Auden Review - Montrose - Houston - The Infatuation

"Auden is a Montrose restaurant from the team behind that describes itself as “contemporary American.” While the space is certainly beautiful—an oasis of lush greens, soft browns, and warm mood lights—the food is pretty lackluster. Dishes like seared octopus, scallops with roasted corn, and an uneventful harissa chicken all blend together in a lightly seasoned parade. But some things keep it more interesting, like milk buns served with an edible beef tallow candle. On a weeknight when you’re in the mood for a cocktail and an unexciting dinner with R&B bops playing in the background, Auden is a perfectly fine choice." - Gianni Greene

Amazing food and service. Everything we had from the appetizers to the entrees was delicious. The drinks were creative and well balanced. The food was perfectly balanced for Indian and other cultures. Perfect high caliber fusion food. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service was amazing as well. I have and will continue to recommend this amazing restaurant to everyone i can. Thank you for the great food and service!

Finally getting to writing my review for this lovely spot we came across! Had the chance to try it a few of times during my visit to Houston! The servers were really nice, they were also very quick and attentive. We also had a great interaction with James (who bartends), Gaby and were also lucky to interact with the chefs Kripa & Kirthan while they were making their rounds in front. The restaurant has a very cozy vibe, and even though it was busy it wasn't very noisy and we could have a nice conversation with the patrons at our respective tables. Across multiple visits we tried almost everything on the menu. They did have a banger happy hour that we also took advantage of. I think we loved almost everything we tried, right from the chicken 65 (huge portions) to the very poppable fried oysters, to the Agnolotti (best ever pasta dish I've eaten, the tikka sauce hitting the spot and the cheese filling and the crunch of the red onions and fried boondi on top) I'm craving it so bad while writing this review hahah! The scallops served on the corn puree were also amazing along with the straciatella with the toasted sour dough bread. The cocktails were also really good, while I loved the fingers crossed and forget me not my hubs loved his garam masala old fashion and the Horizon line. The cocktails were also really good, while I loved the fingers crossed and forget me not my hubs loved his garam masala old fashion and the Horizon line. The desserts are to die for, while the berry Bomboloni with the cereal milk gelato and tres leches were both scrumptious, the le chocolat definitely took the crown. Can't wait to visit Auden again whenever I visit H-town. Looking forward to trying their brunch as well as the newer items as I see the keep updating the menu seasonally (as seen on their insta stories/ posts)

Auden is a great tapas-style restaurant to satisfy your hunger. The variety of dishes they offer ensure everyone will find something they like. Perfect for small groups or individual meals. The Octopus was divinely succulent and well prepared. The brussel sprouts and milk bread were perfect. The fried mushrooms were fairly heavy and a bit oily. Their service was very friendly and helpful with questions. I would recommend ordering slow since the kitchen or staff don’t course out your order for you, so be sure to do that yourself. Their cocktails were also delicious, and want to try more. A small quaint space for a good meal, I will definitely be back to see their menu transform with time.

We visited Auden for brunch and dinner on three different occasions. Their food is phenomenally flavorful, featuring Indian and American flavors. We met Executive Chef Kirthan, who is very talented and kind. Thank you, Chef. Although we haven't had the opportunity to meet his wife, Pastry Chef Kripa but we can attest to the deliciousness of her breads and desserts. See you soon with our different groups of friends.

This place is great. Nice vibe but wish it didn’t echo as much inside the space. The food is pretty good. We got a variety of small dishes that are listed below with stars to indicate what we’d get again. Service is fantastic - Straciatella* - Hokkaido Herb Buns - Tempura Mushrooms - Fried Oysters* - Chicken 65* - Gnocchi - Tres Leches* - Chai Cheesecake* Enjoyed our brunch here as well. Got a variety of stuff with asterisks to indicate what we liked. - Americano coffee - Biscuits & Jam - Shakshouka* - Auden Hash - Chicken 65 & Waffles* - Funnel Cake

Google
We visited Auden for their very first brunch service, in which all items were 50% off for invited guests. Their service needs a lot of improvement. I understand this is the first brunch ever, but not the first time being opened as a restaurant, as their dinner service has been opened for awhile now. First off, the space is small, making it hard for patrons and wait staff to move around. Second, even with the generous employee to customer ratio, wait times were long to put in an order. In terms of service, one waiter dribbled my chai all over, then another waitress brought out someone else’s meal and placed it on our table. After telling her we didn’t order that she quickly picked it up, brought it to the back, then we immediately saw a different waiter with that same meal bring it to the correct table. All of this happened before we could even eat our underwhelming meal. Another thing to note entrees are brought out at vastly different times. Meaning people in your party may have finished their meal by the time your entree arrives. The decor also looks like a Hyatt breakfast lounge. The last disappointing thing to happen was the 40% tip their machine auto populates. Even with the special invite and “generous” discount, I would not come back. Restaurants are a dime a dozen in Houston. If you can’t stand out with either service or food, your restaurant will not last. Hopefully they can improve in the future. I will admit their menu options are creative, but not executed well.

The staff is incredible. Best dinning experience I have had in a while. Garam Old Fashion is the best Old Fashioned I have had. The oysters are great as well! Highly recommend

Auden is a very cute restaurant with the right aesthetic. Food was decent but not wow..the scallion pancakes were tasty and so were the empanadas. The lamb meal was a bit disappointing. However, service was excellent and it may be worth a second try.

Yelp
Beautiful restaurant with delicious food. We had the scallion hotcakes and octopus for appetizers, then the orecchiette, lamb kabob, and grilled mushrooms for dinner. There was nothing I wouldn't recommend. Must-try's, I'd say, are scallion hotcakes and orecchiette. Our table shared a tres leches for dessert, which was bomb as well. I only knocked off one star because the service was a little slow. Our waiter was great but our entrees did take quite a while to come out.

Yelp
I would rate this restaurant 4.5/5 stars, but I'm rounding up because we had just a great server and that just made the whole experience even better! Everything I ate was cooked to perfection, especially the octopus! That's a must-try if you like octopus because it was so tender and juicy without being mushy. The beef short ribs are also a must-try--the short ribs were incredibly tender and flavorful. The scallop ceviche also gets a shoutout from me because the flavors were unexpectedly bright, and brought out the natural sweetness of the scallops. I also want to mention that there is Indian influence with the flavor profile of many of their dishes. The only thing I didn't particularly care for was the tres leches cake because the cake itself wasn't already soaked up with the milk mixture and was a bit dry and rough. The flavors were perfect but the texture was the opposite of what I'd typically expect from a tres leches cake.

Yelp
Upon entering Auden, I was immediately struck by its ideal location, bathed in natural light that created a warm and inviting atmosphere. The restaurant's tasteful décor, complete with real plants, gave the space a serene and vibrant ambiance, making it the perfect setting for a memorable evening. You definitely want to dress up and look cute for this place. The culinary journey began with the scallop ceviche appetizer and plantain chips. The delicate scallops offered a delightful combination of flavors and a melt-in-your-mouth texture that left me craving for more. The plantain chips were also a hit and, surprisingly, the salsa, prepared with bell pepper, had a subtle hint of tamarind, adding an unexpected twist that elevated the overall experience. The cocktail selection at Auden was nothing short of impressive. Each concoction was expertly crafted, boasting a delightful blend of flavors that were both refreshing and easy to drink. However, it's worth noting that what we paid for cocktails was slightly higher than what we paid for entrees, so it's worth considering your preferences and budget accordingly. As the evening progressed, I found myself indulging in the decadent desserts, and I can confidently say they were the highlight of the meal. The chocolate was rich and artfully presented. The portion size was generous, making them perfect for sharing among friends or loved ones. To complete this gastronomic journey, I highly recommend pairing your dessert with a perfectly brewed espresso or a velvety latte, which adds a delightful finishing touch to the experience. It's worth mentioning that the overall cost of the meal is approximately $250. While it may seem like a splurge, the inviting atmosphere, and feeling tip top is an investment for a special occasion or a memorable night out. If you want nature and city, Auden's prime location, tasteful emerald furniture, and warm ambiance creates an enchanting dining experience. From the delectable scallop appetizer to the homemade red sauce with its unique flavors, every dish showcased the chef's expertise and creativity. The cocktails, though pricey, were crafted well.

Yelp
Auden is a lovely venue. When u arrive here, you know you're somewhere fancy. It puts you in the mood to DINE... Service is stellar, from Tony of the house , to wait staff. But even though beautiful, nothing compensates for average food. And I'm saying average to keep from using the words, boring or bland.. Me and my foodie crew had a variety of things and none were over the top in taste. We were all wanting to LOVE our food , considering how it looked, but it was just -"meh"... So the three stars are for aesthetics, service, and above average specialty Martini!

Yelp
Ate here tonight and the food and service are top notch! Our table of 4 had the Stracciatella, Dumplings (gnocci), Branzino, Short Ribs, Scallops and Bombolino. Holy Moly!! Hard to rank what we loved best. It was all soooo good!! This is our 2nd time here and our friends LOVED it as well. Someone kiss the cook! Susan was our personable, knowledgeable and lovely server. We so enjoyed our time with her and at Auden. It's a homerun.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my birthday with my sister and the food was really good. Overall a great experience between the food and the service. Ambiance is also very nice! We started off with an order of the Hokkaido milk rolls, the kale Caesar salad, the octopus, the cauliflower, and scallops. All the starters were fantastic!!!! The milk rolls were so soft and fluffy. The kale Caesar salad was better than I had expected. The octopus was tender and the sauce it was served with complimented the octopus very well. It was a bit spicy but so delicious. The scallops were cooked perfectly and I love the corn purée it was served with. Cauliflower was roasted perfectly! I wish the pieces were cut a little bit more, but overall very good. For our entrees, we got the whole fish/branzino which was very good but just be aware of bones. It was super flaky and the green sauce it was served with was delicious. We also got the burger and it was a very well made burger. Also highly recommend that. Overall great experience!! There's no need to valet here. Do the self parking option, walk over and Auden will validate your parking for up to 2 hours!

Yelp
Been here on 2 occasions - once for dinner and once for drinks. Their brambleberry fizz is truly remarkable. It takes about 10 mins of shaking, so the foam is delightful. It's their take on a Ramos gin fizz. I also liked the not your nana's martini. It was quite dirty, so it's the perfect way to get salt into your system after a workout. I also enjoyed the golden hour. In terms of food, their octopus is excellent - tender and flavorful. Their scallops are prepared skillfully, and the seafood was quite fresh on the weeknight evening that I had visited. The stracciatella dish was a highlight for me - the cheese was super smooth and went perfectly with the warm bread. Service was friendly but not overbearing. I also appreciate the 2 different amouse bouches they provided. For parking, there is valet or paid street parking.

Yelp
Was pleasantly surprised how good the food was here. Every dish we got was super flavorful. Cocktails were also great. I wouldn't get the brambleberry fizz drunk again though. We loved the stracciatella and octopus for starters. Unfortunately they were out of the duck when we went so we got a shrimp this instead. Shrimp was super flavorful. Highly recommend checking this place out if you're a foodie.

Yelp
Had an amazing experience at this restaurant. When you walk in you will notice immediately that the space is not huge the restaurant has a more intimate setting which I loved! The service from the hostess to our waiter was incredible, our server knew the entire menu in and out with very detailed explanations of each dish that I asked about. And last but far from least THE FOOD was phenomenal! Every dish they brought out had a completely diff flavor but EVERY dish was so well balanced nothing over powered one another. The food and its portions were so good we never got past the starters! other then to the desserts which I can't wait to eat again. I can't wait to go back and try the rest of the menu. This restaurant , its staff and chef have brought together a very warm and comforting experience for fine dining.

Yelp
We got a chance to try out the Auden experience during their soft opening. Provided with a small menu covering the courses and a choice of drink per each pairing, we got more than enough drinks to say that this place has some pretty *damn* good ones. Starting off, we were given a small 2-scoop trial of their asparagus that was condensed into a small "soup." The name alludes me as it is not mentioned on the menu & not pictured here; however, it was surprisingly one of the highlights of the experience.. 8.2/10. We were given melon-flavored cocktails to pair. First course: Maitake Pot Pie. Aged goat cheese, some mushrooms, and a side of collard greens made for a nice way to start 7/10, but honestly - it was the cocktail pairings that caught our attention. The 'White Noise' specifically was hard to get away from - super sip-able & light, yet also flavorful & intoxicating (in a good way!) 8.4/10. Second course: Auden Feormere: a taste of three. Beet Gnocchi: 8.6/10 - fantastic. Particularly the sauce! Heart of Palm Cakes: 9/10 - surprisingly filling. Tastes like it's composed of crab, but it's not! Beef Tenderloin: 8/10 - great! The others just got higher reviews based on their unique quality and stand-out flavor. The tenderloin was fantastic in its own realm! Third course: Dessert - Le Choclat: 8/10 Great if you like chocolate with a smooth, flan-like texture. Absolutely delectable. It has a cookie-type base that makes for a deliciously edible platform. Enjoy!

Yelp
A small yet cute restaurant. Reservations are necessary. Their menu often changes and has unique items like a delicious pasta dish with a tikka masala-inspired sauce and staples like ribeye steak with mashed potatoes. We tried all the breads at our table and my favorite by far was the scallion hotcakes. The caviar and Crudo was a unique appetizer. The taste of the tater tot did somewhat overpower the delicate flavors of the fish (but still was good). The branzino was an excellent dish and beautiful. It comes as a whole fish though they were happy to debone it for me. The herby green sauce this came with was wonderful.
google avatar

Nickie R.

Yelp
Auden was heavenly for me! The food was A1. I got the caviar with tots and the fish and when I tell you this was a flawless combo with the sauce; you can't change perfection! The savory hotcakes were my FAVORITE, as they were fluffy flavorful and with a distinctive combo of flavors that just worked. The scallops were prepared very very well and were extremely flavorful. I will be back!

Yelp
Primary waiter was amazing, conversational, attentive throughout the meal. Support waiters were not always on point with orders and at times would deliver something without a serving utensil. Food and atmosphere / vibe was excellent. Cocktails, like many restaurants these days, are very over priced.
google avatar

Elaine D.

Yelp
The food was really incredible. Enjoyed their octopus, and brussel sprouts and their hot buns the most. It is definitely hard to talk and hear as it can get really loud. Our waiter was super helpful with deciding what to order. My least favorite would be the hot cakes.

Yelp
Meh is the only word that comes to mind after dining at Auden. The service and food leaves a lot to be desired. I came here on a Friday night with 2 other couples and while the restaurant was full, it wasn't crazy packed. The service and how long it took to get our cocktails was a huge red flag right off the bat. One of my biggest pet peeves when dining is getting appetizers served before anyone gets a single drink at the table. We actually ended up ordering two drinks at once because the bar took so long. While the Whiskey Sour I ordered was delicious, half of the other drinks weren't cold at all. The food was a huge disappointment. The bread and french fries were the best thing we ordered with everything else being just okay (the octopus & hamburger) or just gross (the Gnocchi which was total mush). It really comes down to being overpriced and not being able to back it up with the level of the food or service. PASS.....
google avatar

Maddie F.

Yelp
Auden was a vibe, the restaurant itself is beautiful and the music was great. The food was good, unfortunately they were out of the gnocchi for the night which was what I originally wanted to order. I went with the chicken 65 instead and it was flavorful and a decent sized portion but it was considered an appetizer. Our server was quick, friendly and had some good recommendations. Our personal favorites were the herb bread buns with the honey butter as well as the le choclat dessert, both were so delicious. I would say there is not a whole lot of seating inside the restaurant so definitely make reservations. There is bar top seating as well as indoor of course and some tables outside. Overall we enjoyed Auden and definitely want to come back to try some other food items!

Sara R.

Yelp
Susan was absolutely incredible and knows the menu so well, we enjoyed everything she recommended to us. Auden is one of my favorites in the neighborhood- love bringing guest here!

Yelp
I see success in Audens future. Opened just over a month now (I overheard a waiter tell his table across from us) and situated in the trendy new Autry Park area, Auden sits next to a luxury apartment complex. That said, parking is tricky. We had to spin the block a couple times and feed the meter for our 730 reservation. We were greeted by the hosts and sat quickly. We attempted to move to the bar so we could sit side by side and talk instead of yelling over the small two-top, but bartender informed us bar seating is by reservation as well. Our server was nice, he offered suggestions with confidence. He did start to fall off on service by the end of our meal, neglecting to check back in with us after our entrees came. In his defense he did get a bigger table than ours and it looked like they were giving him hell with wine service. But nevertheless, in this instance we actually needed him, bc there was an issue of doneness with the Shrimp Siam. After we finished our other entrees (grilled octopus, gnocchi- both top notch *throws stars in the air), our server circled back, apologized and placed our dessert order with haste. He HAD to try this chocolate deal all the yelpers were raving about. It was flippin divine! Decadent, beautiful and sat atop a Kit Kat of sorts! I gobbled! Then, chef sent us a panna cotta on the house for the shrimp mishap. Yall, I've never even had panna cotta- never appealed to me...when I tell you I instantly text my foodie friend to encourage her to bump Auden up to the TOP of her list for this dessert alone, know that I'm dead serious. It was so unassuming but complex: a temperature ride and with its ?berry flavored ice chips! A texture ride with its ?praline crunchies on top! Outta bounds dessert. Other pluses: beef tallow candle with bread service; mgr came over to acknowledge us after the complaint; amuse-bouche shot ft. Ashwaganda; things were comp'd in consolation; fancy ass take-away bags (see pic). In conclusion: I'd def come back and I'd skip the shrimp (they're so huge they're sus and that prob lends to the cooking issue). Two word review: come hungry.
google avatar

Joyce A.

Yelp
The staff was amazing. The brambleberry fizz was so good and rich, like a rasberry ice cream. Definitely order it right at the beginning. I did, and it still took the whole meal. The bombolini were good, I wasn't that big of a fan of the cake batter ice cream. The forget me not was a bit sweet. The food was a mixed bag. The fried oysters were really good. I would buy that sauce bottled. The scallion hotcakes were like fluffy pancakes with scallions and chili oil. The mashed potatoes and grits were good. The shrimp and ribeye were disappointing. Both were overcooked, which is kind of a big deal if you pay $75 for a ribeye. The ribeye was thin and reminiscent of an arrachera.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service! The food was flavorful and yummy. The menu isn't huge but has many options. I would definitely return here for dinner and am interested in trying the brunch. Perfect for date night or dinner with friends. Tons of patio space outside for when the weather is nice!

Yelp
We had dinner at Auden and were disappointed by the experience, both the service and the food. While the restaurant is beautiful, it just doesn't live up to the upscale restaurant (and matching prices) that it's trying to be. For service, alarm bells rang when I ordered a glass of cava, and our waiter asked if that was a red wine. He then proceeded to disappear halfway through our meal and was replaced by another server. Generally, service was a bit awkward. For food, here's what we tried: -Bread service: I liked the bread service--the bread was warm and a little sweet, and there was plenty of butter served with the bread. -Scallops: The scallops were well cooked, and I really liked the sauce that came with it--the sauce included kernels of corn, and the sauce itself tasted like cornbread, yum. -Brussel sprouts: They were fine, maybe a little salty, but OK. -Octopus: I personally liked the octopus and the sauce that came with it, but my friend did not--I guess a personal preference maybe? -Gnocchi: Not edible. We each ate one bite of gnocchi and didn't feel inclined to eat any more. It was fairly flavorless, and the gnocchi pieces were soggy. I actually heard a server recommending the gnocchi as a great vegetarian option to the table next to us, and it was all I could do to restrain myself from warning them.

Yelp
Walking into Auden I was met with a cozy ambiance and a friendly welcoming. I went with a party of 7 and did not make a reservation so we knew it was a big ask to be seated on such a short notice. We also had to rush out to make a show. The service was impeccable and so accommodating. I would go back just for the service, but the food and drinks were delicious as well. Everything is meant to be family style which I loved. We ended up splitting the octopus, kale Cesar salad, fried oysters, and gnocchi. All the dishes had complex flavors and depth. The octopus was charred and had an amazing chimichurri. Can't wait to go back and try more dishes!

Yelp
What a treat! Beautiful space and amazing service (shout out to Noble)! So many little details have been put into this place that make your dining experience even that more elevated. Highly recommend their cocktails to start along with the fried oysters! There wasn't anything left on anyone's plate after the entrees! LOL! And I am not a sweets person but their chocolate dessert and panna cotta were fantastic!!

Yelp
My entire experience from the second we walked in was incredible. We received a birthday card and glad of bubbly for my fiancés birthday. Upon placing our orders, we receive ashwagandha shots-alcohol free with a rim of spice. It was DELICIOUS! I was contemplating ordering another one. The crawfish samosas were perfect, the pasta- second on the menu, starting with an "A" was scrumptious. The chicken 65 was finger-licking GOOD!! Must try! The mix of authentic twists and flavor was amazing. I had a wonderful time here. The service, the attention to detail, the restaurant, and atmosphere was soothing. Such a delicate place, and so much to offer! Can't wait to come back and try the brazino!

Yelp
Had a nice dinner with my husband! The place is surprisingly small, so don't expect a boisterous crowd. The restaurant itself is clean, dimly lit, has a nice bar, and service is great! All the food is good--we enjoyed the no name burger, octopus and scallops. The chocolate mousse needs special praise; it is phenomenal! The pastry chef definitely earned her recent award nomination! Can't wait to go back and try the cheesecake... amongst other items! Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because we felt like there wasn't much to choose from on the menu. It does have items for vegetarians, those who want fish, beef, chicken, etc. But I expected a bigger selection. Don't let this deter you--it's a lovely place and we plan on going back!

Yelp
We tried Auden within the first few weeks of opening - it's located in Autry Park area, which is nice to walk around. Restaurant itself is intimate and classy. Service started off with an amuse bouche, which was nice. For our party of 4, we split 3 appetizers, 3 entrees, and a dessert. Drinks were good. Straciatelle - 5/5 - we weren't going to try it but glad the waiter highly recommended it. It was delicious! Octopus - 5/5 - cooked perfectly! Palm cakes - 3/5 - sounded interesting, but unless you really love crab cakes, this is just okay. Cacio e Pepe - 4/5 Scallops - 5/5 delicious Red snapper - 4/5 Le Choclat- 5/5 - delicious! Get it! Service was good for the most part. Wish they asked about allergies, because we didn't realize there was pork in the scallops. The major downside is portions are smaller and we left a bit hungry despite ordering and spending quite a bit.

Yelp
My husband and I went here for our pre anniversary dinner celebration and we were blown away with the service and food! It gives such a quaint, charming feel- with the staff all giving 100% and being so attentive. Food and drinks were outstanding with very reasonable pricing. Had apps (wish I remembered the name of each dish), an entree each and several cocktails and were no disappointed! What a beautiful experience.

Yelp
We went there for my friend's 30th birthday. The ambiance was beautiful and the staff was courteous, unfortunately that's all I can say for this place. Our meal was way overpriced and buffet quality at best. $8 for bland dinner rolls and plain butter. $36 for unseared scallops. $16 for 6 bland fried oysters no bigger than the end of my thumb. $20 for the "no label burger" and I know why, if I were that burger I wouldn't want anyone to know my name either. Quality beef patty on a sweet bun with a thin smear of "jam." no cheese, no veggies Served with, no lie, McDonald's French fries. $35 for dry aged duck curry which was made with chicken not duck, and the "curry" was a bland carrot paste. The only thing good was the Le Choclat dessert which was actually an impressive blend of mousse and dark chocolate. That was worth $12 of the $16 pricetag. Overall, everything was overpriced and mediocre at its absolute best. I would have rather popped a ready made meal from H-E-B in an air fryer with no additional seasoning for 1/10th the cost.

Yelp
I enjoyed a wonderful evening at the Auden, a chic new spot in the Autry Park neighborhood. I booked a table in advance to secure a place as soon as they opened. The ambiance was cozy and elegant, with dim lights and plush dark green chairs. The highlight of my night was meeting James, the friendly bartender who took care of me. He answered all my questions, recommended some delicious dishes and drinks, and showed me the private section of the restaurant. I didn't sit at the bar, but I felt like I had a personal connection with him. The food was amazing, with rich flavors and textures that satisfied my palate. Parking: I valet parked straight head of the restaurant. $7.00 is worth it so you don't have to ride around looking for a spot that's next to construction or the luxury apartment that above the restaurant.

Yelp
Blown away by this gem. Walking into the space, we were warmly greeted. Desiring only a drink and snack, we sat at the bar with James, a fantastic human. He started us off with a liquid amuse ashwagandha strawberry tea in a tajin rimmed shot glass and mesquite smoke. Scallion hotcakes were simply divine. Fluffy pillows drenched in honey and cultured dollop of butter to dress the carb creation of pastry chef, Kripa. Agnolotti of maitake, dancing with charred onions and tikka masala reminiscent of ashrams past. Crispy gulf oysters, trout roe, Fresno chilies balanced perfectly with texture and spice. Exec and owner, Kirthan, sealed the deal with a personal visit sharing his passion for excellence in the industry. Welcome to the next level of Houston hospitality.

Yelp
I came here for a Valentines date and was thoroughly spoiled with great service, amazing food, and a beautiful dining atmosphere. Our waitress was quirky, friendly, and answered all of our questions with suggestions! We started with the fried oysters (5/5) and scallion hotcakes (4/5). The fried oysters were perfectly fried with a light, herby, buttermilk batter. The fresno chili placed on top was not only picturesque but also added another flavor dimension and texture piece! The scallion hotcakes were to die for... with the cultured butter (extra butter please??). For entrees we got the agnolotti (5/5) and branzino (4/5). The pasta was a fusion between Italian and Indian with the tikka masala sauce. The branzino, although beautiful and flavorful, had way too many thorns. Our waitress assisted us with filleting the fish (thank you!), however every single bite came with a baby thorn, eventually leading me to stop eating the fish. For dessert we ordered the chai cheesecake and le choclat. Both desserts were amazing- presentation, flavor, and decadence. If you are looking for something light, the cheesecake is a great option as it is not really shareable. If you are looking for something rich and creamy, the le choclat is a must!

Yelp
Enjoyed a beautiful dinner for Valentine's Day with my girls with reservations at Auden. Houston's Autry Park is opening up the newest scene for restaurants. Auden is nestled right in front of a dog park in the neighborhood but does not at all give dog park vibes! This place is small sexy and gives a good vibe. We started off at the bar ordering a few items from their selected cocktail menu. I ordered the Trip to Pardise and the bartender even adjusted the drink to my liking. I love mezcal and I want to be able to taste that over sweetness or flavor. Thought that was very nice of him. Once our table was ready we moved over and had the view of the park. Cute cozy window seat. Nobel was our waiter and he gave us time to chat and chat and chat some more. They also brought over a complimentary sparkling wine to each of us at the table. Cute little treat! Once we were ready to order we decided on a few starter and the steak for a shared entree. Scallops - yummy! They had charred corn and bacon that gave it a salty sweet contrast Brussel Sprouts - melt in your mouth tender with Parmesan cheese Gnocchi - handmade gnocchi so the texture was kinda not what I expected. Didn't have much taste though Ribeye with broccolini and golden potatoes - well seasoned meat and crisp broccolini, the potatoes were good and kinda had me puzzled they looked like sweet potatoes but didn't taste like that at all.

Yelp
I recently visited Auden with 2 close friends to celebrate our joint birthdays. The experience was phenomenal! The ambiance allowed for warm conversations on a cold night. Service was exceptional as our server made good menu recommendations and adjusted dishes to our requirements of no pork or alcohol. We appreciated the Dry January Drink Menu full of delicious mocktails! We shared stracciatella, hokkaido herb buns, chicken 65, gnochhi, brussel sprouts and tempura mushrooms - which were all amazing! The star of the show was the Branzino - so flavorful and perfectly cooked! Le Chocolat and Tres Leches were the perfect sweet ending to the meal. We will definitely be returning soon!

Yelp
Newer restaurant, food was not for my liking. The dessert was the best part, chocalat. Street parking or garage parking.

Yelp

Yelp
They don't have many brunch options. They have coffee/latte on menu but only but only had whole milk. The appetizer pancake was just ok. The biscuits were better. But the brunch was alright. The ambiance was nice. Them service was good.

Yelp
Two girlfriends and I went to dinner here on a Friday evening around 6:30. The interior of the restaurant was super chic and inviting but it was pretty quite when we arrived. The space is smaller and cozier than I was expecting it to be, but in a good way. Our cocktails took a while to get to the table, however they are newly open so I imagine they are still working out some kinks. We were served a complimentary asparagus cream amuse bouche that was a nice surprise. For dinner we ordered - brussels sprouts, gnocchi, roasted cauliflower and harissa chicken. Over all the food was pretty great. The gnocchi in particular was incredibly delicious. I was a little disappointed that the brussels were not listed as being fried. I guess I should have assumed they were because that tends to be how they are always served at restaurants these days but it is not my preference. By the time we left around 8:30 the dining room was very lively. Would be happy to come back here once they have a some more time to work out kinks!

Yelp
I honestly don't know where to begin! From start to finish, this was an amazing experience! Our server Nobel was polite, engaging and comical throughout our enter evening. We came to celebrate 3 birthdays and he did his best to accommodate. Including champagne and a shared dessert. Food was flavorful and the perfect portion size. We tried the Brussel sprouts and fried oysters for appetizers, amazing! Especially the sauce under the oysters. The Duck Curry was nice, great curry base. The steak and frites were perfectly seasoned and steak cooked as requested. The Red Snapper was my favorite! Delicate and came over a tasty sauce as well. We tried the Lady in Red (their version of a Negroni), Forget Me Not (with Tequila) and Bayou City Bandit(their version of a manhattan) and and Not Your Nanas Martini with Caviar. Super creative and delicious drinks. 10/10 !

Yelp
If you're seeking a dining experience with exquisite dishes, look no further than Auden. The ambience is prefect for a date night, or just a night out for really good food that will leave one wanting to come back for more. We had a lot of unique and tasty food, one of which was the Shrimp Siam. Bursting with flavors that were simultaneously sweet, tangy, and spicy, this dish delivered a balance that made each bite so flavorful. The jumbo shrimp were impeccably grilled, adding a subtle smokiness that complemented the vibrant sauce, giving it a bit of a cajun kick A shareable we enjoyed a lot was the Eggplant Hummus. Creamy and smooth, the hummus was infused with the rich essence of roasted eggplant, giving it a unique twist. Served alongside fresh sourdough bread, the combination was simply irresistible. This dish proved that traditional hummus could be reinvented into something extraordinary. We thought the entrees were great, but man were we amazed and swept off our feet with the desserts. We tried their dessert lineup of the tres leches, Le choclat, and panna cotta. I still can't decide which one topped the list. All I know is the next time we go there, we aren't leaving until we eat all of them again. We were left in a state of sheer dessert euphoria I am a big old fashioned fan, and Auden has a twist on this cocktail called the garam masala old fashioned. This expertly crafted beverage combined the familiarity of an old fashioned with the exoticness of garam masala spice. The result was a delightful and unexpected twist on a classic, with warm notes of cinnamon and cloves that added depth and complexity. It was truly a memorable and one of a kind libation. Auden is the spot that will transport you to a realm of culinary delight. From their standout dishes to their heavenly desserts and innovative cocktails, there is a dining experience you won't want to miss. Needless to say, but (as Arnold would).....I'll be back!

Yelp
The location is great, service was really good, and I highly recommend the scallion hotcakes. I also had the caviar crudo, duck, and cacio e Pepe and they were all very good especially the duck. The desserts were 10/10 with the tres leches being my favorite, will come back to try more of the menu.

Yelp
We went to Auden as a group of four. Reservations were very easy to make online. The chef sent out an amuse bouche starter before appetizers, they were great. We ordered the Brussel sprouts, bread service and scallion hot cakes. The bread service had a few different breads and a compound butter. They even had a beef tallow candle that could be used to dip the bread. Scallion hot cakes were the favorite though. We ordered the harissa chicken, dry aged duck, red snapper and cioppino. Everything was great but we especially liked the duck breast, and cioppino. Lastly we ordered the Le Choclat, panna cotta, and tres leches. All desserts were great but our favorite was the tres leches. Service was really great, and fast. We were seated quickly, and our server was on point with recommendations and explaining some of the foods we weren't sure about. Really great overall and we are actually planning on coming back soon.

Yelp
We went for a date night! And it was such a nice experience. We sat at the bar and got to see all of our drinks being made. Every time I would ask what was coming out. Drinks: Garam old fashions white noise ticket to paradise Appetizers: Bread service (the butter was so good) Patate carbonara flatbread (the bread it was on was chefs kiss) Dinner: Shared the pappardelle (10/10) Pork chop Filet Beet gnocchi (my favorite) Dessert: You must order the LE CHOCLAT

Yelp
I had high hopes for Auden. The place is small. Brought a few friends and we split a $17 Straciatelle appetizer recommended by the server which was a cold cheese thing with few slices of bread that was just okay at best. Then we get our entrees and I had the parpardelle, which was exactly 6 pieces of thick noodles with tomato sauce and Parmesan, and it wasn't even hot -- lukewarm at best. For $26 that felt absolutely not worth it. All the portions seemed very small from appetizer to entrees. Every single one of my friends said they were still hungry after the meal. Leaving hungry after spending $70 on food and drink is kind of tragic. I can't recommend this place.

Yelp
This place is just fantastic! No parking issues, quiet location surrounded by natural lights. Once you enter the place the ambiance is truly amazing! We ordered the vegetarian menu. The place was almost packed on a Saturday night. We enjoyed every bite of every dish we ordered, the flavors were uniquely mind blowing! Service was incredible! This will be our favorite go to place henceforth!

Yelp
My boyfriend and I Loved it here at Auden. Food was reasonably priced and good. Small quaint restaurant with a lot of character. So cute. I would highly recommend it.

Yelp
Great ambiance, excellent cocktails (especially loved the Butterfly Effect and the Bayou City Bandit), food was delish! We came in for a girls night and the staff were so friendly and attentive. Faves were the crawfish samosas (so crispy, huge crawfish), whole branzino (perfection), brussel sprouts (the lemon zest on top was perfect), and orecchiette (creamy and flavorful). And the desserts! Holy moly! You have to get the tres leches (they come out and pour at least one of the leches on top and it is beautiful), bombolini (perfect little doughnut bites) and le choclat (I will be dreaming about it). Can't wait to repeat!
