Au Déjeuner de Sousceyrac

"A chef dedicated to his craft, Patrick Lagnès draws on solid classical foundations and fine produce to deliver high-quality cuisine. He even tries out a few more contemporary dishes when the inspiration takes him, while desserts are the work of his daughter. Diners are served in the intimate setting of a small dining area done out in traditional style with wainscoting and period furnishings." - Michelin Inspector

A wonderful little brasserie lost in the countryside. Welcoming, friendly, and the food is incredible. No need to go "a la carte" . The "menu du jour" has been something special the 3 times I've visited this place. The entrées are to die for. The main courses are well cooked, seasoned, sauces complement the food well, and the desserts all home made to a very high standard. Coffee is thrown in with the price, all at €15. It is easy to see that the chef takes pride in the menus he creates, and the standard to which he prepares and presents the food, using local ingredients. The house wines are simple (as you'd expect) but quite palatable and definitely above average. Well worth a drive along the winding mountain roads to get here. English is spoken here. I cannot recommend this place enough!

A Michelin One Star restaurant which usually serves excellent food. However, the portion size and price is as you would expect. We ate a 5 course meal on our last visit and all but the main course were delicious. The main was pigeon, which was severely over cooked, very tough and with very little meat to eat. Pigeon is always a small portion but this was ridiculous. We ordered good and expensive red wine but it felt wasted on the meat course. Disappointing and very expensive.

Excellent service, no petits fours though with coffee at lunchtime, which was disappointing in spite of having the 50 euro menu. The food quality and complex flavours, simply delivered were exvellent as ever

The food in this place never disappoints. The chef's wife is front of house and she is just delightful. She makes you feel like you belong there.
