Despite its smaller size, there’s plenty of seating both inside and outside, making it a great place to grab a quick sandwich, relax, and catch up with friends or just get something to go. They offer daily specials, with a separate menu for those, which I think is a nice touch. I was impressed by their gluten-free bread option, which held up well and didn’t get dry or fall apart—always a concern with gluten-free options. The bread still had great flavor, and the sandwich was packed with all the right ingredients: plenty of meat, fresh lettuce, tomato, and just the right amount of mayo and mustard, so the bread stayed intact and didn’t get soggy. The customer service was outstanding as well. I was warmly greeted when I walked in, and the staff gave me great recommendations for what to try. As for gluten-free options, I’m not sure if the facility is entirely Celiac-safe due to potential cross-contamination, but it’s definitely a good choice for those following a gluten-free diet. They also offer some solid vegetarian options, which is a nice bonus. While the sandwiches are on the pricier side, the portion sizes are generous, and the quality is there. My sandwich was big, and it came with a side of chips. Everything was delicious and flavorful, and I can see myself coming back to try other sandwiches from their menu. The smoothies were also fantastic, adding another reason to return. Overall, it was a great experience, and I’d definitely come back to explore more of what they have to offer.

it’s rare for me to give all 5 stars but this place is so delicious. the food is always amazing. i love the ladies that work there. they are always so friendly. & the atmosphere is great as well. i love the way it looks, ill have to take a picture of the inside next i go. you have to try the pineapple express drink. & the sandwiches are delicious. again, this place is a 5 for me. if it wasn’t so far from me, i’d be a regular !

We took out some breakfast, and all of the dishes had a fantastic taste. The food is freshly made and so creamy and rich! I recommend trying this place out!

I love trying to find new coffee shops all the time, and a coffee shop will especially get my attention when I see that they own a La Marzocco machine. Unfortunately for this business, I was really disappointed in how my latte came out. I always order a plain latte (just milk and espresso) so I can decipher how the beans taste and how well the barista operates the machine. The shot that was pulled was over-extracted, meaning it had a burnt bitter taste to the beans. Another is that the pull was very watery, so the nice beautiful brown color you normally should get in a latte was not true for this cup. It looked almost like I had ordered an americano with a splash of cream, it wasn't appealing. Lastly, the oatmilk that was used wasn't a great brand either. Normally it is easy to tell the brand of oatmilk that is used based off of the texture and the creaminess of the drink. So this cup had a bit of a grainy texture to it, with some of that grains falling to the bottom of the cup. In all, I wouldn't recommened coming back if you're only coming for a coffee. The staff is super friendly and the environment was very welcoming. So, I give this place 3 stars because I didn't try their food, only their coffee.

Lunch on Monday was a total win! The food was delicious and healthy, and they had a huge selection of smoothies and juices. Even though it was lunchtime, our food came out super fast, and the staff were really friendly and helpful. If you're in the area and looking for a healthy bite, you should definitely stop by—it's worth it!

Definately not as great as it used to be. Less quality Ingredients; stale bread way too much mayonnaise and avocado all mushed up and brown, lettuce brown. Won’t be going back used to be a favorite place

This is a small place it's a bit hidden around condominiums. It's worth the drive...very friendly staff. I chose the summer salmon wrap..wow it's just perfect for the summer as the title indicates. This wrap did not need any sauce it had lemon juice. I wish it had more salmon but after I was done I think it was just right.We sat outside enjoyed the fresh air. Cant wait to try something else from the menu.

This breakfast and lunch cafe is conveniently located off the main road. There is ample street parking for 30 minutes just outside the restaurant. It is an excellent place to grab a breakfast sandwich coffee or smoothie.

Cozy (what appears to be) family-owned cafe. Prices are reflective of the inflation era, but the Tower 9 sandwich and Hot Chai Latte were delicious. Services was kind.

I'm updating my review and dropping it to 1 star because I witnessed workers making food in the back with their bare hands. They would put together the sandwich and handle all the ingredients with their bare hands, scoop out chips from a costco sized bag with their bare hands, AND THEN go up to the register and handle money all without washing their hands at all. I feel so sick knowing I used to eat at this place. Unclean. Not worth it.

i pass by this place all the time when i'm walking my dog and finally stopped to try it today. Went around lunch time and it wasn't too crowded and there was still spots to sit. i ordered the tower 9 chicken salad sandwich and it was SOO GOOD! you have the options of chips or one big pickle, i usually give my pickle up to someone but i was solo today so went with the chips ! the lady who made my sandwich must've made it with love because it tasted perfect. they also have so many fresh smoothie options and you can see everyone doing their thing from chopping up fresh fruit to layering sandwiches perfectly. will definitely be coming back here

I've been coming to the Avocado Cafe Irvine on a couple occasions now and really like this little hidden gem quite a lot. Came across the Avocado Cafe while taking a friend to JWA with time to kill for breakfast being so close to the airport. They probably have one of the best breakfast burritos and I wish they were a little bit closer to my place but definitely worth going out of your way! The Avocado Cafe serves fresh and healthy food including sandwiches, salads, smoothies, juices, and drinks and not to mention a variety of coffees! FYI, their Tuna sandwich (formerly known as the Avocado tuna sandwich) was even voted one of the 9 best avocado dishes in Orange County by OC Weekly. The cafe offers a fast casual dining experience with a cozy ambiance inside and out and I definitely prefer the outside patio seating! 5 stars for reasonably priced and tasty food plus friendly service! I'II be back! Enjoy and Bon Appétit!

The place is located next to the high rises apartment. Their squaw bread and the cab bread is good. I got the spicy chicken sandwich and it wasn't spicy. The avocado was only hit on one side and not both side.. and also.. no prices .. 15$ for a sandwich.. gotta say it was big. The staff and owner has a smile and good customer service. The big menu with the chalk writing needs some numbers!

Food here is amazing! Freshly made and filling and healthy! Another one of a kind places that I will definitely come to and recommend.... Ambiance is awesome hearing old music that I can have as my playlist... oh those wooden tables and chairs are so comfy! A MuST try! Service is Superb! Very friendly all smiles and helpful! Came for an early lunch with my daughter. Our sandwiches were fresh food was made quickly. Service was nice. It's a very small place so not a lot of seating. Parking is a little bit weird in that area. Did not care for the coffee.

Not to be dramatic but I would absolutely do anything for Avocado Cafe. Such a delicious and filling sandwich with a cute outdoor seating area! Service was quick and the owners were super sweet. Love the decorations and plushies at the cashier. Summer Salmon: 5/5, there was actually a lot of salmon in this wrap and it tasted so refreshing! Would totally order this again. Tower 9: 5/5, loved how filling this sandwich was. The sprouts and mustard carried in terms of flavor and texture. Everything stayed intact! Not a big fan of sandwiches that fall apart so this passes! Nutella Latte: 3.5/5, tasted like a nutella latte, strong, yummy coffee flavor but it was hard to get nutella in every sip, probably wouldn't order again to try something else!

I don't ever leave reviews nor complain, I've been going to this place ever since living in Irvine for the past 3 years and I received my order today and my eggs were super soggy in the breakfast burrito I couldn't eat it so I decided to try the other half of it and see if it was any better to just find hair in my burrito that I had to pull out it was overall the worst order I've ever had

Their toasts are really good and very filling. I like that they use fresh ingredients and food is flavorful. It's healthy-ish and having it for lunch leaves you feeling light and not too full. I have only had their toasts as delivery but it's still packaged very well. My favorite is the toast with chicken, poached egg, avocado, cheese, And arugula. The cheese is a big too heavy for me so I take some off and it could use more arugula but love that they include fresh watermelon slices with your toast. The egg was poached perfectly. Next time I will try their sandwiches! Would recommend for a light, healthy-ish meal.

this place is great! the service is always great and their sandwich's are good quality and refreshing to eat. They are also quite big, typically half a sandwich can fill me up! The fresh chips and pickle are also great. I recently tried their nutella latte which is also pretty good. I've tried The Tuna & the Kissels club sandwich so far and both are very good. they have indoor and outdoor seating. Overall a great place to get a sandwich, it's also very quick. would definitely recommend. overall it's a 4.5/5

Perfect little caffe in the middle of an apartment community. My bagel was actually extraordinary, super fresh and crunchy.

Their posted hours on their door and website are incorrect. Supposedly they are open until 4pm every day except Sunday, when they are closed the entire day. I arrived at 3:40 on Saturday and the cafe is closed with no one in sight. No sign or explanation posted on the locked door.

The owners were so very nice and accommodating. It's a small to go place in the most modern apartment complex in Irvine. You might close your eyes and think you are in New York. It's a great neighborhood. And you have to love healthy good. Lot's of great choices and places to sit outside. With all these positives, I don't think I will ever return. The sandwich I ate was delicious. The price was reasonable. The server was a kind owner. The location is near my home. Instead of being a regular, I vow to never return to this place. What could possibly keep me away? The restaurant was a complete mess: dirty, food on the floor, broken tables. I had to rearrange a set of chairs and wipe everything down. Whoever manages this restaurant does not like to clean, and I mean ever clean. One of the dirtiest restaurants in Orange County. No thank you.

This place honestly had one of the best sandwiches my sister and I have ever had! We were blown away by how delicious the food was and just how huge the portions were. Their menu had a lot of variety and we ended up going with the Chuy and Basilico sandwiches. The staff was extremely kind and welcoming to us as it was our first time. There was plenty of seating inside as well as a few tables outside. I will 100% be coming back and I HIGHLY recommend this place.

Four stars for the food but bumping my review up to five stars because the service was so good! I'm guessing it must have been the owner because he really put in effort to providing excellent service! We came here for an early morning breakfast. The place was pretty quiet at 8am on a Saturday. It's counter service and we placed our order for the salmon toast ($12) and avo toast ($8.75). The salmon toast came on squaw bread and had two poached eggs, cream cheese, spinach and some basil pesto drizzled over it. The avo toast had tomatoes, two poached eggs and sprouts on wheat toast. Both came with slices of juicy sweet watermelon. The food was nothing fancy, but everything was fresh and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Prices are reasonable too! Will try their breakfast burrito next time I'm in the area. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

Decently priced. They load with fresh ingredients it's very fulfilling. I recommend the build your own bagel sandwich with the sun dried tomato cream cheese and the tower 9 sandwich. Definitely come for their sandwiches but skip out on their smoothies, very average for its value.

First time visiting, Pretty extensive breakfast menu, The owner was very accommodating to make my wife and IA regular breakfast with scrambled eggscrambled eggs, bacon bacon sausage and toast to go. I have no idea how this place has such high reviews. My experience was disappointing, to say the least. I ordered the BLT and the tuna salad, and both were extremely underwhelming, barely deserving 2.5-3 stars. To top it off, the total came to $40(including 15% tip), which is outrageous for such mediocre food. I expected much better given the rave reviews.

I got the avocado salad with tuna was excellent. The dressing was super thick and tasty. The portions were a good size everything was fresh. Parking a bit hard to get because it's in the middle of apartment homes. Service was great. Will return again They have small seating area but lots of places to sit outside.

It's great for a quick brunch run! The place is very small so we ate outside with the family. I built my own lox sandwich on everything bagel sandwich. You can never go wrong with this choice. It's always delicious!! The green house salad is also fresh. I added the chicken but it wasn't grilled chicken, it was sandwich deli chicken cut up into smaller pieces. I was a little surprised with this option because usually the chicken is grilled or rotisserie. I am trying to stay away from deli meat. Also we added the breakfast burrito. It's not so greasy which I like. Other additions was the sunrise smoothie which splashed all over the ground since my son spilled it. I didn't get to taste it much :( It was a healthy breakfast run for our family.

This is a tasty whole in the wall type of cafe. It's in this plaza by some nice apartments in Irvine. Worth the find if you are looking for high quality ingredients. Everything was fresh and tasted very good. I only gave at four stars in the bathroom was out of order and I believe customers should be able to relieve themselves at a place selling smoothies looks like they offer delivery so if you're in the area and want a delicious breakfast or lunch sandwich along with a nice juice or smoothie this is a trustworthy place to order from

i've had breakfast here and their smoothies as well. i don't think they do online orders but calling them is easy and they are usually fast. the food is good for something quick and easy. customer service is good too!!

Walked about a mile to get here because the hotel I was staying at charged an arm and a leg for breakfast and this place had good reviews! I ordered the chicken and poached eggs on sourdough toast. I was pleasant surprised at how good and quickly it came out! The lady at the register was sweet but I guess $13+ dollars now is the standard for something like that now. I ended up eating outside because the interior seemed a little dirty. The tables were disorganized and cluttered.

I came here recently and really enjoyed the wrap that I ate. It's located near an apartment complex on Jamboree. I ordered the Summer Salmon wrap which was delicious. It had smoked salmon, feta cheese,cucumber, and greens. It was very flavorful and reasonably priced. The owner was very friendly. Why only 3 stars? The inside of the restaurant was dirty. Dirty floors, dirty,tables etc.

I love visiting avocado cafe for weekday lunch or Saturday breakfast. The owner is so gracious and really cares about his customers. The food is always so good! I highly recommend the KISSEL CLUB. The sweet taste of the bread with turkey and avocado...absolutely delicious. There are a couple tables outside that offer shaded dining and they'll bring your food out to you pretty quickly.

My first time here. It's a hidden gem. Tucked away in a residential area. Very beautiful setting. There is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. Perfect for social distancing. The staff is warm and welcoming, especially the owner, Mark. I ordered the Avocado Chicken Salad and ice coffee which they made fresh for me on the spot. I appreciate the care that went into this. Avocado Cafe is one of the options for my company's lunch delivery services. When placed against another option for that day, I usually selected this spot because of it's consistency and delicious, healthy salads. Avo Classic (salad) - Tuna, avocado, greens, cucumber, sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, cheese & sunflower seeds. This item is one of my favorites because of the nice mix of fresh greens and tuna, which serves as a good protein alongside it. I usually select Italian as my dressing of choice. It isn't overly oily and nicely balanced. The tuna is always consistent and has never been smelly. Albacore stuffed Avocado (salad) - Tuna stuffed into an avocado shell, tomato, sprouts, jack cheese and spring mix. The albacore stuffed avocado in this salad is no joke. They actually cut an avocado open and stuff tuna salad into the middle. Personally, the only thing I'd remove or ask less of is the cheese. But otherwise, if you are hungry and are craving a salad, this is worth the try! I've tried and enjoyed a few of their sandwiches including BLTA and tuna. But with how filling and appetizing the salads are, I typically stick to those. For the price and quality, Avocado Cafe is a great value and worth the try!

Originally my bf and I were going to go to a restaurant next door for a quick workday lunch together, but that day they shut off water for the whole building so only this place was open. It was pretty crowded, but we went in and ordered. We got a burrito and the pesto chicken sandwich. We got our food within 10 minutes and found a table outside to eat. I was very pleasantly surprised by the food here! The burrito was really tasty and flavorful, and the sandwich portion was huge. The pesto was quite oily and messy to eat, but it was delicious. The chips that came with the sandwich were great too, they were thick and crisp. It was a good last-minute lunch choice. I would return again.

Best tuna sandwich I've EVER HAD . I came back the same day to get a full size . The tomato soup was extraordinary. I'll have to come back just for this meal again

Ordered the 12$ breakfast burrito that is supposed to come with bacon and sausage. Asked for no avocado and salsa on the side, but what I received was an egg, cheese and potato burrito with no bacon or sausage and no salsa on the side. This was my first and last visit! Attached photo shows potato skins that look like the color of bacon but there is none to be found! Way too overpriced to miss 2 of 5 ingredients, will not be worth another try.

I work in customer service so I'm aware when the staff are barely helpful. This place has subpar customer service and the owner, an asian guy, is rude as hell. Ambience is good if you're looking for a spot where you can do light computer work. The food is mid. I'm not coming back

I had wanted to get some crepes on the way home after dropping off a family member at the hospital only to find the business was closed on Wednesdays when I was about to input the directions. I had to come up with an alternative so I looked at my saved businesses for takeout in Irvine and decided to go with Avocado Cafe. It was already 83 degrees and the Avo Classic Salad and Tower 9 Sandwich appealed to me. I also liked the business practice of "making everything fresh" and the owner "treating his customers like family". I called in my order before my 12 minutes drive over. The man that answered the phone said that the order would be ready for me and to give them 10 minutes or so. It was difficult to find parking out front. The 10 minutes parking space for pickup of takeout opened up and I was able to park after coming around a second time. My order was ready and after paying I was good to go. Both items were nicely packed with napkins and forks. I don't really like chicken salad, but loved it in the Tower 9 sandwich. The pepper Jack cheese gives the right amount of kick. I never can get enough sprouts. Cucumber chunks are refreshing. Tomato slices were firm and sweet. I liked the mustard as extra dressing. It was an excellent sandwich accompanied by what I think were kettle chips. I don't eat tuna much either, but I really liked it in the salad with the avocado, greens, cucumber, sprouts, tomatoes, carrots, mushrooms, cheese, and sunflower seeds. There really is a difference when you eat fresh, high quality food. Husband came downstairs from his morning meeting to have a quarter of the Tower 9 and some of the Avo Classic salad. The sandwich and salad were enough for us to split 4 ways. He was totally satisfied and said that the food was "fresh". He had to look up where the good, healthy food came from. Looking at the photos, he remembered we had visited maybe 4 years ago. We're so glad to rediscover it.

I only ordered take out from this place but the food was okay. I like the sandwich and the portions are good, salad was a little confusing (idk what other word to use, but you can see in the picture) it's not a traditional salad, but I mean, it's half a sandwich and a salad

Really nice food! This was a great place for us to stop while moving from Portland to San Diego. There are a few designated parking spots that were available when we came. We both LOVED our food and there was nice shaded seating outside. The bathroom was marked as "out of order." We asked where the nearest bathroom would be and were told that it IS working and that the sign is there just to deter grubhub/doordash workers. I thought this was mean. We should be looking out for all the service workers showing up to work right now. Additionally, the bathroom was not clean. Finally, I ordered an oat milk latte and we both think that the one I received is a milk latte (which honestly isn't that big of a deal, it just isn't the type of place I want to get lattes at in the future).

Such good food, the only downside is you have to pay for parking (or at least we did). But the food is awesome, and the staff are nice and friendly. It felt very clean inside, which I liked.

This small restaurant does not dissapoint. They offer a ton of healthy options at an average price. I had the bacon breakfast burrito and it filled me up. I recommend it to those that are looking for a healthier option. Service is also on point.
