Axiom Kitchen Smoked Meats & BBQ

I purchased tickets online to the 2025 Long Beach BBQ Festival, hosted by Axiom Kitchen. I was utterly disappointed after spending 3+ hours just trying to get into the event. There were zero workers directing traffic at the event, no signage, no parking (all lots and nearby parking garages full), no parking info online, and 1 mile + long line of people just waiting to get in. This line persisted for many hours. After trying to share my honest review on their Instagram, my comment (along with 50+ other comments) were deleted and further comments were blocked. This was poorly planned and poorly executed. They took people's money for online tickets sold, refuse to refund and then delete people's comments. A true scam. Wouldn't trust this company with any event in the future.

The Long Beach bbq festival hosted by this company was a disaster. Instead of addressing the issues or complaints and providing refunds due to 3 hour long waits, this company is trying to silence critics and not address the issues. Very disappointing and I would not trust them with your future events.

The meat was so good and tender. The Nachos where just a delight to eat with the meat on top with there sauce. The service was nice and friendly. The was from a event they catered.

Best brisket I’ve ever had! Ate this meal while watching season 2 of The Bear. Definitely going back for more.

Ordered food for Thanksgiving and let me tell you, it was a hit, unfortunately we had no left overs 🙄. I definitely recommend this place.

Drove an hour to this place only to find out it was closed (on one of the only 2 days out of the week it’s supposed to be open) for the 4th of July…on June 30th. Call ahead, this place seems to be more of a catering service than a restaurant

I have been *quite* delinquent at keeping up with converting review drafts to actual reviews - but I feel especially bad seeing this one un-posted still, given it was just in the local news last week, they're putting their popup on temporary-but-indefinite pause because it wasn't getting enough business... hopefully they do reopen, ideally in a proper space, because their bbq is *great*. I hadn't ever been to their now-closed official popup location, but after having heard how great they were for the previous year, I finally had a chance to try them over the summer, at the Beachwood anniversary event. I loved that I was able to buy meat in quarter-pound increments, so I could try two of my favorite bbq meats, brisket and pulled pork. The pulled pork was great; the brisket was probably the best brisket I've had from a bbq place in Long Beach (it's still not Franklin, but *nothing* is Franklin). I also tried their mac & cheese - they only had one size, for $8, but that size was *large*. The mac & cheese was also great. Seriously friendly people, too, so I really hope they succeed in their quest for a brick-and-mortar spot. (And that the quality is as good once they do, both so I don't have to give them a worse review later, and because I would like to have that brisket again! And because they're great people and they deserve to succeed, of course.)

Delicious Texas-style bbq in Long Beach that's putting the area on notice with quality prime meat and unqiue flair. Finally had an opportunity to try them out on a Friday afternoon, and had been waiting all week to treat myself to arguably the best texas-style smoked ribs and brisket in the area. For reference, the last time I had a dino rib was at the infamous Heritage BBQ San Juan Capistrano, and this slightly edges it out. The rib was absolutely delicious with that olive oil dressing, and I also settled on the brisket and candied pork belly, and they all were tender and packed with smoky, savory and sweet flavor. The brisket needed no knife or fork to separate. I had no issue with the pricing because they proudly serve prime cuts, and you can taste the difference in the marbling to the typical choice cut. The wait was quick, and the staff packed everything so neatly--you can tell they work as a family, if not a close-knit team. I've read much about the owners, and it's great to support a business that re-invests into the community like they do.

One of the best BBQ spots I've ever had. The flavor, the smoke rings, the sauce, the quiet table devouring the meal. Everything is delicious. Our friend from Texas also mentioned this was the best BBQ they had outside of their hometown. We ordered our first order through a delivery app and were so happy. The beef rib was truly dino sized. I think my favorite thing was the tri tip. I highly recommend Axoim. Tell everyone you know. I actually think about their sauce, beans and tri tip daily.

Oh Chamorro food! yes I cook it at home, but when I don't, I love that I can actually go someplace besides LV and SD to get some! The service was amazing...the owner and her MIL are just the sweetest (we may be related?? Who knows?!) but the flavor...the flavor! Reminds me of home thank you for bringing a taste of home almost in my own backyard

Axiom is now my go to bbq food. I'll argue it's some of the best brisket I've ever eaten. Staff has always been friendly and quick to respond on social media as well. Location is a little hidden, just look for the alley on Norse Way! We even got a large catering order for a birthday dinner and made a meat charcuterie board. It went so fast I forgot to take a picture! The pork belly is also one of my favorites there. So crave-able. Haven't gotten ribs yet but hopefully will soon. Come out and support this small business!!

I was born and raised in Oklahoma, and I used to go on road trips to Texas, Memphis and Kansas City in part just to find and eat amazing BBQ. Axiom Kitchen makes some of the best BBQ I've had anywhere. Everything I've ever ordered from here was excellent. Also the people who run this local business seem lovely, which is always a plus!

Not the best location but the food was delicious! I ordered one Dino bone ($20) and a 1/2lb of brisket ($16). Both were perfectly smokey and tender and, in my opinion, didn't need any sauce. If they offered potato salad or corn bread I would've tried those as well but I understand the limited menu options given it's a pop up shop. I hope they stick around because the smoked meats were delicious I'll definitely be back!

This family owned business has the most incredible barbecue in Long Beach. It's a husband and wife team, and their children also work there. I ordered from them during the pandemic for the first time and my food was delivered to my doorstep on Christmas Eve! They are north of amazing and the barbecue is YUM! The Mac and cheese is to die for. That candy pork belly and the brisket are two of OUR favorites. We have never been disappointed with any of their food. They have several homemade sauces, kind of spicy for this girl, but the boyfriend loves them. Run, don't walk!

This place is amazing u get wat u pay for and u know me I luv good bbq and the smoke ring ooooooooowweeee and that mustard sauce fire get ur pocket up its not cheap but wroth it food delicious service wonderful again please check them out

We first tried Axiom at a pop-up at Ambitious Ales earlier this year and were very impressed with the food. So when it was time to plan our daughter's 1st birthday this July, we reached out to inquire about catering. Qiana was super quick to respond with a catering menu and suggestions on how much to order based on the size of our group. We ended up getting pulled pork, tri tip, mac and cheese and southern fried corn. The Axiom team delivered to us at the park we set up at (they also use Door Dash) and were right on time. They also provided the sauces and utensils we needed for serving. The only thing I wish they had were buns to make sandwiches with the meat, but it wasn't difficult to get our own. I got so many compliments on the food at the party and we luckily had some leftovers to enjoy for the next couple days after. Highly recommend as a great catering option in Long Beach in addition to their local pop-ups!

finally had the chance to visit Axiom Kitchen & Smoked Meats down at the Family Market at the Lakewood YMCA. They're an awesome addition to the Long Beach BBQ scene and are serving up some super delicious Texas-style BBQ. I got the opportunity to try a little bit of everything. They've got all the tasty meats and sides that slap. Here's the deal. The standouts for me were the Brisket, Candied Burnt Ends, and Pulled Pork. The Brisket was tender, juicy, and wonderfully smoky. The Candied Burnt Ends were a great mix of sweet and smoky and melted blissfully with every bite. The Pulled Pork was very reminiscent of Carnitas for me; which I absolutely loved. The slight crisp from the quick cook on the flat-top grill made it next level. Y'all gotta get down and give Axiom Kitchen some love. Keep an eye on their IG stories for dates, times, and locations. On top of having bomb BBQ, they're one of the dopest families you'll ever meet. Get on down and show these rad folks some Long Beach love!!

I haven't had brisket this good since 2018 when I visited Dallas. The brisket was tender and flavorful with a perfect char. I've had Heritage BBQ, but Axiom brisket is far and away the best brisket. The pork ribs were tasty but overcooked. The rub had been BBQued black. I had to remove the char to eat the ribs. I will definitely be going back for the brisket. Excellent and friendly polite service.

Wow, this place was a pleasant surprise. The brisket was super juicy and smoked to perfection.. and Mac and Cheese hit the spot! Im picky when it comes to Mac and Cheese and they did not disappoint. Had to order some burnt ends to go. Definitely recommend Axiom!

Food is gross . We got the chopped cheese, which was just a frozen burger patty and craft slices. Owners are very negative to feedback.

Had the opportunity to try them at the Tamale Festival in Long Beach today. I purchased some brisket and St. Louis ribs with no sides. The brisket was very good and well seasoned. Good BBQ can be eaten with no sauce and this was Axiom. I purchase a 1/2 rack and these were equally as good. Very tender and excellent flavor. While I have a little left, wishing I'd gotten some more to have for dinner. Service was efficient, friendly and courteous. Great food and want to try some additional items on the menu.

Love this place! Family owned and smoked meats that cannot be beat! There is no brisket out there like Axioms brisket. Their pulled pork is really good too! All their sides am made fresh, their beans are corn are my two favorites!

Tried this place a few weeks ago, after seeing it on Instagram. We had the Dino rib, 1/2 pound of tri tip and the corn and Mac n cheese. The corn and Mac n cheese were delicious! The Dino rib was tender and flavorful. The tri tip was good too. We were greeted politely and didn't wait long for our food. Only issue was the price of the Dino rib...$40. I understand the cost of everything is very high, but it just seemed a little too high. Will be back, but we'll just stick to the tri tip.

It smells great, but that's about where the positivity ends. The staff is rather rude. I walked up to order some food a few months ago, and overheard one of the owners screaming at someone. Being the nosey woman that I am, I tried to listen, and I saw that she was cussing out a young girl, for parking in "her alley." She yelled at her for probably 5 minutes and threatened to "tow her shit" until she moved. I really wanted to try this place, but seeing those true colors was a major turn off. Will not be returning.

My husband and I went to Axiom for the first time tonight. Got pull pork sandwiches and tri tip sandwich. Both were so delicious. Great flavor and generous portions. We would definitely go back. Prices are also really good for all the food. We also loved our mac and cheese and barbecue baked beans. Order from here you won't regret it!

Not as good as earl's bbq. Bbq missing the Texas taste. Chicken was black and didn't look like half a chicken.

Ordered Door Dash both times. Order a bunch for a party on a friend recommendation. It was delicious. Everyone was pleased. Second order was just a fantastic. Will order again. My fav was the brisket, pork ribs and the Dino bone.

This family owned and run business is one of the best out there! The bbq is delicious and their customer service is top notch. It's so good that the first time I went to try their food, they had sold out in record time!!!! So inspiring to see this family take adversity and hardship and make something great for the community! Great food, fabulous quality, and amazing vibes! Cannot wait to try something new next time!

Paid $18. For a brisket sandwich of fat on a hamburger bun. We bought 2. Tried for the first time. What more can be said? From Arkansas, that was no barbecue. Such a shame. Would of been a repeat customer.

The staff was great! Today was my first time with Axiom. I was given a menu and it was too much for me to figure out . They were very helpful ( and patient) navigating me through my order. I got 1/2 lb of brisket and tri tip, very tasty and tender. I also got half a slab of St. Louis ribs that were tender too. My mom is a picky eater but I got her the brisket sandwich. Although she could only eat half, she sat back and gave praises to the cooks thanks for a great first experience. See you soon!

Serving up that bomb-bomb. I first had their ribs at the Lakewood YMCA and then they were at my book release party. Big portions, not skimpy like other bbq joints. Great for family-meal sharing style. The St. Louis style sold out at the party once the word spread that evening.
