Yelp
Do not stay here. I made the mistake of falling for their beautiful website, not using Yelp beforehand, and blindly trusting the Marriott brand. For reference, I stayed here on New Year's Eve this year.
Issues:
1. Terrible rooms
If you're interested in a beautiful room at the $250+/night level, you should stay at the SLS instead. Like others have mentioned, we were fooled by the cute layout of their website and the beautiful pictures online. The actual property looks like someone put makeup on a Motel 6.
The outdoor lobby is next to the pool and smells like chlorine. The room corridors are all outdoors. There is no security outside or inside the hotel at night. The elevators do not require a key card to use. Again, there are no pictures of the corridors on the Marriott website. I have never seen this in a luxury property before. Should've done even further research.
We were told we were upgraded to a deluxe room. The deluxe room shower is a walk-in/standing shower with no door. There is glass that covers only half the shower. This causes water to be sprayed on the floor. I laid a towel on the floor, and it was soaked when I finished my shower.
2. Lost my items
I've stayed over 150+ nights in hotels this past year, and it's not uncommon to forget something when you pack up. Marriott has always recovered my items no matter how small (pair of earrings, laptop charger, blouse in closet, etc). This is the one time I've left behind something, and it was never found. I called to ask on 3 separate days following my check-out. Come on, to not see a pair of black sweatpants next to the all-white bed? Suspicious and disappointed in the staff.
2. Unreasonable fees - $28 "Amenity Fee"
You will be charged a $28 fee for WiFi, "use of pool" in the winter, coffee from 6-8am when you want to sleep in on vacation, and bike rental (??).
Please be aware of this (and similar reviews below) before you book this hotel. I can't believe this is a Marriott Category 5 hotel.
