giving us attitude the whole time. We aren't going to come again. Beware of this place if you have special requests or questions because chances are, they won't like what they hear and will make it an uncomfortable experience.

Yelp
Tender, creamy, cheesy, flavorful quiche!! Daily flavor Mushroom and Leek, or Lorraine. Comes with either fresh fruit or green salad. Casual, cheerful and worth searching to find it!! Free parking of the street and friendly prompt staff: order at counter and they bring it to the table. Now to check out the bakery items!!

Yelp
Not cheap but fun and cool and great breakfast sandwich. I had been here years ago but for some reason thought it was gone. Big city is fine but it's loud and overrated imho so I saw this was still here and went woooo Lots of wines and cheeses and honey and cute overpriced gifts _ reminds me of a napa valley venue. Pretty bourgeois so a totally different vibe from big city, depending on what you are looking for Their breads come from Gaston's bakery.

Yelp
Loved it! This coffee breakfast spit is wonderful! Christa the manager was so nice and helpful and greeted us like we were special vips... but you quickly realize she treats everyone the same- all the staff are great too!

Yelp
Love this place! Amazing and fresh sandwiches with good gluten free options. Fun and interesting shopping to do. Super expensive though... but I continue to go back because it's worth it. Nice to have this place in Boise.

Yelp
I cannot think of anything else in Boise that is quite like A Tavola. This charming cafe has a personality of its own--and that is perhaps my favorite thing about it (next to the fact that it is located in a part of downtown Boise where you don't have to pay for parking)! Food: I've come here twice this past month and had a wonderful experience both times. Between the two experiences I've tried a latte, drip coffee, and their breakfast enchiladas. I enjoyed both of their coffees, and I was swooning over the breakfast enchiladas. I'm a sucker for savory breakfast and I love enchiladas--so this dish was like a dreamy collision of my favorite foods. It came with either fruit or salad on the side. I chose salad and was happy with this choice. The dressing that came on it was tangy and complimented the rest of the meal nicely. Service: Their employees are very friendly and welcoming. You order up at the cash register, find a seat of your choice, and then they bring your food out to you. I think my friends and I all had our food within 10 minutes of ordering. Vibe: Like I said at the beginning--this place has a personality that is unlike anywhere else I've been to in Boise. It's sort of like a cafe meets coffee shop, meets market/boutique. Their outside patio is also very nice and provides plenty of seating for folks who want to soak up some sunshine. Price/Etc: I paid $15 (tip included) for my food and coffee, which is about the price I like to keep my Saturday brunch outings around. For how yummy the food and coffee was, the great atmosphere and kind service, I'd say it was worth it! Also, did I mention that this area of downtown has FREE parking? **Praise hands.**

Yelp
Great new find for me. Asparagus egg dish was delicious and great chai. Very cute European ambiance

Yelp
The cutest little cafe! It has an area to shop around for pantry/gift items. I didn't have time to explore this - but it looks like they have a fun selection. Then they also have a cafe which has a wonderful food selection to choose from! You order at the counter and sit wherever. Deli items (potato salads, pasta salads, etc) are also offered. Affordable and delicious food (get the avo toast and thank me later). Pet friendly patio, which is always a plus for those of us with pups!

Yelp
This gem is a must visit in Boise. It is by far the best delicatessen in town. I've been coming here for years and the thing with this place is the food is Ah-Ma-Zing. So a few things to know about this lovely little place. #1 the broccoli salad, I kid not. Don't pass it up. If you were mourning the loss of the co-op offerings, they have come alive and surpassed expectations here. #2 the cookbooks. Seriously, one could spend hours paging through the wall of books. Browse at your leisure while sipping your coffee. #3 the hip vibe. Cool funky eclectic farmhouse chic. Inside and outside seating among all the cool stuff in this place. #4 the pastry & coffee counter..separated only by distance for the serious coffee customer vs. you lunchers out there. Don't fret, all the goods are available at the deli counter too. #5 cool ass kitchen/home stuff you didn't know you needed. Plus Stacey Cakes Ginger Snaps should you need a fix. Come for the food, stay for the ambiance, and don't forget your credit card.

Yelp
I must start by saying this is the most adorable place! I don't know how I waited so many years to experience it. The highlights for me are the adorable gift shop, the amazing variety of homemade foods for lunch and the little cafe with scrumptious desserts. This is a deli-style restaurant where they have several pre-made salads, sides and warm dishes like lasagna or enchiladas in display cases that you can choose from and they re-heat it up for you. Several of the items change daily and there are some that stick around. Although this is the style, it is quite delicious; I have yet to order something I didn't like. They also have a daily panini and a 3 salad combo that I highly recommend looking at as an option for lunch. Random fact, their house salad dressing is delicious. The gift shop is also amazing! They are always rotating things out depending on the upcoming season and they have the coolest unique items perfect for a gift you might be needing to buy or even just a unique piece to add to your home. Think of Cracker Barrel but more unique and classy. Lastly, the cafe. When you're done with lunch and have a sweet tooth you can walk to the cafe side and get yourself a delicious homemade dessert and espresso. I just tried the Coconut Cream Pie bar recently and it was to-die-for!! They have a full menu as far as coffee drinks go too that taste great. Overall, I will say I never leave without spending a minimum of $15+ on food so it is a bit overpriced but worth it. They have a wonderful large patio too for the warm months and it's a great spot for meeting a friend for a bite. If you haven't been yet, you need to go visit A'Tavola!

Yelp
My mom and I had an amazing time at A Tavola. We went to lunch and both had their soup of the day butternut squash and apple soup. She had the broccoli crunch salad and I had the lemon asparagus orzo salad and we both had a chai latte. All of the food was beyond delicious. We sat next to the owners father and he told us all about the culinary trips his daughter goes to in Europe and the handmade salads, pastries, dressings and food. It's so charming and I can't wait to go again. Such an amazing find!

Yelp
The food was terrific and the staff were very attentive and friendly. I could spend hours just walking around trying to decide what goodies I want to take home with me, cooking oils, spreads, jams & jellies and sauces from all over the world. This is a first class store!!

Yelp
Absolutely stunning spot! Lisa and Peter have out love into every inch of this side. From the baked goods, to the coffee, to the deli, to menu items, to the service and to the retail space. What find!!

Yelp
Exceptionally prepared delicious dishes! And what a selection they offer. Can't pass up their pimento cheese spread as a take home treat! Such friendly staff and delicious food makes for such a pleasant lunch. Oh. And don't forget the coffee bar!

Yelp
Visiting for the first time, we were amazed at the tasteful and versatile menu offerings. Then we walked through the bakery and store side and couldn't get enough. Great ambiance for breakfast & lunch, but also found take & bake dishes in the cold cases that compliment every thing in the Deli section! Lots of options for all occasions. We'll have to return 100 times to enjoy it all! Special thanks to Lisa, Peter, Grace & Emma who took such goodcare of our party! LOVED the ribs!!

Yelp
The breakfast is amazing!! Website could use a few tweaks, but love the desserts and all of the goodies for purchase in the shop!

Yelp
My husband and I had a good experience all around at A Tavola during our stop on a trip through Boise. For location, vibe, food, service, gourmet and home gift options, we enjoyed it all. Thanks to the friendly staff who made us feel welcome. VIBE Building seems re-purposed from a garage with big doors rolled up in nice weather. Open interior with lots of seating at communal and individual standard height (hooray) tables and chairs throughout. More seats on the patio in the front. Part café, part deli, part gourmet market, part bakery and espresso bar, part cookbook library, part home and kitchen gifts and accessories in a high ceiling open concept space divided up with seating and displays. I've read criticism focused, no kidding, on the fact that most of the clientele are female and of a certain age. That may be true but on the day of our visit, I'd say the people enjoying the patio and inside were about evenly split between men and women and across age groups. Not that the gender or age of people there should be a thing at all. But since it has been a thing for critics, thought I'd offer my observation. SERVICE From the moment we walked in the door and were greeted by the young woman at the bakery / coffee bar counter through our ordering of breakfast and coffee to our ordering of take out to take home, service was friendly and efficient. It was also very nice of them to provide us with a zip loc bag of ice to use in our cooler so we could order deli take out items to go with us for the several hour drive home. THE DRILL Order at the deli counter, including your coffee order, take a number and they'll deliver to your table. They also clear for you after you're done so no need to bus your own. FOOD So many choices on the menu at the counter and in the deli case. For breakfast we shared (it is big enough for sure) a chile relleno baked dish ($6.95) . Also small side of the broccoli, red grapes and almond salad to go with my breakfast. (Seriously.) Both tasty enough. The bold roast coffee was great, served piping hot in 12 oz mugs ($1.95). We bought several take out items to have for an easy meal when we got home later that day after a long drive. The picante tuna salad was good. Some of the other selections weren't as flavorful as I hoped. More what I'd describe as "caterer buffet quality". Deli items rotate frequently so it seems there might always be something new to try. The bakery case is too tempting to pass by. We thought the baked goods better than the deli items. Next visit to Boise would find us here for coffee and bakery only. PRICES Noting some have referenced this as break the bank pricing, I'll offer counterpoint that for my husband and me the deli food prices seemed reasonable for a gourmet / specialty store . Could be visitors who live elsewhere have a different frame of reference for pricing than locals. But comparing this to Oakville Grocery or Dean and Deluca, as analogs, in some of our old stomping grounds of SF area or NYC area or even food to go from food trucks in our current home in Bend, the prices here seemed reasonable to us for food items. The gifts and housewares seemed spendy. GO SLOW HOME / GIFT SHOPPING All kinds of pretty and handsome items for personal care, like soaps and lotions, or home, kitchen and gift items like candles, trivets, books, cookware, linens...the list goes on and on. A friend of mine calls this kind of store a "go slow shop" since you can see a new treasure tucked everywhere. Spendy, for sure, still I purchased gifts here that I didn't find elsewhere. ACCESSIBILITY Universally accessible design from level in and throughout and standard table height seating. Loo accessible too. Parking lot needs work for ADA compliance. HOURS Mon - Fri 7 - 6 Sat 7 - 5 LOCATION / PARKING Just outside the downtown core at 15th and Grove. Has its' own parking lot.

Yelp
My husband and I stopped by for breakfast as this place had such great Yelp reviews during our trip to Boise! I had the breakfast sandwich, and he had a spicy breakfast sandwich. Both were delicious! Service was awesome, and all the staff working here were super friendly and nice. We would definitely eat here again next time we are in Boise!
