The Best Places to Eat and Drink in Summit County, Colorado, Breckenridge | Eater Denver

"When Aurum opened last summer, it didn’t just come to town (the original location is in Steamboat) to capture the tourist traffic. Instead, owner Phillips Armstrong and chef Korey Sims examined what the town really needed. They settled on a menu deep in excellent crudos, appetizers like crispy curried cauliflower and spicy Korean fried chicken, and hearty entrées such as honey-spiced duck and a bang-up burger. The strong menu, just-right vibe, and Sims’ skill in the kitchen means Aurum is busy seven nights a week." - Amanda Faison

Google
Fine dining in Breckenridge. Overall a great experience but, for my palette at least, the chef was trying too hard on each dish, unnecessarily over complicating with flavors that fought rather than complemented each other or over amplified when subtly would have been better. Still, by far the best kitchen in Breckenridge and not too pricey as tasting menus go.

We went to Aurum for the first time last week and it was beyond what we imagined. We did the tasting menu and wine pairings. Definitely book a resy because with this quality, they’re busy! We luckily were able to snag a spot on the community table for the four of us and it was chefs kiss. I’m actually going back this Friday with another friend! Definitely come here if you’re looking for next level food experience. Fancy but friendly!

Google
Best meal in Breck! Stunning decor, attentive staff, and inventive menu. Many delicious options for the gluten free member of our party. Highly recommend the Crispy Curried Cauliflower, Goat Cheese and Fig Crispy Polenta, Wedge Salad, Surf & Turf, French Onion Burger, and Chili Maple Glazed Half Chicken.

Patrick Champalou

Google
Great upscale restaurant with the coolest vibe. I’m vegan and there were many options for me (polenta appetizer was excellent!) The wine selection is also awesome. It’s nice to be in a ski resort restaurant that is privately owned and serves other things than pizza! Service was top notch and Madison our server was friendly and helped me choose according to my needs. Will need to come back because there were other things on the menu I’d like to try for sure.

Google
The BEST happy hour in Breckenridge. We love sitting at the bar for happy hour. They have a great selection of food and drinks. Our favorites are the crispy curried cauliflower, the burger, and the Parker rolls. Highly recommend the cookie plate to end!

Google
Seated promptly, served attentively and professionally. The happy was a great was for us to try several of their snack options. Each dish was well done, and creative. The miso chocolate cake was our highlight- don’t skip the dessert menu!

Google
10 stars! Amazing service from Madison this evening, next level food, drinks & space with lovely outdoor area. Highest possible recommendation!

Google
Glad to be back, so warm and bright and cozy here. Craft cocktails were original offerings and yum. the gruyere mushroom soup and rolls were slightly addictive, so yah, that good. Loved the presentation and quality of ingredients across our courses, and would have only wanted the polenta to have either salt/heat to offset the super sweet pomegranate. Attentive friendly service once again, hope to make it back.

Yelp
Loved this place from the minute we walked in. Nice decor, really interesting artwork. Good bar right up front with a nice selection of more interesting liquors. We were a party of eight and (IMO) a bit of a handful, but our server took good care of us. She kept our drinks full and handled our "idiosyncrasies " with grace. The menu is simple enough to concentrate the kitchen's efforts but varied enough to satisfy. To start, we had the Parker House Rolls, which were very tasty, and the Hand-cut Fries, which were DELICIOUS. I had the Aurum Caesar for dinner and loved it. Also had a few big forkfuls of the featured pasta, which was their take on a carbonara. It was pretty good - but not as good as my salad. There were complimentary remarks about the Hanger Steak and the Mushroom and Gruyère Soup from others. All in all a very pleasant evening and we will definitely revisit when back in Breck. .

Yelp
Aurum is one of the better restaurants in Breckenridge, not quite in the elite tier of, say, Radicato, but it is much easier to get into. The food here is generally what I would call New American with a little French influence. Items like steaks, duck, a great burger, etc., adorn the menu. They have a great kids menu with one of my daughter's favorite burgers, and they have excellent fries, really, really excellent fries. The wine list is well priced and has a number of good values on it. Service can be up and down, on a recent visit, I ordered a nice bottle of wine for the table, and the glasses came fresh out of the dishwasher, still quite warm to the touch and smelling strongly of detergent. The staff did rectify the issue, but a warm wine glass should be caught on touch at these price points. Similarly, service disappeared a few times during our meal, leading to a bit of an odd cadence for food and drink arrivals at the table. Five of us got drinks, with one arriving about 5 minutes later, and then all of us finished our first round as appetizers were arriving, waiting then to re-order. If I could give it 4.5 stars, I would, but alas, it is not an option. Aurum, however, should be an option for your next nice family meal.

Yelp
OH my word!!! I just can't get enough of this place. They are consistent, just like me showing up to devour their Curry Cauliflower during happy hour. Great food and great happy hour value. Make sure to get there before the doors open at 4 PM. Or have a reservation. Until next time mi amor....which means see ya tomorrow

Yelp
It's a beautiful restaurant. We were greater when we walked in and seated right away. I highly recommend making a reservation. Our server explained the specials and placed a fee recommendations. To be honest you can't go wrong with anything you order. I do wish I got the short ribs for my meal instead as it is enormous and looked so appetizing! My husband got the trout, I got the French onion burger and the kids got steak and cookies. All were very tasty! I was so delighted with the cookie desert at it was soooo good! If you have room for dessert this is a must! Overall great place to eat! It does not disappoint

Yelp
Rating based on food price and quality! Avoid Aurum Food and find something else! This is a tourist spot, overpriced for the quality. We were a group of 6, and it was the first time in Aurum Food for 5 of us. The restaurant's atmosphere is modern but a little close to the guests on either side. It's not very spacious. We got the summer tasting menu and happy hour. Service: I think our waitress's name was Maya. (correction her name is Megan) She was friendly and attentive and explained the food in detail. Very knowledgeable about the menu. She provided excellent service. Three of us ordered the French Onion Burger and Korean fried chicken. The other 3 ordered RM Trout. Overall, 5 of us found the food disappointing and not good. We didn't have more than two bites of our Korean Fried Chicken. It was spicy, but that was not the problem; the "chicken" (if any) was hard, dry, salty, and chewy, not worthy of another bite. The Costco fried chicken tastes way better than this dish. So go to Costco, get a frozen bag, and drop some sesame seeds, pickled red onion, ranch dressing, and walla! The Burger was okay. It didn't wow me at all. I was not too fond of the onion jam (which I asked to be on the side to control how much I wanted on), but I'm glad I did, as I opted not to add any of it. The French fries were meh. Nothing special. One of my friends shared her trout dish, and I hoped to like it, but the trout was overcooked and underseasoned. The dish had so much going on that the flavors and components didn't mix well. After our experience, we all tried hard to understand how this is so highly rated. We all had high expectations for the price that we were paying. In addition to the awful food, know there is a charge fee for kitchen staff. Hello? Isn't the owner/industry supposed to be paying them? This fee is NOT mandatory. If the "Industry" wants to ensure fair compensation for ALL THE STAFF working behind the scenes. I believe it is the industry's responsibility to pay its employees fairly and NOT the clients to help it achieve that fair competition. That is why we are paying for overpriced dishes and tips!!! You're welcome! I will encourage all of my traveling friends to avoid this place. Alternatively, if you end up going, I recommend deducting the % kitchen fee charge from the server's tip. Please go elsewhere, as I certainly will. Pricing is already outrageous in Breck, but there are many places to eat without additional gouging.

Yelp
My favorite place for Hapoy Hour in Breck and top 3 restaurant! Food was amazing, our server Cherry was below average. We were there to celebrate 50th Birthday. She was rude, non attentive we had to ask other for drink refills and to order. Besides a very bd server, Arum is the best. Great apps to choose from: Korean chicken a must, cauliflower was spot on nd the burger was top notch. Great cocktails and one of our favs. This would be a 5 star but our bad service brought down this review. Highly recommend

Yelp
We were a party of five and arrived for a 7:45 reservation on a Saturday night. We were seated right away at a high top in the front of the restaurant. Our server, Bryan, was friendly, attentive, and explained the food in detail. We ordered many dishes to share, and we were impressed with the speed the plates came out of the kitchen and the efficiency of the staff to handle all of the food. We started with four different cocktails that were all delicious, but the Spicy Cucumber Margaritas were the table favorite. The Mountain Time was refreshing if you like gin, the Ginger Pear Martini was on the sweet side, and the Smokey Alpine Glow was fantastic if you like Mezcal tequila. It is pretty smokey if that is your thing (it is mine). Since we were with our adult children who are adventurous eaters, we shared all of the dishes. We ordered 9 dishes and that was the perfect amount of food as there was nothing left over and everyone was pleasantly satiated. Here is what we thought: Parker House Rolls - pretty typical and nothing outstanding Crispy Curried Cauliflower - if you like a bit of curry, this dish is fantastic! Korean BBQ Pork Ribs - A-maz-ing! Everyone loved the sauce and they were so tender. Miso Asparagus Bisque - very well balanced. We ordered two bowls and we all really wanted just a little bit more. Note: if you are taking pictures for a review, this dish is a not well photographed. The bowl is presented with asparagus and pistachio dust and then the servers pour in the soup and it becomes a bowl of greatness that looks bad in pics. Hamachi Crudo - a very well balanced, typical (in a great way) version of crudo. The Hamachi was fresh and perfectly sliced. We had two of these for the table. Housemade Rotating Pasta - It was good, but we didn't get the notes that Bryan said we would taste. It was very unique. This dish changes all the time, so what I say doesn't really matter here:) Farmers Market Special - for us it was cantaloupe done 4 ways. Very interesting and very tasty. We all appreciated the Chef's creativity with using local ingredients in this dish and the pasta dish. We did not have an entree, but I'm sure they are all as good as the rest of the menu. We all highly recommend Aurum (which is Latin for gold...we asked) if you are in Breckenridge. The standard menu is fantastic and the fact that Chef is creative with the pasta and farmer's market plates is very refreshing.

Yelp
We just stopped in on a busy night in Breck. The Uhler festival was happening and Main Street was packed. We found this on our walk for a restaurant. The place is very pretty. The little inside bar is beautiful with the tall full wall shelves. Service was very good. The mushroom soup was amazing! My husband loved his NY steak, cooked perfectly he said. The other 3 of us had the surf & turf with the crab cake. 2/3 steaks came out very nice cuts of meat. Mine however was very very fatty. The manager noticed when he was running plates and put another one on the fire immediately before we even noticed. That was outstanding service on his part. Personally the crab cake was a little fishy, it the other two loved theirs. Wine list is ok, nothing exotic or up to a wine lover. Wish there were more options But the cocktail list looked good! This is definitely a good restaurant, we will keep this on the rotation list when we come to Breckenridge.

Yelp
Geez, after reading the recent reviews on this restaurant, I was hesitant to go. But I'm so glad we did. I can see why it's the best happy jour in town. What a steal. But we weren't there for happy hour. We opted to come later to enjoy the outdoor seating. Our service was fantastic and Tom took care of us. There was a choice of mocktails which I appreciate. Everything we ate was delicious. We opted for the crudo (so spicy and delicious), the Korean fried chicken (just do it), the burger (fantastic flavors) and a special pasta. For dessert it was the cookies (yes, yes yes!) and the Elvis (a little spicy dessert). We enjoyed our meal and unanimously agreed this was a five star experience. We are glad we didn't listen to the other reviews!! PS-to be fair, working a huge table is never fun and never turns out well. So I take these large table complaints with a groan of salt.

Yelp
I love this restaurant!! Also best NA drinks! Service is great, everyone is always friendly. All the food is great, can't go wrong.

Yelp
I was surprised at how hyped this place was while visiting Breckenridge. The inside is very plain looking and the tables are very small and close together. Our server gave some recommendations & was overall very helpful and attentive. The food was okay, but nothing stuck out to me enough to be memorable. Some of it kind of gave bar food vibes, but the rolls were amazing!
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
Food was excellent- service was great. I was very unimpressed with the 3% kitchen fee. I have never seen this in my 20 years of eating at nice restaurants. I understand costs have risen, but bake this into the price. Don't add an unexpected fee without telling us about it. This 3% was unfortunately deducted from the servers tip. This fee should be explained or posted very visibly when walking in. Because of this, it ruined my night. 3 stars.

Scott Y.

Yelp
Top food destination in Breckenridge. Truly amazing experience. The gravy cured my wife's altitude sickness. 10/10. We loved the tasting menu. Service - 10 & ambiance - 10.

Yelp
We ate dinner here a couple night ago and ordered 4 items off their Happy Hour menu: Korean Fried Chicken, Wedge Salad, a Hamburger, and fried Cauliflower. The Korean Fried Chicken was a huge disappointment. The sauce they had on it did not taste good. It was way too vinegary. And they added pickled onions that seemed to be soaked in vinegar. On top of this the chicken was lukewarm, like it had been cooked maybe half an hour previously. The cauliflower was similarly lukewarm. The flavor was ok, but not great. They served it with a white dipping sauce that I hoped would be very tasty to dip the cauliflower in, but it didn't hit the mark. The hamburger was very good and they nailed cooking the fries. I enjoyed the wedge salad, but my husband thought it was just ok. He felt the lettuce was a little wilted and he pointed out that the bacon pieces had no flavor on their own and he could only taste the chili powder it was dredged in. Also the salad had the same pickled onions on it that we didn't like on the Korean fried chicken. I wonder if they serve their older food to Happy Hour orders to get rid of it? We had planned to order dessert, but we were worried we wouldn't like it after tasting the food. So we skipped dessert.

Yelp
We made a reservation for happy hour in advance because we didn't want to miss out on the opportunity to try Breckenridge's best happy hour. But we're grateful for their flexibility in adding an additional member to the reservation. Service was super friendly, prompt, etc. everything you could ask for. Their cocktails on happy hour are also a great deal, but we also dabbled onto the full priced cocktail menu which had some really good cocktails. For food, highlights were the cauliflower, polenta, Korean fried chicken, hamachi crudo. Unfortunately, we didn't love the pork belly and all we got was fat. Looking at photos, i wonder if we just got a bad cut since the photos seem like that shouldn't be the case. The items with the pork belly was good which is why it was even more disappointing cause it had all the potential. We'll definitely tell friends to come to Aurum for HH but we may caution against the pork belly.
google avatar

Cindy L.

Yelp
As many noted, this is a great happy hour place in Breckenridge. A lot of happy hour places just cut the portion to half and call it a day but Aurum actually gives you full size portions which is great. We really enjoyed the polenta, cauliflower, crudo, burger, and cocktails. The crudo is spicy but man the seasoning on that is awesome. To be completely honest, we had high hopes for the pork belly but our entire plate was just fat. That was pretty disappointing to be honest. The Cesar salad and house rolls were also underwhelming so recommend skipping that part of HH. Cocktails were really good as well, and such a great deal on HH. Are you getting the trend that they have an amazing HH?? The sad part was we were too full for dessert but i really wanted to try the cookies. Guess we'll just have to return. Otherwise kind service and a really nice interior. Great vibes for any occasion.

Brenda C.

Yelp
Very disappointed, not the usual fare. Had the duck, tiny and dry. Served over a bed of inedible, hard barely-cooked brussel sprouts in a weird, sweet sauce/thing. $58!!! Service was great though!

Yelp
Came to this place for happy hour on a Friday evening and showed up right around 4:30. Grabbed the last few seats at the bar. Service was amazing, vibes were great and food was amazing. Happy hour was 4-6 and enjoyable to say the least. Patio dining would have been great if we had planned ahead or perhaps gotten there right when they opened. Bar was incredible though and had a great ambience. Can't wait to return next trip to Breck!

Yelp
My wife and I came in this last Sunday evening around 5:15, and we were lucky to have been seated at the bar after only waiting for about 10 minutes. The hostess said they didn't have any tables available until 8:45, so make reservations if you can. Aurum has a decent happy hour menu, which we took advantage of. We got the rolls (which were small but only $5 on HH) and the Bibb wedge salad. The rolls were warm and the salad was fantastic. The portion size was good and it had a lot of toppings for the HH price of $8. We tried the Aurum choose your own smash, and followed with the Mountain Thyme cocktail which was perfectly balanced and tasted amazing. Amy, don't take it off the menu!!! My wife got one with mezcal and tequila that she also really enjoyed but I can't recall the name of it. We shared the culotte steak which was cooked nicely (medium rare), and the vegetables and whipped potatoes that came with it were nice as well. Finished with the fat Elvis for dessert, and I'm gonna need Aurum to package this peanut butter mousse because ya girl is obsessed! The cake part of this dessert was slightly dry, but the berry sauce and peanut butter mousse helped moisten it a bit. The flavor profile was great, can't go wrong with classic PB, chocolate, and banana! Service was lovely at the bar and the bartenders were friendly and attentive. I highly recommend Aurum for a wonderful apres-ski dining experience, but suggest reservations at this small gem of a spot! Will gladly return next time I'm in Breck!

Yelp
Restaurant in Breckenridge with great decor from the details in the wall , dim lighting to the little thing they put the bill in. At the end .I showed up with a group of 9 last minute and Cherie was our server , she was amazing , she knew everything about the menus , was cognizant of every potential allergy , and she was very nice , we enjoyed our drinks , which we ordered during happy hour and Sidney was also great as well and we were accommodated very nicely . I would suggest the chicken entree! 10 out of 10 !

Yelp
Food was fanatic- staff was perfect!! When we arrived we were seated right away! We had some super great drinks as well. The environment was just great

Yelp
Great atmosphere and mouthwatering food! The trout was hands down the best 'catch of the day' meal I've had in Breck! The fried cauliflower was delicious as well! Service was friendly and fast. This might be my new must stop by spot when I'm in town. Will be back!

Marty H.

Yelp
Might be Breck'a best happy hour! Make sure you arrive early, often most if not all seats are taken at 4. Excellent value at happy hour, always great service. Whether indoors or out- great vibe. They tend to have a rotating burger on happy hour- this summers was a French onion burger- a bit sweet for me, but excellent.
google avatar

Rebecca N.

Yelp
Red blend at the end of an amazing day in Breckenridge. Cannot wait to try the food! Fam here to visit. Looked for trout and cannot wait to let y'all know how incredible it is!

Yelp
While I do recommend this restaurant overall, I would advise AGAINST the 5 course food tasting and wine pairing. Half of our 10 person table had the food tasting and the other half ordered entrees. While most of the food and wine pairings were good, the entire tasting took over 3 hours to complete. While the other side of the table was getting main courses we were still waiting for our salads which were second courses, and it's hard to appreciate a small serving of food when it takes that long to get to you. (Disclaimer: we were warned about a time discrepancy between a regular menu order and the tasting, but the difference was too wide to be unnoticed). Because of how long the food took to get to us, my urge to eat overcame my desire to take pictures of the food. On the other hand, the other side of the table's regular menu items were great! The Korean chicken and cauliflower menu items you see featured were just as good as you would hope. I think this restaurant is out of their depth with a food tasting. Our bill came out to $169 before tip per person which included a "kitchen appreciation fee" of $4 and that just feels like a hidden fee. I would have rather ordered 6 appetizers and a few glasses of wine here.

Yelp
Had a fantastic experience for happy hour tonight. The server, Carmen, gave great recommendations and everything was excellent.

Evan W.

Yelp
We went for Aprés happy hour, which lasts until 6. Most in Breck end at 5, so this was great! Atmosphere and service were outstanding. Felt immediately welcomed by the hostess and the manager. The servers were very friendly and enthusiastic as well. My girlfriend and I both got bourbon smashes with the seasonal fruit, which was pear, vanilla, and cardamom. So good that we both got another! For food we ordered the happy hour cauliflower and Korean chicken. Both were excellent. The cauliflower converted her to a cauliflower believer! We set at the "community table" and had the pleasure of great conversations with two different local pairs. Would come back again and again
google avatar

Cassie K.

Yelp
We joined Aurum for their 5-course tasting menu on NYE and were super impressed! Although it came with a hefty price tag, the quality of the food and pairings was exquisite! I was also impressed when they were able to accommodate my tree nut allergy with almost every dish, and easily substituted the one dish I was not able to eat. My favorite dish was way outside of my comfort zone - but seared ahi tuna with a pea purée and wasabi foam just couldn't be beat during this menu. The service was exceptional, as expected with the quality of food and pricing. The ambiance was nice to boot, although their seating area felt pretty tight when it was packed for NYE. Make sure you make reservations as their dining area is not super large. You won't regret it for a special occasion or fancy date night out.

Yelp
We came back here twice on our sister Colorado trip! The food and drinks were delicious! Make a reservation if you can because we did have to wait a bit and finally got a seat at the bar both times. Well worth the wait either way!!!

Lili P.

Yelp
Our best meal in breck! The cauliflower is amazing! And this was the best wedge salad I've ever had!

Yelp
The worker named Stewart was very rude to my peers. Stewart was accusing her of being intoxicated and aggressive. Stewart then proceeded to be racist to get by calling her Hispanic because she was "too loud".

Yelp
Wow. I am so happy we snagged the last reservation on OpenTable for this place when we visited Breck. But don't risk a last minute reservation here like I did. This place is popular. And for good reason. The service was fantastic. And the food delicious. Definitely get the rolls. Not pictured because I gobbled them up so quickly. The Korean tartare was also very, very good. And the cocktails were unique and delicious too. I got something with gin and tequila in it, which I was skeptical about. But my drink was amazing. Although the place was hopping, the server took her time with us to answer all our questions and go through the menu. And the hostess took the time to greet us when we arrived and chat about our experience on the way out. Definitely plan to check out this place if you visit Breck.

Yelp
Food is very good. Ambiance is super unique and tasteful. Service was grand. Certain dishes were a bit ok but some were very flavorful. Would return.

Yelp
Wow, what a nice dining experience. We arrived early for our reservation and met James who said he was "Johnny on the spot" and would get us a drink while we waited. Turns out, James is the General manager, an affable, hands-on restaurant pro whose knowledge of wine, cocktails, beer, and the restaurant business is impressive. The bar is impressive as well and James looked up and concocted a cocktail that was not well known, but requested by the ladies. The bartenders made their magic drinks for sure. Once we got to our table, Carmyn was a gem of a server, helpful, knowledgeable, efficient and friendly. Food was over the top delicious. Korean Fried Chicken was delicious, crunchy, spicy hot - yumm. The Hamachi crudo was perfection in an appetizer, with citrus and peppers. The fried curried cauliflower crunchy and tasty. The roasted duck came with full vegetable sides. Rarely does a (good) restaurant provide such a variety of potatoes, broccoli rabe, arugula, roasted carrots and pomegranate seeds--it was so welcome and delicious. I sent my thanks to the chef for his expertise. Wine list is impressive, both by the bottle as well as by the glass. Absolutely beautiful modern and tasteful décor. Low noise levels. Thanks again to James, Carmyn and Chef for making this Breckenridge dining experience very memorable and certainly enjoyable.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and service, food is elevated especially in Breckinridge. Very cute and aesthetically pleasing so if you are having a girls night it's perfect. Went once for a bachelorette party and they were very accommodating and wonderful. Also, best espresso martini I've ever had!

Yelp
On Valentines night our waiter, John, was so pretentious with every interaction.. it left our table in awe. He rolled his eyes when my wife asked for a wedge with croutons and ranch dressing. He scowled when she piped up again & asked nicely for no blue cheese. We were constantly having to ask for refills (when the glass is completely empty) on water and drinks. While delivering our food he spilled sauce on the table, looked, shrugged, didn't bother cleaning it or even saying an "excuse me" or "sorry about that." The cherry on top was the attitude and smugness that he wanted to direct towards us when we asked if he could split the check. We were two separate couples choosing to sit at one table for Valentine's Day, yet somehow in this day in age where everything is plugged in to the POS system.. he wanted to respond with "I can split it right down the middle". With such a smug rude tone, absolutely baffled everyone at the table. You can mention that it's not the restaurants policy to be able todo this 100 different ways. It was clear we were his last table and was wanting to cut out early. Medium rare steak was more medium than rare, everything else was very good. The cookies were very tasty. The food is what is keeping this from being a 1 star. Also the kitchen appreciation? Just pay your employees better instead of needing to take such a minuscule percent from potential tip.

Yelp
Go for the drinks, but skip the food. Drinks: 5/5 - Espresso martini and hot toddy were the highlights. They do charge an extra $3.50 for neat pours which is fine, but should be mentioned. - Bar seating was full when we arrived. There were kids sitting there while we were waiting which was a little frustrating when we were trying to order drinks. Food: 2/5 - Burger: well-cooked but extremely oily/buttery - Cauliflower: very fried and bland; it really needed some kind of sauce - Hamachi: this was the best dish we tried - Mushroom soba noodles: very salty and lacked any kind of flavor - Short rib: Fatty and bland - Chef's pasta: came with one scallop even though our waitress said there would be two. The dish was tiny and nothing special. Service: 4/5 - Overall the service was good. They do add an additional kitchen surcharge (I believe 7%) which is again fine, but should be mentioned upfront.

Yelp
Horrible experience and as you can see the first time I enjoyed myself and food but this time I was in for a rude awaking Britney the sever was horrible she made what she thought was a funny comment about her own hitting my friends arm them stating free food mind you it was a large group of POC then after waiting over an hour for our food brittney never came back to check on us after we received our drinks or half of the appetizers because several were missed but she would have never known because she didn't check once I finally seen her I kindly asked how long until we would revive our food and she proceeded to have an attitude when explaining when the food was coming then we all decided based off the comments the attitudes and the lack of accountability or any apology from the bar manager the chef decided to walk past our tables stating we're not welcome back instead of coming over or just being kind it was our fault that we we had been waiting over an hour for food we were really looking forward to eating here we left hungry and upset based off of our service I hope the staff takes this as a learning lesson to be more kind to others especially their guest who simply just wanted and answer and grace to where our food was I will never come back here and I don't recommend this place at all be careful if you are a POC IF YOU WANT TO BE TREATED FAIRLY AND Attended TO THEN THIS ISNT the place !

Yelp
Happy hour here is a must! Recommend the burger. Service is top notch for normal service. We noted the music was a little loud in the back room and they happily turned it down for us. Cool sound diffusion built into the wall aesthetic! The dishes are great and recommend the tasting menu as it's a great way to truly enjoy the culinary mastery of Aurum and its kitchen.

Yelp
Date of visit January 18, 2025. I am 57 and survived living in a blended family with four teenagers. My husband and I attempted to visit Aurum earlier in the week for happy hour but didn't make it quite early enough so I jumped on line and made reservations for a few nights later. We arrived very early and really didn't need the reservation. The hostess was very nice and we opted to sit at the bar because this was what my husband wanted and normally I am fine with it. While Ana was getting water glasses I asked "Is your patio heated?" She looked at me like I was a two year old who had just entangled my wet lollipop in her freshly washed hair. She rolled her eyes and replied "We don't have a patio..". I simply said "I only ask because other reviewers have mentioned how nice it is to sit in the patio area." The gentleman working along side Ana in the bar quickly jumped in and pointed out the patio right beside the bar. For anyone interested it is a very small uncovered area that is clearly not four seasons. No one should ever have to ask again. I mention surviving four blended teens because that time conjures memories of the closest feeling I have to the eye rolling pretentious attitude of our server. I had worked hard to try this food so i didn't simply get up and leave. We ordered the goat feta polenta. I liked that they didn't feel the need to over salt the polenta and allowed the other flavors to stand out. It was an okay dish i didn't feel the need to try anything else and frankly i just wanted to leave. We ate half of the dish, paid the bill and left. Aurum is not a restaurant I will ever think about again. Based on the two stars it is clearly not a place I recommend. Like other reviewers i noticed the three percent add on. As others have stated let people know before receiving a bill randomly adding 3%. Post this in bold on your menu AND on your website. After reading a response to another review from the restaurant about this charge it is clearly important to the owners to help pay their employees benefits so be transparent and let us all know up front. I should have paid more attention to the lower reviews and I might have avoided this experience.

Yelp
I dined here recently, and the food is outstanding, but more so than the food was the absolute top notch service that Brittany provided us. She anticipated our groups needs and made several stellar recommendations. Couldn't have asked for a better dining experience and Brittany really made it special.

Yelp
Venue- the decor is classy they've done a real good job setting up their bar a beautiful aesthetic Service-Katie was extremely attentive never pushy always there when you needed her kind and quick nothing more you could ask for Food- The duck was a delight and the rue was a superb addition to a well seasoned plate. The Korean wings did leave something to be desired. Every element was there- dip, pickled vegetables. I just wished they were crispy with an audible crunch on the bite. Really easy to enjoy your food gluten and grain free here btw.

Yelp
This was definitely the best meal we ate while in Breckenridge. We celebrated a girlfriend's husband's birthday here in their yurt. It was super cold outside but inside the yurt was nice and cozy. Warm enough to take off our coats. The service though...top notch. Our server was Kristen. She was wonderful. Attentive but not overbearing. She had the best recommendations. We got the trout, the special that evening was a $160 steak so the birthday man got that..he enjoyed it. We also got the Brussels Sprouts, curry cauliflower and the fries. My girlfriend chose the stew. For dessert we got the chocolate chip cookies and the churros. The trout was delicious..crispy, flavorful and fresh. The Brussels sprouts were very tasty. The cauliflower was absolutely delicious..crispy and bursting with flavor. The stew was not a favorite as it was cold and the flavor was a bit mild. My husband loved the churros. Can I tell you those chocolate chip cookies though. Cookies seem like such a simple dessert why put it on a grown up dessert menu but they were Highly recommended by Kristen and she was so right. They were so good we went back the next evening for another order. My hubby and I shared our order but my girlfriend and her husband got their own order!!! I highly recommend this place!!

Yelp
If I could give zero stars I would , staff was extremely rude . We asked where our food was after being there for an hour in a half . The server walked away and went to Get one of the managers. The manager did nothing to address the situation and then wanted us to re give our order after ordering over an hour ago . We then heard the first server throwing pots and pans in the back and loudly talking about our table . Which made us extremely uncomfortable so we decided to pay for the appetizers and leave . The Cheff comes up and immediately yells at us for complaining to his staff instead of de-escalating the situation and to top it off we all Felt racially profiled. Which tends to be the trend out here , the Cheff and his staff dropped the ball on what would have been a 1000 plus dollar bill . Very disappointed in my return to this restaurant

Yelp
This place is top notch! Every dish is unique, deeply flavorful, and well plated. You can taste the quality and the ingredients which i really appreciate. To start, the Parker rolls are a must. I was also highly impressed by the Brussel sprouts and pork belly. We tried an array of entrees - pasta of the day, rabbit pot pie, mahi mahi, and a stew - everyone really enjoyed every bite. We all split the churro "cheesecake" for dessert - it was deconstructed which we thought was a little weird but it was still tasty. You have to stop here if you're in Breck (and definitely make a reservation in advance!)
