"Housed in a converted coaching inn built in 1786, this 100-year-old family-run restaurant sticks to the well-trodden path of cooking with a focus on seasonal ingredients. Chef Antoine Jeudi, now assisted by Julien Perrodin, certainly knows his stuff, and his flavoursome dishes go down a treat with your choice from an appealing wine selection. Thanks to the small kitchen garden, there is also a vegetable-forward set menu that includes, most notably, tomato stuffed with Touraine vegetables, fresh herb coulis and chickpea cream. Along with a charming setting, it all makes for a pleasant meal." - Michelin Inspector

Auberge du Bon Laboureur (Chenonceaux, Pays de la Loire) 5 Verified Reviews | Tablet Hotels

"Family-owned for over a hundred years, what’s now the Auberge du Bon Laboureur is more than twice as old as that; what began as a coaching inn in the year 1786 is now a beautiful little boutique hotel, combining the personable atmosphere of a private residence with the style and service of a professional lodging. The location, in Chenonceaux, a lovely Loire Valley village, is splendid — the chateau, a few minutes’ walk from your door, is a local highlight. And the auberge’s restaurant, under the direction of chef and proprietor Antoine Jeudi, is highly regarded for its classic seasonal French fare." - Tablet Hotels

Just loved this place. Very quaint and original in this pretty village. The staff, service and food were all top quality with the rooms very modern for such an old and historic place to stay. Don’t expect a 5/6 star resort but expect super attentive service, nice rooms, basic breakfast but amazing restaurant- high end with substantial wine list. We stayed in a group of 12 and so enjoyed our stay. We travel a lot and highly recommend a stay here for sure

We stayed here for a night earlier this month. Overflowing with flowers and greenery, the hotel is lovely, charming, and romantic. The staff is very cordial and helpful and gave us good information about Chenonceau. We had hoped to have dinner at the restaurant onsite, but we weren't sure what time we would arrive, so we didn't make a reservation. We'll fix that mistake on our next stay. The staff suggested a great nearby alternative. Breakfast in the morning was tasty, and we enjoyed it. Our room was beyond comfortable, with a luxe bathroom and bedding. We truly enjoyed our stay, and we will be back.

Absolutely gorgeous place – elegant, historic, and full of charm. Service was excellent, and we took the best room, which was spacious, comfortable, and very romantic. The restaurant was outstanding, and the price felt fair for the quality and level of service we received.

This hotel offers a splendid combination of old-world French charm and modern services, as well as having the most friendly and amenable staff. We had a fabulous room and the food on the gastronomic menu, which we decided to splash out on for my wife’s birthday, was outstanding. We had a lovely time here and will certainly come again!

The most charming place, I just adored all the little quirks, natural elements, setting…staff were a bit shy but very kind. A real jewel in the crown of my recent trip to France that will hold special memories for me now! I’ll note that I had not expected the dining room to be too full to take us for dinner (a Thursday in September), so that was a bummer, but the room service we took outside was really delicious.

An absolutely superb hotel, we have stayed here twice previously and the standards which were already very high have, believe it or not improved. The welcome was just so friendly and efficient. Our G. Floor room very cosy and clean. I have some mobility issues so access was simple. The room was simply furnished but very clean and functional. The food, from the enormous (if you want it!) breakfast was excellent, but the evening meals were a delight, my wife and I are almost we exclusively fish eaters were in heaven, but the meat servings looked fabulous. The extensive wine list presented a wonderful opportunity for us to push the boat out. All in all we enjoyed the hotel for our wedding anniversary and celebrated appropriately.

Google
The most perfect place to stay. Rooms are beautiful, Food spectacular and more importantly you felt as if you were one of the family. I’ve never stayed at a hotel where it felt so emotional to leave. Also, massively dog friendly. Woofles sends love to Violette

Excellent service, comfortable rooms, property and gardens lovely, easy parking and walkable to restaurants... would absolutely return. After staying at two other 5* hotels in our road trip that severely disappointed us and left us wondering how they could be called 5-star, this hotel not only met but exceeded expectations and it was so very welcome. From the minute we arrived, we felt a high level of service and friendliness from the staff- tour and explanations of our room were appreciated. The bath soap smelled lovely, the Richards coffee is my favorite and the attention given to the pretty gardens we walked through daily was a bath in peacefulness. We all slept very comfortably and enjoyed the breakfast spread- plenty of options for gluten free people.
