"The dining room tables are draped in white tablecloths, which gives this modern Indian venue a sophisticated vibe. Several succulent lamb dishes stud the menu, like the slow-roasted lamb shank and the peppercorn mango lamb filet, but vegetarians will also find a plethora of dishes to choose from. Round out the meal with a few orders of garlic naan and a few bites of the lavender lemon cake." - Elliott Harrell

"Azitra serves lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch at its Brier Creek spot, and the menu is unlike almost any other Indian restaurant in the Triangle. Sure there’s naans, dals, and biryanis, but Azitra also has specialties like peppercorn mango lamb, pahadi murgh jhinga khurmani (tandoori chicken and shrimp in an apricot cream sauce), and amritsari salmon tikka in a North Indian-style marinade. For brunch try Azitra’s take on chicken and waffles — pan-friend chicken served over cherry and coconut stuffed naan with hot honey. The ambience leans white tablecloth, making it great for a celebratory dinner or date night." - Matt Lardie

Absolutely does not disappoint! Every time we come here and order something different it’s as fresh and amazing as before! The food is so complex and fresh we always find more delicious items to try. Highly recommend this Indian restaurant to anyone who wants an elevated experience!

I stopped in for lunch and sat out on the patio. It was beautiful. Tree cover and a retaining wall let you feel like you were out of the hustle and bustle and the shade was wonderful. The service was good. I had goat chops with chili garlic na’an. If you don’t like it hot, stay out of the kitchen, because this stuff was kickin’! I had a Hell Yes Ma’am from a local brewery. Very good beer and washed down the hotness nicely! The food had wonderful flavor and was cooked to perfection.

We stopped here for lunch on a Sunday around 1pm. We didn't wait more than 5min before getting seated and drunk orders. The staff was super friendly and took great care of us. We had a few kids under 7yr that were also with us and they had options available. The food was great. I remember trying the Chicken Tikka Marsala & Peppercorn Mango Lamb but we ate family style and I tried many different things. It was great. If you like Indian food this is a great place. I'd expect to pay $45‐$50 per person including tips. Enjoy! We all liked it a lot.

Google
The food was excellent, and the atmosphere was very enjoyable. However, there is room for improvement in the service. It would be appreciated if all guests were treated with equal respect and consideration.

Google
I was in the mood for traditional Indian food and found that Azitra was not too far from me. I ordered the butter chicken, basmati rice, and some garlic naan. Everything was flavorful and hot. I like that their spice levels vary, and you get that authentic meal every time. I have been here about three times already and will continue to visit every time I have that craving!

Google
Food was good but if you like nice friendly staff, lower your expectations. Our waiter, took my friend’s drink order, assumed I was going to drink her wine and just walked off before getting my order. Then didn’t ask my friend if she wanted mild, med or hot spice. When I had just requested mild. Now my friend got mild when she would have chosen med. Urgh. Zero personality.

Google
They never fail to disappoint us with the food, the portions are little less when compared to any other indian restaurants, but the quality makes up to it. Even the samosa chat is elevated and the breads are quite good. Love it always, for last few years now!

Google
Great ambience and service. Food overall was good. The lamb soup wasn't great. The koyla chicken was below average. Made a comment on the mutton soup not being good and got a silence :) lamb chops was great and so was the crab masala. The evening in India as a drink was good too, a little too sweet. For the price, things need to be a little better to get value . I will give it another shot, ( I also had lunch the same day and tea and lunch was great)

Kendace W.

Yelp
Been here a number of times with my family. The food is always great. I usually get the Butter Chicken... it never disappoints. Today I had lamb chops as well and it was delicious. My friend had it for the first time today and loved it as well.

Yelp
Overly lovely aesthetics. Welcoming, politeand helpful staff. The manager came around interacting with customers and asking about the experience. It was nice to meet the Manager and receive feedback about the menu. My server was David who did a great job serving, making suggestions, and checking in very often, almost too often (but it was appreciated). David stayed on top of things! I ordered appetizers. I enjoyed the kabob skewer appetizer. A good protein offering that I thought was flavorful. The chicken was tender. The shrimp tasted good with simple seasoning that didn't overpower the shrimp taste. The lamb could be improved. The flavor was that of lamb. The downside is that I did think it was a bit too chewy. Gobi Manchurian was as expected and what I'm used to. Very good! The portions of the appetizers were very small I do understand this to be a higher-end Indian restaurant. I overly enjoyed the Limoncello cake on the dessert sampler. Very moist and has the right amount of sweetness. The other dessert items were good acquired tastes but I can not recommend them. I would dine at Azitra again. Overall, great experience.

Yelp
We come here often and have always been so happy with our experience! Azitra has a very nice, upscale interior that is wonderful for date night, or taking out of town visitors. The service is always wonderful as well, last time I got the crab masala which is WONDERFUL! You can adjust the spicyness level as well. I got the cobbler sangria as well which was delicious, I could've had a few more!! Overall, great place with consistently tasty food. Highly recommend!

Yelp
When I first sat down and took a look at the wine list, I was hopeful for a good meal. I ordered samosa as appetizer and per recommendation the sea bass as main plus an order of chili garlic naan. First the good. The sea bass was flavorful even though I asked for 4/5 spice level. It's tangy, buttery. On the opposite were the samosa and naan. The samosa was disappointing. I had better home made They were made too far ahead thus lacks moisture inside. Something got mushed together and fried. Naan was meant to be soft and able to soak up all the flavorful sauce on the plate. Instead, they looked and tasted as reheated naan. They were not spongy, porous, but more like thin crust pizza or pitas (see pictures). So I questioned if they were made to order. Service was okay. I waited for sometime before someone offered to take my order. Btw, the restaurant was not busy, probably at 40% capacity. The decor of the restaurant was pleasant. However, I was disappointed when I visited the men's room. Did they run out of $$$ to close up the hole above the mirror and paint the area properly?

Yelp
Azitra offers possibly the finest Indian cuisine in the Triangle. Favorite entrees are Chicken Tikka Masala, Vindaloo, and Lamb Shank. Best mutton stew I've ever tasted. Service is excellent. Servers know their menu well. Management always stops to offer assistance. Ambiance is an uptown metropolitan. Outdoor seating offers fire pit in table center and umbrellas.

Marissa M.

Yelp
I really enjoyed dining at Azitra. The service was attentive, kind and courteous. The ambiance is modern and upscale and Azitra truly offers a modern Indian cuisine dining experience in Brier Creek. The cocktails are excellent and the menu is unique. There is something for everyone to enjoy from seafood to briyani. My friend and fellow foodie extraordinaire suggested we check the restaurant out for dinner during the week. Upon arrival the restaurant was not crowded and few people were dining or seated at the bar. The staff were very attentive and polished. We were seated at a booth where I really enjoyed the white crocodile faux leather booths. Very posh. Indian food is one of my favorites, I was no stranger to the menu offerings but had a hard time deciding. My friend decided to try a few appetizers and we sampled each others with cocktails. We had the gobi Manchurian cauliflower, Kabob assorted skewers, scallops and garlic naan. We ordered martinis with the bubbles presentation. I ordered the lemon garden with vodka and lycheetini with Gin. Both excellent. Nick our waiter made it special for us with the bubbles gun. Unfortunately a few of the appetizers we had did not blow me away. My favorite being the scallops and garlic naan. The scallops were meaty, juicy and seared to perfection. Well done. For dessert we enjoyed the sampler but our favorite of the trio was the limoncello marscapone cake. Devine. Nick was our waiter and Ashish the Assistant Manager provided excellent service. Always checking in to offer a drink or answer a question. Nick was always willing to make a suggestion about a menu item or offer more to enjoy. I will absolutely be back to enjoy the service, cocktails and celebrate a special occasion. The restaurant is upscale, so you should expect the prices to reflect that. Plan ahead financially.

Yelp
The best Indian food I have eaten in years. Great Service Great Ambiance Great Drinks WOW WOW WOW

Leo T.

Yelp
The presentation and flavors of the food after cocktails was so good that I forgot to take photos after cocktails. Although, not inexpensive, the food (everything we ordered) was excellent. Great service, on top of excellent food makes this restaurant my new "go to" for Indian cuisine in the area.

Marin J.

Yelp
Whoo. Bring a big Wallet. And some iron clad tastebuds because you will feel the heat in both places. The staff is nice and attentive and I assume benefit from the high price tag due to their care for the diners. They definitely pay attention. Sort of white glove service. I do think the quality and quantity of the food has changed slightly. Not for the worst, but not exactly the most outrageously drop dead fantastice either. Each time I visit, I come away wishing for more. But as a regular, we still visit, but a little less due to the cost. Once I mentioned our dining companion, a stone cold, hard regular from years and years and years.... that it was her birthday.... (a big one). It was nice to see they joined in on the celebration. Thanking them for that. I think it is best for the budget to visit during lunch. The outdoor patio is nice, but if you have long legs...due to the design of the tables...lends to some uncomfortable dining.

Yelp
i used to come to azitra years ago, when i was a kid, and order their palak paneer. i never ordered anything else because i was obsessed with their palak paneer. now years later, perusing the rest of their menu, i'm really pleased to see that it's unique among indian restaurants in the area - beyond the butter chicken and paneer makhani, there's some really interesting things on the menu! i ordered the kurkure brussels and vegetable malai tadka with the palak malai kulcha for takeout. everything was absolutely delicious. the chili honey complemented the fried brussels sprouts really well, and everything stayed nice and crispy. i really enjoyed this dish. the malai tadka was also really nice - the combination of the mughlai cream sauce and the tadka worked well. the kulcha was good, too. the only reason i knocked down a star is that the prices are kinda outrageous, so it's not someplace i could go back regularly. for special occasions though, i'd recommend azitra! great food, and from what i saw of the decor, that looked nice as well. :)

Gail T.

Yelp
Went to dinner with some friends. The food is delicious. Be careful with how much spice you think you can take because it can get spicy. The service was fantastic. Our waiter was friendly and attentive. They have a large selection of wines and cocktails to choose from. Great ambiance

Ram D.

Yelp
Appetizers and scotch collection is good. Main course is average, nothing particularly impressive. Lamp chops are the one best thing that I've had in this restaurant

Kayley J.

Yelp
we were absolutely blown away by this experience! the service was excellent and the food was seriously one of the best meals we have ever had. we ordered the crispy brussels sprouts, which were so crisp and flavorful. the chicken biriyani was absolutely packed with flavor and the butter chicken had the most tender melt in your mouth chicken i've ever had! the garlic naan is also incredible. would highly recommend!

Allie P.

Yelp
Fabulous service and great quality food + flavor! Sunny was our server and had the best recommendations. We had: Gobhi Manchurian, Tawa Scallops, Masala Lamb Chops, Butter Chicken, garlic naan and rosemary truffle cheese kulcha YUM

Amara N.

Yelp
Ambiance - 11/10 , gorgeous space with fantastic outdoor area Service- 8/10, nice people, quick seating Food- 2/10, it is edible but not Indian food. They would benefit from a new chef or simply do better to start making the dishes listed on their menu.

Andrea R.

Yelp
I do not like Indian food. Having said this, the food here is amazing! Of particular note are the cocktails with the bubbles on top. I went with an Indian friend who ordered everything. The naan was incredible and so many different ones to try. The scallops, salmon, and lamb were also wonderful. Everything looked so beautiful that I actually took photos. I have no idea why people didn't love this restaurant.

William A.

Yelp
This restaurant has been a family favorite for years and they seem to be getting better. I would definitely recommend Azitra for great Indian.

J B.

Yelp
I ordered take out from here and the food was amazing, the atmosphere seemed really nice inside so I definitely plan on coming back and dinning in next time!

Tim A.

Yelp
had dinner last night with 10 business colleagues. I love Indian cuisine; been eating at Indian restaurants and Indian friends' homes for 30+ years. the food last night was "the" best Indian meal I've ever had. All of my colleagues had the same opinion. the service was A+, the ambience was elegant. the food was 5-stars!! I only wish I lived in the Raleigh area; I would eat here often!! if you're in Raleigh on business, don't eat anywhere else! make plans to eat at Azitra. you will not be disappointed! Tim

Raanan I.

Yelp
Compared to other Chana Masala this one was extraordinarily delicious. The goat chop biryani was also very good and had decent meat portions. I look forward to returning!

Harpreet S.

Yelp
Ambiance is outstanding, location is perfect, service is great but the food is very average. Appetizers were cold and tasted precooked. Main course dishes don't taste like Indian food.

Melissa Z.

Yelp
Amazing spot. 1000/10. A great place for birthdays and dates as well. Great service, great atmosphere, and great food! I love a spot that you can come for a casual dinner or dress up to as well. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a full bar. Everyone got something different and loved every single dish. The butter chicken (one of my favorite Indian dishes) was super creamy & flavorful and perfect with the rice and naan. Never a bad choice and absolutely loved theirs. The lamb chops were the star of the night and everyone who got them loved them. The lobster-crab meljol is one of their best dishes and was recommended to me by everyone, so if you like seafood I'm sure you'll be in love with this dish. This & the crab masala as well. My friend got the limoncello cake and said it was the best cake she had ever tried in her life and that she'd come back solely just for this cake.

Sly G.

Yelp
Great service. Beautiful location and decor. Fantastic food. A bit pricey. I will go back.

Yash V.

Yelp
We were very excited to try this highly rated restaurant. Walking in, we were impressed with the ambiance. Our waiter was also very attentive. Unfortunately, these were the only good qualities of the restaurant. The food left so much to be desired. The appetizers we ordered were the crispy Brussel sprouts, the paneer shashlik, and the chaat of the day. The crispy Brussel sprouts were delicately fried had a balanced flavor. The paneer, however, bland and barely cooked. The "chaat of the day", if you can call it that, was just avocado and corn with tamarind. At first, they forgot to add the corn in this simple 3 ingredient dish. When it finally returned as described, it was clawingly sweet and unseasoned. Unfortunately the least enjoyable dish I've ever tried at a restaurant. Our entrees were the kurkure bhindi and the soya chap. These came with rice. We also ordered a side of papadum, which were a ridiculous $9 and only came with 4 pieces!! The bhindi had good flavor and was well seasoned. The soya chaap was very bland and had a weird smoky after taste. Overall, great ambiance. The owners would do well to hire a new chef to justify the prices listed for truly lackluster food.

BILL H.

Yelp
This is probably one of the best Indian restaurants I've ever eaten in. And I've eaten all over NYC and LA The place is beautiful. The service is fantastic. The wine list is amazing. You can't go wrong with Azitra

Traci L S.

Yelp
We sat outside with our dogs, and it was peaceful with a water fountain running. The food was excellent, and Ashish was an amazing server taking time to answer our questions.

D P.

Yelp
Amazing ambience, food, service and staff! I loved the aesthetic of the place. We sat outside in the evening with the fire pit, lights and music which was lovely. We ordered the shitake leek tikki and paneer vegetable shashlik for appetizers which were delicious. We ordered the kofta anarkali and dal makhani for the main course which was really yummy. We also ordered the desserts which were unique and tasty, and we loved the paan kulfi. Lastly we also had drinks like the coquito, lychee ginger, guava margarita and the wrinkle with thyme which paired perfectly with the dishes. I would definitely recommend this place!!

Michelle T.

Yelp
How have I lived here this long and not made it to Azitra? This place has incredible Indian food!!! The menu is a dream. I cannot wait to try more of their menu. We used Door Dash to grab a date night dinner from here on a busy night and the food was still fresh and hot when we got it! We ordered the corn methi malai and the tandoori chicken tikka. We also grabbed an order of garlic naan because that's basically mandatory since it's delicious af. Everything was absolutely amazing!! The complexity of spicing was spot on and the layers of flavors were so perfect. Excited to eat out in their space when our household goes back to eating out again! For now, so happy to have them available for pickup and delivery!

Bruce G.

Yelp
Azitra is located in Brier Creek and is fancier than other Indian restaurants I have been to. I have heard it isn't "authentic" Indian but that didn't deter me. I had their dish with shrimp, scallops and fish inna tomato and coconut sauce. It was good and pretty spicy. Their naan is good too as is the rice. Azitra is pricier than your average Indian restaurant but if you like fine dining Indian food in a nice atmosphere I say give it a try.

Elmer G.

Yelp
The food lacked the authentic taste of Indian cuisine, with insufficient spice and an unfavorable temperature. However, the ambiance was great, and the service was satisfactory.

Lisa M.

Yelp
Azitra never disappoints for a special occasion, date night, or everyday dining. The restaurant and patio are beautiful and have ample seating. The service is friendly and helpful. The menu is huge with a lot of great vegetarian and non-vegetarian options. They have a great wine list too. Everything I have tried has been tasty, but I especially enjoy the chicken, lamb, and vegetarian dishes. I think anyone is bound to find something they like here. It's my favorite Indian restaurant in the Triangle.

Shruti J.

Yelp
Came here for a work dinner and dined in the patio area, this is a good Indian restaurant. Service was really good! I got the lamb chops and they were on the spicy side! Honestly, I hadn't looked the place up before coming and was pleasantly surprised at how nice it turned out. We also got a mocktail with thyme and fresh strawberries - really refreshing! Enjoyed our dinner and am sure to be back!

Shannon W.

Yelp
We went on opening day of restaurant week and were not disappointed. On top of splitting a 3 course meal, we also got a side of masala sauce with naan. I would say the restaurant is more upscale and charges a bit more than other restaurants in the area but the food was still good, coming fresh and hot out of the kitchen. We were not asked to adjust the spice but it was just the right amount of us! For the 3 course, we got the duck appetizer, and the curry, where both meats were so tender and the flavors were strong. For dessert, they had an ice cream malt sandwich doused with sweet lentils which I love! The portion was a great amount, small but not too heavy. Service was good and food came out super quick. The ambience is nice as well. Despite being a little bit out of our price range, Azitra is a good place to splurge to get a good dining experience and Indian cuisine.

V P.

Yelp
Way overpriced for an average Indian meal. Food and service was ok but nothing extraordinary.

Hari D.

Yelp
For the name and price, this place is an utter disappointment. The taste was confusing as they tried to overdo what could be simple flavor. The chat was mushy with excessive sauce; soy chap was cold like they forgot to grill the marinated refrigerated chap, kabobs nothing looked like kabob in texture. What a waste!! We ordered lamb, chicken lobster curries but none of them looked well prepared in appearance and texture. All kinds of naan were having thick lumpy dough! Rice was good. Eggplant entree was decent. Price for the items are outrageous but could be acceptable if it is for some sorts of culinary marbles. The menu has been made overly complex that the server could not confidently explain what to expect. Not for my taste, so might not risk another visit. Ambience is good but service is not at par for the price.

Aja B.

Yelp
My favorite spot for Indian cuisine! I order the lamb vindaloo because it never disappoints. Be sure to know your level of spice. I ordered a level 3 and had trouble eating it. It was soooo good and soooo spicy! The ambiance is very beautiful and make the perfect spot for a date or some alone time. Don't forget to pair your spicy food with wine! They have a great selection and offer recommendations!

Heather D.

Yelp
This time, me and my boyfriend went for lunch service. Its a geeat deal since it is cheaper and certain lunch entrees comes with a salad or soup. This time we tried one new item. The lamb korma. It was delightfully spiced and creamy from the cashews. A touch of sweetness from caramlized onions. I found my new favorite entree and will be ordering once again. A repeat was the crab masala. The same impeccible service from staff and they set the same linen tablecloths.

Priya K.

Yelp
This is one of the best Indian culinary experiences in Raleigh! Restaurant has a beautiful ambiance indoor and a lovely patio outside showcasing all the amazing herbs they grow and use for cooking. COVID precautions are spot on. We tried their brunch special which I highly recommend! Comes with your choice of mimosa/beer/mango lassi, appetizer, main course with naan and rice and dessert all for $21!! What a steal! For appetizers their gobi manchurian and koyla kabab are out of the world! Very delicious main course our favorite was methi malai kofta, shahi paneer, tal tarka and veg biryani. Desserts are to die for! I have never loved kheer, but theirs is like rabdi, sooo good! Do not miss their kulfi!! Service is fantastic, special thanks for Shreyansh for accommodating our family in the patio despite the rain! In short, you can't go wrong with any dish here! I can't wait to return.

Tiff T.

Yelp
I dined here for dinner and while the food was good, the prices are a tad high. This is a more upscale Indian cuisine restaurant but for what I like (butter chicken) I can find at cheaper restaurants. We ordered butter chicken, tikka masala, an appetizer of Brussel sprouts ($12), and 4 baskets of naan lol. The naan was amazing. The brussels had a kick to them with the addition of the chili honey but it was really good. They do not have traditional soft drinks and other but they options were appealing. My friend asked for a fruit punch and they gave her a pineapple orange ginger mix which we said was good, and another friend said the sweet tea tasted like it had real cane sugar. The ambiance is not casual but the decor was lovely and they have outdoor and bar seating as well.

Trisha S.

Yelp
I would give this place a 3 star mainly because atmosphere and presentation of food was amazing. However the food taste could be more flavorful. They do appear to put effort into their food items. The gulab jamun dessert for instance was beautiful, and they added some accompaniments ie ice cream. However the taste reminds me of a typical gulab jamun, not necessarily unique. I would give this place another try if taking friends out since nice aesthetics, but it may not necessarily be a place I visit regularly.

Trisha L.

Yelp
Absolutely love this place for a fancy date night enjoying delicious Indian food!! They offer a huge wine list and creative cocktail menu. We have been many times and each time the food is amazing.

Garland A.

Yelp
Amazing food and excellent service. You won't go wrong with dining here. The ambiance sets the mood for a quiet evening for two or more. No regrets!

Mark N.

Yelp
Been here 3 times with parties of 6+. Reservations were honored. Food and service were excellent Yes I recommend and would go again every time i am in the area. Thanks

Divya S.

Yelp
I haven't had the pleasure of dining here since...well..covid. We have instead ordered a few takeout meals from here and the food definitely hits the spot. I particularly love the garlic naan- it was still warm when we got home and was super buttery soft. It was the perfect vessel to scoop up the butter chicken. I've also tried their biriyani- while they deliver on spice (I always asked for extra spicy) the mutton biriyani was ok. I found there to be less meat than I expected. We will continue to visit! Hoping to drop in for a dine in experience soon!

Charles P.

Yelp
The ambiance of Azitra has changed. I haven't been there in almost 15 years. It still looks good. The hostesses welcoming and warm. The place was packed and it took a bit longer than normal for our drink order. But, that was okay. Let's get down to the nitty gritty. Azitra is absolutely OVERPRICED! That is evident in the doggone prices for a glass of wine. A three ounce pour for $8? Really? Three ounce pour? Silliness. The dishes that we ordered had great flavor. Again, Azitra is OVERPRICED! All in all, two six ounce glasses of wine, two small main dishes (lamb rogan josh and chicken biriyani) and garlic Naan for $100. For that price, I will stick to my place in Morrisville. Don't get me wrong, the food was good and flavorful, but not that doggone good and flavorful. I pay half that price elsewhere. The last thing that kinda ticked me off was that the server talked too fast and was running around like a chicken with his head cutoff. It made my wife feel as though we were a number and not customers. With all of this, thus the three star rating. I think this will be the last time to Azitra for me.

Rama M.

Yelp
Delicious food. Nice fusion elements. Not a bad place. Not like the posh places in DC. But not a bad place. Probably one of 2-3 good Indian restaurants in RTP which surprisingly has horrible Indian food.

Leo J.

Yelp
Food is excellent as is the ambience, service and general eating out experience. Be warned that some liquor can be quite expensive but prices are not listed so you may be surprised at the end of meal. My Amrut was seventy eight bucks for a single shot and I had no idea till I got the bill. That's a rude shock especially when you are going halfsies with others. Other than that I would highly recommend.

Amanda B.

Yelp
Great food and even better service. Most of all that Water boy tonight was on top of it. There was no time spent with empty glasses. Great Job.

Stephanie B.

Yelp
This was amazingly fabulous. I went with a vegan friend and we both enjoyed everything we ate. We split the chaat and the Kachumber salad. Today's chaat was, according to our server, avocado and corn -- but it was so much more! Bits of cilantro, banana??, mango, jalapeño, onion, all chopped finely and delicious. The Kachumber salad was a weak point, honestly; my favorite Indian restaurant in West Springfield, Mass., makes it better -- these were large chunks of cucumber with a modest bit of coriander and chunks of not-fresh tomatoes. Then came our entrées -- along with rice and the BEST plain naan I've ever had. The naan had clearly been made and cooked quite recently; it was fluffy and had a light ghee flavor. We oohed & aahed over the cumin-infused rice, which might have also been flavored with ghee. My friend had the dal, which looked and tasted amazing (she said; I didn't try it), and I had the goat curry. The goat was falling off the bone, and the curry was very flavorful. Service was good -- perfect for two old friends who were catching up after a long absence. I want to go back and try more appetizers and entrées!!!
