How Amusement Parks Use Fried Chicken to Sell the American Dream | Eater

"Located inside a celebrity-driven theme park, this family-style restaurant serves a Southern fried chicken recipe attributed to the owner's mother that is seasoned with paprika and cayenne, fried to a crisp, and offered alongside classic sides like mashed potatoes, green beans and cornbread — a comforting, hearty dish presented as part of a nostalgic, down-home dining experience." - Amy McCarthy

Where to Eat at Dollywood | Eater Nashville

"Consider this your go-to for what could easily be Sunday supper at Grandma’s house; nationally recognized among the best U.S. theme-park restaurants, it traditionally ran as a buffet but adopted family-style service during the pandemic, serving fried chicken, fish, pot roast, city ham, every side imaginable, homemade biscuits or cornbread muffins, and a dessert bar full of pies that practically demands you save room." - Delia Jo Ramsey

This restaurant is inside Dollywood and you need a ticket to enter and eat here. I will say I’m not sure how this place can be a 4.4 (at time of writing). This is a Paula Dean style restaurant, we picked pot roast (was dry), catfish (very good) and fried chicken (just average). We got mashed potatoes and gravy (fair-had to look to ensure they were real mashed potatoes), mac and cheese (delicious), corn pudding (dry and tasteless) and honey glazed carrots (should be removed from restaurant, no honey glaze, hard not soft and worst of all not warm at all). Overall very disappointed as we had been looking forward to this meal and had planned on eating here. Our waitress was ok, not good or bad. The kitchen took a long time or our waitress was slower than I realized as the restaurant was half full at best and the food is cooked already and other comparable restaurants this style are much quicker. This place is much slower and not anywhere near as good as other spots in town. If you want Paula Dean style buffet go there or one of many places in town and it’s much better and a few bucks cheaper too. Also Julie couldn’t muster a word such as thank you or anything when checking us out she was quite cold. Also your options for tip is 15%, 20% or 25%, no custom option was available which is pretty petty, we normally tip well but we didn’t this time as much as normal as our service was average at best. This is a place to skip.

We had such a wonderful experience here. The food was delicious. The people were so friendly, everybody was just so nice from the people who set us down to the people who took her food order it was Wonderful. We had Kevin as a server and he Is an asset to your business and he did your place proud. Thank you all so much for everything and I know the wait was long for some people., However, we just looked at lots and we had a wonderful time.

Everything is served family style. Your group starts out with 3 entrees and 4 sides. After that you can order what you want. Drinks and dessert is included. The fried chicken and corn pudding were my favorites. The bread pudding was bland and the sauce was overly sweet. Service was great and they were wonderful to our large group.

Aunt Granny’s was such a pleasant surprise! The food was really good, and for an all-you-can-eat spot inside a theme park, the price was honestly great. Our server was amazing—super attentive and kept everything coming without us ever needing to ask. I especially loved the fried chicken and the catfish—both were so flavorful and cooked just right. I completely forgot to take pictures because I was too busy devouring everything (I showed up starving and left stuffed). It was a bit hard to enjoy the rest of the park being that full... but honestly, totally worth it. If you're visiting Dollywood, make sure you go hungry and hit this place!

Obviously ate here during our Dollywood trip. Wanted somthing other than the food stands and heard great reviews. Waited about 20 minutes for our group of ten. Had to split up but I guess that's okay. Food came out fast and hot. Everything was delicious. Dessert and drinks were included. The only reason I have four stars was the price and lack of kids pricing. My 10 year old has to pay $30 for Mac n chz. Not sure what a better option might be but anything would be better. $30 per person is steep, even for being inside a theme park. Honestly $20 would be fair. Would we eat there again? Probably not. Great food though!!

I love high quality GOOD food and this place really hit the standard. Our server was professional, sweet and explained everything before we even began. The food is served family style at the table And my personal experience with This sort of setup is usually subpar food Which tastes extremely processed. Each and every dish hit the spot. From the green beans to the macaroni and cheese to the exquisitely tender pot roast. Myself and my dining companions were all impressed and we definitely will be returning.

The food came out cold! I don’t pay good money for cold food. The sausage, the Mac and cheese, the fried okra, the fried catfish was all cold. Mashed potatoes came out hot! Unacceptable for a restaurant! The desserts were all premade, sitting out and not homemade. Some like this kind of eating but I don’t. Sorry, but I don’t have anything positive to say. Oh yes, drinks and dessert came with the meal and you can eat all you want.

This is what Dollywood is all about. Copious amounts of sweet tea and southern food for a great price. Lovely service too. We went for lunch around 1pm and were seated right away, which I would recommend as the lines get pretty long later on.
