"Elgin-based pizzeria Aviator Pizza opened its latest location on 4005 West Parmer Lane in late April. The far north restaurant is currently only taking pickup orders placed online, but it is opening its beer garden for dine-in service starting on Memorial Day, Monday, May 25." - Nadia Chaudhury

We visited this place for both lunch and dinner and were pleasantly surprised. The pizza was quite tasty, and the variety of beer was impressive. There were outdoor tables and even a playground, so the place was filled with families with kids. Since we always travel and go out with our cat, we prefer restaurants with a park-like outdoor setting, and we didn’t know such a place was so close to home. Our cat really enjoyed walking around while we waited for our food. The staff was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was great. We were very satisfied and plan to visit regularly.

We went on a Friday evening. We ordered a pizza, mozzarella sticks and beer. All were great. The crust on the Chicken Fajita pizza was very soft, the ingredients were fresh and great quality. We liked the ordering system using Toast and from the phone. They have a large selection of craft beers (50 choices) from local breweries. I'd love for them to add additional hefe, lager and amber choices to their selection. They have ample indoor and outdoor seating. They also have outdoor live music on some days (the Friday night we were there they didn't have live music). There is a play area for kids (in my opinion suitable for ages 3+ years).

Excellent pizza!! First time we ordered the one with Garlic and if you are a Garlic lover this has plenty of it. So tasty!! Second time around one with artichoke along with a bbq chicken. So Good!!

Google
Great place to get pizza and drinks with the family! Big play area for kids outside. Big selection of craft beers. Great soda selection. Had to go with the OG Pepperoni pizza since it was our first time here. The pizza did not disappoint! My wife enjoyed the South Austin style pizza. I’m looking forward to coming back to try other pizzas!🍕

Google
We really enjoyed our pizza! The proteins were plentiful--ham, and pepperoni. The sauce was just right, and the crust had a great texture. The employee at the register was kind and patient with us as first-time visitors. The only negative is about the chairs. They definitely will prevent you from hogging a table all night! I really wonder whose idea it was to go with tall metal chairs.

The food is always so great. And what I really love about this place is the outstanding customer service! Everyone is so nice and helpful, upbeat and eager to assist. I have only ever done carry out but I am going to have to come and dine in because there is just this awesome vibe every time I come and pick my order up. See y’all soon!

Google
Update: Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse is great! The crust is so good and because it’s close to work, I go regularly. Not a fan of the chilled brussel sprouts but the pizzas and sandwiches are delicious! I did like the cinnamon and pecan dessert pizza. (Not sure if they still have these) Large outdoor patio and large beer selection.

Google
Tried the Chicken Fajitas Pizza here and to my surprise, it was absolutely delicious! I ended up gobbling down two slices—even though I had pizza just the day before at a different place. The flavors were spot on and really satisfying. The only downside was the ginger drinks—they were way too strong for my liking. But apart from that, the place is fantastic for food and has a great vibe for families. Kids will have a good time, and you can actually enjoy your pizza in peace. Definitely worth a visit!

Yelp
Dynamite happy hour deals and highly reasonable prices outside of that. You've got vegan cheese and loads of unique toppings to chose from, not to mention the almost overwhelming number of taps for those who imbibe. The people here are wonderful, too; I ordered pizza for pickup and was told it would be late, but for my patience, was offered free soda while I waited. A perfect example of good customer service, if you ask me! It's a really great hangout spot. Seems like there are regular trivia nights and other meetups. Super family friendly with a playground outside, too. Definitely a case of having something for everyone here.

Yelp
We really enjoyed our pizza. It was our first visit, so we weren't familiar with the menu or sizes, so we were happy to find the counter employee to be friendly and helpful in making our pizza decision. The pizza arrived with a good deal of ham and pepperoni--it was nice to see that they weren't stingy on the proteins. The texture of the crust was enjoyable--I ate crust and all! Also, the red sauce fit well with the cheese and toppings. The dining room is large and the tables can accommodate large groups. They're is also setting outside that does the same. The only drawback inside are the chairs. They are metal high backs, no cushions. I can't imagine spending the evening with friends, just enjoying the beer and atmosphere, after dinner because I don't want to sit in those chairs for a long time.

Yelp
Local pizza place with lots of draft beer options. My in laws like to come here because they have amazing salads. Yes, i said salads at pizza place. But they have great "big salads" if that's your vibe. Service is always pretty quick, though on weekends they do get busy with families and kids, lots of kids. (They have a play area outside) Also, worth mentioning is their sandwiches. I had a hot Italian and it was very good. No frills, just classic and yummy. Nice place for large groups as they have long tables and you can self order.
google avatar

Yelp
Amazing pizza. Even non-crust eaters will go all the way! Easy to order online from your table and avoid the counter line. Menu is EZ to understand and service is quick. Great selection of both white and red sauce pizzas or build your own. Salad selection good too, but live life on the edge-put those veggies on a crust and add cheese! Obviously a popular place, we went before 6 on a Friday night and it filled up quickly. Seating available outside. Heaters burning on a cool night and you can watch the kids work up an appetite or burn off the calories on the playground while you partake in an adult beverage. Very family friendly place with picnic style tables and lots of napkins!

Yelp
I met two of my friends here for some food and drinks. Parking is a shared lot, so definitely plenty of spaces. I ordered cider, they had at least six ciders on draft which is really nice. There's also plenty of other drink options to include alcohol, soda, and water. I am gluten and dairy free so I got their gluten-free Hawaiian pizza made with vegan cheese. Overall, the pizza was pretty tasty. Only thing I don't like is that you have to get a 12 inch pizza if you want gluten-free. It was just me that was eating, so that's quite a bit of pizza. My friend got regular pizza. They also really enjoy their pizza. There is an outdoor patio area, they were doing trivia the night I went. It was very busy for a Wednesday night. Overall, it was a nice place to catch up with friends and grab a bite to eat and drink.

Yelp
Delicioussss pizza, some of the best I've had in Austin! I always get the Flying Garlic which is great but I know they have many other fan favorites. The parking lot is big and shared with other businesses and the restaurant's outside seating area is big and great for small and big groups. A few other stand outs is that their house made ranch is delicious and the staff very friendly. I was actually eating by myself one time and struck up a conversation with one of the friendly and great staff and they gave me this dessert on the house!

Stefani A.

Yelp
It's my favorite pizza on the north side of Austin! There salads, and sandwiches are fantastic. Don't forget the ranch, soo good! Also there is a playground the kids can play on. Nice staff. Good selection of beer. Overall good place for the family.
google avatar

Chastitie A.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite places to eat pizza and have a great beer! They have so many speciality pizzas it's hard to choose. This is a family friendly environment with a large yard. The best options are endless and they let you taste multiple options!

Yelp
I called in my order pizza was better than expected, trying this place for the first time, promptly delivered by a friendly driver Very good service

Yelp
1st time checking out Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse on Saturday, 09/09/2023 & I really enjoyed myself. The pizzas were sooooooo delicious & made fresh. They even have dessert pizzas..yes, folks..dessert pizzas!! (See the delicious pics included in this review). I definitely would recommend this location because not only do they offer great food, the service was 5+ stars, there's plenty of seating both indoors and outside, it's great for adults w/ it being a drafthouse w/ so many beers, ciders, ect on tap to choose from & tvs to watch sports, and great for kids w/ the outdoor playground. Till next time. Rebecca

Yelp
Ordered 2 salads, small pizza- got these HUGE salads. Was good but was twice the size we expected- no one told us it was a meal! Won't order again! Good thing they do have some Tupps. beer on tap.
google avatar

Parker B.

Yelp
Great pizza with nice servers, and a clean spacious seating area! The major tom pizzas was absolutely amazing with good local beer!
google avatar

Jaison S.

Yelp
They cleaned up the poison ivy directly next to the playground so I'm updating to 2 stars. Poison ivy still exists near the fence line where children play and I've had to tell many disappointed parents. Food still 5 stars.

Yelp
Not sure what has happened to Aviator. I live in the neighborhood and have eaten here dozens of times. The last several visits have been disappointing. The pizza ingredients are getting skimpy. The crust increasingly flavorless. I understand inflation is putting a pinch on everyone but don't take it out on our pizza! Honestly, at a fraction of the price, HEB's self rising frozen pizza has been more satisfying.
google avatar

Mark R.

Yelp
Really hit the spot today! Great service. Great Pizza. Friendly and convenient neighborhood landing spot on the the northside of Austin, near the Domain!
google avatar

Darcy F.

Yelp
Huge salads... great portions. Ordering online is a breeze and easy pick up. I'm not sure why the Caesar Salad has tomatoes in it..but it's a robust salad.

Yelp
This was my second time at Aviator pizza on Parmer. This time I tried the Zilker salad with the Cabernet dressing on the side and the Srichacha Brussels Sprouts & Goat Cheese pizza (to which is added pepperoni). The salad came out pretty quickly and was very good. Even though it was a side salad, I was really surprised that it was served in a small styrofoam bowl. The portion size was smaller than I expected but the were generous with the toppings. The pizza came out shortly after the salad. The timing was good because I could finish the salad while the pizza cooked enough so I didn't burn my mouth too much eating it. I was a little hesitant to try Brussels Sprouts on pizza but they work. They heat and sweet on the Brussels was well balanced especially when you get a bite that has some goat cheese. I have to admit that one of two bites had a little too much Brussels flavor but we finished the whole pizza. The counter service ordering is straight forward and quick. They have a HUGE beer menu, as you would expect from a Drafthouse. The menu also included a few ciders which I'll have to try next time. I sat inside this time due to the heat but really enjoyed the outdoor patio last time. Inside and outside are open spaces with a lot of seating. There's also good music. I look forward to return and trying out the new location in Mueller.

Yelp
Nice vibe and a seat yourself type of place. Plenty of room with a playgrounds for kids to enjoy outside. Pizza pretty good, not the most amazing I've ever had (the crust was sweet??) but overall pretty good. Super great beers on tap selection with like 100 to choose from and free tasting. Great place!
google avatar

Sara M.

Yelp
It was ok. Great for kids and being able to sit down and enjoy people. More then enough space. Pizza was subpar at best. My 10 year old said it reminded him of chucky cheese.
google avatar

Sage O.

Yelp
We got the 9" Honey Sriracha Brussel sprout pizza and added pepperoni. Also the chicken bacon ranch! The toppings were delicious and the dough was incredible. The reason I'm knocking off a star is because our Zilker salad topping to lettuce ratio was bad. There was way more toppings than lettuce. It tasted good but it wasn't amazing. Fun vibes for a group, they have so much space inside and out! Perfect for kids too because they have a playground. We came here for a late dinner around 7 so it was calm, but I can see it getting busy and loud (think Pinthouse Pizza vibes). Overall, I will be back!!
google avatar

Jen B.

Yelp
I like the pizza. It's delish. Problems are they're understaffed and incredibly inefficient. Friday night place is packed. They have one person at the register taking orders and the other person is just taking drinks with no urgency whatsoever. Wtf!!! Drinks r a big markup. Get a dedicated line just for drinks. Drinks person is also manning the phone. I get it they're busy. But one person on phone and one person talking orders??? Who's the manager???
google avatar

Shayer S.

Yelp
Okay service ...they utilize the QR code type of service and servers bring food/drinks to you. Prices are pretty high for what you get. The pizza has unique selections but taste wise it's pretty average but it does the job. Why I really like this place is due to the excellent beer options and the lovely play area outside. Love having the option to bring the kiddo and have him running around while we chill back and enjoy a few beers.
google avatar

Michael B.

Yelp
Been to the SoCo location so tried the Parmer location with folks from work. Like the location, less busy, quick service. The flying garlic pizza was sooo crispy and had huge chunks of garlic that I thoroughly enjoyed. The 9" pizza was more than enough for me but I could see getting a larger one to have some leftovers.
google avatar

Topi H.

Yelp
Upon arrival the service was rough, no matter how nice or kind we were to the cashier she was just short and borderline rude. I understand they don't pay people to smile or be nice but if you're in a customer facing job it might help. There are so many options outside of customer service that she would probably be great at. The guy I dealt with the second time around was awesome - which is why I gave 3 stars. -The food was ok, it did come out promptly which was nice. -The bathroom didn't have any soap. -The play area is pretty clean and fun for the kids. BEWARE- there is poison ivy along the fence line towards the back. We told an employee but honestly I'd be surprised if the message was received. Now the fun waiting period of 12-48 hours to see if my daughter gets a rash and blisters.
google avatar

Amber W.

Yelp
I've been to Aviator three times now and they have not disappointed! The pizza and salads are great and they have an awesome beer selection. I also love that they took advantage of their patio space, as the previous business that was there did not. I don't have kids but it looks like a fun place to bring them. The service has been nice and usually quick each time. Great addition to this area of town!
google avatar

Elissa S.

Yelp
I've been eating Aviator's pizza for about three years now, probably once a month, since they opened. I'm pretty boring -- I get the same order every time. But I've been very pleased with their service. Every time I order, it's fast, fresh, and consistent in its toppings and flavor. So delicious! I've dined here a couple of times when it's the off-peak hours and it's been great. They used to have QR codes for each individual table for ordering, but as of this week, it looks like they dismantled that idea, and you order at the tap counter instead. When it's busy, it's really loud (wish they had some sound dampeners in the ceiling or something) which makes conversation difficult indoors, but the food is so good it's worth overlooking I guess.
google avatar

Yelp
As someone who never wants pizza - i had the strongest pizza craving tonight and wanted something close by! We ordered the focaccia with goat cheese and basil as a starter and the meat almighty. I also had a chile guava cider which was delightful! I love a spicy drink and this was a great cider. The focaccia was my favorite item the bread was so light and airy and the flavors all melded so well! The pizza was also really good and was LOADED with meat! We had the 12inch and together with the focaccia was the perfect amount for 3 hungry people! Atmosphere was great as well you order from your table on toast tab and a walk up bar with tons of local and fun beers and ciders on tap!

JRam C.

Yelp
One of the best pizza spots in Austin, visited multiple times for their flying garlic pizza. They have great collection of beer's on their tap. Ambiance was decent
google avatar

Donna L.

Yelp
First time I was with my coworkers for a going away party of our team member. Atmosphere was cool. The pizza was good. The desserts were good. And the drinks were good. Second time I got a to go order. I thought they had curbside service, only to find out upon arrival that was not the case. (I took a star off because it is not even possible to call into the restaurant and speak to a human). I had my dog with me on one of the hottest days in Austin so I couldn't leave her in the car. I was able to go to the side patio door and a very kind guest offered to stay with my pup while I went inside to pick up my food. All of it wasn't ready, so one of the servers brought it out to the patio for me. I got the focaccia and a salad and both were delicious!
google avatar

Kara M.

Yelp
My fiancé and I have been here 3 times now, and we enjoy our visit every time. The pizza is good, the selection of beers and ciders on tap is pretty phenomenal, the soda selection is great as well, and the vibe of the place (Parmer Lane location) is family-friendly and fun! This time, we ordered The Lazy Goat and the Buffalo Chicken pizzas. The Lazy Goat gets a 5/5 - it was perfectly balanced, and I loved the artichokes and goat cheese with red sauce. The Buffalo Chicken was just okay, I'd give it a 3/5 - it was as expected but left you wanting something more. In the past, we've tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch (3/5), Ground Control (4/5), and The South Austin (4/5). The focaccia bread sticks are also good! Overall, it's a nice place to drop in after work or to get Friday night pizzas from. When the weather is nice, it's fun to sit outside - though I can't recommend the high top table chairs, as they are quite uncomfortable. We will definitely be visiting again!
google avatar

Kali M.

Yelp
I was super disappointed in this place. The 2 starts are simply for the vibes/atmosphere (great outdoor patio area) and the incredible beer selection. *beer selection alone 5/5* The service was meh. We came here with my girlfriends' mom. Mom ordered the pizza, cheesy bread and a drink for herself and we ordered 2 beers on our own tab. First issue we had; The pizza came out and it wasn't right. But we assumed mom ordered it that way. She wasn't at the table when it came out. It came out with pepperoni and sausage and it was supposed to be pepperoni and mushrooms. No one realized it was wrong until after eating a whole slice each. By then it was too late but oh well, it was still good. 2nd issue; the marinara came out ICE COLD. We brought back up to the counter to let them know it was cold and if we could have it heated up. We were informed all of their marinara is stored in a mini fridge in little plastic containers as a regular way of storing and serving the marinara and there was no way for it to be heated up. Never heard of such a thing... what sociopath wants to dip their hot cheesy bread into ice cold marinara?? 3rd issue; and this one's a doozy. They place a $50 charge on your card to keep your tab open and it will be refunded to you in a couple business days???!!! I ordered 2 beers that came out to $18 maybe... Mom only spent like $30 and some on her tab. We both were charged the "hold" on our bank accounts even though our actual bill was significantly less than $50. When asked about this issue we were informed it's due to larger party's keeping big tabs open and canceling their card before having to pay for their check or something like that... I understand that's a major problem and issue for the restaurant.. but penalize other patrons? I can't think of any restaurant I've ever been to that does that. God forbid I ordered 2 beers under $20, but didn't have $50 in my account..does that mean my card would've been declined? I'm not sure if it works that way or not.... But I think if more customers knew about that sneaky "charge" or "hold" on their account I'm sure you'd have more angry customers. If I missed it, my bad. But, there should be a sign stating this practice to let customers be aware and understanding of what's happening when they decide to dine-in and keep a tab open. I don't live in Austin or in Texas so it doesn't matter anyway, but I would not come back.
google avatar

Joseph M.

Yelp
I can't say I'm impressed with much here. The 3-stars are really just for the waitress who brought us our food. She was really nice. Other than that, the place was...blah. I mean, the large photo on the wall was eye-catching. But what REALLY caught my eye was the huge stacks of empty pizza boxes that was atop the "dining room" tables near the kitchen! Now, I get it... they needed to put them somewhere for all the to-go orders they fill. But, there's got to be a better location besides the very place where people are supposed to eat. Now, speaking of eating, let me address the food/drink. For drinks, they have a fountain station with some "all-natural" drinks, and some regular drinks. I prefer the regular drinks. As for the food, the pizza isn't worth the price - to me. While I did appreciate that the buffalo chicken wasn't extra spicy, the pizza wasn't hot - AT ALL!!! Probably will only come back if I'm invited by another party.
google avatar

Chris C.

Yelp
Our company has a happy hour even here about once a quarter. I always bring the wife and kids. The pizza is really good. Always fresh and delicious. They have a huge selection of beer and in the late afternoon, we generally don't have to wait long in line. There is also a huge outdoor area with a playground for the kids. They occasionally have live music. Definitely a must visit.
google avatar

Mark S.

Yelp
Good pizza but the room rings with a din cacophony, an unbearable tinnitus disaster. Get it to go!
google avatar

Esther A.

Yelp
Super family friendly with outside play area for kids. Lines were a little confusing. I ordered the major tom, pepperoni was very crispy but the veggies were a little undercooked would've preffered them a bit more cooked. The meat almighty was better, pepperoni was crispy and the cooked ham was very tasty (i dont usually like ham that much!) The dough was doughy, and floppy.
google avatar

Yelp
I love pizza; I can eat it every day! This is a saying that comes up frequently in my pizza reviews. In my younger years, I ate pizza all the time. When I eat pizza now, I want to ensure I'm truly treating myself. Aviator is a great place for pizza treats. They have a variety of pizzas, salads, and a wide variety of beer on tap. I met up with a friend for dinner and a catch-up. My friend is gluten-free, and there was a crust option for her and plenty of salads to choose from. We shared the Green Belt salad. This was very generous and a lot for both of us as a starting. All the toppings of the salad were chopped up. I like a nice lemon dressing, so this was great. I really like arugula and was excited to try the South Austin pizza. Arugula, prosciutto, and goat cheese are a few of my favorite food things! This sounds perfect on a pizza. The crust is crunchy but chewy and perfect for dipping in ranch. The inside of the restaurant has long community tables. The outdoor seating has high-top community tables and several picnic-style tables. This place is great for kids because there's a play area. I had been there once before with my family. The apple doesn't fall far from the tree. My son loves pizza, and it's even better if there's a play area.
google avatar

Omar M.

Yelp
Great atmosphere and beer selection on tap! We love the family friendly scene here and it's proximity to the local community. It really is a neighborhood spot for the locals to gather and relax with friends and family. The outdoor dining area has a playground and they also have music and game nights during the week in which you can participate. There's even a playground for our little one to enjoy. Aside from their beers and ambiance, their pizzas are also amazing. Be sure to give them try when you're in the area. Just don't accidentally walk away with their cool pint glasses. Don't be that guy or gal!
google avatar

Collin M.

Yelp
Came here for Trivia night on Wednesday. Was a fun place to hangout the host was great. Inside they had a lot of TVs and games on. Outside was where the trivia was and it was spacious and there was a mini playground for kids. They have qr codes so you can order from the patio benches and get served super quickly. Was a great spot

Yelp
I need more than one hand to count how many better frozen pizzas there are at HEB than aviator. As a pizza connoisseur who lives across the street if this place is ever brought up in conversations around the neighborhood, I implore anyone to go here. My neighbor Dave is a pain in my ass and I wouldn't even recommend it to him. Big opportunity lost here in the neighborhood due to the inability to make simple, average pizza. I'm not even asking for anything special, this pizza is the worst I have had in this city and it isn't even close. Do they even cook the pizza with the toppings on top? When you pick a piece of the pizza up, the cold & sad toppings come spilling off the sides into your lap. Its so fake it tastes like they got the toppings from a 3rd world country and dumped Splenda on top. Because it's convenient and has a solid beer selection, I'll surrender 2 stars. Anything above 2 stars you are lying to yourself, the pizza is disgusting.
google avatar

Sonia F.

Yelp
Great place for kids! Pizza and beer were delicious. Quick service and casual dining experience.
google avatar

Priya S.

Yelp
Stopped by for lunch with a friend I got the lunch pizza and salad. Their salad was surprisingly pretty good. I'm a bit picky on the pizza part as I felt it was pretty flavorless. Customer service was also good the employees are very nice.
google avatar

Wayne N.

Yelp
Great family friendly pizza shop. There's a playground in the back which your kids can run free while you enjoy some great pie. The pizza here is pretty great. They're generous with the toppings and the crust is plenty flavorful and texture is great. We got the meat almighty and it is loaded with meat of all sorts, yet the crust holds up to it all without being overly bogged down. That said, don't sleep on the calzone. I would argue it's even better than the pizza since it is less cheesy and more balanced, with ranch and marinara to dip on the side. Cheese bread is also really good. All in all, every neighborhood needs a pizza shop like this.
google avatar

Jennifer N.

Yelp
Great to finally have such a family friendly place in the neighborhood. This location never really was able to sustain any establishment. Aviator is great addition to the area. The food is good and there's a great play scape for the kids. We love seeing all the neighbors out here. The cinnamon sticks dessert is one of my favorites. I love the new set up with ordering at your table with multiple parties. It's a great set up and nice to just enjoy ordering at the table when you need something. The take out option is also available and we love to do that on a cold night.
google avatar

Zach O.

Yelp
Aviator has good pizza. I think that really sums it up. This pizza didn't really blow me away, but it was still good. I think my favorite part is the fact that they have so many different options. That is attractive enough to make me want to come back and try them. And the pizza is good enough for me to want to. But with that said, I won't go out of my way to get it and I wouldn't put it at the top of my priority list. Overall though, it was good!
google avatar

Steve R.

Yelp
Great pizza, lots of interesting toppings. Huge beer selection with lots of local options. Good space inside and out. The kids play area is great for the littles to enjoy with the meal.

Yelp
2nd favorite pizza in Austin! I love pizza. If I were choosing my last meal it would be a toss up between pizza and beer or filet mignon and merlot (or Shiraz). I digress...pizza...it must have a great crust-never EVER soggy, a well-balanced sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. Lastly, the maker must not skimp on the chosen toppings. Well done, Aviator! My friend and I shared the "pizza of the day", and it was fabulous (though I don't remember the name of it). The crust had that initial crunch followed by the perfect chewiness. We each had a light beer with hints of blueberry-um...yummy! Aviator is new to this location, and still getting established, so it was dead inside. I suspect this will be a popular lunch place for nearby companies such as Apple, Oracle, etc. There is a huge outside play area for those of you who have kiddos-great for birthday parties. I prefer quieter places, so it misses the mark for me regarding atmosphere. You can see the pizza makers through a glass window, and the kitchen appeared clean. There are ample choices of beer and lots of great food options too. I've been twice and suspect it will be a fav of mine. Give it a try. Let me know what you think.

Yelp
After a week of going out nightly on my continued Epic Austin Food Tour, I needed a night in because I had an early morning flight. Found Aviator Pizza on DoorDash and gave it a try and so glad I did! Though delivered, the pizza came fast and most importantly, fresh and hot. I ordered the Ground Control pizza and it was perfection! It had so many great toppings and it was incredibly fresh and not oily. I like that the crust was a bit thicker as I don't love thin crust. The side of ranch was huge. I also got the Cinnamon dessert sticks. Personally, didn't like them; they were on the dry side. Auntie Anne's taste much better. You could get it with more icing but I didn't realize it would taste better with more. I'd skip this next time and hope they come up with better dessert on the menu.

Yelp
Today, I ordered a to-go order for pick-up so I could do yet ANOTHER lunch and learn... how much learning do I really need to do?????? I ordered two items: the caprese salad and the black olive and caprese pesto grinder. Caprese- Caprese salad is a simple Italian salad, made of sliced fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and sweet basil, seasoned with salt, olive oil, or balsamic vinaigrette. This is a menu item that really can't be 'messed up'. It is simple and to the point. This caprese was accompanied by a side of vinaigrette. Black Olive and caprese pesto grinder- This item was unexpectedly good. This meatless Monday treat contained black olives, mozzarella, red onions, baby spinach, and a Roma tomato pesto base. This sandwich provided a balanced mixture of sweet (from the tomatoes and red onions) slightly sour (from the mozzarella) and earthy (from the pesto) bites. Although hearty in its contents, this sandwich was actually very light on the palate. #supportlocal

Yelp
On this deliciously lazy Sunday, the darling husband and I knew that pizza was just the only thing that would do. Jersey Giant Pizza, he suggested? Quick, easy, cheap, and reliably tasty. Closed on Sundays, I lamented. DeSano's, I countered? His eyes lit up, but then I remembered that, although we adore DeSano Pizzeria Napoletana to bloody distraction, we should probably try something brand-new for a little variety...and for me to review! Why not? Enter Aviator Pizza & Drafthouse! Local? Check! Solid reviews? Check. Hubby's a helicopter pilot and trying out this place is, therefore, too hard to resist? Check. Cute pizza names? Check. Yummy pictures? Check. Let's do this! (Note: all three are takeout 9-inch pies with no mods, except for hubby's deletion of the green peppers on his Ground Control.) The Greek: this one was my flavor profile to an ABSOLUTE T! It reminded me a bit of Joe's Pizza at Star Pizza in Houston, but better! A riotous feta, pesto, artichoke, basil, mushroom, and kalamata olive party on a crust! Hugely flavorful! This goes on the culinary Rolodex post-haste! The Flying Garlic: very garlicky! Shocker, right? Lol! Well, we are garlic people, so we endorse this pie whole-heartedly! The buttery crust, the garlic cloves, and the feta were just unctuous! Ground Control (minus green peppers): Hubby liked this, but he didn't super-love it. He kept snagging pieces of the Greek and the Flying Garlic. I asked him what his least favorite part was, and he said that it really wasn't fair to judge it on such a small pie. He wants to give it one more shot with a larger pizza! His theory is that small pizzas make the fillings hard to shine. Makes sense! As I write this, though, he's literally humming Ground Control to Major Tom as he kicks back on the couch playing Call of Duty: Cold War with a warm and happy belly, so I consider this a solid win. We'll definitely be back soon to dine in! Thanks, Aviator!
