"This restaurant, which takes its name from an Arabic word meaning "olive juice" (“aceite” is the Spanish word for “oil”), is constantly developing through its technical expertise and a strong conviction in all its dishes. It features two classic-style dining rooms in which to enjoy impeccable service, plus extra details such as its cheese and digestif trolleys (the latter is very extensive and unusual). Its concise à la carte of traditional and international dishes with modern touches is accompanied by three enticing tasting menus named after olive oil estates: Hacienda el Monje, El Lavadero and Cerro de los Olivos. We were pleasantly surprised and impressed by the superb taste and texture of the dish featuring slivers of foie gras with olive bread." - Michelin Inspector

Andalusia: Restaurants and Hotels with Arab Influences

"A Bib Gourmand whose Arabic name means “olive juice,” this Seville address channels a deep passion for locally produced olive oil through 6‑ and 7‑course tasting menus named after its olive groves, El Lavadero and Cerro de los Olivos. The carefully curated menus showcase the house’s blend of traditional and international cooking, all in a location on Plaza de San Lorenzo in the heart of the old town." - The MICHELIN Guide

I was warmly welcomed by the lovely Isabella, who owns the restaurant with her husband; their son was my waiter. This is a truly charming, family-run place, beautifully decorated with wall frescoes reminiscent of Pompeii. The presentation is exquisite—every dish is carefully crafted and looks like art. The food is delicious, the service is friendly, and everything is explained in detail. You can tell Isabella is passionate about what she serves. There’s even a cheese cart and a dessert cart, and the value is excellent. In a beautiful building in the old part of Sevilla, this Michelin-rated restaurant doesn’t just earn its star—it shines.

We tried the 5 course menu and the food and service were excellent! The staff were attentive and welcoming. We were provided with couple more tasting options outside the menu, which was very nice. The restroom was very nice and clean. What a pleasant experience it was. Highly recommend while in Seville.

Creative and delicious dinner! Def book a reservation as they get very busy. Prices are very reasonable - we ordered off the a la carte menu. The oxtail sandwich, the fagottini pasta and the flower pot dessert were our favorites! Would not recommend the cod tho - felt like it was a bit over cooked and the skin was a bit rubbery. But still overall - a 5 star meal! The food came out really fast too

Came here for a quick lunch and it turned out to be a six course tasting menu that was simply fantastic. The standup dishes for me where the two types of soups, scallops, and the desserts. Service was impeccable and presentation of dishes was delightful. They make a really good and complex sangria too. A few more little refinements here and there in terms of the food and the service and I think this place could get a Michelin one star recommendation.

Google
That’s a steal! We had the priciest 7-course menu with 2 complimentary courses in a Michelin star restaurant for only 53 euros per person. We chose 7-dish menu because we liked these dishes more than from 5 and 6 dish menus. You can also select dishes from on card menu, they are also priced very moderately. Please see the attached pictures with all the menus and all dishes we had. Reservation was easy: we booked only yesterday and the place was full. Service and atmosphere were great too

Google
Had a very nice 7 course lunch, good value for money and excellent wines by the glass - be sure to try the Andalusian wines. The cheeses were completely wild - never tasted so strong and flavourful ones. Would go again.

We have stumbled upon the restaurant by accident during our stay in Sevilla and quickly made a reservation. We have decided for the six course menu (see pictures) and enjoyed every single dish. One of us has several allergies which we shared during our reservation and thankfully all courses could be adjusted with little changes. The service was very professional, great selection of wines and spirits. We enjoyed our dinner very much and can only recommend the restaurant.

Google
The experience was exceptional! The food and service exceeded expectations, with a serene atmosphere that enhanced the overall dining experience. Each dish in the six-course menu was creatively crafted and absolutely delicious. Every bite was a delight, and the unique flavors made it well worth the price.

Yelp
We wanted to visit a fine dining restaurant in Seville and decided on Az-Zait. A bit old fashioned when it came to the service but we had an overall pleasant experience. I will say honestly though we never felt 100% comfortable here. The ambience was very much your traditional, higher class kind of vibe and less down to earth. I would definitely recommend the 8 dish tasting menu (50 euros each) as it was the largest option for a pretty reasonable price. There were a few standouts, one of mine being the Ajoblanco, cold soup. It was amazing and will be a dish I will remember for a long time. It had pop rocks in it! My boyfriend's standout dish was the chocolate blue cheese dusted with powdered gold. Yeah, I said what I said. I would say, however, I wasn't too impressed with the desserts and found them way too sweet. I couldn't even finish my rice pudding drink. Also, overall, the portions were incredibly small and we left feeling like we could have each eaten a few more bites. With that said, if you want to experience a lot of exciting new dishes with innovative presentation, then give Az-Zait a try. While the service was all in all on point, the hostess was really friendly and particularly our favorite person!

Yelp
The food was disappointing. The policy of everyone at the table needing to have the same thing meant I was forced to get the 7 item tasting menu as 1 of 6 people. I did not enjoy the foix gras or the scallop carpaccio. The squid was awful and the beef tartar inedible. The dessert was delicious and the wine list was fairly priced. A cold soup was served with bread and the bread was an extra charge. The servers were attentive and the decor was attractive.

Yelp
Food doesn't get much better than this Michelin restaurant. Gorgeous presentations and an amazing array of flavours. Not to be missed. Service top notch.

Yelp
Wonderful food, wonderful ambiance. The tasting menus are the way to go (with or without the wine pairings) as the courses and additions are selected with care.

Yelp
¡La mejor comida en Sevilla! The service? 10/5 Food? 10/5 What's not to love! Order the following: Cold almond soup - may sound weird but yum yum yummmm!! It's such a delicious soup that I can't wait to try to recreate! They serve it with something like pop rocks that really makes the experience all that much better. Scallops - just wow. Soft egg with potatoes and truffles - really really good. Also almost like a soup but not. The dish is not eggy at all. Really, highly recommend! I recommend ordering tapas style to get a smaller portion and leave room for dessert! And speaking of... Get the maceta de tocinillo, or flowerpot. It's light, delicious, and so creative in plating!

Yelp
Great food, great service. We travelled to Seville and wanted to try Cochinillo (Suckling Pig), it was delicious! Stop at this restaurant while in Seville, you won't regret it. Courteous service.

Yelp
My friends and I stumbled upon this place on a Sunday morning. Most of the other restaurants we walked past were closed at noon. These guys were just opening up and they let us sit even though they needed a few minutes to get the place ready. We were a group of 6 adults and 3 children ( all under 3 years). The staff was very polite. We stumbled along with English and the little Spanish that we knew. The restaurant looked really fancy, like a date night place. Then the menu came and prices looked decent. All the items were translated in English as well. Now about the food.... It was fantastic! Every dish was artfully prepared and served and tasted as delicious as it looked. Most of the tapas items were under 5 euros. The bill was about 81 euros for our group of 6 + kids and we left stuffed. We had the pesto pasta, chicken nuggets, eggs with potatoes, the tripe with chickpeas, the fried fish, the Marsala steak, potato brava and I can't even remember the rest.... Finger smacking good. Seeing our group enjoy the food, the server had the chef come to our table. I think his name was Antoni. I almost hugged him, this was the best meal I had in Spain and on my last day there too. I am glad I got to leave with this fantastic memory. If u r in Seville, you have to go Az-Zait!

Yelp
Best restaurant that we went to in our two weeks in Spain. A little hidden gem in the heart of Seville blew our minds with their eclectic menu including shrimp and cheese pastries, truffled egg with octopus, curried cod with tomato reduction and mushroom cannolleni which was maybe the best thing I have ever tasted. An absolute must...

Yelp
This was an unbelievable meal! My husband and I loved it. Everything was artfully prepared, and the presentation was amazing! My husband had the beef ravioli with cheese which he raved about, and I had the Iberian pork. sensational meal, reasonably priced!

Yelp
This is so far the best restaurant we have tried in Spain, specially in Seville. Fantastic food, great service and reasonable price for a Michelin restaurant. The soup we ordered was so delicious and well presented. We definitely will come back to try other food. Highly recommended!

Yelp
We went as a family of four after making a reservation. It's a Michelin Star restaurant. Personally I don't care about Michelin stars. Good clean fresh food served with smiles is good enough for me. (Michelin stars guarantee the food as much as Grammy awards will guarantee good music. Beatles never won a Grammy so....). First of we reached 7 minutes late and we were condescendingly given a table. OK...I did not say anything. The reception was pretty luke warm. Everywhere in Barcelona and Seville up until then we were asked if this is the first time and some casual niceties happened that made us feel comfortable. And I did not like the smell and feel of this place. Don't ask why. And that matters to me. Wine by the glass. They poured just about twice the volume of the one they poured to taste the wine. I know portions of "wine by glass" is smaller in Europe than USA but come on. This is too little. Obviously we needed more wine. So every time she would pour that little amount of "wine by glass" it was charged. Not much variety of food in the menu. No explanations on what each item means. All tourists don't know the details. I mean why should I do research on every item on google before I come in? And the waiter kept coming back every minute after handing us the menu whether we had decided. Dude. Give me some time to figure out your cryptic menu! Anyway we ended up paying about 100+ euros with two drinks and two waters and four main courses. Won't recommend this place.

Yelp
Four stars......are you kidding me???? Five stars all the way!! We have eaten our way through Spain for two weeks using Yelp, TripAdvisor and recommendations from food tours. This was the best meal we've had. We had the five course "tasting menu" but it was literally a meal and a half per person for a laughable price. The quality of the food and the service was simply superb: everything was well thought out and obviously trying very hard to impress and please. The Cordoban cold soup was to die for. The slow cooked egg with octopus: amazing! The scallops: wonderful!! The wine was poured with an aerator: how lovely and thoughtful!! You had a spritz to clear your pallete after every course You had an amazing Pina Colada frozen ice with a liquor drizzle to accompany your Brownie with whipped angel hair "whatever" with ice cream and chocolate syrup Even the bathrooms were several steps up from other high end establishments we have visited in Spain thus far. This is not a restaurant: it's a destination Put it on your list of places to visit while you're in Seville

Yelp
Delicious tapas! The shrimp & cheese in puff pastry was amazing. Menu in English as well. No more expensive than any other place for tapas, would definitely recommend it!

Yelp
Az Zait offers a unique way of dining. Not only is presentation unique, but the food was very good. I believe it is mentioned in the Michelin guide, but does not have a Michelin Star. We had the tasting menu. I can't quite remember all the dishes, but we had a soup served inside a marble egg that was delicious. Chorizo was served hanging on a clothesline. Although I can't name the other dishes on the tasting menu, they were overall very good. Although I wouldn't rave about the the food, I believe it's worth a visit.

Julie P.

Yelp
Very good food. We did the eight-course tasting menu, and there were many delicious flavors. All traditional Spanish food, but with a twist. The service was not at the quality of the food. It was only OK. Setting was beautiful.

Yelp
We were heading back to Eslava, but it was closed, then we found Az-Zait. Lucky us! Foie gras under glass, scallops, Tapa de Salmorejocon helado de aceite de oliva ! Our waiter, a Scotsman, kept us entertained!
