Avenir Restaurant in Barcelona was an absolute highlight of my trip. As a solo traveler with a four-year-old, dining out at highly regarded restaurants can sometimes feel daunting—you never quite know how welcoming the staff (or fellow diners) will be toward a young child. But from the moment we arrived, the team at Avenir made us feel completely at home. (I should mention we attended during a quiet Wednesday lunchtime and chose out of the way seats, to respect the other diners). The staff's warmth and hospitality were outstanding. Sensing my daughter’s hungry crankiness, they immediately brought over some fresh bread, a small gesture that spoke volumes about their attentiveness. I opted for the eight-course tasting menu, which was incredibly well-priced for the quality and creativity on display. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavour, showcasing the level of excellence that has earned them Michelin recognition. What stood out just as much as the food was the staff’s kindness. They took the time to carefully explain each course to me while also being genuinely accommodating to my lively little dining companion. The entire experience was seamless, relaxed, and welcoming—a rarity in fine dining when traveling with a child. I wholeheartedly recommend Avenir. It’s a place where both exquisite cuisine and exceptional hospitality come together to create a truly special experience. Thank you to the wonderful team for making our meal so memorable—I will definitely be back!

The El Avenir dinner tasting menu is a beautiful, delicious, and truly creative Catalan culinary experience in a charming & relaxed environment. Service was warm & friendly, suitable for almost any occasion. This is a must-try in Barcelona! Highly deserving of the Michelin Bib Gourmand. Looking forward to a second visit and the lunch menu.

We enjoyed every single dish on the tasting menu, and the Som spoiled us with fantastic Spanish wines. Thank you Avenir team for an evening to remember!! I’m still dreaming about the garlic and lemon/cava pairing.. it was heavenly.

Avenir is truly a special special restaurant. We met Juan and Chesco, both gave us some of the best service we ever had - helping us with recommendations for beautiful local wines we wouldn’t have discovered otherwise. The food was so well balanced and each dish introduced with love, detail and attention that only comes from real care about the food, produce and local area. The plates themselves were also stunning. I’d recommend the tasting menu to anyone, it’s worth travelling for, we’ll come back again from London. If you’re tempted, definitely go visit them. Thanks so much for the much special meal

Tried the 20 course tasting meny for lunch (the 15 course option would have been more than enough). It was an interesting 2 hour journey. Would like to highlight the waitresses which were friendly and patiently explained each dish properly, and the overall presentations of the dishes.

We got the larger (19 dishes) tasting menu there and left very impressed, it was a delicious dinner and a great experience, the restaurant, chefs and staff deserve the highest marks. The menu is composed in a thoughtful manner and takes inspiration from many local Catalan dishes. The food was delicious and out of 19 plates I received there was only one I found underwhelming, the rest was absolutely top notch. The staff was very attentive and professional, kind and helpful. Plating on some of the dishes was among the best creations I have seen in my life. Overall, 10/10 experience, excellent job and congratulations to the whole Avenir team.

We came here on our last night in Barcelona / Spain and had a great time. The food was delicious - delicate flavours, well balanced and appropriate sized portions for a tasting menu. We were treated attentively and with care - lots of explanations for each course and we were guided in our wine selection. We had many food restrictions in our group and these were handled very thoughtfully. We were also surprised at the emptiness of the restaurant - excellent value for the tasting menu! Would highly recommend

Lovely local ingredient and seafood forward tasting Manu at great value. Affordable wine by the glad pairing. Impeccable service in a slightly laid back environment given the elevated cuisine. Make a reservation you won’t regret it!
