Even in business we thought we were on Holidays. Amazing wonder... No better words to describe it. The most beautiful and friendly staff. Congrats to the Chef, brilliant flavours. 🤍

We stayed a night here on a journey through France. You won't come across it by accident, it's in a tiny hamlet up in the hills. The rooms are a little spartan, but the food and wine is fantastic and the service is just as good. Wonderful, definitely worth seeking out, a distinctive and special place.

We had a great 5 course meal prepared with local products. Great service. Good wines. Definitely a place to visit when you are in the neighbourhood. Reserve for dinner.

We stayed for two nights and wish we could have extended our stay. We came off-season and almost had the place to ourselves. The room reminded me of my travels to France in the early 80s, where the facilities were basic, no-frills but great value. Our room was large and faced the woods - it was blissfully quiet at night and the bed was really comfortable. Peter was a friendly and helpful host and the team he has with him this year are lovely. The food in the restaurant was locally-sourced, with some dishes created around produce from their garden or foraged from the woods. It was all beautifully cooked with care and attention to detail. There is a great selection of craft beers and local, organic wines. Everything was very reasonably priced considering the quality of produce. The breakfast was fantastic with a range of fruit, homemade yoghurt and preserves, local eggs, cheese and bread. The hotel itself is well off the beaten track but is ideal for walking, cycling and there are some lovely villages to explore by car. Thoroughly recommended if you looking to get away from it all with a great culinary experience.

Wonderful hotel/restaurant in a gorgeous village. Excellent food and natural wine. Brilliant service that took into account that our budget was limited. Loved the changing menu and the local produce.

Went last year and only just getting round to reviewing! Its a hidden gem - if you consider yourself a foodie then this a must visit. Daily changing delicious menu, gorgeous rooms, a fab wine list (lots of natural wines which I love) and a great team running the place. You would be mad not to go if you are passing through. Worth a special trip all on its own though. Book!!

This is really to endorse the other reviews. We spent three nights there in late September as a base for exploring the hitherto undiscovered Auvergne.....at least by us.||I would give it five stars but for the shower that a well built bloke could barely squeeze into and the general plumbing which meant that during the night you could easily hear who was flushing the loos in the other five bedrooms! Also, beds are not made if you stay more than one night but these are relatively minor issues when viewing the overall package.||||Great food with a changing and compulsory set menu that constantly surprised. A chocolate pudding that contained lambs blood produced amusing reactions amongst our fellow diners when the content was announced! As a meat lover I would never think to order cauliflower and hazelnut in a slightly cheesy sauce with a covering of sweetcorn strings....those bits you throw away when peeling one......but it was delicious. I see another reviewer has highlighted how good the bread was. It was better than that! This is how French bread used to be. Absolutely outstanding.||||This was a truly laid back experience which was something of a departure from our normal type of establishment. Peter the owner and his eclectic (but delightful) staff made us feel really at home. Where else would a neighbour be summoned when I had a flat tyre....twice?!||||I urge you to give it a try and enjoy the absolutely stunningly quiet and beautiful area.

What a lovely place! Fab staff, friendly atmosphere great food and wine. It’s in a delightful little hamlet - really peaceful and quiet (yes, the church bells are loud but they dont start ringing until 7am). Our bedroom was ‘no frills’ but had a lovely view of the square and was bright, clean and comfortable (and only 65 Euros). Oh, nearly forgot - amazingly delicious bread!
