We took a group of 20 people for dinner and the food was beyond delicious! Andrew provided great customer service when I was making the reservation and working through the details for the special evening. Both Athena and Kathy provided great customer service and patience as they worked through our orders, and ensured people's allergies were taken into consideration. Furthermore, Kathy was very patient and kind when it came time to pay for our dinners. I cannot recommend this place enough, both for their food and their exceptional customer service!

Great food and a cozy vibe! Definitely one of the more slept on options in the area. The service is great and the quality is fresh. Definitely on the more pricey side for the portions you get but well worth it once in a while. Looking forward to the next time I’m back to try out some other options!

Delicious food, superb service, beautiful atmosphere. The grill platters are a fantastic deal—generous portions of such a wide variety of high quality dishes that you could almost forget to eat your main course. My favorites were the succulent and comforting artichokes and lentils, and the crispy Greek fries (somewhere between lemon potatoes and French fries, with crumbled feta). But I’d be remiss not to mention the fresh pita and tzatziki dip, which are so much better than I could make at home.

First time picking up dinner for 3 of us. BEST GREEK EVER!! Superior taste, clean and the quality is 5 stars! So glad they exist and so close to home :)

Fresh food. Most was super tasty. We ordered a half chicken, a lamb shank, and grilled halloumi, which were all delicious. The romaine side salad was basic and good. However, the lemon potato’s and the lentil and artichoke side dishes were both pretty bland. The pita was also not great, but decent enough. Staff was friendly but obviously they needed one more server. We say outside in their backyard, simple and pleasant. I’d return for sure.

Nice little Greek eatery with mouth watering food. While I enjoyed having my lunch there, the layout of the restaurant and the service was a bit awkward. It's a small place with five tables in the front of the restaurant, we were being seated in the middle and I could hear every conversation from the left and right table. Given the size of room, the hard wall and glass window probably bounced the sound a bit too efficiently. The table by the windows was perhaps a bit too close and therefore the window amplified the customers' conversation and bounced it back to the middle table. That was a bit annoying. Another awkward moment was while we were waiting for our food, there's no complimentary pieces of pita bread or olives to pick on. Last, please fix the door. It's winter time and the wind is strong. It's weird and borderline rude to ask every single customer that enters to slam the door shut. The room gets really cold because of the draft. On the plus side, the food was prepared with care and the result was really high quality delicious food. The wait was a bit long but it's worth it. That brings it back to why it was awkward when there's no complimentary olives or bread on the table.

Kinda wack. Service wasn’t good, waitress was just standing their talking to another customer, over and over again. Like get it together you’re the only waitress working. The food was also noting to write home about. It’s was fine at best, everything taste pretty good but I prob won’t come back when when there are better Greek options in parkslope

Been wanting to come here for the longest, particularly to see what all the fuss is about. Authentic Greek food at its finest. Chicken Souvlaki, freshly cut tomatoes and cucumbers and lettuce was fresh. Had side order of lemon potatoes which were just sensational and a side order of lamb gyro, also delicious. It’s a TEN all around with exception of one small infraction- the pita bread consists of dairy! No other Greek restaurant that I’ve been to serves pita w/ dairy in it. Wasn’t too fond of this but everything else was excellent as per the photos and I’ll def be returning. Lastly, customer service and attentiveness was above par!

It's been a hot minute since I've Yelped. That said, I have time today. Avlee is my go-to delivery spot when I'm craving a gyro. It took me years - and I do mean years - to find a spot that makes them this well. The meat is always seasoned perfectly, the tzatziki is on point, and the fries are a nice touch to gyro. Avlee is also a fave when I host and want to order out. The Greek fries are my favorite side, because who doesn't love fries - but the other sides are also fresh and delicious. Lastly, and very importantly, make sure you add both a lemon luxe and cherry luxe soda to your order. You will not be disappointed.

We ordered delivery and the food was delicious. Working an 18 hr shift the options available here were greatly appreciated. Had the whole bronzino, half roasted chicken, and roasted veggies, all solid. I'm sure under proper circumstances the food would be amazing. Seasoning on veggies and chicken were awesome. Will definitely return to dine in person.

An authentic family owned Greek restaurant offering delicious food . We started with the hummus dish with fresh pita. It was fresh and flavorful. We also had the Keftethakia. Meatballs in a tomato basil sauce. These were by far the standout dish. The meatballs were tender and hearty and simmered in a simple sauce. We also had the Spanakopita. They also did not disappoint. The Mousaka was robust with a mixture of flavors, onions and tomatoes. Service was excellent and assisted us with our selections. The restaurant is small and cozy, and there were many people picking up orders to go. I highly recommend Avlee if looking for authentic greek dishes.

My impressions just reinforce what others have already shared. Beyond the menu, staff friendliness stands out. This restaurant balances cost and quality effectively. I've tried across the menu and found no disappointments. If I could, I'd make this a regular spot!

Avlee Greek Kitchen in Carol Gardens is a family-owned Greek restaurant serving affordable platters and gyros stuffed to the brim. We shared the lamb souvlaki platter and the gyro pita. Our preference was for the gyro but both were generously portioned. We recommend this for a casual dinner or weekday takeout meal

Nice restaurant close to the F/G station, you can park on the street, and there are buses that go down Smith. The menu is confusing; they have a code for vegetarian options, but that includes fish roe and octopus. If you want to be sure, just ask about the item you're ordering. The lentil soup is a good hearty portion, and the spanakopita is excellent. Lots of filling, well mixed and prepared (I.e. they don't just toss big chunks of feta with frozen spinach and call it a day like some places do). They were out of the beers on the menu but the house wine was fine. It smelled a bit strange in the back but in the front it was fine, so probably not something that happens often. Relatedly? single stall restroom in the back. Fast and friendly service. Pay cash to avoid a 4% surcharge!

I stopped into Avlee Kitchen for a Souvlaki. I had a seat and I enjoyed my lunch. The Pita Bread was very fresh, the pork was tender, and the Tzatziki sauce well made. I am deducting a star for two reasons. The restaurant needs a thorough cleaning, and there is 3% upcharge for credit cards. My bill will a bottle of Seltzer was $14.85. Thank U next!

I eat here often and have never had a bad meal. All the traditional Greek dishes are done very well. Generous portions, lots of variety, friendly service, and reasonable prices. One of my favorite casual places.

I've been to Avlee twice and the food is both tasty and plentiful. When I first went, plenty of people popped by for takeout, but there weren't as many people dining in. That wasn't the case this second time, when it was packed by 7:15 on a Tuesday. Good for them! My go-to is the chicken souvlaki platter (although it no longer comes with the bright, tangy sauce that accompanied it the first time) and you get to choose from many great sides. The horta revithia (kale and chickpeas in chicken broth), okra in tomato basil sauce, and gigandes (white beans in onion tomato dill sauce) are all stewed down, comforting, and flavorful. I also enjoyed the lemon potatoes even though they were a tad drier than I would've liked. All their platters also come with salad and warm, fresh pita accompanied by thick, garlicky tzatziki. Sooo good. The Greek yogurt with sour cherry compote.. was the perfect way to finish my meal. The yogurt was tart and creamy with a surprising density, and it went perfectly with the sweetness of the sour cherries and syrup. They also sell an amazingly intense sour cherry soda, and this is coming from someone who doesn't normally care about soda if it's not topped with ice cream. On my first visit I bought two: one for there, one to go.

This is a fantastic place with traditional food that I've enjoyed for over 12 years. The food is always incredible, and I love bringing my family here. I highly recommend it to everyone because it has a warm, inviting atmosphere with delicious Greek spices.

Avlee is a consistent restaurant! We've been coming here for the past year since we discovered and there's not even 1 time where we had anything bad to say. It's authentic quality green food, great portions and flavors always on point I recommend this place to every single person that wants a place to eat around Caroll Gardens and I'll continue to be a recurrent customer because I love it! The owners are extremely nice and the service is always good. 10/10 place!

Love this place! Some dishes are better than others, but there's plenty of options & variety. Wish they served tahini sauce and that the salad dressing was slightly less sweet. But, all in all, great food. We'll continue to revisit when we're in the area.

The three of us went to Avlee last night for dinner as per Nicole B.'s fantastic recommendation and we enjoyed every bite of our meals. Desserts were also ordered and everything was absolutely delicious! Avlee Greek Kitchen is accessible via the F/G Train to Carroll Street and then walking up a short distance to the restaurant. Server Stephanie greeted me with a warm smile and directed me to our table. Once all three of us were present, Stephanie inquired about and we decided on our orders - decisions were made to get different side orders with our platters so that we could taste one another's side dishes. Each Platter comes w/ Pita Bread w/ Two Side Dishes + Salad. The Following was Ordered - Psistaria (Grill) - Gyro Platter - Lamb, Beef w/ Herbs + Spices Chicken Souvlaki Platters - Skewered Chicken Sinotheftika (Sides) - Artichoke & Lentils braised in Cumin + Corriander Greek Fries w/ Feta Cheese + Lemon Oil Dressing. Kritharaki - Misko Orzo Pasta w/ Grated Kefalograviera Cheese. Horta Revithia - Sautéed Kale, Roasted Chick Peas, Shallots in Chicken Broth. Spanakorizo - Sautéed Spinach, Rice, Onion, Dill. Okra Glyka (Desserts) - Baklava - Walnuts & Almonds wrapped in Phyllo w/ Honey + Syrup. Yogurt w/ Sour Cherry Compote. Such a Spectacular Meal - Everything I ate seemed to have been made with the freshest ingredients, seasonings, sauces, etc. Stating that there was raving about the meal throughout the dining experience would definitely be an understatement. I could not stop thinking about the next that I will be coming here for dinner. I was blessed w/ the opportunity to taate desserts that others ordered and the Baklava + Yogurt w/ Sour Cherry Compote were both so good. If you want to try some fried pita and be blown away, Avlee Greek Kitchen is your friend. We ordered the "spread pikilia" [$19]- three dips of your choice served with either grilled pita, fried pita, or cucumber- for the table and it was just wow. I think everyone's favorite dip was "Tzatziki"because there was the least of it left haha. We also shared the fried "kalamaraki" (calamari) [$12], but it was a letdown because it lacked flavor. Maybe the grilled option would have been better... Since we got "Greek fries" [$7.50] for the table, I asked for regular fries as the side for my main dish to change things up. And also because the "Greek fries" were too soggy... like poutine but without much flavor. The only good thing was the feta cheese wasn't too gamey. Unfortunately, the "pastitsio" [$19] that I wanted was not available so I settled for its neighbor on the menu, "moussaka". But not just any "mousaka" - vegetarian "mousaka" [$19]. Since I found such delight in the fried pita, I thought I'd try another new dish. Alas, it was way too healthy for my taste buds. I normally don't like red wine but the bottle of 2011 Harlafatis [$30] that we had didn't have much of a yeast taste. Parking wasn't too bad. We found a few spots within a block or two away from the restaurant on a Saturday night.

Awesome food! The lemon potatoes melt in your mouth; I don't live in nyc anymore, but I dream about these and always come back when I'm visiting.

Tasty Greek food! We got the spread pikilia to start off, which was 3 dips (we chose the fava mani, taramosalata, and tirokafteri) + pita (we chose grilled). My favorite hands down was the taramosalata which had fish roe in it, but wasn't a fan of fava mani as it tastes like some sort of hummus and I recently got tired of hummus. However, the fava mani was my bf's favorite. Then we shared a mousaka with greek fries as a side. It was my first time trying mousaka and I knew I was going to enjoy it because it has a lot of cheese! Overall the food was solid but not sure if I'd come back often since it was kind of expensive for the portions.

Been here twice already and both times it was very enjoyable! The atmosphere is very causal but inviting. A few tables up front and a few in front of the open kitchen. The wait staff was lovely and the service was awesome. I got the gyro platter with lamb and it comes with 2 sides. The meat was delicious and honeslty you can not go wrong with any of the sides. I think the next time am going to get the sandwich with fries, maybe the chicken....everything was so tasty and fresh anything will be good. My new Greek go to:-)

Really loved this place. We have ordered for delivery several times now and the food quality is very strong. Great flavors and spices in pretty standard Greek cuisine. Especially love how they do greens. The folks who work there are great too. We inadvertently ordered take out instead of delivery on Caviar and Caviar would not switch it. So we called the restaurant and they immediately had one of their own delivery guys deliver it to us. Highly recommended!

Authentic flavors and quality! Tried Avlee for the first time tonight and as a native Greek I will be back! The octopus and Moussaka were our favorites! The team working was so kind and were working hard!

One of my favorite restaurants! I have been a long time customer for at least 2 years. The owners and all the employees are very welcoming and kind. The restaruant is cozy and intimate. I have had the roasted wild salmon, shrimp (grilled and on skewers), spanakopita, fava fritters/falafel, 3 dips of my choosing which is usually tzatziki, hummus, and baba ghanoush, which comes with cucumber and triangular pita wedges, fakies/lentil soup, Greek fries, and baklava. The food and service are excellent. It is well worth a visit.

Favorite place to grab food in the neighborhood. Love the kritharaki and spanakopita and gyros. Wish they were open later on weekends but so 100% recommend going, even if only for takeout.

Really phenomenal, high quality Greek food. I've ordered a bunch of stuff here for pickup orders and it's been consistently good. The chicken skewer platter is an incredible portion for $17 with chicken, pita, salad, and two sides. There are a lot of choices for sides but I usually opt for the orzo (good and filling, but a little bland) and the lemon potatoes (incredible). The chicken could be a little less dry, although overall it's a nice size skewer and has a good flavor. Last time my boyfriend and I ordered he had the gyro and the meatballs and I had the gyro pita and avgolemono soup. The soup was fantastic and the gyro pita was as well, although I have a slight bone to pick with the fact that my gyro was about $9 and his was $5.50 and mine was a significantly smaller portion of meat. Although mine came with lettuce, tzatziki, tomato, and onion, it seemed like an artificially high markup for what was realistically close to half the portion of meat. The meatballs were like $10 and only came with three small ones. All in all, pricing is weirdly irregular. This can either be a super cheap delicious lunch or an expensive delicious lunch depending on how you decide to order. That being said, all of it is great food. It's counter service on the inside with some tables which is a nice way of eating in a more casual setting. Will definitely get again.

Eyes closed, the food is so good you'll think you're in a memorable taverna. Eyes open, it's a well-managed Greek take out spot with friendly, professional service, decent decor and casual ambiance. Highly recommended for the whole branzino, dips and salads.

I was out with a friend a couple nights ago and the restaurant we'd originally planned on turned out to be temporarily closed. My friend suggested Avlee because she'd heard good things. At first I had my heart set on Italian because that's what we had planned at first, but looking at the online menu for Avlee I thought it looked nice, so we decided to give it a try. It turned out to be a great idea! We were seated in the back garden (it's pretty small, just a few tables - but they had room for us). Our server was very nice and we greatly enjoyed everything we had. I had a glass of wine and we shared a Spanakopita appetizer. For my entree, I had moussaka which comes with a garnish salad and your choice of side. I got the sauteed spinach, which was delicious. There was something baked in there (some spices maybe? Couldn't quite identify it) that made it extra-flavorful. And the moussaka was wonderful. I hope to get back here again before too long!

Went here with a friend after reading many great reviews about this place. After perusing the menu, we decided to order the trio of dips and went with the tzatziki, eggplant, and hummus--they brought out an order of the spicy feta too, along with pita. The pita was good and the dips were all tasty. Our favorite was definitely the tzatziki followed by the hummus and eggplant and then spicy feta. For our main dish we split a gyro platter and a chicken skewer platter with sides of grilled veggies and greek fries. The chicken was definitely the most lackluster part of the meal as it was overcooked and lacked flavor. However, the gyro made up for it as it was so tasty and the portion size was large. Both the Greek fries and veggies were very good and big portions as well. Overall, this was more than enough food for the two of us and it came to almost an even $50 total--which is a steal. Food also came out quickly and wait staff was friendly and attentive. Definitely worth checking out if you're in the neighborhood.

AMAZING Greek restaurant in Carroll Gardens area. The authentic Greek food served here is simply outstanding. From their Greek fries to gyros sandwiches, pies, and saganaki cheese, every dish is amazing. You won't be disappointed with anything you order from their menu. The service is top-notch as well, adding to the overall experience. I LOVE this place and try to get food from here at least once a week. If you live in the park slope/cobble hill area and have not tried this place yet, do yourself a favor and TRY IT OUT NOW!!!! With love, Ricky.

STAY AT HOME, EVERYONE. FLATTEN THE CURVE!!! This place's menu is interesting dichotomy. You look in from the street, and it looks like a cozy sitdown Greek restaurant. You walk in, and the open kitchen is situated like a hot food station counter. Then you look at the menu, and the prices are all over the place. You can get an $8 pita sandwich, or a $28 baked fish. There was even a $42 salad with octopus (for two). I wasn't feeling too fancy, so I just went with the chicken souvlaki pita. Got it loaded with all the fixins, so definitely had that raw onion breath for the rest of the night. Portion size was great, and was a hell of a deal. There's not much of a waiting room inside (and it gets pretty warm cuz of the open kitchen), but luckily the sandwich was made pretty quickly (it also looked like they were busting out delivery/takeout order like mad. Would definitely come back for a proper full Greek meal!

The food is delicious so this is not a slam on the taste. I do not eat in the restaurant because I find it too bright so this is a review for delivery. I have ordered from Avlee a half dozen times and always the same result of skimping or missing sides. This particular order which was $70 didn't have any tzatziki despite paying for three of the dishes that offer it on the side. It is difficult to eat dry meat without the sauce so it pretty much ruins what would be a tasty meal. In addition the amount of salad dressing they give you is so small that it is only enough for a quarter of the salad. For this reason I order extra for $1 but the extra is so small that it only fills the other half of salad. I don't mind paying extra but the amount is less than a tablespoon. As a side note the dressing is very good which is why I order the $20 salad in the first place. Unfortunately I have to make my own dressing to have enough which defeats the purpose of take out. Check the bag and stop skimping and you'd have a five star and weekly order from me.

* 5stars = i (would) love to come back again...and again and again * We came here for lunch on a saturday afternoon and it was surprisingly not crowded -- and after eating there i cant imagine why but hey maybe we can keep it nice and quiet. The sides you get when you get an entree or a platter are smaller than ordering it by itself -- which was good news for us because we got to try more things on the menu! We got: - tzatziki 10/10: YUMMMMM. Do yourself a favor and get it. It was the perfect start of our meal on the hot sweltering day - gyro platter 9/10 (with the following two sides): meat was really good and the flavors were great. Also loved the salads that came with it (and the other entree we ordered). Our only woe was that we didnt get any more pita with it (but maybe we had to ask? Who knows) - spanakorizo 7/10: our least favorite if we had to pick just because we didnt know what to expect and wasn't quite sure how we felt about it..? My first time having it but it was a little underwhelming in terms of flavor (but maybe its supposed to be..who knows) but next time i'd rather try any of their other yummy-sounding sides - grilled veggies 8/10: these are literally all my favorite vegetables and i loved having them as a side to my meal. By itself, i think it could use a litttttle more flavor and a little less oil - pastitsio 8/10: for those of you (like us) who are having it for the first time -- imagine a non-saucy less-cheesy lasagna. I love pasta so i really enjoyed this, and again that side salad was yuuum - greek fries 10/10: we'll probably get a real order of this next time because YUM. The fries were a perfect texture and the oil+cheese were a really nice addition

It's been almost four years since I first stopped by Avlee, and in all that time, they haven't let me down yet. While I've known they had the real deal Greek food for a long time, I didn't realize what a great delivery option they were until recently.* First of all, if you order a gyro platter, you will get enough meat to feed me and six of my wives. Not that I have six wives, I just meant that the one wife I have doesn't eat that much meat, and we could feed her six times over with the gyro platter. I'm not a polygamist. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Secondly, in addition to all that meat (and the accompanying fresh-baked pita), you can also get all kinds of sides and dips. And I'm not talking about some mere "eggplant dip," I'm talking about the real deal Melitzanosalata. Get yourself some Kritharaki, all the Horta Revithia, a little Taramosalata, and rejoice. I am partial to the gyro meat, but I think I'm going to branch out; I can't wait to try the Keftethakia and the Arni Youvetsi Kokkinisto. Because if there's more than five vowels, you know it's legit Greek. We have eaten here several times in the past. I don't know why it took me so long to finally write the review. This is truly a lovely spot. Dine out back if weather permitting. We always order the same way here. A mix of small and large plates for sharing. Everything is good, everything is fresh, and everything is prepared with care. OPA!

Truly a banger! The platter is ginormous and will have you stuffed for hours and hours. What a deal. The chicken platter with lentils and fries are my go-to and everything tastes so home-style, I love it.

I've come here many times in the past. Today is my first time returning in about 2 years. We had the grilled red snapper with the Greek fries. Omg the food was sooo good. And Adrien our server is a sweet heart I'd return just for him . We had warm pita bread . At the end he brought the check with a sweet treat. Loved that added touch

What a gem. The space is nice a cozy. It looks like they have a yard for warmer weather. The staff and chef were very warm and friendly. The food was delicious! Everything I ate was great and we tried almost everything they served.

The food is between 4 and 5 stars, but the unmasked staff left a bad taste in my mouth. If you are really concerned about covid-19 or are at a higher risk, probably best to avoid until a vaccine or change in restaurant policy. I personally justified it by watching them prepare my food for takeout. Not much guidance regarding masks or social distancing inside, but the owner seemed willing to bring the order outside when it's ready. Their food is excellent but I can't in good conscious come back here. In a city where there's been enormous loss as a result of the pandemic, I can't in good conscience support a business that isn't part of reasonable modifications for the well-being of us all. I hope they see this and do better, because the food is wonderful, and they are locally owned.

Hands down: AMAZING! We arrived hungry, fresh off a 5-hr drive from Boston, and had our hearts set on Mediterranean--goooood Mediterranean. We weren't sure what to expect given some of the older reviews that claimed small portions, but we ignored those and took our chances. Two of us ordered gyro platters and one ordered the 1/2 chicken. Our sides were fries, kale (w/chickpeas), and grilled veggies. Everything was remarkably tasty and the portions were substantial. If we lived here, this would easily be a top 5 go-to! Fast and friendly service, too. No pic b/c we were in heaven and enjoying every bite . This is my first review on Yelp--simply had to combat some of the other older reviews about this lil gem.

One of my favorite neighborhood go to spots for really good Greek food, the people who work there are so kind too! The salad is one of the best I've ever had and their house made dressing is great. Shrimp platter is always consistent and you get two sides + a salad.

Wow the food here is sizable and quick! My friend and I decided to go to this place for lunch on Labor Day and luckily they were open. We both ordered a platter - hers was the lamb and I got the chicken souvlaki. Each planter comes with two sides and a salad so needless to say we were very full when we left! She got fries and beans while I got grilled vegetables and fries. We didn't finish everything by a longshot! They also gave us pizza for the table to share with tzatziki dipping sauce. It's a great local spot for delicious food and quick service, so I will definitely be back.

I went here with a friend because she kept telling me how amazing it was. I had a falafel wrap and it did not disappoint! It was so wonderful. And it wasn't too expensive. I also got the Greek fries as well. I probably wouldn't order those again, but I definitely go back to this restaurant. The service was good too. I would recommend going for sure!

There aren't many good Greek restaurants, that being said, when you find one, you need to tell everyone you know about it. This is now one of my favorite restaurants. Everything is so fresh, flavorful and delicious. I highly recommend it. We ordered and shared a few apps and entrees. Some of the highlights were the grilled halloumi cheese, the puff pastry with cheese, the chick pea fritters, and the gyro platter which comes with 2 sides. This place is usually busy so come ahead of time, once you try it, you'll know why it's the neighborhood spot.

Delicious food, generous portions, beautiful presentation and a very cute backyard! We love this place--it is healthy and has a huge menu that always leaves me wanting to come back to try new things! The grill platters are delicious and come with pita, sides, salad--at least two meals for me! Highly recommend this gem!

Delicious food and wonderful staff! Avlee is one of the best Greek restaurants around!

OMG this place was amazing! It is really tiny, but so so cozy and delicious. We had reservations and were seated right away. Honestly did not try a single thing I did not like. We were all talking about how fresh the bread, the meat, the spreads and the salads were. So many delicious spices and just so good!!!!! Everyone had something different and loved everything. For starters we got the bread with the spreads - tatziki, hummus and babaganoosh - COULD NOT GET ENOUGH and the gyro bites were phenomenal! The meat literally melts in your mouth!!! I had the chicken kabob with 2 sides - salad & kale w| chick peas.. sooo good.. the fish that my friend had was cooked to perfection. We tried several other sides - greek fries w| feta cheese - umm you cannot go wrong with feta cheese on fries!!! The home styled potatoes were also delicious. Cannot wait to come back here! I love greek food and this place is definitely at the top of my go to list!

I don't find myself in Brooklyn often, but last weekend my wife and I were exploring the town luckily stumbled upon Avlee! Greek food is one of our favorite cuisines so we were ecstatic to see other great reviews before stopping in. My wife and I split some fried calamari with our friend we were there with. It was very tasty, especially with the dipping sauce (I'm not quite sure what this sauce was, but we could have drank it that's how good it was). We got our usual dish that tests a new Greek place for us - the Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich/Pita without onions. The chicken was fresh and cooked really well, while the Tzatziki sauce was just right. I think my favorite part was the warm and delicious Pita bread. While there are a ton of other places to try in the area, it will be tempting to skip out on them to go back to Avlee!

great food with good portions and friendly service. so much variety in the side dish options. i love a meal that isn't just meat and fries. the lentil and artichoke dish was great and the gyro was stuffed. I'm definitely returning to try the loukaniko and gigandes!

Every neighborhood should have a simple and delicious Greek restaurant run by a family of enthusiastic and sincere people. I rang tonight and mom picked up. I was going to pick up food on the way to visit my brotherfrom the F train but it was a lousy connection and noisy in the subway. So I picked a few things asked her to make up the rest of dinner. When I got off the train everything was ready, hot and packed for me to bring to family. Oh and yum. Lovely people, wholesome food.

This is one of my favorite places for lunch! The food is great and the menu is so diverse you can try something new even if you eat here 7 days a week! I think by now I have tried about 2/3 of the menu and I have never been disappointed! If you go here with someone who you are ok sharing food with, I recommend getting a few different appetizers and sharing those if you want to try more things rather than getting one big plate! I would say 3-5 appetizers depending on which items you pick! The fava fritters are pleasantly surprising! From the entrees, the moussaka is one of the best I have ever had! The entrees also come with a salad and a side! My other all time favorite is the fried calamari, they also have grilled calamari if you prefer that! All in all, totally recommend this place if you haven't already checked it out!

Best Greek food I've ever had, 10/10. Ambience is amazing, service was fantastic, couldn't ask for a better dinner.
