My son had cavity filling procedure along with some covered tooth tissue removed by Dr Lucas. The procedure went through very well. Thanks for Dr Lucas’ rich experiences! Dr Lucas is very patient and explained the procedure in details before it started. She answered questions I had and let us felt that we were in good hands. Her communication skill is great which made my son less nervous during the procedure. Her assistant Abby is very sweet and thoughtful. Front desk is nice and professional. I highly recommend Dr Lucas and Austin Pediatric Dentistry. We had great experiences there.

Dr. Lucas and all of the staff are so genuine and helpful! Our kids have a lot of crowns from other dentists and I was at my wit’s end with dentistry and feeling really defeated. We were told that my son had an infection in his tooth and it needed to be pulled so I came for a second opinion. Dr. Lucas explained so much to me in a kind and respectful way and I am forever grateful! We walked away with good news and even compliments—something I haven’t received from a dentist in a long time! I felt seen and heard and that my kiddos are in capable hands. Y’all just got two new patients! Thank you!

Hands down the best dental office a kiddo could go. All these 5 star reviews are real. The staff are amazing people. From front desk, to dental assistant to dentists. 5/5. Let your kid experience it. It's worth the drive and $.

Google
Dr. Lucas and her team are top notch. We were initially referred for my oldest daughter (12) who had a tongue tie that had to be released. She was amazing and everyone so friendly. We began taking my youngest daughter (now 5) when she was almost 3. Everyone there is consistently caring, knowledgeable, kind, happy, and genuine. You feel good and comforted knowing you made the right choices for your child when you walk into this office. Plus, they have great kid stuff (two story play house and floor game projector) to keep the kiddos occupied while you wait!

We couldn’t be happier with Dr. Lucas and the entire team at Austin Pediatric Dentist! Dr. Lucas is incredibly warm, patient, and thoughtful in her approach. She took the time to truly consider my son's needs while also respecting our preferences. I really appreciate her minimalist approach, ensuring that decisions were made carefully without jumping to drastic measures unnecessarily. The office staff is amazing—they’re some of the friendliest, most patient, and accommodating people we’ve ever encountered. When we had an emergency, they went above and beyond to get us in quickly, alleviating so much stress in a tough situation. The option to communicate quickly by sending photos through text message is incredibly convenient and has made a world of difference for us. It’s clear that the team prioritized our child’s comfort above all else. After my two-year-old’s procedure, they even messaged me personally to check in and make sure he was doing okay! This is the perfect dental office for families who want excellent, personalized care in a supportive and understanding environment. Highly recommend!

Google
My children cheered when I told them it was time for their dental check-up. Cheered and started dancing, can you believe that!! They love going here. There are games before, and they can watch a show while they are having their teeth cleaned, and get prizes after. Also the dentist and techs all listen and support the child and parent. One of my kids is autistic and it's a bit hard for him but they make it so much better for him, and the other kid enjoys talking to her tech and being respected. Love being able to take both my children at once and that I am right next to both of them at the same time!

Google
We were referred here by our normal practice for a procedure which we weren’t looking forward to, and what a blessing in disguise it was! Everything was great from the super friendly staff that greeted us, to the interactive kid friendly waiting room, to the super kind professionals that made our procedure a breeze, to the checkout experience complete with goodies for the kids. It made our experience pleasant and a breeze. We will definitely be moving all of our kids to this practice!!

My kids have gone here for years and not only. Are they amazing people. They actually love what they do, and I have never had a poor experience. They go above, and beyond for each and every patient we love going to the dentist!😃

Yelp
We were referred to Dr. Lucas by our lactation consultant. I really liked Dr. Lucas because she is conservative in her assessment for lip and tongue releases. She said our baby has both lip and tongue tie, but they're not severe enough for surgery. Her reasoning is that he's already latching, feeding, and gaining weight really well. Any surgery or change could cause a setback in his feeding in relearning how to latch and suck. I highly recommend Dr. Lucas for a consult, even if you're not sure what the benefits are.

Yelp
This was one the worst experiences I've ever had. Took daughter to get a tongue tie procedure. They never let us know that they were out of network for all insurance providers and dental providers. This was only told once we were back for procedure and evaluation. Felt like I was at a scummy car dealership. With a child under 2 months old this is very inconvenient and a total waste of time.

Mollie D.

Yelp
We had frenectomys done here for both of our kids. It's very quick. We had to pay out of pocket both times and I appreciated the clear pricing. There were no surprises. They also take Care Credit if you have that. Our first daughter screamed the whole time, second daughter didn't make a peep. I think the experience comes down to your kiddos temperament more than anything else. The doctor was very gentle and kind both times.

Yelp
Long story short: do yourself and your child a favor and just bring them here! Most amazing stress-free dentist visit ever! Longer version: I have two children age 1 and 5. I scheduled the 1 year old to visit a day before my 5 year old, just to see how things go and what I could do to prepare the older child. When I checked in at front desk on both days, they knew exactly who I was bringing in when I said my daughter's first name, I didn't even get to say their last name. It's like they are well prepared and already went over who's coming in, this is small but sure made us feel welcomed. There's no holding a clipboard or flipping pages to fill out patient information as everything was done on iPad. Super important as I may need to hold my baby if she gets anxious. Also, the waiting area has power outlet plugs to avoid little hands being too curious. The play area is fun and cool. You know they took the time and thought everything through. Now on the major show, on our first day with my 1 year old, Brittany, the champion of the day, explained everything in details. She was extremely patient, helpful, cheerful, and so understanding of how nervous my 5 year old could be. The 1 year old did quite well for her visit and got a teething toy and a goodie bag that her sister will later see at home. The goodies created positive anticipation, and big sis wanted one too. Brittany gave us gloves and mirrors for us to play and practice at home, and we sure did. The next day, big sis already knew the drill. She was looking forward to playing at the play area, and excited that she got to see a movie while getting her teeth checked. This time, Emily was our star of the day. Her sweet voice, smiles, making sure big sis knew what was being done, getting consent before actually starting every procedure, encouraging big sis to get pictures of her teeth (x-ray). And I forgot to ask the lady who helped with X-ray but thank you for cheering! All these made our trip so wonderful. Dr. Lucas is caring, professional, and pays great attention to both my girls. She looked carefully at big sis's x-ray, explained how things are the way they are, and her recommendation. Dr. Lucas is great with little ones and remembered to tell me to praise my girl at home for sitting on the big kid chair. Thank you so much. Thank you all for taking good care of one little human at a time. We appreciate Austin Pediatric Dentistry so much!

Yelp
We got our twins tongue ties revised here 5 years ago and also our daughter got a cavity filled with no numbing on a front tooth when she was 2. We tried to find another practice closer to us and dentist shopped for months trying to find a good option to get my daughter some extractions done for two teeth that had progressed. I will say we came here and saw the other dentist (I can't remember her name, instead of dr Lucas who we saw before) and my daughter was 5 and had major anxiety as we attempted to get some fillings done. It was all on my daughter, she wouldn't cooperate. Which is why the teeth ended up progressing. After this we found Dr Jenny Smiles (another practice) who does conscious sedation. We are self pay and it was very expensive but it's the only way my daughter was comfortable with the work they did. It went well but when I took my 5 yr old twins in they suggested 8 cavities for one and 4 for the other and it was going to cost nearly 5k! So we came back to this practice and they decided one twin had 6 cavities and the other had 4 (albeit they're between teeth which is why they're called 4 instead of 2 since teeth touch) They didn't have to numb, my daughter (7) even had a few cavities filled here and was completely comfortable despite nerves. Dr Lucas was SO fast she got all my twins teeth fixed in two visits so as not to overwhelm him and he did fantastic. And so did my daughter. It does cost a lot (less than Jenny smiles since she charges for sedation) despite the discount for self pay but they take care credit. But the care you receive here especially no numbing shots I will pay for! Dr Lucas is incredible she's so smart so fast and so sweet. The kids love her. And so do I cause I have kids without cavities now. dr Lucas did not shame me for nursing but said that's probably what caused the cavities is eating carbs and nursing simultaneously. So thankful for this place- there really is no other dentist that compares to them. The no numbing laser is a God send! I wish they'd work on me. Thank you Dr Lucas!

Yelp
The customer service by both the doctor and the staff, the cleanliness and beauty of the space, and the professionalism of the service make the spot worth checking out. I was referred to this practice due to a posterior tongue tie for my newborn daughter. She is seven weeks old, and I was running myself ragged trying to do all the many things in order to increase my milk supply. The folks at La Leche League identified some two-tone coloring to her lips, and speculated that she might have a posterior tongue tie. I was able to make an appointment for the next week easily, as there's an actual person who picks up the phone when you call this establishment. In fact, I was able to speak to an actual human being when I called the day of my appointment for let them know I was running late. That seems to be an increasing rarity in the medical field. There are signs near the parking lot that meet you towards the office space. This is one of the initial demonstrations of attention to detail that I noticed, and appreciated. All the staff were attentive, welcoming, and professional. I was greeted right away by both receptionists, and was taken to the back within one minute of my tardy appearance. The folks who dealt with explaining the procedure, and also the billing, were super friendly and accommodating. They moved my car seat for me and went over the charges with transparency and kindness. This practice is not covered in network by my insurance, so we ended up paying the $511 out of pocket. But, the alacrity of the procedure, plus the ability to use lasers instead of scissors for my daughter's comfort, and the fact that this practice does the procedure all the time, made me feel like this was very worthwhile and a good use my money. Final notes: There was a space in the practice for nursing immediately post procedure, and the bathroom had a changing table with all the amenities. I can see why so many people like this practice and recommend it highly.

Yelp
This place was recommended to us by my doula to get a tongue tie consult for my daughter. We did the treatment and it cost about $500 to do. My decision was primarily based on the pain caused while she was feeding, and the feeding was much easier and less painful once the tongue tie was gone and my nipples had a chance to heal. If you have any discomfort during breastfeeding and you think it could be because of tongue or lip tie, highly recommend you get a consultation! Pros: * Everyone in the office is super friendly! * The tongue tie laser removal process was fast * There's a mother's room they offer to you afterwards if you'd like to feed your baby post-treatment Cons: * It was very apparent that my daughter had a tongue tie but they still charge for consult, though it only took a few seconds before determining she did, and I agreed to the treatment * In the paperwork that you sign ahead of time, it says they will submit to insurance on your behalf but they actually will not * The paperwork says there will be a two week checkup but this didn't happen, the only follow up was a generic text that was sent a day later

Yelp
We saw Dr. Lucas for my son's lip and tongue tie procedure. I'll piggy back on a previous review and say that Dr. Lucas and staff are great, but there are some cons to visiting this office. For the positives: the staff is so friendly, patient, and caring. The procedure was very quick, and Dr. Lucas and staff were so great with my son. They also fully explained all guidelines to follow after his procedure. There's a private room to breastfeed after the procedure is completed. Like the other reviewer stated, the paperwork says there will be a two week follow up. They checked in through text after to see how was doing, and Dr. Lucas called me directly to talk me through some concerns I had, but there was no two week appt made. I was told he could come in two weeks later if I wanted him to be checked but it wasn't mandatory. This didn't really bother me, but the office should update their paperwork to reflect this. I'm giving this office three stars based on how Dr. Lucas operates in terms of processing insurance... because she doesn't. Procedures are paid for in full and the parent/guardian must file the claim through insurance themselves in order to be reimbursed. Seemed simple at the time, but it has turned into an on-going battle that I have yet to resolve (which is another review for another time). The office provides all of the paperwork but will not submit it for the patient. In my new mom haze, I didn't even think about how difficult this would be, and I didn't realize that this procedure would be processed as out-of-network due to this office's setup. I don't remember this being directly pointed out besides in an email attachment that listed a few questions to ask insurance. Yes, it's my fault that I didn't double check, but I'm annoyed that this wasn't more clearly discussed beforehand. It definitely would have affected my decision to have Dr. Lucas correct his tongue tie. Overall, it's unfortunate that she has decided not to process insurance for her patients. I would love to bring my son back to her, but I cannot deal with this everytime he needs to go to the dentist.

Yelp
We love Dr. Lucas and all her staff! Everyone is so kind and warm and amazing with kids. And the lobby is so fun I try to get there early so my son can play in the playhouse and with the virtual floor. We first visited when my son was 3 days old and our pediatrician noticed his lip and tongue tie. They were able to get us in the same day. The procedure was explained thoroughly to us and his nursing improved immediately after! Even though it's far from us I still take my son there for his biannual checkups. Everyone makes him feel so comfortable and explains any procedures and what to expect/look for to me.

Yelp
I can not say enough good things about Dr. Lucas and her staff. I brought my 3 month old son in after having a lot of issues nursing and suspecting a tongue tie. I was having excruciating pain nursing on one side. It was to the point where I would almost vomit from the pain. I did a lot of research about whether to take him to an ENT or to a pediatric dentist. I determined the dentist would be best because they could use a laser. And upon further research I found that Dr Lucas was THE person to take him to. So I brought my son to Dr. Lucas. She took a look and said he certainly has a tongue tie, but it wasn't a bad one. She said surgery wasn't a must, but she said that it might help with the issues I was having. I was so torn about doing the surgery. I asked them to give me some time to decide and make a few calls. I had driven an hour thirty to get there so I wanted some time to decide in office. After 45 minutes of thinking it over and calling my husband, I decided to proceed with the surgery. I was so sad watching him get strapped down and his little safety goggles put on while he was screaming. It was heart breaking. But they assured me everything was gonna go smoothly and the procedure would be extremely quick. I left the room and within a minute someone came to get me and told me it was over. I couldn't help but laugh while I was regaining my composure because he was trying to figure out how to use the new range of motion with his tongue. They have a small nursing room and I immediately went to nurse him since he was very hungry. I had IMMEDIATE relief on the side that had been painful for me. It took a few days to retrain him how to nurse, but I was finally pain free and he was finally happy nursing.

Yelp
We had the most amazing experience at Austin Pediatric Dentistry and my only regret is that we didn't go sooner to have my son evaluated for a tongue tie. If you think your nursing relationship is being impacted in any way by a tongue tie, call NOW and make an appointment to have Dr. Lucas do an evaluation. There was no pressure to do the procedure, and it was only recommended after visual confirmation with a special camera and showing us what the tongue would like without the tie. When he was born, our doula immediately pointed it out and said to keep an eye out for any issues breastfeeding. Our third day in the hospital, the pediatrician who was on call said "I don't know why people make such a big deal about tongue ties. I've been practicing for over 30 years and no one used to care". So, I dismissed the terrible pain and assumed I was doing something wrong. Doctors know best right? She said that even after seeing where I was already scabbing over... Unfortunately this set me home planning to "tough it out". It took days of me fighting back tears every two hours when my son would nurse before I finally called an IBCLC who immediately referred us here. Back to APD, everyone was extremely caring and friendly from the office schedulers and staff to the assistants and doctor Lucas of course. The facility is gorgeous and my 10 year old step-daughter loved coming to the visit and playing in the lobby. As a newborn we had issues with the insurance claim and their office stayed on it for MONTHS trying to get it covered. The procedure itself took literally seconds and nursing was immediately improved. I can't tell you enough what a difference this made in my life and I just wish I had gone sooner... thank you Dr. Lucas and APD!

Yelp
We were referred to a pediatric dentist for the possibility of lip or tongue tie. From the front office to Dr. Lucas everyone was great here. The front office thoroughly explained everything to me and answered all my questions when I booked the appointment. They also very clearly let me know options to be able to file with insurance and sent me the codes same day. The visit way great, they gave me all the forms I needed for insurance as well. Now to the visit- Dr. Lucas was so quick which was great for my 2 week old. She took pictures so she could explain her findings to me. Turns out his lip was normal and his tongue tie was very minimal she didn't recommend him getting it cut. I really appreciated her honesty as I didn't want to do it unless it was 100% necessary. I would definitely recommend her!

Elena G.

Yelp
My child needed to have an extraction of baby teeth. It was not easy for her, partly due to previous experience with another pediatric dentist. This time everything went so different. Dr.Lucas was as professional and kind as everyone on the team. They were so genuine and compassionate, accompanied us to the car, after the procedure and followed by the phone calls. The extraction itself was clean and well done, with no pieces of broken roots or extensive bleeding.

Kristen E.

Yelp
Our experience here was great. We came in to have our 5 month olds tongue tie fixed and the office staff was very helpful from start to finish. They were very sweet with my baby and Dr Lucas checked up on him that night to see how he was doing. I would recommend them if you suspect your baby may have a tongue tie and we will be going back again for his first dental visit when he turns one. 8/16/17 Just had our 1yr dental visit, the hygienist was very nice and explained everything thoroughly. She was sweet with squirmy one year old and quickly polished his teeth. Dr Lucas was again very pleasant and checked on his tongue and teeth. Even though they aren't the closest to us, we plan to keep going there as they have a great set up and good demeanor with the very youngest of dental patients.

Jonathan H.

Yelp
Absolutely the highest quality place I have ever taken my kiddos. They have a fort for waiting. Yes a full blown playhouse/fort. Dr. Lucas is amazing, nice, and friendly. I would 100% recommend this place.

Briana R.

Yelp
We were referred to Dr. Lucas at Austin Pediatric Dentistry by our lactation consultant, Alyssa Goss at Milk Maven, for our newborn's tongue tie. We live in Pflugerville so the Dentist office was a bit of a hike, but we wanted to get a second opinion and go with the recommendation. We are very glad we did. From the front desk, to the dental staff, to Dr. Lucas herself...everyone is extremely professional, helpful and friendly. They go out of their way to make sure you are taken care of and all of your questions are answered. It can be quite scary to have to think about doing a procedure on your newborn and they made sure to explain everything in detail and make us feel comfortable. The procedure itself took no time at all. I am taking under 5 minutes! Our baby cried for all of 30 seconds. As far as the procedure goes, there is nothing to worry about! The harder part is doing the exercises at home a couple of times a day, just because it can be difficult getting your big, adult finger under your squirmy baby's tiny tongue. It is worth it though! The office is SO nice. I wish I had a dentist office like this when I was a kid. In the waiting room, there is a little play clubhouse and games projected on the floor that you play by stepping and dancing on. Super fun! Since we loved the staff, Dr. Lucas, the office and our overall experience, the drive means nothing to us! We will return to Dr. Lucas when our baby is old enough to start going to a dentist regularly.

Lori D.

Yelp
Dr. Lucas and her staff are incredible! We were referred to Dr. Lucas early on for a lip tie revision to help with nursing. She was knowledgeable, effecient, kind and the results were immediate. We ultimately chose to use a ped dentist closer to home for regular care...that wasn't our best decision. When our now 17 month old chipped/broke her 2 front teeth, the other dentist attempted to smooth the teeth twice with a file. All while my daughter squirmed and bucked in my lap. We are still nursing and it was incredibly painful due to the sharp edges of the broken teeth. The other dentist had said that aside from filing, nothing else could be done until she was 3 years old. Not wanting to have that dentist attempt to smooth the teeth for a third time, we called Dr. Lucas and scheduled an appointment there. Not only was she able to smooth the teeth out, she added some bonding material to protect the exposed dentin and we scheduled an appointment for next week to have the teeth bonded cosmetically; no sedation needed! Our other dentist had said that at age 3 we would need to use oral sedation and if that didn't work, use general anesthesia in order to make the teeth appear whole again. They were planning on crowning the teeth. Dr. Lucas explained that bonding is not only the option that she would choose for her own children, but it is much less costly and requires no sedation. One more thing: Dr. Lucas has a swaddle board that is much more effective. The young child is essentially swaddled to the board, rather than squirming and bucking in your lap. As you can imagine, this is much safer for this type of work. We have now decided that we will drive the 30-45 minutes out to the Lakeway area (we're in Pflugerville) for Dr. Lucas. She's certainly not local for us, but knowing that our daughter will get the best care is worth driving for.

Candace H.

Yelp
Absolutely OUTSTANDING experience with Dr. Lucas and her staff! I will break down why, but in essence, the tongue tie procedure was quick, their customer service outstanding, office clean, and personal follow-up went above and beyond my expectations. Attention breastfeeding moms!! To give a little bit of background information, my son was 2 months old at the time we got the procedure done. He was having green, explosive stools (tmi?), slow weight gain, never showed signs of being full or satisfied and wanted to breastfeed for 4-5 hours at a time. When I say I tried everything... I mean EVERYTHING. I was all over the kellymom and la leche league websites researching, talked to multiple pediatricians and lactation consultants, midwives, etc just trying to find a solution to our issues! Everyone was saying my concerns were invalid, it was an allergy issue, or just to give him formula and call it a day. When I asked about potentially getting his tongue tie fixed to these professionals, every single one of them said that it wouldn't fix any of the issues we were having, that tongue ties are a "myth" and not to waste our time worrying about it. I'm a first time mother, but something was telling me that tongue tie was the underlying root cause to all our problems. I researched and found that Dr. Lucas was one of the only specialists that could perform the procedure with a laser in our area and has had success with it. I called the office and informed them that I was in Houston and wanted a consultation and the procedure done the same day if Dr. Lucas thought it would help. The receptionist assured me that they would accommodate. When we got there, I felt at peace immediately. We filled out the forms and were seen right away. I told Dr. Lucas everything that was going on and she validated all my concerns, looked at my son's mouth, and said that he had one of the worst tongue ties she had ever seen! She was shocked we were able to breastfeed as long as we did! She said he had a lip tie too but she recommended we do the tongue first, and come back for the lip if our issues weren't fixed (shows that she isn't greedy for $$$). My husband stayed in for the procedure (I couldn't take seeing my baby in any type of discomfort) and I waited for 5 mins in the waiting room. Once done, I latched my baby to breastfeed right away. He was surprised he could move his tongue! I saw it on his face!! Now it's been a little over a month since the procedure and guess what? His green stools are gone! He's gained 4 lbs! That's about a pound a week! Guess he had some catching up to do. He's fuller for longer times in between his feedings and our feedings are now normal times! Latching him is no longer uncomfortable either!!!! ALL OF OUR PROBLEMS ARE FIXED AND BREASTFEEDING IS GOING GREAT!!!! Dr. Lucas texted me herself on our way back to Houston just to encourage us to reach out if we had questions or concerns. Her billing staff gave us paperwork to file for insurance reimbursement to prove that the procedure was medically necessary. Our experience was brilliant and I'm glad I came to Dr. Lucas instead of putting my baby on formula unnecessarily when our desire was to breastfeed. Now we can because of Dr. Lucas!!! THANK YOU DR. LUCAS!!! We will forever be grateful.

Emelia R.

Yelp
I went in today with my baby boy for a consult for his tongue tie. Dr.Lucas and her assistant were amazing. They made me feel at ease in regards to the whole procedure. All my questions and concerns regarding the procedure were addressed. Also they were able to preform the procedure the same day as well so i didn't have to come back again, which is super convenient during this whole covid pandemic. The office protocol regarding covid also made me feel safe taking a two week old to their office. I would highly recommend this office to anyone and will definitely be bringing him back once gets his first tooth! The 35min drive is well worth it!

Samantha E.

Yelp
I brought my daughter here at about 19 months as I noticed she had an upper lip tie that had become evident with the arrival of most of her teeth. Dr. Lucas was excellent - she examined her and went over the possible treatment options but gave her medical opinion that nothing should be done at the moment since she had successfully nursed for 18 months and it wasn't causing a problem and it is something we should just keep an eye on but not worry about. She was kind yet professional and competent. The office is wonderful too - the fun playhouse and front office play area are really neat. I will be bringing her back for regular dental care.

Heather S.

Yelp
Dr. Lucas and her staff are wonderful. We've been seeing her since our oldest was 10 days old for a tongue tie. Routine visits are great for the kids. Everyone is so sweet and kind. They're always on time and are even crazy accommodating in the case of emergencies!! Our oldest knocked out her front tooth in Mexico on vacation on a Sunday night and dr. Lucas was quick to return our call, calmed me down and gave me specific instructions. She looked at photos from my phone and helped us get through the rest of that trip. Then, 6 months later, our one year old fell and tore her frenulum and loosened her two front teeth and they took us in within 30 minutes of the call...

Le D.

Yelp
Amazing doctor and staff. I went there desperate for answers on why my baby wouldn't eat. Dr. Lucas and her staff were very informative and seriously the nicest people on the planet. We live in Pflugerville so they are not exactly convenient, but I will continue to make the drive just because they are that awesome.

Elizabeth W.

Yelp
Oh my gosh where do I even begin? The process from start to finish was the easiest doctors visit I've ever done. They have an awesome play area in the waiting room and movies they play while they clean teeth! My daughter still talks about trolls anytime I mention the dentist. My son who has Sensory Processing Disorder had a bit of a hard time but the dentists were wonderful working with him even had him sit on my lap and hold his head into her lap. The other places I've been the dentist get fed up and have literally walked away. Not her. Omg I cannot say enough great things. Serious.

Ashleigh L.

Yelp
We went to Dr. Lucas for the first time a few months ago. What a breath of fresh air Dr. Lucas and her staff were! Upon arrival my 3 yr. old and 7 yr old were quickly at ease with all the fun technology, as well as the friendly demeanor from the staff. They both had an exam and their teeth cleaned. I also loved how Dr. Lucas educated both of my kids on flossing and teeth brushing. At the end of the appointment the kids really loved to pick a toy out of their toy machine. So fun! It's not very often kids ask to go back to the dentist. My kids can't wait for our next teeth cleaning. Thank you Dr. Lucas! - A L

Yelp
My son's front two teeth grew out missing some enamel, which led to tooth decay. Two previous dentists wanted to sedate and cap his teeth, and didn't give us other options. I did not want to do that (I'm 36 and have never been under anesthesia - why would I risk that with my son who is 2?) and found this awesome place on Yelp. I am so glad I did! The entire staff is so great with children and my son actually let them clean his teeth! This place is wonderful and give parents options besides sedation. FULLY recommend :)

Yelp
My daughter loves Dr. Lucas and her entire team! Fabulous dentist for your children!

Yelp
Amazing! My children actually ask to go to the dentist! They love it here. There is an amazing game system in the waiting room that is easy enough for any kid to play but also fun! The staff are very friendly and try to maximize your time. Office staff are on top of it! All of the dental staff are amazing and helpful even with my little anxious one. The kids pick sunglasses and a movie to watch while they get their teeth cleaned. And of course get prizes at the end. Great job, guys!!

Yelp
Our son needed a frenectomy (release of tongue and lip ties) at 4 weeks old and they were so gentle and reassuring. They explained it all very clearly, were so nice and sweet with our baby, and helped us with the necessary exercises after his procedure. Our son went back for his one-year check-up and they were quick, friendly, and helped ease his trepidation. The entire staff and Dr. Lucan are outstanding, caring people. I cannot recommend APD highly enough. They are wonderful!

Yelp
My 6 week old was having issues latching and breastfeeding. We had seen a great lactation consultant who referred us to Dr. Lucas. She is amazing, warm friendly, honest and conservative. She was able to tell within a minute that my son had a severe tongue tie. Immediately following the procedure I could tell within seconds we were going to have a much easier time feeding. Two feeds later, we are doing so much better. Post op appointment is 10 days following procedure. I am so thankful, this post is only 3 hours after his appointment. The staff is friendly and caring and extremely thorough! Thank you so much! We are so happy.

Yelp
If you suspect your baby has a lip or tongue tie, I highly recommend Dr. Lucas! I met with a lactation consultant who suspected a tongue tie and referred us to Dr. Lucas. We were close to giving up on nursing, but I wanted to make sure I gave it my all. I called yesterday afternoon and got an appointment today for a consultation to evaluate my baby for a tongue tie. Once she confirmed the tongue tie, we were able to proceed with the laser procedure immediately. The procedure was very quick and we were able to nurse immediately after. My baby's latch was corrected right away! I'm so happy I went to Dr. Lucas when I did and thankful that I get to continue nursing my baby boy!

Yelp
Dr. Lucas and her staff are so warm and friendly and instantly put both the kids and the parents at ease. My kids are always asking me if they can go to the dentist just so they can play in the waiting room and watch the latest movies the iPads that hang above every chair. She makes you feel like the best mom in the world even when your kids leave with cavities. When my 4 year old barely even noticed when she had a cavity filled. We will be life time patients!

Yelp
So I just moved here from Dallas and was afraid our new pediatric dentist wouldn't be as wonderful as the one in Dallas. Wow Dr Lucas and her staff have totally won me over on our first visit! My daughter is 2 years old and she was so distracted by all the amazing stuff here she didn't even notice she had her teeth cleaned! You walk into the office and there is a massive play/tree house in the lobby as well as some light up floor projection thing (wish I knew the name!). My daughter loved playing in the lobby! I wish the wait was longer bc she has so much fun here lol-btw no wait! We went inside and the staff worker kept my daughter distracted with a different toy as my daughter had a very short attention span (toddlers!). She also put on her favorite show on tv. The staff worker never left my daughters side and kept her entertained our entire visit! Dr Lucas came and she was as friendly as everyone else on staff! Wonderful experience!

Yelp
I am a MOM OF TWO & FAMILY PHYSICIAN and I highly recommend this office. You will get state of the art care here with a personal touch. Dr. Lucas and her staff are great! They are professional, knowledgeable, patient, helpful, and very thoughtful. Her office is very child friendly. (It's actually difficult to get my 3 year old daughter to leave because she likes the playhouse, games, and prizes so much she thinks of it more like going to a kids play zone. She looks forward to going to the dentist's office!) My 8 week old son and I were struggling with tongue tie and it was adversely affecting breastfeeding. Dr. Lucas performed both upper lip and tongue frenectomies. She did a great job! There was an immediate difference in breastfeeding. My son healed up beautifully with great results cosmetically too. I highly recommend Dr. Lucas. Don't wait! Schedule your consultation as soon as you discover your baby is tongue tied. It will make breastfeeding easier on both of you and will help you continue to breastfeed as long as you care to.

Yelp
Saw Dr. Lucas to have my 6 wk old son examined for tongue tie and lip tie. I was able to get in for a same day appointment. The office is very nice and clean. All the staff were so friendly and helpful. I had to take my 18 month old daughter with us. The staff were great with her. They gave her a duck and ball that she got to take home with her. I ended up only needing to get his lip tie lasered. The procedure was fast and I was given instructions on how to keep it from reattaching. My son didn't seem to be in any pain after the procedure.

Yelp
Excellent experience. I took my 3.5 month old to see Dr. Lucas after the tongue and lip ties we had clipped at the ENT healed back together. The entire staff was welcoming, positive, and extremely friendly. The procedure went quickly and smoothly and I was able to nurse him immediately afterward. I sat there crying tears of relief and joy because I could not believe I was finally nursing my baby without any pain. I'm so grateful for such a positive experience and would recommend Dr. Lucas and her office to anyone.

Yelp
We were having serious latch issues with my 5 day old daughter. I nursed my son for over a year and knew something just wasn't right. One of our midwives suggested a consultation with Dr. Lucas. I was anxious and feeling a huge surge of hormonal emotions about getting the procedure. Everyone at the office was warm and friendly, and you can tell that they do this procedure a LOT! Dr. Lucas took one quick look and knew that there was a tongue tie. She took pictures of my daughters tongue and compared them to a normal or revised tongue. I appreciated the clear visual and comparison. The procedure was so quick, and my daughter really hasn't shown any signs of discomfort. She is not a fan of the post care.. we have to put our index finger under her tongue and rub for 30 seconds, 4 times a day. Other than that, it has been so easy. Most importantly, our latch issues are 100% better! I am healing quickly and nursing with little to no pain! I would recommend Dr. Lucas to anyone who suspects some sort of lip or tongue tie.

Yelp
We took our 10 day old son to get his tongue tie corrected. The staff couldn't have made us feel more comfortable. They answered all our questions and provided us with all the information we needed. We were very pleased! Our son is breastfeeding well now and is sleeping the same amount as before.

Yelp
Our experience today was great everyone in the office were wonderful. We was called to the back as soon as we sat down. My son really like the play area. It was an hour drive for us but totally worth it

Yelp
Love Dr. Lucas and her staff at Austin Pediatric Dentistry! We were referred to her from our lactation consultant. First time breastfeeding and was in tears with pain. Our 4 day old had the upper and lower lip tie. We were able to schedule an appointment the next day. The staff is amazing! Very friendly and fast. We didn't have our son on our insurance yet and they were helpful with the claim process. Dr. Lucas was very thorough with the process of the procedure and it was very fast. Breastfed after the procedure and already could tell the difference. Make sure to do the mouth exercises! They are a hassle, but worth it! On our 2 week appointment, the staff remembered us, they got the insurance information and filed the claim/reimbursement. They gave our son a toothbrush and cute onesie. They are out of network for our insurance, but my husband and I both agreed we would take our son there for his first dental experience- they are THAT good. :)

Yelp
Saw Dr. Lucas for my 3 MO tongue and lip tie. Dr. Lucas was very thorough on answering all my questions and giving my husband and I the time we needed to discuss. The staff is very friendly, helpful and just plain wonderful. You can see that each person loves what they do there. We decided to bring my 2 yr old her for her first dentist appointment. Courtney and Dr. Lucas were so great at trying to get her calm. They even "cleaned" my daughters babydoll teeth first, to show her what they would do to her. Although my 2yr old cried the entire time, when asked if she wanted to go back later she said yes. Super happy we were recommended them.

Yelp
I live almost 30 minutes away, and I really liked my old ped dentist, but Dr. Lucas just did my newborn's tongue and lip tie laser, and she was so incredibly considerate and kind and trustworthy, I'm moving both of my kids over to her. I can't gush about her enough - she really took care of my LO when she had an unrelated complication, and saved us a trip to the ER.

Yelp
This was the best dental experience I've ever had. Their insurance specialist, Staci, is wonderful. The assistant, Courtney, is fantastic, and Dr. Lucas was very attentive and helpful with our questions about our baby's tongue tie. The friendliness, professionalism, and personal touch make this dentist fabulous! They are out of network for us but the experience made it worth every penny!

Yelp
Wow! Dr. Lucas is AMAZING! We recently moved here and she is the first dentist that my two children actually get excited to see! The care is incredible, the staff is very friendly, and the facility is top notch. We feel so lucky to have finally found a dentistry that we will continue to go to for many years. Also, the waiting room area is gorgeous, there is a playhouse and even a video game floor. When one child is being seen my other child never wants to leave the waiting room! They are simply exceptional and my children no longer have tooth pain! Thank you! If six stars was an option I would have given them that. :)
