Owner-operated and welcoming, this modest counter spot serves warm pitas, crisp fries, and generously sauced gyros. It’s the kind of place where the proprietor remembers you—simple, tasty Greek fare that anchors weeknight dinners in southeast BA.

Athens Gyros is a hidden gem in the area! There aren’t many places nearby, so I was thrilled to find this spot and it truly delivers. The food is consistently fresh and delicious. Their gyro reminds me of my time in the Middle East perfectly seasoned, flavorful, and satisfying. The owner, Omar, is always welcoming and genuinely happy to make your food just the way you like it. His friendliness makes the whole experience even better. The place is clean, the service is quick, and it feels good to support a local business that puts care into everything they do. Highly recommend Athens Gyros if you’re craving something tasty and authentic!

Our new favorite Greek food place. The food is made fresh, pitas are especially good. I'm not crazy about lamb, but the owner mixes it with beef and it's delicious. The baklava is a great finish after the gyros. The owner is super friendly and explains how he makes the food. A great find, and we go there often.

Went here to by some time with my girlfriend, the owner was very kind and generous. He let us try some of the meat and rice before purchasing any food, which we ended up getting the Gyro Platter. The meat was tasty and cooked well, The rice was amazing, the bread was very fresh and hot, and the salad was delicious and very fresh. And even though that we didn’t buy a drink, he insisted we take two with us. Amazing place to stop by, the atmosphere was great and service was amazing. I would 100% recommend you stop by and eat, and leave a good tip!

Food was good, but the salad was very very small and cost $13. Prices are too high. Owner was friendly and helpful.

Love the special—gyro, fries and a drink for under $12. Good quality ingredients and generous meat portion on the gyros. Super friendly and it’s always clean. It’s a 30 minute drive for me but it’s worth it!

This place is great. Simple, yet delicious gyros and food. My wife really liked the style of fries. Also took a friend to eat lunch there and got to know the owner more. One of the friendliest places. Went there 3 times already and will be back. Local business and a great way to support a small business restaurant owner.

If you are having a bad day, eat at Athens Gyro. I guarantee two things will happen: 1. You will leave with a smile on your face and 2. You will leave with a happy belly! The owner is as friendly as a puppy at the animal shelter looking to be adopted. A contagious glowing smile and gushing sincerity to have you as a customer. The best word that I can use to describe him is jolly. He is too skinny to play a Santa Claus and the accent wouldn’t’ work, but with his personality he would make a good one. My wife and I had the gyro special. A meat filled gyro, fries and a drink. (check the pics) We added a side of the hummus. The food is served up fresh, hot and fast. It is a delicious filling meal. Since this was our first visit the owner gave us a sampling of his fine baklava. It is clean, minimal décor, and today the tv in the corner was playing a documentary “The Night of the Grizzly,” which made for interesting lunch conversation. This little restaurant inconspicuously located just north of 51st Street on County Line (193rd) in the Stone Creek Retail Center. I remember when it opened a couple of years ago. I thought that it would never last a year. Well, it has been a couple of years now. The owner makes the difference! Eat Here! and Be Happy!
