Augie's Breakfast Bar - Review - Edgewood - Atlanta - The Infatuation

"Augie’s Breakfast Bar in Edgewood has a really good brunch with an old-school diner feel. It's the kind of place where you’ll probably make a friend, or bump elbows with your neighbor. Servers hustle between tables topping off coffee, while cooks flip pancakes on the flat top in the open kitchen. It’s always busy with a cast of regulars who argue loudly about the Falcons’ playoff chances as they slather syrup on their fluffy stacks. Even when it's packed, you can usually snag a quick seat at the bar, where you get a front row view of the kitchen while you dig into great hearty Southern staples like thick, chargrilled steak and buttery biscuits. On the weekends, your best bet is to come solo or with a small group." - Jacinta Howard

Angie’s Cafe is a small, quaint spot with a cozy atmosphere and outdoor seating. The service was good and our waitress was attentive throughout the meal. The food was excellent my steak (medium well) was cooked perfectly, and my daughter couldn’t stop raving about the potatoes. The grits and cheese were also very flavorful. Overall, everything we tried had great taste and quality. We went on a Sunday around 11:30 AM, and it got very crowded not long after. In fact, some people ended up leaving because of the wait. That said, I respect that the kitchen took the time to prepare the food right instead of just rushing it out. If you don’t mind waiting during peak hours, this little gem is definitely worth a visit for the great food and friendly service.

Great place for brunch. Nice Vibes with the music. Food was Outstanding! We beat the crowd but service was a little slow but Server Was very Friendly. She had alot of responsibilities. She did Awesome! Exhaust in there could use some updating, a little smoky.. Would definitely return and recommend!

I kept forgetting to do my review from our visit on Oct 12 but here goes. Location is nice with free parking and the hostess that sat us was nice and friendly. The waitress started off friendly but something, I'm not sure what, changed her mood and she went from smiling and friendly to short and dry. I've never been to a restaurant that gives you grits on a plate instead of a bowl. It seems like an attempt to hide the amount of grits you're receiving. The waffle was good but the chicken skin was crumbly as if the grease should've been changed. I did like the area that appears to be added on, like a sun room and the Arnold Palmer was delicious. There were a few gnats that were annoying, even in the bathroom. It was ok overall but we all agreed we probably won't return.

Really enjoyed the warm hospitality. You can tell that food was cooked with love and care (personally, I would like my scrambled eggs cooked a little harder - less runny) but they were still good. The breakfast potatoes were very well cooked and seasoned properly...overall, this was a very good first experience and the portion matched the price very well.

I ordered the catfish and grits, and they were spot-on & absolutely delicious. I waited about 15 minutes to be seated and around 45 minutes for my food (on a Saturday), but it was well worth the wait. My server, Alicia, provided excellent service. I'd highly recommend this restaurant and will certainly return.

My boyfriend and I love Augie’s. We usually go to the one on Ralph David but found ourselves trying the one on Caroline Street. We ordered the catfish, Easy lovers, and isn’t she lovely. The catfish was amazing alongside the Isn’t she lovely. With my easy lovers it was shrimp based. I couldn’t even bite through the shrimp. I nicely asked my waiter if it could be remade, just the shrimp not the whole meal. Shavon(waitress) was very nice and asked the chef and he quickly got an attitude and made a big deal out of it and asked how many I ate. Come to find out it comes with 5 shrimp and one of the chefs dropped mine and forgot to remake it and initially it came with 4 . In addition to the unnecessary attitude - there’s a real problem with fruit flies (gnats) I’ve had to swipe away around 7 times at bugs in here . But in conclusion . This adventure here at Augies was alright but if there was a tad bit better customer service from the chef I believe I would’ve enjoyed myself 10x more .

Went here at noon after church for breakfast. My first time here, no wait and was able to get a table quickly. The food came out fresh and delicious 😋. Reasonable prices. Friendly staff and cool atmosphere. Definitely give them a try, you won't regret it!! 💯😊 Also, I love the cute little names they have for the different plates of food too!! 😂 Especially, if you don't eat pork,..they have vegan and chicken sausage links.

Discovered this little gem via a breakfast near me search while in ATL. Excellent, excellent food and incredible service. So many options to choose from and was convinced there isn't bad option on the menu. Wife got the shrimp and grits (no picture) and she said they were some of the best she ever had. And the biscuits were a homerun too. Highly recommend and love the story behind it's founding.
