AZUR

"As you make your way through the chic interior, you'll doubtless be drawn to the modern works of art and the views of the Bosphorus. But what really catches the eye is the seafood on display. All that excellent produce is then showcased in a menu that incorporates an exciting array of influences from Turkish, Mediterranean and South American cuisines. After ceviche or taco, the main course is a choice of fish from the plancha, paella or pasta. The servers will be happy to give you a few pointers, so that you can fully enjoy this culinary adventure." - Michelin Inspector

Romantic dining with views of the Bosphorus. The water and the Asian side of Istanbul brought to mind looking at Sausalito from Tiburon. While the beautiful location and house bread with butter stood out, the food felt more like a veneer of fancy rather than anything truly memorable, as did the cocktails. The overall dining experience wasn’t quite our vibe—we prefer something a little more laid-back, but I will note the music was enjoyable. Still, it’s a nice choice if you’re into upscale dining with a nice setting.

The place has amazing views, beautiful decor and really good ambiance. It has a DJ who played good music. The staff are nice and helpful, but not as professional as they should be for such fine dining restaurant, the manager was very friendly and seemed genuine. The food is below average and the price is not justified, it didn't have seasonings and lacks life all together. There wasn't a lot of fish choice, either very big fish or not very nice blue fish, which we didn't finish. I am very disappointed with the food, only given 3 stars for the atmosphere.

Getting into Michelin Guide is quite remarkable yet, when you don't have the same "finesse" in service, the whole experience is let down... A Michelin Guide restaurant of this calibre is expected to have a service team that matches the quality coming from the kitchen. Unfortunately, the service was full of flaws and it was clear the team lacked proper training, experience and leadership. In our 2-hour experience, at least 10-12 service mistakes were made and the lack of a floor leader (restaurant mgr/ supervisor) was so clear - noone had an eye on the servers and the guests during the service. The language used by staff towards the guests and between themselves (one server shouting as "yavrum" from a distance to another server) felt more casual diner than fine dining. A real pity, because the food shows promise — but without a serious investment in service standards, the experience falls short of what one expects at this level.

It’s a very quality, classy, cozy restaurant, has a nice atmosphere, next to the sea! Been there many times, food has a different taste with other tyrkish sea food restaurant! Not a typical one! Presentation is good, very tasty, so fresh ! U can find all types of sea food! Oysters do nice, it’s really difficult to find in Istanbul ! Good service! Very polite. One of my favorite sea food restaurant! At weekends dj playing.

Azur has been one of our favorite restaurants in town since it opened in the beautiful, quaint neighborhood of Yeniköy. The restaurant has recently elevated its menu (more of an international fine-dining menu now) and has entered the Michelin recommendation list for the city. The new menu is simply delicious and very refined, with lots of Peruvian and Japanese inspired dishes, as well as delicious Mediterranean style dishes. They continue to serve the best grilled fish and seafood, of course. I highly recommend the restaurant to visitors in the city. It is really worth a visit, for a delicious meal in a cosy but also posh, clubby environment. Upstairs is Percy, a new lounge/club with DJ, also run by Azur, in case you want to stay on for some drinks and good music …

Our car got damaged because of the shitty valet parking. Food isn’t up to par, the food was very good a while ago but it’s lacking right now. The service? If you sit outside, you aren’t going to get good service. You can’t find servers to request something.

Azur completely redefined my idea of a standout seafood dinner. I was there for a business meeting and everyone seemed genuinely impressed. Their seafood carpaccios were light yet packed with flavor, and the seasonal fish came perfectly cooked. It’s one of those places where you can unwind with great company and walk away feeling like you’ve had a true culinary journey. Easily one of Istanbul’s best for seafood.

Yelp
Those who know Istanbul and its fame for its 'Balikcis' or also known as fish restaurants, know that they ALL serve the same food. Don't get me wrong - I love a good Balikci with their Mezes - but sometimes it's hard to tell the difference if all of them taste exactly the same. And here comes Azur. A group that has taken the term of fish restaurant, but upgraded it so much, it just has a WOW factor. You enter the beautiful teal building in Yeniköy and immediately walk past the counter with the cold starters, but again, not anything like the classic fish restaurant. Artichokes in different sauces, instead of the classic "Lakerda" an array of different smoked and cured fish, avocado and shrimp, all the shellfish you can wish for from shrimp, to langoustines, to of course Lobster and Oysters. The decoration is seriously amazing. Like a beautiful Yali that has been tastefully decorated by an experienced interior designer. Nothing over the top, but very classy and super chic. So, overall it is a great experience really. Good for date nights (my husband and I love going here), but also for groups and especially if you have foreign guests. Take them here!! The prices are a little steep, of course, but I suppose thats normal. The good thing is - and this is the tip - there are two menus. The menu that the ladies get don't show prices (unless you're on a Girls Night Out I guess) and the gents get the menu with the prices. A nice touch!
