B. Cafe

I was to meet a friend for brunch at another location. However, the wait was too long. So we started walking and found this location. We looked at the menu outside, and it was what we were looking for. They have indoor and outdoor seating. The decor of the location is beautiful, wished the service was as beautiful. We waited 20 minutes for a menu, and they only provided one. We had to ask the couple on the next table if we used theirs. We ordered our drinks, and it took 20 minutes to get. When they arrived with my friend food order, they had forgotten what my order was. Had to wait for my food, and my friend wanted to split her food with me becauseof the long wait. When the order arrived, it was wrong. It is a shame that the service does not reflect the space. Ownership should be looking into what is not working.

Atmosphere was gorgeous. We sat in the outdoor beer garden which was absolutely perfect. Selection of Belgian Beers was very nice. Nothing unique, but none of the top dogs were missing. Food was fine. The Chicken Stew Waffle was a nice waffle and a fine stew, but served on top ahead of time meant the stew thoroughly soaked through the waffle and made the classic "light crispy" more "soft and mushy".

Cafe has an extensive and impressive Belgium Beer selection- all of the drafts are served in their original glass which really makes the experience! Not only is the beer is amazing but the food! A small intimate reztauramt in the winter, it boasts a nice outdoor eatery when weather permits, its food is out of this world! Totally European and truly Belgian: both sophisticated and satsfying to the taste and to the aesthetics of a gourmet cuisine. Its dishes from its signature Carbonnade flamamde to the mussels, its coquis saint jacques to refreshing salads they all excel. I love Belgian food and they know how to cook it. I had wine and had beer another time I had gone there (both excellent). I finished with a creme brulee that had an orange aroma that accompanied my coffee very well. I fully recommend it.

I love this place - it has all the qualities of a perfect restaurant without all of the crowds, over-priced food and over-hype. The food is DELICIOUS and well priced. The space is beautiful, especially the backyard, and they have a nice outdoor seating area out front. Beautiful bar area. And we’re always able to get a reservation, even for Mother’s Day, on which I was nervous about finding a table since so many places book out. The staff here is also always friendly and accommodating. This has to be one of the most underrated restaurants on the UES.

Loved our dining experience here! Everyone was so friendly. The covered back patio seating was heated and had a romantic, European feel. Their warm pretzel is my favorite in the city! It’s soft and salted to perfection, and the cheese sauce is bomb. Not sure whether to dunk my pretzel in it or bathe in it 🤤 The brussel sprouts were a hit — the right amount of crispiness and a good hint of maple. The mocktails were a really nice compliment to the meal. Try the caper mayo with your fries (fries come with most entrées). It’s the closest thing I’ve had to fry sauce on the east coast and it’s amazing. The fries here are really stellar! The Chicken Vol Au Vent is like a chicken pot pie but disassembled — warm & creamy with tender chicken. We loved it! The B. Café Waffle was light, crunchy, and the perfect sweet ending to an incredible meal.

Nice and cozy place to get a perfect brunch on weekends! Nice music, nice service and great food. I used to go often when living in the area and just came back few weeks ago and thank god nothing has changed!!! Absolutely recommended the Croque monsier…coffee and cocktails are good too!!! Enjoy

Very tasty brunch, a few vegie options. Nice atmosphere. Somewhat slow service but that's forgivable considering the grat food! They have a lovely back yard too!
