Great food but not out of this world We had a big dinner here for 12 of us and used the private dining room. We all opted for the 8 course tasting menu (everyone on the table has to have it otherwise no one can). The dining room was very nice and the whole place is quite fancy. Turning up outside you’re in for a treat. The staff were friendly but perhaps a little too stiff for my liking.... everything was very serious which isn’t really what I think constitutes great service. The food itself was fantastically presented but I just felt it was lacking. Not many of the 8 courses really made me think ‘wow that’s epic”. It was strong money also at something like €100 per person. I just don’t think it was amazing enough for that price tag. I’d probably go again and try the normal menu but I wouldn’t recommend the tasting menu at that cost.

I visit Auberges Des Matfeux each year during le Mans 24 hours with a group of friends. We have never been let down by the food that in my opinion deserves a Michelin Star. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone I know and cannot wait to go again this year.

Almost top notch service, but one should be specific when ordering vegetarian items. Just removing fish from a plate does not qualify as a vegetarian dish, by the most common definition of vegetarian - no meat, no fish.

One of the best place in Le Mans / Arnage. For less than 40 euros, you get a very nice sampler of fine cuisine, including their unique scampi raviolis, that come with one of the best sauce I have tasted ever. Their wine list is broad and matches any budget. Fabrice is always a good adviser to pick the bottle that will match your meal.
