I had a very pleasant dinner at this place. I had Tom yum soup and beef pad thai. Both of my dishes were tasty. My friend ordered a huge bowl of Kai soi soup. She loved it, for me it was a little too sweet and too much of a coconut flavor. I really liked the atmosphere and vibe of the restaurant. It was cozy, clean, and more of modern style. I would definitely come back to try their other dishes.

Aubergine - Thai Cuisine offers delicious, authentic flavors with fresh ingredients and friendly service. The Pad Kra Pao is a must-try, packed with bold spices, fragrant basil, and a perfect fried egg. For dessert, the Mango Sticky Rice is a delightful treat with sweet mangoes and creamy coconut milk. Whether you're craving spicy stir-fries or comforting Thai classics, this place won’t disappoint. Warm hospitality and great food make it a top choice. Highly recommended!

When I say this place is the bomb… I used to live in Thailand and that Kai Soi!?!?!!! SOOO flavorful and authentic. I wish I could’ve ordered it a thousand times. I’ll just go back every week for the rest of my life 🤷🏾‍♀️ Quick waiters, quick service, food came quick and HOT, beautiful decor, plus the staff that didn’t serve me were super sweet! Like EJ! Dress nicely, this is upscale Thai 😏😉 Thank you for such a glorious experience.

Google
Came highly recommended and did not disappoint! Great atmosphere and friendly staff. Highlights were the drinks (we got Thai tea, Thai coffee, and cha manao), the larb, charred aubergine, and green curry. Everything was excellent, will definitely come back the next time we are in St Louis!

Google
This place is super clean, and the staff is VERY friendly and attentive. I got the crab rangoons based on the recommendations of others, and oh my! They are probably the best tasting rangoons I have ever had. I also ordered the Yellow Curry despite the fact that my go-to is Pad Thai. The yellow curry is BOMB. Perfect blends of flavors and easy to mix everything together. I'm so glad I tried this place. Thank you, Aubergine, for a wonderful experience. Excellent Thai food. Would highly recommend it to anyone.

Google
Solid Thai food. Papaya salad was good, Kao Sai was exceptional! Friendly service and quick. Ordered everything spicy and it had really good heat but wasn’t overpowering.

Nice small restaurant with great food. My husband and I ate here during the week and the place was really busy. The servers were running around making sure all of the tables were taken care of. The food took a little while to come out but it was worth the wait. I ordered the drunken noodles with beef and a mild spice level. The drunken noodles were absolutely delicious. Hands down the best Thai noodles I have ever had. My husband ordered the Sweet Chili Basil Bomb with Stew beef and it was also delicious. The serving sizes were adequate. The Calamari appetizer were cooked very well and the pairing sauce was tasty. There is no street parking but there is a parking garage nearby. We walked less then 5 minutes from the garage to the restaurant. We would eat here again.

Google
Tasty food, very friendly, welcoming service, totally recommend, you wouldn’t go wrong with any dish and their prices are reasonable. In St. Louis for a couple of days, would love to come back. I went with their popular yellow curry. Food is so healthy and fresh.

Yelp
Got takeout here for lunch. Ordered the Khao Soi with tofu and Pad Thai with chicken. We also sat at the bar and ordered Thai coffee and Thai tea. The beverages were delicious! The tea was strong, sweet, and creamy. The coffee came with creamer and was very strong, my boyfriend loved it! Order the Khao Soi!! My first time trying this dish based off the reviews recommending it. Delicious and slightly spicy coconut curry soup with egg noodles -- I could drink the broth alone (10/10). The pad Thai was good but nothing special. It was a little dry and could use more flavor. Overall, great food, amazing drinks, and nice staff!

Yelp
I know you probably wanted to see the dishes as served, but instead we fully finished 5 dishes. The best Thai food I've had in the US. We had the fried rice, drunken noodles, yellow curry, hot basil chicken bomb, and chicken and veg. They were PHENOMENAL. I have two kids and they devoured the fried rice. This is one of the best restaurants I've been to in a while. Congratulations to the owners, chef, and staff for a wonderful experience.

Yelp
Khao soi on the menu, so it was my first dinner stop while in town for business. The service was friendly and attentive, granted there were only two other tables occupied while I dined. The khao soi was delicious, I couldn't stop eating until I got to the bottom of the very large bowl. Only thing I could suggest, fresher/crispier fried noodles on top. These were a bit difficult to get separated and had a chewier consistency.

Yelp
I hit the "surprise me" wheel on Yelp and here I am! This cafe is so bright with a modern, crisp look. There's no more than about 10 tables and a bar area. The staff was very kind and attentive. My food was out in about 10 minutes and everything was yummy! The veggie pad thai was classic. The dumplings were more like a steamed meatball in wonton wrappers. I expected less filling but I'm not mad at it. The thai tea was also classic with perfect taste! I came at 1pm during their lunch time. Perfect time to come!

Yelp
Fantastic Thai cuisine in the heart of DT St Louis!! After a long day of touring around Gateway Arch, we walked here ravenous and had a feast! We ordered Chargrilled Aubergine as appetizer, Green Curry and Kra Pow as the main course, and Mango Sticky Rice as dessert. I also got a Thai Ice Tea. All excellent, especially the eggplant!! The ambience was casual, the service was great, and the price was actually quite reasonable! Highly recommended!!

Yelp
I came into this place hopeful due to our local favorite spot being closed for the 4th of July week. The restaurant was very busy when we arrived, and the space is not large. They offer beer and soda, but it all comes in a bottle or can which is a disappointment. It took some time to get service, and our waitress was mediocre at best. Parents, this place does not offer a kids menu:/ I am not a fast drinker, and I managed to run empty while waiting on the food. The straws for the water were also not in paper, which was sort of a turn off considering the waitress put them in our glasses. The restaurant informed us that they were out of dumplings. We ordered entrees and spring rolls for an appetizer The appetizers arrived with no small plates for sharing. The waitress did not come to check on us after the delivery, so we did not get any small plates. The taste of the spring rolls was great. They were filled with cabbage & carrots, no meat. After apps arrived, we were informed that the restaurant ran out of white rice. We were told by someone in the kitchen that they needed to cook more or would "substitute brown rice for no additional charge"...I sure hope not especially considering A. You are a Thai restaurant, how do you run out of white rice, B. By this time we have waited 45 minutes for our entrees and the waitress still has not checked in for refills. The food arrived (we ordered chicken fried rice and drunken noodles with beef and added extra veggies). We ordered the food spicy, and I expecting a little bit of heat. Spice level was not at the level that I anticipated. Portion size is not where you would be able to take any leftovers to go. The flavor of the beef in the noodles was excellent, so I would say the noodle dish we ordered was far superior to the rice. Overall, the taste of the food was very good, and I would give them a second shot. Service kind of ruined the experience for me.

Yelp
I was not expecting to find a place like this in St Louis. We were trying to get calzones but the restaurant had a water leak and we had to find somewhere else to go. Happiest accident ever. The staff were super, very friendly and attentive. The decoration and music was relaxing, it put me at ease and was just a great place to eat. And the food was stellar. Kao Soi is a little like Kaopoon, and just as delicious. I went for medium spice, which was perfect for me. The broth was so flavorful and filling too. This is as comfortable as any comfort food you've ever had. Great spot if you want something good. I'll say the price was not bad either, $20 for my meal.

Yelp
We discovered Aubergine Cafe recently and it went to the top of our list because the reviews were so good. It's located in the heart of downtown, basically on the corner of Washington Ave. and 7th St...we went on a Friday night and it was less busy than expected. The mushroom curry puffs were fantastic. The cucumber and onions they came with were sweet and tasted great with the puffs. The Kao Soi was so good and it's a huge portion. I'd order it again. It is slightly spicy but the flavor is incredible. The tofu was nice and spongey (I love the texture). My date loves shrimp and isn't really a fan of breaded shrimp or coconut but decided to try them based on other reviews and he said they were good. He also really enjoyed the Sweet Basil Chili Bomb with the stew beef. The service was fine. The ambiance is relaxing, we enjoyed the music. It's a bright, well lit place. I'll definitely return to get more tofu Kao Soi. Can't recommend this place enough especially if you want to support downtown businesses.

Yelp
Friendly service, excellent Thai food. Smaller dining area with a good sized bar area. Definitely a delicious try if you're visiting or a local!

Yelp
Fantastic flavor, authentic food, delicious fresh drinks, and friendly service. It's a cute place with a casual but slightly upscale feeling and it's quite lovely. Highly recommend! Oh and they were able to make curries without fish sauce for us vegetarians.

Yelp
Really good food. The person serving us was very nice and polite! First time visiting Missouri but the place did not disappoint!

Yelp
This might be my new favorite Thai food spot in STL. It's a hole in the wall due to the construction downtown but it's totally nice inside but it has limited seating. Parking might be tough but it's totally worth it. The food was delicious, we'll seasoned and mouth watering. Portions are not too large but they give you a sizable amount. The service was great and they make sure to carter to the clients. This spot was truly a hidden gem and I'm glad I got to experience it!!

Yelp
The food: we got the chargrilled eggplant, it was very mint and cilantro forward. I loved it. We got the mushroom curry puff, I thought it was tasty, not sure if I would get it again. I got the Kao Soi. I liked it but not my fav in St. Louis (like Me You). I think I would have liked it more if it was spicier and tangier. The ambiance: very cute and cozy. The service: fast and attentive; but did take some time to get the check.

Yelp
First day in St. Louis, first meal. It's going to be hard to keep up this pace. This small quaint restaurant is serving up some of the best Thai food I've had in a very long time. Fresh and hot, the yellow curry was vibrant in color and taste and was a large enough portion for two. We'll be back to try more on the menu before leaving town.

Yelp
Food was great. Service took a bit long but that was due to the conference going on. Love the ambiance and decor of the restaurant. I loved their fried rice and chargrilled aubergine.
google avatar

Alina S.

Yelp
Still one of my absolute favorite places in downtown STL. The employees are so angelic and kind. The food is hot in temperature and tasty and the restaurant is so clean. I love the drawing of Dwayne the Rock on the wall too. This will forever be a classic favorite for me!

Yelp
During a work trip, we found this cozy lunch spot. Of course, it was packed- and for good reason! However, we were able to write down our names to claim a table. After a 15 minute wait, we were seated. Our waitress was polite and guided us through the menu. I enjoyed the ginger tea and my crispy shrimp rolls were delicious! It was filled with shrimp and the sweet sauce complimented the savory flavor of the roll. I ordered shrimp drunken noodles for my main; I thought the portion was quite generous. My drunken noodles were just the right amount of spicy and the veggies were cooked perfectly. My coworkers' meals ranged from the yellow curry, Kao Soi and cashew delight; there were no complaints!

Mike R.

Yelp
Had this delivered via Door Dash today. Had the Cashew Delight with Chicken and added Shrimp. Super tasty but rice didn't make it to me. Also, the packaging wasn't good for something with so much sauce. Will try again and double check the order when dropped off or picked up.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing service. Small space but perfect for small groups or couples. The food is my favorite Thai so far in St. Louis. Get the dessert. You won't be disappointed. So so wonderful and delicious. The curry was spot on.
google avatar

Jo H.

Yelp
Was in town for business and had takeout from here twice! Kao Saoi, spring rolls and dumplings - all delicious!!

Judy L.

Yelp
The best Thai food around. I often order the yellow curry or pad thai with the spring rolls. Such a beautiful, airy restaurant as well. Fun Fact: One of the chefs is a Texas Tech grad for any Red Raiders in the Lou

Yelp
The Tom Yum Soup! Repeat after me... Tom Yum Soup! Add the shrimp though! This is a great lunch spot in the heart of downtown St. Louis! #stlouispescatarianapproved @stlouispescatarians And the wings are @aces_eats314 famous! We don't eat meet with feet so I wouldn't know.

David D.

Yelp
Food was quite tasty. Try the chargrilled aubergine. Delivered a nice level of spiciness when asked.

Yelp
Overall: 4.2 * Recommend this place if you like Thai American fusion * Do not recommend this place if you are a looking for authentic taste Food & Drink : *** * Fried shrimp egg roll - I would recommend ordering this appetizer. The egg roll is full of shrimp and tastes delicious. * Yellow curry - Beef is not tender, it has a typical taste, but it doesn't stand out from other Thai restaurants. * Tom yum soup - Watery taste, not spicy enough. Price: *** * I love eating Thai food. The price is high, and the taste is ordinary. I think their food is not worth the price you pay. Customer Service: ***** * Water test refill passed * Customer service is exceptional Atmosphere: ***** * It's a Thai restaurant. They have great design feels good Cleanliness: ***** * Very clean Note: I'm not a professional food critic. The opinions and thoughts expressed in this review reflect only my view. This review receives no payment or other compensation from the place reviewed. Each Category rate Is 0 - 5 Stars. I round up the overall

Yelp
Simply outstanding Thai food. Very clean and simply decorated in the heart of downtown. All the food is spectacular. Music is soothing and mellow. Have a memorable experience here soon.
google avatar

Olga B.

Yelp
The coconut shrimp -six pieces was made to perfection! Very good curry as well, I would have liked a little more flavor in the chicken. Great atmosphere and service!
google avatar

Yelp
The food is very good here, yet this year is friendly and enticing. Live potted plants Grace the tables and woven basket art Grace is the walls. If the weather is nice the patio chairs are delightful and you get to watch all the hubbub on Washington Avenue. The proprietor, I don't know her name, is the most pleasant lady in the world. Just sweet, do you want her to be your aunt. Plus they just open back up for dinner, yay! But now while you're really here, the food, spectacular. I'm working my way through the menu now currently I've had the cashew chicken bomb the curry puffs and today I am having the yellow curry with tofu. And honestly tell you I have never been disappointed I think you'll really like this place.!

Kaitlyn Y.

Yelp
The food was AMAZING! I could eat the Kao Soi every day for the rest of my life! Highly recommend and I can NOT wait to go back!

Janae A.

Yelp
The food at Aubergine cafe is delicious. The service is delightful. The ambiance is captivating.

Rudy A.

Yelp
Excellent food! It should be a standard but not everyone excels in seasoning as well as Aubergine! Great portions for lunch specials. Very full but didn't need a two hour nap. Get in for the mango sticky rice season! This is the best dessert downtown! Fantastic place to eat!
google avatar

Darrell B.

Yelp
Wow! 5 stars....I'd do 6 if it was available. What an incredible meal! Stop here and eat. We had 30 and got all kinds of food and everything was so fresh and good! - - Update: after finishing the meal and talking with staff, these are wonderful folks! So kind! Go try it! - - We got the dumplings. Best Ive had so far. The Pad Thai was excellent! The fried rice was sweet and so good! The coconut shrimp was delicious! The Thai Chili Wings were so good we wound up getting two more orders.
google avatar

Kennedy B.

Yelp
Food is absolutely amazing !! I had the Chicken Kao Soi and the steamed dumplings and they were both good. I didn't really care for the noodles in the soup but that's probably just a personal opinion,, next time I'm going to see if I can substitute the noodles for rice. Either way it's amazing (:
google avatar

Haley H.

Yelp
This was a nice Thai restaurant across the street from my hotel. Highly recommend. Very friendly staff and everything was so clean and fresh. I ordered the Pad Kee Mao with Chicken. Plenty spicy at medium. Delicious.
google avatar

Erika K.

Yelp
I tried the chicken satay, the thai milk tea, and the Kao Soi soup. I really loved all three! The soup had a really wonderful aromatic flavor from the coconut milk and lemon grass, it was really warming and delicious. The thai milk tea is what you'd expect, I was a fan! And the star for me really was the chicken satay. I only wish there was more of it in the order!! So tasty.

Yelp
Good value, good taste - a friendly neighborhood restaurant. We went there at about 6:30pm in a Sunday and the place was sparse but had quite a bit of traffic for pickup food. We ordered soup, ground chicken with basil and some vegetarian appetizers and they were all pretty good. The servers were attentive and the overall experience was enjoyable. If I'm every back in this area, I'll visit them again

Jeff R.

Yelp
We visited St. Louis for a conference and found this Thai restaurant near the convention center. Sure glad we did! The food was fresh, attractive, and well-prepared. We had the dumplings for a starter and then my wife had Pad Thai and I had the Thai Sweet Basil Chili Bomb. Amazing all around. Plus the young lady who served us was as polite and attentive as can be. I've bookmarked this place for the next time we're in St. Louis.

Baharak A.

Yelp
The best Thai food I have had! I was visiting St Luis for a conference and came back twice! That's how good the service and food was.
google avatar

Alexsandra N.

Yelp
Delicious food! Right next to convention center if you happen to be going there. The food had such an amazing flavor and nice presentation. The establishment is small, but cute inside. The service was amazing even with the amount of people ordering from there. I would highly recommend trying this place if you're in the area. You will not be disappointed. Everyone I was with devoured their plates.

David K.

Yelp
Another 5-star review! I'm in town for a convention and needed a good meal on a Sunday evening. This place is right around the corner from my hotel, and was nearly empty when I came in at 8pm. I have no idea why. I've eaten at hundreds of Thai restaurants, and this one is definitely in my top five, and is a strong contender for number one! Incredibly flavorful, but with everything balanced so there's no overpowering flavor fighting for all the attention. Friendly staff, good service. What's not to love? A "must visit" if in the St. Louis area if you like Thai food!

Scott E.

Yelp
Great service and food. Very nice people serving simple , awesome food For a very reasonable price.
google avatar

Christopher S.

Yelp
I could copy and paste Alina S.'s review. It was an amazing meal. The complexity and creaminess of the Kao Soi broth was superb. The spring rolls were hot, tasty, and the dipping sauce really added to the flavor. Just visiting STL, but next time I'm in town, I'll be coming back!
google avatar

Sia Z.

Yelp
Came for lunch during a brief stop in the city. The food was fresh, beautifully presented, and had some unique garnishing and flavors I hadn't seen elsewhere (e.g. spinach in the curry). I had a Thai coffee, eggplant appetizer, and tofu red curry. All of it was excellent. The ambiance is modern, chic, and spacious with a large window in front. The service was attentive and friendly. Reasonable prices. I'd come back if I'm in town again.
google avatar

William F. I.

Yelp
Food was excellent, full of flavor, prepared perfectly, but took forever. There was one server, maybe two and the place was packed. Not sure if anyone got the memo there would be a convention in town all week. Ambiance is clean and welcoming. Definitely recommend the food, but be patient with the slow service and ready to wait.

Katy F.

Yelp
This is at the top of my list for lunch downtown. Because there is not a lot of foot traffic right outside, this seems like somewhat of a hidden gem. The food is delicious, and the ingredients are on the lighter side. Highly recommend the sweet basil chili bomb, red curry and char grilled aubergine. The staff is also very friendly, and the service is quick.
google avatar

Madeline V.

Yelp
My experience here was amazing and I still daydream about the meal I had here. It was not very busy on a weeknight and the service was excellent. The food came very quickly. We ordered the curry mushroom puff and Tom yum soup as starters. These both hit the spot. I ordered the delicious Kao Soi with tofu and the broth warmed my soul. I highly recommend this place and will be back!
google avatar

Nupur C.

Yelp
The food here was so wonderful and the portion sizes were perfect for the price. The Kao Soi was the best noodle soup dish I have ever tasted and the Cha Manao was perfect. Service was reasonably paced for going during the lunch rush and the ambiance was light and stylish. I will absolutely be coming back here again.
google avatar

Karel V.

Yelp
While serving the standard Thai fare (green curry, drunken noodles, etc.), this place's execution was flawless. The ingredients were fresh, the veggies were not overcooked and the shrimp in my dish were cooked perfectly. You can tell the dishes were made fresh to order. Delicious.
google avatar

Steve P.

Yelp
Location is a little hard to see if you're not paying attention, but trust me it's worth finding! Food was very flavorful, waitress spoke broken english but was extremely polite and patient!! Atmosphere was very pleasant and relaxing music. I would definitely return 5 stars
google avatar

Olivia S.

Yelp
Yummy food!! Both of these dishes were delicious! The menu is small, but has great options and was very good! The restaurant it's self is decorated beautifully & is small. I love that they take reservations on OpenTable!
google avatar

Rob W.

Yelp
My wife and I rolled in hungry like the wolf 45 mins before they closed and they were very accommodating! Mer was our server and she was a delight. The flavors in this place are on point! The music and vibes are very mellow and relaxing. We had the opportunity to meet the owner, Poy. She came to our table and thanked us for visiting and was so very pleasant & humble. We got a few Thai iced coffees to go to avoid that food coma. You've gotta try this little hidden gem tucked behind Hi-Pointe on Washington Ave downtown. We'll be back for sure!
