It had been quite a while since my last visit, but the restaurant’s good reputation seems to have held steady. We started with clam chowder, oyster Rockefeller, and crab cake, each prepared with a level of seasoning that felt consistent across the meal. That same thread carried into the mains, where the lobster carbonara and halibut echoed the same flavor balance, almost like one theme running through the entire dinner. I enjoyed that sense of harmony, even though the carbonara leaned a bit heavy for me (likely more to do with my recent stretch of intermittent fasting than the dish itself).
I had wanted to try the fravolo, but the generous portions made it clear there would be no room left. The key lime pie, however, was a perfect finale: light in texture, not too sweet, and refreshing enough to close the evening gracefully.
We arrived at 5 pm, and the dining room filled quickly. Only one waiter was managing nearly ten tables, yet he handled it with steady composure. Hopefully it was by choice and not out of necessity, because he carried the evening impressively well. By the time we left, the noise level had risen sharply, a reminder that the calm early hours shift quickly into a lively, bustling scene.
Portions were larger than expected, and the overall experience was one of consistency, generosity, and balance, making it a satisfying return after so long away.
