"Aviv, a Middle Eastern vegan restaurant in Portland, is closing all its locations by the end of September. Known for its vegan shawarma fries, hummus, falafel, and sabih, Aviv has been a staple in the Portland food scene since its inception. Despite opening a new location on Madison last month, the pandemic and other challenges have led to the decision to close. We tried the NE Killingsworth location last week and were very pleased! My husband and I are both omnivores, but love Middle Eastern food and flavors. Neither of us missed the meat at all! Spot on spices, interesting textures, and creative dishes. This will become a regular on the rotation! Delicious!

Yesterday was my second time eating here and wow! It was even better than I remembered. I had the falafel plate, carrots(incredible) and tried a oil/chile hummus that was delicious. Slightly pricey but the flavor does not disappoint in the least!

Props to the proprietors of two Portland gems for making delicious Israeli food and never giving in to the bullying of bigots. Live well and eat well at Little Aviv!
