An Avocado-Everything Restaurant Lands in the Village | Eater Montreal

"An avocado-everything pop-up has touched down on a Village strip of Ste-Catherine Street: Avo Montreal opened on February 16 with a menu entirely devoted to avocado — toasts, wraps, grilled cheeses and desserts — and is run by Salvatore Armonia, who says his goal was to "bring culinary novelties to Montreal." Operating out of one of the Zizipop outposts, its toasts are creatively gussied up (one with ricotta and truffle honey, another with beet hummus, eggplant and feta), and it also offers avocado-filled wraps, grilled cheeses and desserts made from an avocado cream. While it is apparently the only spot in the city with a menu dedicated entirely to the fruit, I found the concept slightly anachronistic given avocado's ubiquity and mounting sustainability concerns — yet devotees remain and the occasional $12 toast will likely still sell. Avo Montreal is open Wed–Sat 11 a.m.–9 p.m. and Sun 10 a.m.–3 p.m." - Valerie Silva

Let start by the positive, the food is tasty, it looks goods and flavours are different from other place, nice mix. It was delicious. But portions are a bit small for the price. Waiting time is too long to get a table and to get food then. Service was ordinary, waiter seemed lost... but he was friendly. Also the interior of the restaurant should be renovated to something more modern and much nicer. It’s old school. At least you won’t be disappointed by the food.

The food was delicious and the service was friendly. I had the grilled cheese Avo Caprese and it was amazing - filling and fresh. The desserts were also surprisingly delightful. We millennials will definitely not be able to buy houses now that Avo is open.

Loved the salmon, avocado and boiled eggs. The dessert yummy; had yogurt, granola, fruits and honey. Service very good 😁

Best wrap in the city! Delicious & filling. The ambiance is uplifting & the service is excellent. Also, I was skeptical about avocado in desserts but it's actually incredible. Definitely check out this gem while you can!

Wait was very long. Constant banging of front door got annoying after the 10th time. Found the portion lacking horribly for the price. Had to go grab a sandwich elsewhere to feel full. The flavor was okay but you have to realize, this is easily made at home. You have to offer something more than that if you're going to charge just shy of $15 for stuff on a 1 piece of bread. Sorry, I won't be returning here or recommending it.
