Avenir Restaurant

This is a tasting menu in the truest sense. Every dish was full of taste and surprising combinations. The menu was different compared to other restaurants. The staff was also very welcoming. They let us taste some wine samples before choosing a bottle we liked, were always very helpful and made us feel completely comfortable. If you are looking for a place unlike any other, this is the one to go to.

There was 4 of us. Booking is obligatory. Each took La barra del Avenir - menu consist of 15 plates. All plates was really tasty and interesting, each plate was well explained to us. Speak English and Castellano, Catalan. Exceptional service. Very decent wine selection under even 30 euros per bottle. Big thanks to the restaurant team.

What an amazing experience! Somewhat unusual compared to other higher class restaurants, a ton of courses served at a very high frequency, with some of them intended to be eaten with your hands. My personal highlight was eating tuna straight of the bone with my hands, as if I was having ribs, truly a unique dish. There was nothing that completely blew my mind purely from its taste alone, so I can somewhat understand the lack of a Michelin Star, but my god the price they charge is so insanely low for 19(!) high quality courses that it's impossible to complain.

Avenir Restaurant in Barcelona was an absolute highlight of my trip. As a solo traveler with a four-year-old, dining out at highly regarded restaurants can sometimes feel daunting—you never quite know how welcoming the staff (or fellow diners) will be toward a young child. But from the moment we arrived, the team at Avenir made us feel completely at home. (I should mention we attended during a quiet Wednesday lunchtime and chose out of the way seats, to respect the other diners). The staff's warmth and hospitality were outstanding. Sensing my daughter’s hungry crankiness, they immediately brought over some fresh bread, a small gesture that spoke volumes about their attentiveness. I opted for the eight-course tasting menu, which was incredibly well-priced for the quality and creativity on display. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour, showcasing the level of excellence that has earned them Michelin recognition. What stood out just as much as the food was the staff’s kindness. They took the time to carefully explain each course to me while also being genuinely accommodating to my lively little dining companion. The entire experience was seamless, relaxed, and welcoming—a rarity in fine dining when traveling with a child. I wholeheartedly recommend Avenir. It’s a place where both exquisite cuisine and exceptional hospitality come together to create a truly special experience. Thank you to the wonderful team for making our meal so memorable—I will definitely be back!

We enjoyed every single dish on the tasting menu, and the Som spoiled us with fantastic Spanish wines. Thank you Avenir team for an evening to remember!! I’m still dreaming about the garlic and lemon/cava pairing.. it was heavenly.

The El Avenir dinner tasting menu is a beautiful, delicious, and truly creative Catalan culinary experience in a charming & relaxed environment. Service was warm & friendly, suitable for almost any occasion. This is a must-try in Barcelona! Highly deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand. Looking forward to a second visit and the lunch menu.
