"Despite its refined franchise feel, Aux Vivres hasn’t expanded much since it was founded in 1997. That’s what makes this Westmount location so significant. Whatever the reason it took aim at this neighbourhood, its full menu is on offer here in addition to a downstairs grocery store carrying Aux Vivres growing list of products." - JP Karwacki

Really awesome, as always. I had the BLT which was my go-to order at the original location over 20 years ago. It tastes just as good as it did back then! My daughter loved her burger and the fries tasted just like we would make them at home. Lovely place, beautiful plants and atmosphere with a kind and quick service. We look forward to coming back again soon!

I have been to both locations. Dragon bowl and BLT on chapati, are my two favorites. The ingredients are always fresh and the portions are always filling. If you have room for dessert try the spicy brownie and a latte.

Food : 4/5 Service: 4.5/5 Atmosphere: 4/5 Trying something a little different I went for dinner with a friend (a former vegan) on a Wednesday evening. There is a small sidewalk terrace but we elected inside as it was a little chilly. The restaurant inside is very bright with a pretty laid back vibe and decor. The staff was very warm and helpful in terms of explaining some of the options and giving recommendations to me, a proud carnivore. We ordered 2 bowls, Dragon & Mumbai Bowl, Tempeh Satay and Mango Lassi. Orders came fast, presentation was very nice and everything was tasty. No complaints and would repeat.

After having been a regular customer for many years, I was very disappointed with my recent order and response. I had ordered a sandwich through Uber, and upon opening the package, it was less than a third of the size/amount of filling than any other time i have ordered (both in store and take out). This is much below the quality I have come to expect from Aux Vivres and hopefully this isn't a new normal. I tried to reach out via their contact page to ask about the issue but I never received a response, which is again disappointing.

Google
A must-try if you love vegan restaurants and you're looking for a high-quality tasty meal. I love this restaurant. The veggie burguers are my favorite from Aux vivres, since they are one of the few veggie burguers that are not dry. The smoothies are delicious, fresh, and taste like the fruit. The whole menu is great. Service is kind and attentive.

Aux Vivres Westmount is a plant-based paradise! Whether you’re vegan or just looking for a delicious, healthy meal, this place delivers every time. The dishes are fresh, vibrant, and packed with flavor—you can really taste the quality of the ingredients. It’s so refreshing to have a spot like this in Westmount. Aux Vivres proves that vegan food can be exciting and deeply satisfying. Highly recommend!

Google
Absolutely hands down the best vegan food experience of my life. Not only was the restaurant beautiful to look at, but the food was so delicious and flavourful! Topped off with the finest hospitality service by our waitress Summer. The prices were very good for the large portions of food you get. The carrot cake recommended by Summer, I couldn't believe it was vegan! Moist, tender, spicy and not too sweet, a must-try. We had such an amazing experience and can't wait to go again! Thank you Summer!

A cozy Vegan cafe at Westmount. We went for breakfast, and really enjoyed the food. The variety of items in menu was impressive, they have at least one dish from across the world ; we had the Mexican taco based dish, a Bombay bowl and the Golden pancakes . All of these were tasty and wholesome. Pair it with a cup of coffee or a tea pot of selected teas, and it’s a good start to the day !

Yelp
Pooh and I came here for lunch today. Pooh had Thali Malai Kofta and I had the Chili. Both of us started with a Dahl Soup Everything was fabulous. Fresh ingredients, very tasty and great service. We washed it all down with a Rubius Red (Irish) beer. No complaints

Yelp
Got: Buddha bowl, okonomiyaki bowl Price: $18, $20 CAD respectively Value: 7/10, large portions for one sitting. Simple and can be recreated at home. Slightly expensive for what it is although cheaper than other vegan places I've been to. The bowls are bright in color and fresh in taste. Ingredients are simply prepared (blanched bok choy and brocolli for the Buddha bowl) yet are put together in a striking way. Because of their simplicity, I'm biased to decrease the value rating in my head since say to myself "I can make this at home." Though, I seldom have the time or energy to gather the ingredients or plate them in this way. The sauce makes the dish and is the major source of flavor. For most bowls, there's a choice of tempeh or tofu. The tofu is lackluster and could maybe be grilled/heated before being served. It's pretty plain but that's how tofu is in it's natural system. The tempeh was also on the blander side which was a common theme at this restaurant which I could appreciate. In my opinion, a quick fry for the tempeh and a sprinkle of salt would add some texture to it's innately mushy bean texture. Overall, I would bring my vegan skeptic friends here since the bowls are beautiful, tasty, and filling. I don't forsee myself making coming here as a staple because of price and ease to make a similar bowl at home but would come again for a nice healthy treat when I'm busy or out.

Yelp
Never had vegan food before so me and a friend went to try this place Very nice stuff, they suggested a few different items on the menu that we took to share. I was actually impressed of the food. The Thai Tacos and the chocolate cake were my favourite. Also a cool thing is that everytime someone buys the Dragon Bowl they plant a tree, which is amazing I find. I would recommend vegan or not

Yelp
Karma free cuisine in NDG (Westmount) finally! Life is more scrumptious when you eat with compassion for all living beings; the sun shines a little brighter and the chirps of birds singing are a little more beauteous when you endeavour for your actions to not cause the suffering of others. This food is delicious, healthful, and ethical. You cannot go wrong with your choices here. Pretty much everything is amazing. I got hooked on Aux Vivres fare with their dragon bowl. The dragon sauce is like the most delicious sauce I've ever tried; I never thought nutritional yeast could taste so good. You can hardly believe you're eating a huge serving of raw vegetables. The dal is absolutely scrumptious; one hundred percent the best dal cooked by someone who is not of Indo-Canadian heritage. Try a dal with a side of brown rice. The Thai tacos are really delicious. The latkes are superb. I love the lox sandwich. The Mumbai bowl is excellent and so is the Mexican bowl. The gyro is pretty damn delicious. All of the beverages are beautiful but that mango lassi is on point. Now they've got you covered when it comes to sweets. The cheesecake is beautiful. The apple pie is amazing. The chocolate cake is sumptuous. But the best best best thing ever here is the spicy chocolate brownie. It will knock your socks off.

Yelp
A great addition to Westmount village. I finally made after hearing about this place years ago. I tried their dragon bowl with tempeh. I wasn't the biggest fan of tempeh after trying it but overall a healthy, filling option with a really nice sauce. I also had their chai, which was much better than what I was expecting. This place is a great option for vegans, vegetarians and anyone in the mood for a healthy meal :-)

Yelp
Good food but something is not right. Now it seems we can no longer eat in the pick up area even though there are tables. Please don't piss off your paying and regular customers!

Yelp
This is the type of vegan restaurant that even non-vegans will love. I've been here multiple times with people with different food restrictions and everyone loves it. The service has also always been great and the place very clean. Unfortunately due to COVID we could not dine in but ordered for delivery through Uber eats. My ultimate favourite has to be the dragon bowl. What really makes this dish is the sauce that comes with it. A little sweet, a little nutty, I'm not quite sure what they put in it but it's amazing! The dragon wrap also comes with the same sauce if you prefer a sandwich. A bowl may not sound like much food but it is filled with a ton of veggie, brown rice and your protein of choice (tofu or tempeh) so you'll definitely be satisfied by the end! My only issue with this restaurant is their dishes that mimic meat dishes. These may taste good to a vegan but I've tried both their "BLT" and the "salmon lox" sandwich and they were both extremely salty and had a strange (maybe just surprising?) consistency. I would suggest you stick to the bowls (dragon is really the best) or their burgers which are much better!

Yelp
Visiting Aux Vivres (relatively) new location was like a mini blast from the past: does anyone else remember when Aux Vivres St Laurent didn't suck? When it still felt intimate, when the food was still well-plated and well executed? When the servers didn't look distinctly miserable (hey, everyone knew the pre-union working conditions were garbage)? Well, their Westmount location was like that. I really love the new decor at this location- I'm still hard pressed to find a vegan resto in Montreal these days that isn't straight vegan chique (you know what I'm talking about). These guys challenge that aesthetic which is refreshing. The reason I've still reviewed the new location as three stars is attributable to the food: while the rest of the world has come around to the fact that vegan people eat real food Aux Vivres is still stuck in 2008. A chunk of tofu and nutritional yeast does not real food make. When these guys wake up to the 2010s and update their menu I'll venture to say that Aux Vivres Westmount is going to be a favourite.

Yelp
About 5 years ago, I had my first vegan meal with the old name of Aux Vivres called Crudessance and I remembered that it was very expensive to eat there and not to mention far from where I am living. Nowadays, I see places like Aux Vivres that are available in a busy shopping street in the middle of Westmount, and the food is pretty affordable. It may not be the same price as McDonald's combo nor other famous fast food place but... if you can afford a sit-down restaurant in a very nice place without the pricey price tag, then this place fits the bills. I spent approximately 21$ with tips included. I had a dal soup that is so delicious, I practically wanted to lick the bowl off of it. Then, I got served a THAI bowl which is full of delicious veggies, brown rice, and tofu with a good portion of peanut butter sauce on top of it. This restaurant is a yes to me - The relax chic ambiance, the service and the food were top notch. I know where to eat whenever I come back to Westmount - yes to the colourful bowl!

Yelp
Aux Vivres is the oldest vegan restaurant in Montreal; they were around since before veganism was "cool". Apart from the classic stereotypical vegan items (salads, juices, smoothies, Buddha bowls), they also make delicious vegan comfort foods, including sandwiches, burgers with fries, paratha and chapati, cornbread, mezze plates, latkes, and a wide variety of desserts such as cheesecake. They have many homemade veganized condiments as well: sour cream, mayo, butter, etc. I had their Mexicali burrito plate, which was a whole-wheat tortilla stuffed with chili and rice, served with sour cream, guac, salsa, and a green salad. It was very tasty but a little expensive (16$), but I guess that's expected from a good-quality vegan restaurant. Overall I'd recommend Aux Vivres if you're looking for great vegan comfort food in Montreal. Good place to bring your omnivore friends as well. PS They have 2 locations (Westmount and Plateau) and offer delivery.

Yelp
While in the mood for something fresh and healthy, I chose Aux Vivres. It was definitely worthwhile! I have the vegan BLT which followed the flavours true to the original it was smoky, crunchy, savoury and the creaminess rounds it all together. The creamsicle smoothie fulfilled the flavour also of it's namesake. I also quite like the carrot cake, the meal altogether was a good combination.

Yelp
Used Uber eats and as always their food is amazing. You don't miss the meat there's just so much great flavor. Keep up you guys!!!

Christian C.

Yelp
The Westmount counterpart of Aux Vivres keeps the concept of the original restaurant, it has an identical menu and the food is flavorful and healthy. I found the portions to be a tad smaller, but that leaves more room for dessert.

Risa D.

Yelp
We were looking for a vegan friendly, family friendly spot for brunch near Westmount Park and this fit the bill perfectly. We were able to make reservations for our gang of babies and moms, and when we arrived we felt welcomed and were given a table with plenty of room to not feel stressed or crowded. The service was perfect, on time but not rushed, and totally unbothered by the chaos of 3 kids under 1 year old. Most importantly, the food was really good! We were all full and happy, even the meat eaters really enjoyed the healthy flavours. Great coffee too!

Amanda W.

Yelp
Big portions! Loaded with flavours! My significant other is carnivore and is blown away by how great the food is and insists we come more often. It's also very hard to find a good vegan breakfast spot. This place never fails to impress me. Their breakfast burrito is a must try!

Sindhoori N.

Yelp
Awesome food We had Mexican burrito bowl It was really good And mango lassi is the best And we had Mumbai bowl which was filled with flavors and very yummy Overall we had a very good experience there

Yelp
Great food, clean environment, they followed Covid protocols, and great service... no complaints. I am not a vegan or a vegetarian... but wanted to try something different. The lentil soup was fantastic... I'd go just for the soup. I had tacos with a peanut sauce, and my wife had their burritos... both good. The desserts were 'to die for' - I had a berry cake (recommended by the waitress), it was excellent. My wife had a carrot cake... she said it was very good. I will go back again.

Yelp
An expansion of the vegan Plateau restaurant, another welcome healthy casual dining option in Westmount. Open for brunch, lunch and early dinner, with a take out option downstairs. Lots of selection of salads, bowls, juices and smoothies. I've gotten their dragon bowl and dragon wrap to go a few times, the sauce is amazing. I ate at the restaurant sitting outside once and had the deluxe salad. Lots of healthy fresh ingredients. Prices are reasonable for the quality of the food. Service is friendly and fairly quick. A great option if you're vegan, and even if you're not you will enjoy the food here.

Yelp
Met up with some friends on early Saturday morning and decided to go vegan for breakfast. Well... they decided to go vegan because I'm the opposite of vegan... haha, except I went with the flow and was open to try something new. The staff and service was great. I decided to have the pancakes served with fruits, cashew butter and maple syrup. I really didn't have a big choice because I'm not a fan of tofu nor tempeh, so that minimized my choices. I did enjoy my choice and the servings are huge. Everyone ordered something different and it look delicious but just not my cup of tea. I did leave satisfied and had a great time. Today for me was about the girls chit chatting than the food.:))

Nurjahan B.

Yelp
This place wasn't that bad actually ! I ordered the gyro which is essentially seasoned tempeh and this reallllly good tzatziki sauce. The gyro was enormous so you don't need to order any extra food trust me it was very filling ! my friend ordered the Mekong sandwich which she also liked and it was huge too. The place was super cute and there's a little take out downstairs where you can buy vegan food. I'm giving it 4 stars because our food took a long time to come and the waitress seemed a bit rude in the beginning until we gave her our tips and then she suddenly turned nice :( overall it was a good place and I'd recommend :)

Paula G.

Yelp
Ambiance, service, location 5/5 We ordered: mango lassi (YUM) creamsicle (also YUM) potato wedges (honestly not the best fries I have had, but the chipotle mayo was delicious) burrito (YUMMMMM) veggie burger (OK - missing some flavor) beet latke burger (pretty good) thai peanut bowl (SUPER YUM) Overall, very pleasant experience. Would highly recommend!

Trish O.

Yelp
I've been to both this location and the one on St-Laurent, and I much prefer this location. The breakfast menu is amazing, the location is spacious and inviting! Love this new location :)

Henry S.

Yelp
Aux Vivres Westmount sadly is not anywhere near the quality and service that is provided by their Plateau restaurant. We have been patrons of the Plateau restaurant for almost 20 years and are extremely disappointed with our 4 visits to the Westmount location. The manager as well as several of the staff have no idea how to deal with customers nor do they have an understanding of the food items they are serving. Moreover, the "chefs" do not at all measure up to those at the Plateau restaurant. The Tofu tastes like unseasoned cardboard. The soup is sub par and the Bowls and sandwiches are tasteless and boring. A total flop in Westmount on every level. Henry
