Augie’s - Review - Lincoln Park - Chicago - The Infatuation

"Augie’s Booze and Shmooze in Lincoln Park closed its doors (and backyard volleyball court) in 2021, but has reopened with some big changes. They’ve shortened the name to just Augie’s, given the previously divey interior a modern facelift, and replaced the volleyball court with patio seating. Boozing and shmoozing is still possible with a full bar, along with food like pizza, crispy chicken sandwiches, and bacon date burgers. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - John Ringor

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! We love the remodel. It’s super cute inside with great food, drinks, and friendly staff. Get the Porch Swing cocktail, it was delish. Can’t wait for the patio to open (plz be dog friendly!!) and to see what the Happy Hour specials will be 👀🍸💫 Welcome to the neighborhood, Augie’s!

I recently visited Augies in LP, and new ownership has really made the place beautiful! The atmosphere is inviting and fun, making it a perfect place to relax, sip on a cocktail, and enjoy a meal. Favorite Drink - Porch swing - a refreshing watermelon, cucumber, lime flavor with a Tajin rim tastes like summer. I shared a few apps with my gals - calamari (liked the peppers that came with it), mozz sticks (wow wow wow - great shareable) and then had the portobello mushroom sandwich as my main. Also, best cookie skillet I've ever had. Truly divine! Overall, I highly recommend checking out Augies under the new ownership. It's a fantastic addition to the Lincoln Park dining scene, and I can't wait to go back.

Such a great addition to the neighborhood! The space is super cute and has a cozy, welcoming vibe. We waited about 25–30 minutes for our group, but the service was attentive and friendly the whole time. We ordered a couple of drinks and chips & salsa to start, everything was fresh and flavorful. The salads were absolutely delicious, and the truffle fries are a must. So happy to support a family-owned spot like this. We’ll definitely be back!

Hands down one of the best meals I’ve had in the Chicagoland area. The drinks are absolutely delicious and the food was incredible. Service was also phenomenal — really kind waitress, the food was ready so quickly, and the price was surprisingly a lot less than I’d expected it to be when I looked at the check. I’ve paid much more at much less impressive bars/restaurants. I never really leave reviews but this was by far one of the best dining/drinking experiences I’ve had in Chicago so I feel compelled to leave one lol.

Great pizza crust, but Brussels and pizza were a little too greasy for my taste. Great service and fun vibe.

We only came for drinks, so can't comment on the food. We both ordered seasonal cocktails right off the menu. Both of our cocktails were sickeningly sweet, without really a hint of alcohol. They were borderline undrinkable. Really disappointing because we wanted to like this place, and the ambiance and service were good.

So much potential. Cocktails and atmosphere were great. We got the chicken sandwich and burger for dinner. The server brought our food and we thought it was going to taste amazing but after one bite we looked at each other confused…these were the most bland sandwiches we’ve ever eaten. I don’t think any salt or seasoning was used. We’re holding out hope that it was just us but it’s a very easy fix and we hope they can adjust it because it has all the potential to be a great neighborhood spot!

Love this new addition to the neighborhood. My son and his family live a five minute walk away. The staff were great and very attentive. Food and drinks were delicious. They even have a kids menu. We can't wait to see the patio area once it's completed. We'll definitely be frequenting this place on our visits.

Yelp
Great food, atmosphere and staff. Has such a fun vibe - good to have a cozy neighborhood place in an area that has limited options. Best items - tavern style pizzas, smash burgers, Brussels sprouts, salads, grilled cheese and tomato soup and burrata.

Yelp
Ordered two speciality cocktails. The bartender barely filled my glass halfway for both of them. The whiskey drink in a highball glass barely went halfway to the top, and that's with a giant ice cube in it. The same thing happened with the Gin drink I ordered. The specialty cocktail prices are too high to give me Mickey Mouse size portions. I won't be back. The original "Augie" would not approve.

Yelp
Augie's 2.0 or all new. Either way, it's a big change from the old charm of a bar. This has glamour and glitz, a full food menu, and is dog friendly on the patio. It's not Augie's of old, but it's great. The salad was delicious, and fries are tasty.

Yelp
Very nice new place with menu of bar eats like smash burgers and flatbread. Local hangout place that has been missing from the neighborhood for some time. Staff was great, food was good.

Yelp
One of my favorite chicken caesar wraps on this side of town! The owners are extremely kind and you can tell this is the place where regulars come to have a cocktail or watch a game. The days of a dive-y Augies are over and this place is elevated in ambiance with really great food.

Yelp
The atmosphere, food and service was excellent. Had their smash burger which was excellent. Calamari and their salads are great. Recommend this restaurant for a casual lunch or dinner.
