Avaspi

We followed Mehmet here from his other restaurant The Gundis and loved every bit of this new spot! The people, the atmosphere, and the FOOD. We’ve gone twice now and every dish has been immaculate. The Avaspi Mixed Plate is amazing and plenty for two people (though we couldn’t resist getting tapas as well and had leftovers!) The wine selection is well curated and pairs excellently with the food. I know we will be back many times in the future!

The atmosphere was cozy, not over crowded or too loud we were comfortable the entire time. Black walls with red accents looked great. The food was also fantastic. It tapas so great for trying multiple things. We had the tomato and goat cheese dish that was fantastic. Then moved on to the plate for 2. Which allowed us to sample many items. Everything was cooked well the lamb medallions were tender, the beef was well seasoned and the chicken was juicy. They have a decent wine and cocktail selection as well as several beers.

We were in Chicago for a weekend and stopped by Avaspi to celebrate birthday of my brother and we couldn't be happier with our choice of restaurant. What a beautiful place, with truly amazing Mediterranean food. The staffs went above and beyond to accommodate our needs. I have nothing but praises about place. Just want to thank them for making our family outing memorable.

After reading all the great reviews, I decided to visit for dinner. From the moment we walked in, the service was great, everyone was very attentive. Ordered the mixed plate for 2 and all the meat was cooked to perfection. Wrapped up dinner with the Baklava and some teas, compliments from our server. Overall, the reviews were spot on with all the praises. Great addition to the neighborhood!

Great new Anatolian restaurant from owner of The Gundis Kurdish Kitchen. Great cocktails, food, and service. The vibe and music feels like a cafe or restaurant from Istanbul or Marrakesh. The tapas appetizers were good intro and the grilled meats were perfectly done- hot & juicy and very flavorful. The Kurdish coffee and the desserts were unique and tasty. Not a missed beat at all with excellent service.

Loved the food and the vibe! Everything was delicious. We did the meat sampler for 2 so that we could try more things, and loved it all. The lamb medallions were a highlight. The katmer was a great dessert to share since we were so full - light and flaky and not too sweet.

Meat sampler was great! Plenty of meat for two people. I loved all the meats! Chicken was very tender. Lamb chop was juicy. Food is absolutely 10/10. We went on a weekday, the service was 8/10, had to look for our waiter a few times. Great decor inside and nice vibe!

VIBES & flavor EXPLOSION! We are thrilled that Avaspi has come to Lakeview. We’ve never been anywhere quite like it. Multiple times during the meal I just said “wow”. My favorite was the olive salad. It is so bright and acidic with balsamic warmth and savory green olive that just pops in your mouth with parsley and mint. Service was also great. Will definitely return!
