The Avalon was a great hotel! The service was particularly notable--front desk was so attentive and helpful, the customer service was top notch--especially Carlo, Jeremy and Eunice. They made us feel at home, especially when we came back from a medical procedure--they made sure everything was super comfortable. The FOOD was the biggest surprise at the restaurant. I never think hotel food is going to be much to write home about but everything was delicious and a great presentation. I had the green power salad, the kale salad (2x!) and added salmon which was cooked to perfection. My son had the burger and said it was fantastic. Jason in the dining room always made me my morning americano quickly and it was delivered with a smile!

The Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills is truly one of those rare places that feels like a home away from home. Every time I walk through the front doors, I’m reminded why my mom stays here so often and love it. They don’t just know her by name, they genuinely care about her and treat her like family, and I've seen that kindness extend to every guest who walks through the door.||The entire staff at the Avalon is outstanding. From the valet team who greet you with a smile and a helping hand, to the food service and housekeeping staff who work so hard behind the scenes, every single person goes out of their way to make your stay special. The front desk team, especially Carlo and Eunice, are just incredible. They’re warm, professional, and somehow always a step ahead and very accommodating. Their level of personal service goes far beyond what you’d expect. You feel seen, valued, and taken care of. If I could name everyone I would, each deserves their own shout out. ||The housekeeping is consistently excellent. Every room I’ve stayed in has been spotless and fresh. The beds are super comfortable and the details — like the Aesop toiletries — add a little luxury to your daily routine. It’s that perfect blend of relaxed comfort and polished style.||This a smaller intimate hotel has become a very special place for our family, and it’s all because of the people who make it what it is. I can’t recommend it highly enough.

I stayed at the Avalon for an event in Beverly Hills. Even though I had to book last minute, the hotel accommodated me perfectly. The entire staff is so lovely!! The gym is great with a Tonal, which I really enjoyed. Great bath products especially the body cream 🙏🏽 There was always someone at the front desk and I felt so taken care of. There are great suites with bathtubs and space for pre-event prep. Thank you Avalon for being a place of comfort in LA 🩵I will be back! If I could give more stars I would.

My family and I have been coming to the Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills for the last 15 years and each year our stay just gets better and better. In our collective, family's view, it exceed all expectations be it for service, affability of the staff or the service either at the front desk or the restaurant. Cleanliness and the ambiance are the hallmarkof this hotel.|For us it is a "home away from home" to great degree due to the front desk staff namely Martin, Eunice, Jeremy, Hudith and Carlo among others, and to a large degree the restaurant attendants Farouk, Warner and Jason.

Jermey, Carlo, and Emerson consistently make my visit to the Avalon Hotel magical. ||I travel often for work and am always looking for my stay. The team is very attentive, warm, and welcoming! The beds are by far the best hotel beds I’ve stayed in. And the Vivian restaurant is magic ( the breakfast burrito and chicken club are a must-try). ||I have many choices when staying in Beverly Hills, but the Avalon is my home away from home. #walkable # midcentury #Marriott

Maribel greeted me with warmth and hospitality, and I felt like a VIP. I had a few annoying requests and Maribel seemed delighted to help out which is so important when on business travel. ||The Food & Beverage team, including poolside servers, helped make my stay so enjoyable. The head of food and beverage was a delightful foodie! One of the servers told me about the history of the hotel and that made it even more special! I will certainly stay there anytime I am in Beverly Hills!||My room was roomy and had a lot of character and the dining experience at Viviane was fantastic. The location is perfect!

Emerson, Arturo, and Chris (the valet dudes) made this a fun stay. Very cool interactions every time we pulled the car out. ||As for the property itself, its a very chic hotel and worth checking out. Rooms are also clean and comfortable.||Overall we really liked the hotel

Yelp
This is a boutique type of hotel. You can tell it was probably a motel at some point and they spruced it up nicely. The entrance opens up into the pool area that is decorated with various trees. We were in town for one night so we didn't think too hard on hotel stay. The rooms give a 70's vibe in good way. Room service was quick. We were able to order from the tv screen. We were upgraded to the junior suite. This is not my fave hotel in the area but it is clean, cute and affordable. One disappointing things was we were not given our typical 4pm check out. As Ambassador Elite we typically always get a late checkout. We got a call a little after 12 stating they could only do until 2pm. I would probably come here again to sit by the pool and have lunch more than stay. Our breakfast was ok. My husband ordered a bacon, egg and cheese sandwich and I ordered the breakfast platter. Everything tasted great minus the potato's.

Yelp
The person at the front desk was rude and unprofessional immediately. I will leave it at that. I won't consider booking this hotel anymore.

Yelp
I have mixed feelings about this hotel and our stay. Historically it's pretty interesting and has a great pool but overall I have to give it a "just ok" experience from the musty old room to the underwhelming service. The location is pretty convenient to Beverly Hills shopping areas however. I don't know if I would stay here again. I may consider other options when in the area.

Yelp
From the moment we arrived, everyone was so nice and helpful. Carlos at the front desk and his partner who I'm so sorry forgot his name both were amazing and welcoming. They wished us happy birthday and a complimentary Prosecco and chocolates to our room. The actual hotel has a very retro vibe , Palm Springs , 1960 style. The fish tacos at the restaurant were delicious and our bartender/waiter was friendly , attentive and nice. We are absolutely coming back again.

Yelp
The hotel itself is pretty old and outdated. It smelled kind of funny, and the decor is lacking. Elevators are small, and if you're put in the building off to the side, it's kind of hard to go between the main inside buildings if it's freezing, cold or raining. Overall, I liked this place. But it left a lot to be desired as far as design architecture and luxury goes. Staff are nice though, and the food was very good.

Yelp
Love this place! Everyone that worked there were so nice and accommodating. The room was super clean and very quiet. We stayed in the part across from the main hotel and I would recommend that if you want peace & quiet. The food at the restaurant was super good. I will stay here again when I go to visit my daughter.

Yelp
We just stayed at The Avalon Beverly Hills this past weekend -- and we'll most definitely be back! We found this stylish boutique hotel to be an oasis, preserving all the charms of classic mid-century architecture with a modern upscale feel. The rooms were furnished whimsically, the beds were very comfortable, and there were plenty of pampering touches, from the Aesop bath products to the smartly curated selection of treats and beverages in the well-stocked mini bar. We had a junior suite and it was definitely worth the splurge: spacious and well-appointed with a large separate dining area / desk. The bar/restaurant and pool deck were always meticulously clean and quietly elegant day and night. But really the best part of staying here is the staff, especially Carlo who made us feel genuinely welcomed and was always at the ready to lend a hand (and anticipated our every need). There was zero attitude here and just a really upbeat and uncomplicated vibe in a great location on a safe and tree-lined street just off the beaten path. While we were here, we attended a private party on the pool deck -- and I couldn't have been more impressed by their event management staff, wait staff, catering team, and chef. The food was phenomenal (I attached a few pics...) and plentiful, served family style for our group of 40 or so, and everything just felt special and effortless and memorable in the best possible way. The cabanas around the pool made for a unique semi-private socializing zone, and the staff was always thinking ahead: refreshing towels and drinks and food as the night went on... so we all could just enjoy ourselves and the magic of a good time under twinkle lights while the kids swam in the pool and left the adults alone to indulge. It was just perfect. A number of the people who attended told us that they felt like they'd discovered a gem in L.A., and I really couldn't recommend the Avalon more highly as both a hotel destination and a private party venue. Can't wait to come back!

Yelp
I absolutely love this Boutique style Hotel. Staff very friendly. It's quiet and cozy. The restaurant is 5 star. Everything in the menu flavorful. The portions are generous. I would stay there again.

Yelp
The Avalon is a cute retro boutique hotel and centrally located. It is walking distance to many bar/restaurants but still maintains a chill/quiet vibe. The pool/restaurant are in the interior courtyard which creates a cozy feel and a nice space if you are working remote during the day. The rooms are older so it has a bit of a motel feel but overall the room we had was well maintained and clean

Yelp
Could not recommend this hotel enough!! Every single person on staff was so helpful and friendly. They offer free valet (basically unheard of for Beverly hills) the decor is so cute, the lobby and pool area is so retro. I loved the restaurant as well. The room was fantastic , bed was comfy. Everything was super clean, I can't think of one negative. Will def be staying here again :)

Yelp
The Avalon is nice. They have three different buildings, centrally located on a quiet street and grouped close together. The manager was very friendly and accommodating. He was available on site every day and made sure we were taken care of. The rooms are decent and clean, the service is very very slow. We would sometimes call two or three tones to follow up on something we asked for. I'm talking an hour for a bucket of ice if it ever came. It's faster to go down to the bar yourself and ask for something if you need it. Also the ordering system through the hotel TV does not work. We stayed in a few different rooms and they mostly had the same cute art and furniture. Somebody should really go in and tighten up the hinges on all the cabinets and drawers that are broken. Noticed that in every room but I'm not here to pick this place apart. I liked the privacy and open air feel. They offer self parking behind the hotel if you come and go frequently. Overall we had a nice stay. Good value for money.

Yelp
This was a cute little retro boutique hotel, convenient location. It was more on the quiet side. We are at the bar with some friends and someone came up to us and asked us to quiet down, even though we weren't that loud and it was a bar! I was especially impressed by our bartender, David and the bar's general manager, Ally. They took the time to talk to us when we are at the bar and later when we had brunch by the pool and were very welcoming. David even treated us to part of brunch (I believe that it was coffee). Just for the service, this is a great place to stay! Thank you, David and Ally!

Yelp
4.5 stars. While I live less than 2 miles away, I like coming here to escape and have a little alone time, especially during the pandemic. I first stayed here 13 years ago, when I had my birthday party at the cabanas. I loved the vibe then but love it even more after they refurbished the hotel. It reminds me a lot of Palm Springs (and I also have stayed at their PS location several times). This time around, I was looking for a reasonable hotel to stay at to work and chill. The weeks prior to staying here, I holed up at Petit Ermitage. I was going to go there again but decided to reach out to the hotel directly to see if they had a better deal. I heard back from the area manager who gave me a sweet deal that I could not resist. I was able to work with my laptop at the cabana and my room during the day and then chill and have drinks at the cabana by night. The folks there are so friendly and accommodating during each every stay since. I love just being able to have some alone time (with lots of restaurants nearby) that I'm thinking of coming back this week (and I was just there last week). Con: AC positioned too far from bed and struggled with the recent heat. I was so sweaty during the day

Yelp
This is the worst hotel I have ever stayed in. Marriott should be ashamed. The room was disgusting and reeked on marijuan. It needed a remodel or facelift 20 years ago. I can not believe the other reviews that said this hotel was great. They must be fake reviews. DO NOT STAY there. The employees were not friendly and seemed annoyed by the guests. I wish I took a photo of the room. It would tell you everything you need to know to stay clear of this place.

Yelp
It all started when we pulled up in an Uber from the airport. The guys behind the valet stand (there were two) greeted us with a nod as they watched my wife and I unload our bags from the trunk and wheel them inside. We had a "Deluxe King" which basically means the room is located in the main building. Our room was freezing no matter what temperature the AC was set at. The bathroom was tiny and has only a shower. There is no door or curtain on the shower, so the bathroom floor floods every time someone uses it. (Pro tip- get extra towels.) It's a good thing this hotel is in a safe area, because anyone can walk in off the street, through the side door. There is a 3% surcharge for "employee health". A $30 "Guest Amenities Fee" is added daily. When I inquired as to why this was on my bill, I learned it was for the pool, gym, Wi-Fi and in-room coffee machine. On second thought, maybe don't ask for extra towels after after all. And there is no ice machine on property. This really blew me away, as I cannot recall a hotel, motel or resort I have ever stayed at that did not have an ice machine. I guess that's how they keep the "guest amenities fee" under $50 a day.

Yelp
One again, I get we all have unique experiences with restaurants and hotels... and I was so temped to cancel my reservation here based on reviews from other Yelpers...and in the end I'm so happy I didn't. We drove up Monday (Labor Day) and checked in. I had an eye surgery and had asked for a quiet room in advance. We walked in with a full on pool party in progress and thought "oh shit" and walked to the front desk. Desiree was on the desk and I explained my deal. She told me her mom had the same surgery and gets it. But, the room she has wasn't ready even at 3:30pm. Urgggggg. How bout a glass of wine on us? She read my mind!!! We accepted and a half hour later we were led to room 232 which was in another building and PERFECT!!! Great bed, bath and Miomo amenities. Plus a little kitchen. My asked for quiet home for two days. I loved the service and hotel overall. Quaint and charming. I'll for sure go back for the pool party and enjoy it all!!!

Upon checkout I was introduced to the GM and he was extremely nice and apologetic and did his best to make things right. And that is appreciated. I will def go back some day.

Yelp
Nice Hotel, very close to shopping in Beverly Hills. Rooms are clean, a bit on the smaller size. Cool pool area and the food was good.

Yelp
There are boutique hotels that are charming, cozy, hip or romantic... Then there's hotels that misuse the term boutique. If you think small and your expectations are low ;then you may overlook the services and amenities that make your hotel experience worthwhile, and you may find The Avalon in Beverly Hills acceptable. Yes, the staff is mostly affable and welcoming. Yes, the location is top flight for accessing Beverly Hills and West Hollywood's shopping and eateries. However, we were delayed at check-in (3pm room not ready) Then we were sent to the annexed building that was dreadful and totally unacceptable. (DINGY, UNCLEAN, WORN AND TATTERED...) So, we upgraded for an additional $50/night. Upgrade? Hardly! No bath or acceptable shower and noisy location (Handicap acceptable accommodation) Not luxury, not an upgrade or pleasant experience. At 9am when we awoke, it was time to head out for the day. We stopped at the front desk and asked for our room to be cleaned. At 3:30 the room was as we left it with the bed unmade and not serviced as requested. The manager apologized and noted we had afforded his staff ample and appropriate time to complete the room cleaning process. So what, apologies not accepted unless you are apologizing for the fact you failed at your job in making our experience anything but enjoyable. No excuses for the litany of disappointments from check-in to UNCLEAN rooms. Improvements can make a lot of difference to a potentially nice located boutique hotel. Without a guest experience any better than a Motel 6, I think corporate needs to be more hands on in retraining management. Sorry, cannot recommend this property to clients or friends until changes occur.

Yelp
This review is strictly for the Sunday brunch right by the swimming pool. I've never stayed here since I live in BH, I've always just come here to see my visiting friends when they come to town. The breakfast here is actually pretty amazing!! From my acai bowl to salmon eggs Benedict, everything is excellent and portions are generous. So why 4 and not 5 big stars you ask? Well there is this one gentlemen who is an employee, and he doesn't look so happy working there. It seems that he doesn't really wanna be there. Since there were only maybe 2 people working that day. It was not the best day to be ignored by him when we needed things that should have came together with the food. Anyways, I shall return and hopefully the service will be much improved. Cannot highly recommend it yet until my next review. Thank you....bye.

Yuli K.

Yelp
Very, very crappy experience here with unprofessional, unorganized people that basically wasted my time and efforts. This was perhaps one of the most unprofessional exchanges I've experienced yet in Los Angeles. There are literally three or four hotels within a blocks radius of this place and I would choose any one of them before this one.

Yelp
4.5/5! Went here for a work trip and felt very taken care of the entire time I was there. Whether it was in the boardroom, my room, or the restaurant, I was always asked if I needed anything else and was constantly given extra help (e.g., putting my bags in my rideshare, asked if I needed extra toiletries, more water, etc.). The hotel is historic, quirky, and gorgeous. I love the mid-century modern design of the hotel. The only two cons I can think of are thin walls and the open glass wall shower. I could hear my neighbor's conversations at times and the open glass wall led to puddles of water outside of the shower. All in all, I'd definitely come back here!

Yelp
I have stayed at this hotel while I work in LA for the past six months. The people here are really great. They always want to go above and beyond to get you anything you ask for. The hotel is clean and the rooms are classic California boutique.

Yelp
Worst Hotel Experience Ever Our anniversary was completely ruined by our stay in this hotel. First, we were led by the website and its affiliation with Marriott brand to believe that this was a beautiful hotel with lots of amenities, but were instead given a room inside an insecure two-level apartment building with no onsite staff, no entrance locks, and no amenities. Second, our hotel room door was opened and left wide open while we were away. We checked and found no hotel cleaning staff around in the building. The worst part was that when we brought this to the attention of the front desk staff member named Elizabeth, suggesting that we had left the doors open ourselves. When we showed her our evidence that we could not be physically in the building which collaborated with the lock activity log she provided herself, she treated us rudely and disrespectfully, offered no explanation nor apology. When my wife asked to speak to her supervisor, Elizabeth claimed that she was the manager and had no boss. We had to cancel the rest of the reservation because of this upsetting experience. I advise fellow travelers to avoid this hotel at all costs--there are several Marriotts nearby that are far more hospitable and secure, including the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Century City/Beverly Hills we moved to afterwards.

Yelp
Colony of ants in the bathroom. Infested my toiletry bag including toothbrush, razor, even my retainer! Checked in and checked right out same day. This hotel is kind of a dump with nice wall paper and modern furniture. The physical property is very old. It feels more like an old LA apt building that was converted into a hotel. For the same price, we checked into the Marriott down the street. Much much nicer hotel with real professional service.

Yelp
Had post Thanksgiving brunch outside by the pool. Lovely semi private alcoves. Good food, coffee and service! And just to be outside!!! Thank you Viviane Restaurant at the Avalon Hotel.

Yelp
A nice, cozy place in Beverly Hills. I love the pool area and it's a great place to relax. Clean rooms and good food. It's cheaper than most of the hotels in Beverly Hills, so it is a bargain. The Avalon is near food shopping and the restaurants on South Beverly Drive. Rodeo Drive is just four blocks away. Did you know that Marilyn Monroe twice lived here before she became a star? There are famous photos of her around the pool. Lucy and Desi loved the place. You will see why. George Vreeland Hill

Yelp
This hotel is great. It's not at all typical in a good way. Mid-century modern style makes it an experience. The room was lovely and the price was right. What really made the stay for me was the staff. They were attentive and kind. I really appreciated the front desk staff to the cleaning to the room service staff. Location was convenient. I would definitely stay here again

Yelp
We've been coming back here for years! As much for the service as the properties quirky, comfortable ambiance. Example: Coming in last night from a different time zone, I was wide awake at 4AM this morning. Not wanting to awaken my wife with the coffee machine, I dressed, grabbed my Kindle and went to the lobby in search of some. Not sure about the espresso maker in the kitchen - Alex, the night manager- didn't throw in the towel. He soon had me in a vacant room, making two cups and after which I went poolside where I savored both cups while reading and listening to sounds of birds and the city brining in the new day. Thanks, Alex... above and beyond! A 5-Star effort! Thanks

Yelp
This place is a perfect example of a bait and switch. Please beware. We decided to stay here after visiting their website. Their website shows lots of nice photos of the room, but that's not what you'll see once you're there. We booked the "Classic King" room and from their advertised photos, the room features a hardwood floor and tile bath; overall the room is appealing online. Then, what we got was a carpeted room with stains everywhere; a tiny bathroom with a tiny tub; the room looks like a cheap motel with distressed furniture (the cabinet door doesn't even close). We immediately called the front desk and told them exactly that. They moved us to a "better" room but still, it was nothing like the photos online. They charge a $100 pet fee and do not offer any pet amenities. We asked for a dog bed and bowls, and they said they don't have those. The service was mediocre. It was one of the worse experiences. Don't believe these photos from their website.

Yelp
Theres something magical about this hotel. Not just beautiful rooms and outstanding service, or even the cool history that you can echo marilyn monroe at the pool (she lived there) or see places where I Love Lucy was shot (lucile ball lived there too). But the whole place is like a work of art so beautifully designed. In fact after taking a picture of my family at the poolside cabana I couldn't help but think of #VanGogh's Cafe on the Terrace painting. If you reverse the painting, it's like an accidental exact replica. Check the slant of the roof, the orange table with white pottery, the lights as stars and the coloring, the crazy match of the coloring in all corners! I tell you theres artistic magic there.

Yelp
Had a great time here w my girlfriend and 10 year old pup. We spent the night and celebrated my dogs 10 year birthday. The entire staff was very accommodating and friendly. They gave us recommendations on where to walk and leave our car. We had dinner reservations at Vivianne and the waiters couldn't be nicer to us and my dog. Would def recommend. The only caveat is that we stayed on the second floor and could hear the people walking around above us throughout the night and I don't think they were being excessive. Just thin floors.

Yelp
I honestly wasn't sure about this hotel because it seems a little Tucktaway however it's one of my favorites now. Really cute retro decor, the staff was extremely helpful and friendly, The food at the restaurant was fantastic, and the place is small enough to still have a very chill and laid-back vibe. Best of all, the room Was spacious and comfortable and quiet.

Yelp
Avalon Beverly Hills is a cute boutique spot in a quiet side of the neighborhood, about 1.5 miles to the hustling part of Cannon Drive. So you need a short drive/Lyft/Uber to restaurants and places. This storied boutique hotel for mid-century stars like Marilyn and Desi has long been the getaway from the L.A. scene. Avalon found a second life-and its current name-when we re-imagined it as an 84-room boutique hotel in 1999. Immersed in high design and situated around a boomerang-shaped pool, patio, and the mediocre Viviane restaurant and bar that offers a few tables outdoor by the pool. Tiny check in reception area, valet parking offers, it's a SPG special Collection hotel groups. So we did early points here and got a COMPLIMENTARY upgrade to a bigger studio suite at 1 time. Comfortable bed, small bathroom, and it feels like an apartment-like because it used to be an apartment back in the 49-50s. On our second stay, the elevator broke down 3 days straight! No one offers to bring our luggages up and down. No one mentioned when we checked in, no apology nor note on our reservation???!!! So the struggle was real when I travel with wines and at least 5 pairs of shoes/boots! And the pool was more for "a show" than for us to a actually swim, I was uncomfortable to even laying there! And I usually have no shame to anything! Remember to close your bathroom & window and your window by your bed, it can get noisy and you won't be able to sleep! FYI!

Yelp
Love this hotel and the restaurant. We stopped overnight in LA and I chose this property because of its location. The place felt like an oasis when you were inside. Dinner was by the pool with the heaters blazing to keep us warm. The server was so lovely and kind. In the morning Jason I believe was his name made us feel as if we were regulars at breakfast. Before moving on to our next location we took two bikes out for a spin. What a great pre departure activity.

Yelp
I was told I was being comped my stay here by the Mariott down the street when they overbooked their hotel. I wish I had just canceled, as when they sent me here there were nothing but screw ups. First, the clerk in the lobby told me I would need to put my card down for the security deposit, which would be refunded the next day. It was around 1 am when this was all taking place & I was tired, so I went along with it. It all seemed to be doing well enough when he activated a couple room keys for the 2 of us. We ended up in an awkward situation when we must have woken up the room occupant there, who thought we were breaking in. We were given a different room. The next day when I was checking out, I was supposed to be refunded for my deposit since the clerk had informed me he had verified the Hilton would pay. Instead, I was charged over $400 more than the amount I had booked the other room for. I got the charge refunded from priceline who I had booked through, and now the Avalon has charged me again for nearly $100 more than the last charge. These incompetent idiots keep charging me, even after refunding me for their first screw up. If I could give 0 stars I would. The place is run by crooks.

Yelp
Avoid this Hotel. It is a VERY noisy place. Some of the rooms are outside the main facility, so you have to get out of the Hotel and cross the street to get into a separate building. At 8am some city workers were cutting trees !right outside of my window!!! Dusty windows. Little toilet. This place is overrated.

Yelp
Avalon is a great choice! It's in a good neighborhood, quiet, pool access, easy check in. Rooms are clean, bed is pure to rest your head. They provide a speaker for your entertainment. Avalon has parking.

Yelp
What a gem the Avalon Hotel is to Beverly Hills. The location is fantastic and I liked the fact it was a small boutique hotel with wonderful cabana outdoor seating around the pool. I stayed here post surgery before heading back home. The staff was very accommodating and professional. I will definitely stay here again and will highly recommend it to anyone I know seeking a great place to stay while in Los Angeles.

Yelp
Worst hotel ever. Converted from a convalescent home, I can't understand how this place can call themselves a hotel. Disgusting and dirty guest rooms. Unmaintained. Unfriendly staff. Forget about room service or frankly any kind of service. Unless you're looking to get sick, stay far away from this hell hole. Also prepare to spend over 30 minutes at check in. Front desk staff (when they're there) are unhelpful and unfriendly. 1 star for the location. 0 stars for everything else. Restaurant has good ambiance. Pool would be good if it ever had any sun. Plenty of much better options available down the street on Beverly or near Wilshire.

Yelp
A great boutique hotel in Beverly Hills with some history. This is the hotel where Lucy and Ricky Ricardo of I Love Lucy stayed when they visited Hollywood. The hotel maintains its retro vibe with its mid century modern decor and yet stays current with the white and turquoise colors. I love the pool area that is surround by tables and cabana's The rooms are small but comfortable and they have a small workout gym A nice place to stay and a nice place to hang for a drink by the pool

Yelp
Do not stay here. I made the mistake of falling for their beautiful website, not using Yelp beforehand, and blindly trusting the Marriott brand. For reference, I stayed here on New Year's Eve this year. Issues: 1. Terrible rooms If you're interested in a beautiful room at the $250+/night level, you should stay at the SLS instead. Like others have mentioned, we were fooled by the cute layout of their website and the beautiful pictures online. The actual property looks like someone put makeup on a Motel 6. The outdoor lobby is next to the pool and smells like chlorine. The room corridors are all outdoors. There is no security outside or inside the hotel at night. The elevators do not require a key card to use. Again, there are no pictures of the corridors on the Marriott website. I have never seen this in a luxury property before. Should've done even further research. We were told we were upgraded to a deluxe room. The deluxe room shower is a walk-in/standing shower with no door. There is glass that covers only half the shower. This causes water to be sprayed on the floor. I laid a towel on the floor, and it was soaked when I finished my shower. 2. Lost my items I've stayed over 150+ nights in hotels this past year, and it's not uncommon to forget something when you pack up. Marriott has always recovered my items no matter how small (pair of earrings, laptop charger, blouse in closet, etc). This is the one time I've left behind something, and it was never found. I called to ask on 3 separate days following my check-out. Come on, to not see a pair of black sweatpants next to the all-white bed? Suspicious and disappointed in the staff. 2. Unreasonable fees - $28 "Amenity Fee" You will be charged a $28 fee for WiFi, "use of pool" in the winter, coffee from 6-8am when you want to sleep in on vacation, and bike rental (??). Please be aware of this (and similar reviews below) before you book this hotel. I can't believe this is a Marriott Category 5 hotel.

Yelp
I really wish I could give a negative rating. I'm currently staying at the hotel and anxiously counting down until I don't need to be laying on this bed! Which btw- check the mattress...it's W HOTEL mattress. WHAT?! I swear they took this off the street from a W Hotel from 10 years ago and added a topper and called it a day. I legit feel the box springs. Also I didn't even feel comfortable enough to take a shower!!! My bathroom smelled like sewer! I called and he said he'd call back...crickets.. no phone call back. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT BOOK HERE. *side note the service was amazing, the hotel product, not so much

Yelp
I was lucky enough to get a room last minute for my birthday weekend at the Avalon Hotel Beverly Hills and the expirence was great. AH is a very boutique hotel positioned in a great location of Beverly Hills with easy access everywhere, within reason. I had a 5 star expirence without having to finance the bill (figuratively speaking). The hotel was clean, ran seamless, had phenomenal staff, and successfully created a since of bliss. The Art Deco design, pastel colors, and 80s music made me question if I was in LA or Palm Springs, and I loved it. Only hiccups were the fact the key card system was own and therefore had to be escorted around the grounds and to the room every time I needed access including nights. And the parking is subterranean valet only with no on-grade options therefore my lowered car couldn't clear the negative grade angle for the parking. That being said, I went ahead and found a 24hour garage 1-mike away and made good use of the pleasant walking time through Iconic Beverly Hills. Overall it was a great expirence, thank you guys! Certainly recommended

Yelp
Let me say Rob from the restaurant/Bar is exceptional!!! You guys are so lucky to have him! He was so kind fun and energetic! Rebecca was my waitress and she was so knowledgeable about the menu and sweet and patient!!! I had a great experience with the staff!

Yelp
This hotel is terrible. Everything is broken and worn beyond belief. The Air conditioning barely works and the prices are very high. I had apartments in college that were much more luxurious than this. Beware... They have a second tower across the street you may get stuck in with a view of the alley and trash bins for the same price as the main tower. There is garbage piled up in the hallways in strange wood bins that smell, and the noise level is way too high. The pool area is good but the service is bad. Good luck getting the correct baggage delivered to your room. We waited so long that my husband went and tracked down our luggage. They brought the wrong suitcases to us. I would rather stay at the worst Holiday Inn the area. At least the rate would match the quality. They are obviously banking on the Beverly Hills area name.

Yelp
Visited here to celebrate my birthday and here's what I noticed: No SPG welcome gift, even being platinum elite No recognition of birthday Poor customer service, especially front desk staff Terrific gym Rooms are nice, everything else is extremely run down Overall, they do not make you feel welcome and I do not recommend.
