"This place is a longtime local favorite. Try the famous Black Box — there are many iterations of this dish, most including some combination of a low-country boil: crab clusters, shrimp, sausage, corn, and potatoes. It also serves an array of boxes of fried and grilled Cajun favorites ranging from fish and shrimp to wings and sausage." - Courtney E. Smith

I honestly don’t give out 5 stars too often or at all. Aunt Irene’s food definitely deserves the praise and money. At first glance I was like “oooh this is kind of expensive”, but once I got my food it really was worth it. I was able to eat off the plate twice! I’m a 6’4 240lb man with a large appetite. The fish was seasoned & fried to perfection & the shrimp was delicious! Definitely a go to eatery in the DeSoto area

I want to see the cheapest item was probably a salad starting off at $16. After that the prices did go up but they are definitely worth the price and the wait. I would also recommend you try to drinks that they have as well. Overall was a good experience and definitely will be back.

Getting to this place was challenging. The food was hot and they did five a lot for your money. The fish was fried to hard and they needed to change the grease. I drive over 200 miles to this place. When I was leaving walking back to the car there were gun shoots going off. Had me hiding behind my car. So I want be returning for that reason.

I was in Dallas so I stopped by aunt Irene’s for the first time, the service was good and the staff was friendly and informative, there was about a 45-1 hour wait which was fine I got the crab black box…the seafood was overall good but it was a bit Salty for me but it still had a good flavor to it and that BUTTER SAUCE or crack sauce whatever they call it is so so gooooood I would go back just to buy that lol my daughter got the fried lemon pepper wings and they were fried to perfection so overall it was a good a experience ❣️

Back with another review, this time from Aunt Irene's kitchen. First visit was good with a long but tolerable wait. However, on Jan 18th, 2024, the experience was disappointing. Ordered at 12:26 pm, received at 1:05 pm. The portion of fries was tiny, like McDonald's small fries, and neither the fries nor the pork chop were hot or fresh. A 39-minute wait for cold food is unacceptable, especially considering the good deal on the price."

Aunt Irene's is a hole in the wall classic. The food is made to order so it's fresh. I would also go early because the wait can get long with so many orders in line. They always do their best to get it out quickly. Kool-Aid is amazing and they are not stingy with their portions. They have plenty of options to choose from.

I found out about this place off the web and decided to try it once I got to Dallas. This spot is definitely in the hood but that doesn't take away from the great food and customer service I received. Everything was fresh and piping hot. If you don't eat seafood don't worry they have other options for you and to top it off they cater to those with seafood allergies!!!!👍👍 I definitely recommend you stopping by and giving them a try. Shout out to @Mr.Chimetime for the assist.
