I just returned from Vail and discovered a new casual eating spot. I got the recommendation from a bartender at the 10th. Avanti Vail is located at Golden Peak in the old Larkspur location. It's a bar and food court with food vendors. I ended up going here because I was craving a burger and fries. I was staying at the Tivoli Lodge so it's just a short walk or if you're really tired and lazy from skiing you can catch the in-town bus for the very short distance from Hansen Ranch Road to Golden Peak/Avanti Vail. It's always easier to walk downhill than uphill. lol
When you walk in, a large bar will be on your left. It was quite busy for après ski when I walked in around 6:30-7. The food court itself has a few high tops and tables so lots of seating. You can get ramen, pizza, burgers, Mediterranean and breakfast.
I opted for a burger from Backyard Burgers. If you order a burger it comes with hand cut fries. I ordered the Double Wit' Cheese and the mozzarella sticks with a "dilly" ranch sauce. My only suggestion would be to offer regular ranch sauce. The dilly ranch was good but too much dill is not a good thing. In the end, I didn't use much of it. The burger was really good and hit the spot after a day of skiing. I will definitely get the burger the next time I'm in Vail.
The other food vendors include:
Boychick which states it's Mediterranean-inspired but looking at the menu its Middle Eastern food. Everything on their menu looked really good including chicken shawarma wrap, lamb gyro, baba ghanoush, hummus, falafel, fried cauliflower and quinoa tabbouleh.
Detour - coffee bar, breakfast grab & go, sandwiches and soup, and different kinds of bruschetta.
Glo is a ramen bar and also serves sushi. If I wasn't craving a burger, I would have gone for a nice big bowl of ramen.
Powder Crust Pizza - you can't go wrong with pizza.
Some may think the prices are high but it's Vail. What I really like was how casual it is. I imagine a lot of families will like this food court.
I will definitely explore the other food choices when I come back.
