Avanzare Review: We had a reservation at 7:00 and were seated promptly. At 7:50 our server came over and apologized for the delay with our food--and said it would be right out. We were kind and said no worries. We didn't see him again. At 8:33, my husband went and spoke to manager--who was NOT helpful, no apology of any kind--she has horrible service recovery skills. Finally, our food arrived at 8:48 (one hour and 48 minutes after being seated). Our server offered 2 free desserts for "the delay". We declined as we were there celebrating a birthday and had cake at home. Server came back, took our credit card, brought it back with no signature receipt but, didn't say a single word--confused we went back to our server and said we need a credit card receipt to sign, we didn't want to leave without paying. Some man, maybe the owner, grabbed the bill from my hand and said your dinner is on me. I thanked him & we left. We were in the restaurant for 2 1/2 hours--not by choice. We saw people arrive, eat and leave before we even received our food. The offer of 2 free desserts was an insult. Two entrees were luke warm the other 2 were ok. Overall very disappointing experience. An apology and comping one entree would have been an easy fix--but, the lack of attention from the manager after we brought it to her was unacceptable. We won't be back and we will definitely share our negative experience with others. Literally ruined an evening that was meant to be a fun evening of celebration. Yes, in the end our meals were comped (which we didn't expect) but, appreciated hence the 2 stars. However, the way it all went down was frustrating. Two thumbs down!
