Austin Gourmet Popcorn

A niche experience, but I bought a pack of mushroom popcorn kernels. Cooked it thrice and I'm certain that I was sold a low quality butterfly popcorn. So, if you're planning on getting some of that, don't bother.

So glad to have a place here in Austin that can bring me back home (Chicago) with its amazing unique gourmet popcorn. With so many options, it took me a few samples to figure out what I wanted. I loved so many, I ended up getting 3 different kinds. I'm excited for the expansion here with fresh made fudge and caramel🎉 I can't wait to visit again and try more perfectly prepared popcorn. I used them for a popcorn bar at my wedding! Delicious popcorn with lots of variety. They offer great pricing for large quantities. Made payment easy so someone else could pick up and had everything ready on time. We use them at my work as well and they do a great job with every new project! Highly recommend and will use in the future!

Great stuff.... Try this place out. The staff is always so helpful and friendly. They have great suggestions based on your tastes. Always fresh and delicious. Have a bag for yourself or order for a party. They also have special order items for gifts. The deliciousness doesn't stop with popcorn or kettle corn. They also have drinks and tons of candy. Fun and deliciulois.

We ordered their popcorn for our wedding and it was a huge hit! Their was a small hiccup in our order but the owner was super nice and made sure we got what we needed. I highly recommend their popcorn for any occasion!

This is a unique popcorn & candy shop that we enjoy visiting. Owner is a huge Cowboys fan which is obviously a plus.

I ordered over 300 bags of popcorn from these folks for an event and it did not disappoint! The team was easy to work with, delivery was on-time, and the popcorn was incredible. I came to order popcorn and the person redirected me to another popcorn store, every colors I asked for the person seek to redirect me into going somewhere else or suggestive to come back couple months later.

Still my favorite yummy treat/snack. I got kettle corn and some taffy. My dentist is going to kill me. Going to be taking a little trip and wanted some snacks. Classic kettle corn is always a great choice. Some salt water taffy pieces in the flavors of green apple, cotton candy, orange cream, and grape. Smells so good when you walk in. I just like that popcorn smell. So much to look at when you come in. They have some old fashion candies, they have tin buckets for popcorn with all kinds of prints .they have gift boxes that are completely customizable. Great place for gifts.

We had seen the signs and passed by this store several times, we had meant to stop previously but never did for one reason or another so this time we just did so. They have a much bigger selection of products then I would have figured. Books on Texas and food, Candy both mass and local, mints, chapstick, tins, and Popcorn! There are the main flavors listed and they seem to have either monthly or seasonal offerings. There is a display of each bag size near the front filled with popcorn so you can see how much you get with the smallest to the biggest which is a nice touch. They have bulk candy and soda's as well. There is some neat and fun decor and a whole throwback vibe. It was a cool place to visit, glad we did. Chances are we will be back at some point, No other customers while we were there. The gentleman running the place was very nice and patient as we took our time looking over everything. My wife picked 4 types of popcorn and got small bags of each. I can't remember all that she picked but the ZILKER PARK was the best of the four. I would suggest checking this place out,

Ok, so first of all, I'll start with the most boring part of going to the store: Take the kids, take the teenagers, take your GEN-X gal pals... it's a WHOLE VIBE with the candy shop experience! They've got all the nostalgia you'll need to make you want to plan a slumber party or a fort campout. There are even these cute fishing line marshmallow roasting contraptions you'll not be able to leave without. Now, on to the best part. THE POPCORN!!! It's safe to say (in the voice of David Rose). I.AM.OBSESSED.WITH.THIS They've got Sooooo many flavors and I haven't even begun to crack the surface. Just made my third trip there for popcorn must haves and Im already thinking of what kind I'll get next. The size options are equally endless. They make cute snack sized bags you can ask them to personalize for you OR just get a bunch to put inside goody bags or out on tables at an event! I absolutely LOVE the "Austin Mix"! It's the perfect combo of the sweet and salty. Caramel and cheese mix. "Zilker Mix" is pretty yummy and perfect for someone with a hankerin' for chocolate. The caramel makes it a confectionery delight! Have kiddos to impress? Get the CUPCAKE flavor!! Holy Moly, it's a white chocolate sprinkle celebration for your taste buds! The S'mores is a fave with my kiddos too! We had the Garlic Parmesan last week for movie day at home and while I happily inhaled most of it, I'll add in that my husband thought it was a bit too buttery. If you pre-order they can make you any flavor. They've got special flavors each month that they highlight and it looked like more than a dozen freshly popped and curated flavors to choose from to go. You know, when you need that popcorn NOW! Enjoy!

I wasn't aware of AGP until I came across a review from one of my Yelp friends (thanks, Shannon G.). After seeing her many positive reviews and photos, I was determined to visit this place. I talked about AGP so much when I would go home that my mom got me a gift card for Christmas! I was finally able to stop by and try out this delicious popcorn on my trip home last month. Needless to say, I am hooked! If you love popcorn, you need to visit. From sweet to savory, they have all sorts of traditional and unique flavors. I sampled the Garlic Parmesan. It was heavy on the parmesan. Cheese popcorn isn't my favorite, so I didn't love this one. I ended up purchasing Dirty 6th which is a kettle corn made with hickory smoked sea salt and Extra Buttery. Dirty 6th was out of this world!! It was so good and unique with the hickory smoked sea salt! I will definitely be getting this flavor again! Extra Buttery wasn't bad, but it could have used a little bit of salt to kick it up a notch. They have quite a few sizes to choose from. I got a double of each which is the 2nd to smallest size. It's approximately 6 cups. In addition to popcorn, they have all sorts of sweets, treats, and confections. I ended up purchasing a couple of bags of Toni's Toffee. I got the Dark Chocolate Almond Toffee and it was soooo good!! The staff members were friendly and helpful with making suggestions on popcorn flavors. When we left the store, I realized that I forgot to use my gift card lol! I was distracted by all the deliciousness around me. At least I have a reason to come back on my next trip home.

I had no idea they had a physical location. All I knew is that I had one of their goodie bags at my work retreat and wound up eating it when back in Florida. This was a major regret if only because had I know how delicious this popcorn would be, I'd have gotten more! Well, no matter. I took a photo of my goodie bag and searched online to find that I could get their popcorn delivered personally to my home. They happily deliver nationwide. Woohoo. I can get my Austin mix, which is composed of white cheddar and sea salt caramel. Yum. I can also try other flavors, but I'll stick to the Austin mix, seeing as I ordered a tin for myself and a sampler of four different popcorn varieties to send out in a care package to France. Popcorn, unlike chocolate, doesn't spoil so easily. That and I just love this popcorn place so much that I couldn't resist. Did I mention I spent over $60 which gave me free shipping and am now anxiously waiting on the goods? Yes, I may have a new obsession.

Great candy selections. Sodas The clerks here were very friendly. They had popcorn flavors of the week. I went with garlic parmigiana. I tried it when I got home but had to toss it because it was stale. I'll try a sample first next time. Great gift ideas.

We ordered from Austin Gourmet Popcorn for our wedding favors. Their favor bags are very reasonably priced and the process of placing the order was simple. There were some issues with communication when it came to arranging a pick up or delivery time, but they ultimately got our order ready to go on time. Our guests were delighted with the popcorn.

Shorted me by $150 worth of product until I had to provide proof. Then had to wait another hour. Two days of hassle and $400. Owner didn't care. Lesson learned.

The WFH package was my last week present to myself this week and I must say, I nailed it! What a fun package to forget you sent yourself but to end up on your doorstep! You can save yourself $10 if you go pick it up at the store but if you want the convenience of not moving from your couch, delivery is clutch. I didn't get to choose the chocolate bar but that's just something that they throw in for fun so although it's not my personal flirty, it's still cute!

Not to be confused with Austin Powers Popcorn, which makes you scream YEAH BABY and gives you bad teeth, this company is Gourmet, which reflects that the Bush family will never run for another election, but Gore-may. It's pretty expensive and a lot of it tastes shelf-stable and some of the flaves are just disgusting. If you get one of the better ones, you're in luck, cuz it's actually pretty good. Depending on which kind you have. A lot of it is just crap is for hipsters and people with no taste - like if you think that cereal milk flavoured stuff is excellent. Other flavours are nice and for example the caramel type ones are good. I'm not a big fan of the chocolate they use on their popcorn, but it's the USA. There's no chocolate made here that's amazing and in fact there's hardly any that's even good. The prices are kind of high here as well. Having said all of that, it's really great to have a little local place making handmade popcorn small batches so I have to give them a good rating but I would raise them to 5 if they were a tiny bit cheaper and used slightly better chocolate - for example some of the imported Swiss chocolate is a lot better than whatever it is they're using here, but at least it's not as sh** as Hersheys.

Wow! I was looking for something fun and comforting for a zoom happy hour and stumbled onto Austin Gourmet Popcorn via Yelp petty much by accident. I ordered on line and the curbside pick up was fast and easy. Five stars for the Austin mix. Five for the friendly, helpful people. I'm looking forward to the time I can go into the store and leisurely sample all the interesting looking flavors

I love this place! It's great for getting your own snacks or for getting gifts! I gifted my work family an assortment of popcorn; Windy City, Dill Pickle and Jalapeño cheddar. All of them were awesome (my fave is Windy City)! I finally took my husband there and he loves the kettle corn. We also tried one of their flavors of the month, German Chocolate, and OMG talk about amazing. Whatever chocolate they use is delicious. Please give this place your business so it can stay! Also, the staff is always super nice and helpful and will let you try samples. They are grateful for any business.

My favorite popcorn shop in North Austin! If I'm coming into town and take Mopac I will usually detour to this location for their plethora of savory flavors which might be one of the most extensive around! You can sample prior to purchase and staff are always very helpful. While they have a lot more than just popcorn, that's all I've ever purchased because I can't get enough of it!

Stopped in the weekend before Christmas and brought home Extra Buttery, Cookies and Cream, Chocolate Peppermint (a seasonal flavor), and Caramel Pecan. They were all amazing! Best part, I have an extremely scary allergy to latex gloves and none is used in their shops! We'll definitely be back! The shop owners were super nice and so were all of the employees we had contact with.

The woman who helped me was absolutely amazing!! Very personable, very patient & VERY sweet she made the experience of buying popcorn all the more better & they are soo inexpensive!!! Definitely will be coming back!

Such nice staff and absolutely delicious popcorn. The premium flavors are a bit expensive, but taste so good. They do shipping of gift tins for you too. Also they have a pretty rocking candy shoppe. Highly recommended.

Yummy!!! Saw great reviews and always drive by so finally decided to swing by with my daughter and well.... she was a kid in a candy store! So many fun candies and sodas to choose from. The owner was super friendly and let us sample quit a few flavors of popcorn before I decided on jalapeño ranch (sooo good) and my daughter mixed cheddar and dill pickle! Surprisingly the dill pickle grew on me even though I thought it be gross haha. A tad pricey but worth the fun stop in once in awhile when looking for a new treat to try

Ok!! This is the BEST popcorn no ...I don't know what they're doing to it to achieve such wonderful flavors, but it's worth every calorie lol! My favorite flavors are the extra buttery and the cheddar. I think I may be addicted.

Every single flavor of popcorn I have tried so far has been phenomenally good. I highly recommend the Zilker Park mix and the Texas Barbecue. But so it seems you can't go wrong even if you just close your eyes and point to a flavor and say give me that one. I will be coming back to this place as long as they are open.

I had to write this. I normally receive gifts like this and am so disappointed as they never seem to be very good. But my sister sent us the Texas sampler popcorn big tin today and we just opened it and i can't stop eating it. All 3 flavors included are wonderful. My husband, daughter and I all said this is definitely something to bookmark to send to others and to buy again for ourselves. I am so impressed with the quality of the popcorn and the flavors. Not to mention the tin with the 2020 Yelp review logo is a keepsake from this awful 2020 covid pandemic year. I'm not sure how she even heard about them as this is a Austin, Texas company and she lives in Orlando, Florida. I'm going to find out.

Move over Tiff's Treats. Take a step aside Edible Arrangements. Nothing Bunt Cakes--you've got competition. Aside from becoming a personal addiction, this will be my go-to place for gifts and treats in the future. I am one hundred fifty percent IN LOVE with Austin Gourmet Popcorn. They opened in fall of 2015, but I've just not finally had a chance to visit their store. Love at first sight. Love at first smell. And, of course, love at first taste. This is a store that makes dozens upon dozens of homemade popcorn flavors. Think caramel coated in dark chocolate, white chocolate and sea salt. Think strawberry cheesecake. Think birthday cake. And for savory, think srirachi lime, consider dill pickle, and try to taste cajun. Extraordinary. So fresh, crisp, flavorful, and unique. You've never EVER had popcorn like this. And in addition to popcorn, they have shelves upon shelves of unique candy that you will not be able to find anywhere else in Austin (in addition to specialty sodas) (see my photos). And they will let you sample it all. The staff is as friendly and as helpful as they come. They have great recommendations and know their products well. They do amazing gift wrapping (see my photo). We didn't plan on it, but we ended up staying almost 30 minutes (time flies when you're having fun). They don't have delivery, but you would be crowned Queen or King if you used Favor or Postmates to have Austin Gourmet Popcorn at your next quarterly meeting, baby shower, or in your holiday gift basket. Oh, and are you thinking "I'm in South Austin, that's way too far." It's not. It's worth the drive.

Our whole family loves this place. They have *so* many flavors of popcorn, candy, and soda. My favorite popcorn is the Sweet Carolina Barbecue which is a kettle corn that perfectly blends sweet and savory together. Candy wise, the kiddos love the jelly beans while my favorites are the sea salt caramels and the dark chocolate chipolte almonds. The owners are very personable. As members of the community they have worked countless hours in service helping support the McNeil Band in the concession stands even after no longer having a kid in high school and they continue to show their support for the community they live in by offering popcorn tins and candy tins with the insignias and mascots of many local schools on them.

My friend and I decided to visit spontaneously on our lazy Saturday afternoon. We weren't expecting to get much, just to check it out but instead walked out with 4 bags of popcorn and 5 bags of candy. The customer service was fantastic, we were offered a lot of samples of popcorn and given suggestions based on our flavor preferences. My favorite of the day was the coconut curry and loaded baked potato. The popcorn tasted fresh and was consistently fluffy with great flavor I will definitely be returning here to show this place to visitors and friends :)

Was introduced to this place during ACL and loved it so much that I needed to check it out. You MUST try the dirty 6th! It's kettle corn with hickory smoked salt. It's wonderful! Also the tx bbq has a kick. Every kind of popcorn you could want is here. Along with lots of vintage candy and root beer. Such a cute place that I'm so happy to have found. Great for a sweet tooth and adventurous flavors.

We placed a large order with them for our wedding reception on Oct. 14. They provided us with an ample amount of samples, had our order ready on time, and loaned us a few metal serving tubs for the day of. I wish I could comment on the taste, but it was almost all eaten by the time I got to it! I heard it was excellent :). Would highly recommend!

Just tried Austin Popcorn for the first time and it exceeded my expectations! I'm so obsessed I bought a gallon of popcorn for my daughters teacher for teacher appreciation week, pink popcorn for my nieces and go back often for my favorite flavor "Dirty 6th". This popcorn is a sure hit and I love that it's owned and operated by a local family. They're so friendly and so helpful. There's a lot of options for popcorn but you won't find any as delicious as Austin Gourmet Popcorn!!

I LOVE this place! I've known of it for years but never needed to stop in before now. Of course, now that I've gone in, I'm hooked. Pros: -It's in no way just kettle corn, the shop is filled with rare and foreign candy, pick and mix, oh and a huge selection of M&M colors. -They have products from the South Austin Gallery, the company that makes the awesome Austin landmark coasters and glasses, perfect for gifts. -For $20 they have popcorn tins for any and every college or professional team. Seriously, they had a UNT one on full display and that's hard to find even in north Texas! -Their soda collection is FANTASTIC. There's a whole cooler filled with different kinds of root beer. -The flavors are varied between sweet and savory and they're mostly pretty awesome. -The popcorn prices are completely in reason -You can try any flavor popcorn you'd like Cons: -Some of their non popcorn prices are a little steep.

Whenever I have a popcorn craving this is my go to place. My fav is a mix of pimento cheddar with blue cheese. Btw, if you join their email you get coupons for freebies and a Birthday treat. Always great customer service! Thank you!!

Not sure what else can be said about this place except what I saw earlier - AWESOME!!!! Popcorn and candy selection out of bounds delicious and amazing. Customer service is always spot on perfect. I ordered popcorn for my wedding during cocktail hour. They were very helpful in helping decide flavors and quantity! We had about 230 people at the wedding and we only had leftovers to fill maybe the triple size. It went to fast! I picked it up the day before and it was still great and fresh in the hot Texas sun the next evening! Great hit!

I love this place! I highly recommend dill pickle for something savory, and when you have a sweet tooth go for the chocolate with Oreo cookies I forget the name they use.. or Zilker mix! They also offer rewards I received one for a free "single" size popcorn, but when I went they were closed.. I guess they are relocating just a few doors down!

I LOVED the kettle and zilker. They have a myriad of flavors and tons of candy/ soda. Feels like going into an old soda shop when you walk in. If you're a fan of fancy popcorn flavors, then definitely check these guys out.

I went to 4th Tap Brewery and found they sold this popcorn there. I got the Sea Salt Caramel popcorn (my fav) and it was delish. I noticed some people sitting at a table next to us with Dill Pickle flavored popcorn?! I have never in my life heard of that before!! The next day I looked up the name on the popcorn bag and found that have a physical location in Austin! I drove out there, the 3 girls working were so nice. The store is so cute. There are SO many options for popcorn - Yes you can sample - and they taste just like the description given. I got 3 flavors, Sea Salt/Zilker/Dirty 6th & will be returning for more :)

Oh my! I didn't know what to expect, but this place is awesome. Sort of a cross between the candy stores at the mall, an old general store with a hundred different soda varieties, and of course Garrett Popcorn Shops in Chicago. The employees and owner were all equally friendly and genuinely helpful. They even explained how some of their unique flavors are made (like The Zilker). They offered samples, and patiently explained how many different ways they could package the popcorn depending on my wants/needs. Same thing with the candies. I think I'm going to make it my goal to try one of each flavor soda. I'll have to report back on that one, and figure out how to keep track! My next two popcorn flavors are going to be Banana and Mango Chile Lime. In the meantime, I'm pretty happy with The Zilker.

Very nice folks and a whole slew of popcorn and jelly belly flavors! I saw no meat or Gluten products involved, so it should be great for the average vegetarian, gluten-free crowd. Even the "Sugar is Satan" crowd can find something in the popcorn choices. Regular BBQ chomping kinda folks? Well, you'd love this place too! It's got all those old style candies from way way back in the day!

This place is great. Popcorn, candy, neat sodas. My wife and I went in and took the kids. The staff was very generous with their time - and samples. We tried loads of stuff and picked out about 5 flavors. The owner, Scott, was there and was super nice, he even showed us around and told us all about how they pop and flavor the corn. I can see how some people might be turned off by the price. But they go have gourmet in the name. Its not like you are getting yesterday's stale stale flavacol movie theater popcorn. This stuff is pretty fancy. Prices seem in line with that expectation. I am sure we wont be going here weekly, but it's well worth it for an occasional trip to spice up movie night.

Went with the family, all 4 kids ages 4 thru 21 had fun picking things out! I went nuts and got three 6-packs of soda. Couldn't pull off one of each since there was so many different kids of root beer (and some other flavor sodas). Jelly Belly variety to be expected. However, I did NOT know so many other options existed for those cherry sour balls (harder candy chew outside, softer candy chew inside). The grapefruit once were surprisingly tasty. Also, all the different variety of popcorn was impressive. Store looked great! Clean and uncluttered. Once I found out which sodas are my favorite I'll need to pickup another 6 pack before we head back to Chicago.

The popcorn is so good here! Large and tasty pieces! We had the coupon for the free tin as a welcoming to the neighborhood so we decided to try it out. The caramel and kettle corn are so good! The white cheddar isn't too bad either. Service was really fast and friendly.

This place is awesome. I didn't even know they were here until I started looking for candy stores. Perfect place to come for a party or anything. I'm shopping for a baby shower and they had all the colors and everything I needed. The gentleman helping me was awesome. I will definitely be back.

I bought the large Buttery Popcorn and its the most tasteless popcorn I've ever had. There soggy tasting pieces throughout the bag. Thinking I should have sampled first but thought its butter it has to be good. Zero salt.

The Caramel almond popcorn is amazing. The staff is very willing to provide samples of any of their flavors. You always feel better leaving the store than when you came. Popcorn therapy.

I was a first timer, with my two girls. They patiently shared tastes, interacted with my girls and shared their story. I felt like I had a play date after I had finished, and I loved their popcorn. Personal flavor discoveries that I would recommend: dirty 6th, dill pickle and Sriracha lime While I do love curry, the coconut Curry was not a favorite. I will be back.

Wow Wow wow! This place is incredible, the options, variety and flavors are unique and delicious. One flavor that shows the wilder side of their robust flavor selection is the Sweet Coconut Curry Powder Popcorn (definitely recommend). This family oriented business is very warm and welcoming and run by a great team of professional entrepreneurs who obviously care about their customers. My wife and i visited for the first time last weekend and the store was packed for a rainy afternoon. If you are a popcorn lover, then this is a must see!

I noticed this shop when I was in the area and I love popcorn. As soon as you walk in your are greeted, they stop what they're doing and say hello. There's lots of candies make you eyes go bug eye and a lot of popcorn flavor to choose from that they make fresh and you can try a sample before buying a flavor you're unsure about. It's a family business and that's a big plus! I bought a few bags for a gift and a couple for me. Of course I got the original popcorn and Sea Salt Caramel for myself and it was good. The original popcorn didn't taste like popcorn you'd get from the theater, it was really light and it had the right amount of salt.

This place is great! We just popped in and they have a huge selection of both popcorn and candy. Great place for party and gift tins. They were incredibly nice and helpful. We will definitely be back.
