Avenue Gyro

I came here with friends to celebrate a birthday and had a wonderful time. I highly recommend Avenue Gyro! The staff is very accommodating, polite and friendly. The food was fresh, homemade and delicious! We came in February on a Wednesday night, but I imagine this place fills up on weekends and during warmer months -- it Must! Warm atmosphere, earthy decor, clean facilities... what more can I say? We loved everything we ate. Edita took excellent care of us and the chef came out to check on us also! No complaints from us. We had great food and excellent, attentive service. 5/5.

I ordered a $10.00 spicy feta dip and received this. A tiny serving. And it was not anything near spicy feta. Be careful. Food is good but they rip you off

I find this place to be wonderfully decorated, with the lights on display, the marble walls, and the brick architecture. The food is amazingly prepared. My lady friend and I enjoyed our stay and caught up with events. I find this restaurant lavishing and a place to relax for a calm dinner. Love Avenue Gyro! This has been the best addition to Arthur Avenue. Authentic Greek street food taken to a restaurant level. We started out with halloumi fried cheese, fried calamaris and a loukaniko sausage which came with a generous portion of grilled pita and regular bread. The loukaniko was delicious with hints of green pepper (that you can actually see). We followed with two salads: arugula and tomato (along with a chicken breast) with feta cheese. Feta cheese was served as big dices. It was scrumptious. Prices are very reasonable and food is served either indoors or outdoors. We love this place and come here frequently. Service is always impeccable; the chef is very friendly and always adds a personal touch. On the latest visit, they were having a very busy day. The waiter still gave us full attention and quick service.

I was surprised to find this gem in the heart of Arthur Ave = Bronx Little Italy (BLI). The best authentic gyros across the board! Apps were fresh and delicious, service was steller! Stop in and hang out at this warm and friendly Greek restaurant. You'll be pleasantly surprised.

Ordered takeout from this place after reading the reviews. The falafel sandwich was good! Falafel was fresh, crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside. It didn't fall apart and the sandwich was well filled. Even the lettuce tasted fresh and not frozen. I just wish they put the tzatziki and hot sauce. This is the only sandwich where they don't add additional sauce and not sure if it's because they are vegetarian. The fries were 3/5 stars. Not sure if they were soggy due to delivery but the feta didn't have much taste and they could've added some Mediterranean spices to the fries. Also for $8 it's a little overpriced. The service was quick since the delivery was within 1 hour of ordering. Compared to other places, it seemed healthier and I could see myself ordering either the sandwich or platter again. However, they should include hot sauce and a white sauce like other places even if the meal is vegetarian.

I came here for lunch on a beautiful afternoon and enjoyed a Lamb Gyro with my friend. we shared a hummus spread also. The place was clean and inviting. The service was great and attentive and most importantly the food was delicious. There aren't many good gyro spots on Arthur Avenue, or the even the entire Bronx so I am glad I found this Gem.

I started frequenting this place a year ago. I have NEVER had a bad meal here. Just brought in 2 friends on Saturday and they will now bring their families as well. So good and so fresh. The staff is always so friendly and helpful too. Don't skip on them. Headed there right now. Highly recommend.

I ate here on a cold and rainy day and the food was just what I needed! There were 3 of us and we ordered 1 chicken gyro, 1 pork gyro and the half chicken. Wow! The portion sizes of the gyros alone is incredible, they are very big. The pork was tender which I enjoyed. The baked chicken was a good size and the chicken was cooked perfect. I didn't try the chicken gyro but it looked great. Overall, would recommend.

Food was a large portion with good flavors. I got the pork gyro I was surprised they didn't have lamb. My first time not seeing lamb on the menu for gyros. Service was nice. I am the only one in the restaurant right now so I can't complain about that. Menu is limited but not restricting if you want a variety. I say come and try it out I don't feel disappointed.

This place is so good! At first I was confused why they didn't have lamb but the waitress quickly explained the history of mediterranean food. The service was excellent and the food had so much flavor and The serving sizes are huge! I can see this place being the ruin of my belt Buckle. The chicken and veggies were fresh! The falafel was not overly fried at all! it was just right and absolutely delicious. Another thing, the wrapping they use to wrap the gyros is amazing. Usually it's a balancing act between me taking a bite and everything falling out of the Pita. I was apprehensive at first because the place was empty. I thought I got set up by my fiancé! But now, people are just sleeping on this authentic tasty spot. People do yourself a favor and pick yourself up a gyro.

Great food, especially the chicken gyro and the tomato salad (go with the tzatziki sauce instead of the mayonnaise sauce though). Edita is always friendly!

For the price, authentic flavors, and food quality this is one of the best Gyros I have been to in my life. Came on recommendation from family member and absolutely loved it. Came with my inlaws and my son who is a picky eater, he enjoyed as well! Cant wait to return with my wife in the coming week, and any other time we are in the area!

The pork gyro is the best gyro I've ever tasted. Literally amazing. If you're ever in the area and tired of Italian food, this will not disappoint. Friendly service too. 5 stars, all the way.

Beautiful looking corner restaurant. Staff is very friendly and the place looks like it can get super busy. I stopped in a bit late, close to closing for a pick up order. They still had a few tables occupied and it looked very clean. I ordered a chicken gyro with fries. The chicken was so flavorful. Deliciously seasoned with a tasty tzatziki sauce, fresh tomato, lettuce and onion. The gyro was filled to maximum capacity. It could get super messy, luckily they packed me a fork to help out. The fries were ok, nice and hot, but they were crispy coated. Not my favorite, but that's just my preference. Super delicious food, great atmosphere. Looks like a phenomenal date spot. I'd come back here often.

I ordered $60 worth of food and did not like anything. Falafels were dry, hummus had no flavor, tzisiky sauce was sour and feta fries were burned and we couldn't eat them.

ordered through app for food. great value got shawarma, hummus, grape leaves, falafel all for $22. and they all came with pita and sauces. portions are large and quality good. the shawarma was a bit differently seasoned than i'm used to. the real stand out was the falafel!

The food is ok but, no where near the best in my neighborhoodbut The folks that work there have a bad attitude. I was going there every day when they 1st opened. No one said thank you or hi maybe I'm not the right race. I'll spend my money elsewhere.

I ordered a Chicken Kebah with a side of Hummus. I was expecting the hummus to come with a olive oil and a dash of paprika but i didn't get that. It was a take out order so that could've been the reason.

We enjoyed a birthday at Avenue Gyro. The staff is very friendly and the portions are generous. The Greek yogurt is THE BEST! Definitely a new favorite for us!

We and another family went yesterday. It was perfect! The service was very attentive and friendly, and the food was excellent. We ordered the calamari, hummus and falafel for the table. All were incredible. As entree we ordered the salmon and the pork kebab platter. Out friends ordered the pork gyro. We were all very happy. The portions were generous. The salmon came with rice, and the platter came with rice or french fries, spicy feta, flat bread, tzatziki and salad. All was great, but the spicy feta was a perfect. We would go again and would certainly recommend to all.

I got a chicken gyro; was one of the best and largest I've ever had! Packed with goodness, quality ingredients and flavor. Fast and friendly service. Would highly recommend this restaurant to others!

They advertised a gyro but didn't even provide tzaziki sauce when we ordered it, and it wasn't put together. The chicken was dry and flavorless. This is the worst gyro I have ever eaten. Their menu is misleading and the food is overpriced. I will never order here again.
