Spend my partner’s birthday dinner at Aureole and we had a fantastic evening. From being greeted by name, loads of “happy birthdays” from the staff and a little extra birthday dessert. The food was excellent and of a very high quality. The chef is a true talent and does a great job. We got a 7 course tasting with wine pairing and not a single course disappointed. Visit the restaurant after 8pm to avoid the pre theatre rush.

Excellent spot, especially for restaurant week! We had the heirloom tomatoes and salmon tartare to start - the pesto on the heirloom tomatoes is surprisingly delicious! We had the striped bass, chicken and pasta for mains - the striped bass with corn and grains was really good. We ended with the strawberries dessert, which was light and delicious - they had a spearmint coulis that is so good. Their wine list is great too! Overall highly recommend this spot.

We had lunch here and it was delicious. We had the Roasted Icelandic Cod - shellfish caponata, sea foam, basil and the Caramelized Sonoma Chicken - herbed gnocchi, baby brussels, onion chutney, chanterelles. It’s definitely worth a visit and I will certainly come back.

I only went to have a few drinks at the bar. The staff was so warm and friendly that it felt like we were all long time buddies. I ended up have appetizers and desert and the food was delicious. Rightly price too when you factor their location. Good vibes

This place seems to be fine dining, but we came during restaurant week at the last seating (10pm on a Friday) and it left something to be desired. The food was good, but the service was a bit rushed. Unfortunately, not over the top experience like I was expecting from things I've heard in the past. The main course came out when we were still finishing our appetizers. Nothing was bad, I was just expecting a more sophisticated experience.

Nice restaurant with good food, in a central area of NYC. Everyone enjoyed their meal - the food gras was nice, and my steak done well (and actually rare). The service was very good and friendly too.

Aureole has two dining "partitions", the casual Liberty Room and the formal Dining Room. As far as I can tell, they serve the same menu. We prefer casual settings and had lunch at the Liberty Room. Its pre-fixe lunch, three courses for $43 or two courses (without dessert) for $38, is a steal for fine dining in the city. However, each course only has two choices. We had Pork Belly as a starter. Its skin was crispy and meat tender. For main course, my husband had the Veal Osso Buco and I had the Tilefish. Both dishes were very good. However, the Peanut-Chocolate Tart dessert was a bit too sweet for my taste. Services were excellent. We would definitely go back again.

I went last Monday for the restaurant week, I was very excited about going as it's a Michelin star restaurant. I think it's the most expensive bad experience I have had in a restaurant. I go often to nice restaurants as my husband and I like to try new places and we enjoy eating good food, I had so much expectations from this place but it was so dissapointing. The service was very poor, they took about 20 minutes to ask us what we wanted to drink, then they took 10 more minutes to bring us the drinks and 15 minutes later they asked what we wanted to eat, so we spent 45 minutes before we were asked what we would like to order. They took way too long to clean up the table after we finished every plate, and the worst is that we noticed they were very fast at other tables, maybe it's because we were doing restaurant week menu, but I think service shouldn't be different because of that. In regards of the food it was good, it had great combination of flavors, the presentation was very nice, but it wasn't nothing special or incredible, I felt like eating at any regular restaurant. In summary it had very slow and poor service, the food wasn't as amazing as I expected and they treat people different for doing restaurant week menu.
