"Located in a restored 100-year-old mansion in the heart of the city, Baan Suriyasai evokes early 20C Thai elegance with time-tested dishes and old-world hospitality. The menu is drawn from royal recipes from the Rama V era and bygone family favourites, including the five-spice stew with boiled eggs, and the stir-fried crispy pork belly, fish flakes and dried shrimp with seasoned paste. Head to the classic Thai cocktail bar upstairs for an after-dinner drink." - Michelin Inspector

Michelin’s Guide to Cooling Down in the City

"A beautiful colonial setting in the middle of bustling Bangkok, with a Victorian interior, fresh grounds and a gated-community feel that lets me escape both the sun and the busyness of Silom. The upstairs Content Bar invites lingering in leather chairs with a rum-based cocktail infused with lime and lemongrass. For those craving classic cooking with a historical twist inspired by Siam in bygone days, the kitchen delivers, and the creamy coconut ice cream with refreshing, flavourful mango never disappoints." - Niki Chatikavanij

The Taste of Thai Heritage

"Channeling ancient Thai culture, the Koon Suek (“warrior”) cocktail combines the quality of Mekhong Thai spirit with lemongrass and sweet basil for a spicy kick; loved vanilla and caramel notes mingle with undertones of cardamom, clove, galangal, and ginger, while red wine lends a fierce reddish hue and garnishes of lemongrass and a flower garland symbolize swords, spears, and auspicious keepsakes. The stunning Victorian colonial interior of this 100-year-old building sets the stage for rare royal recipes, from a refreshing starter of watermelon with toasted fish flakes to the house-signature five spice stew with a medium boiled egg, with private rooms accommodating groups of up to 25." - Ma Zai Li

We dined like royals at Baan Suriyasai, where we indulged in the warmth and charm of old world Thai-style hospitality within the compounds of an elegantly restored 1900-era heritage site. Known for presenting authentic Thai flavors adhering to the kitchen wisdom long practised in the Thai royal court, Baan Suriyasai is a beautiful and magnificent experience to enjoy. Our meal comprised the exquisite and time-honoured Pomelo Salad with River Prawns, Sour Soup with Crispy Shrimp, and Crab Omelette, accompanied by Riceberry. The salty, sour and umami flavours danced on our tongues, enhanced with sweet watermelon and tangy lemongrass mocktails. This was unforgettably one of our favourite dining venues of our time in Thailand. 👑👩🏻‍🤝‍👨🏼🍽️

Small with understated elegance, this place is expensive $100/p for 4 dishes, no alcohol, but absolutely delicious. Flavors are subtle and refined and original. Ingredients excellent. I agree with another that heavily accented waitresses could have spoken better English, and sometimes disappeared, but everything recommended was great. I tried 4 things and was too full to finish. River shrimp incredible, appetizer with leaves incredible. Best meal by far in Thailand. Highly recommended for taste and experience. Deserving of a Michelin rating

If you are looking for the ultimate Thai dining experience that truly maintains the traditional and authentic flavors, I highly recommend this restaurant! The taste of the food here is unparalleled and hard to match. It truly reflects the meticulous care taken in the cooking process. Every dish we ordered was deeply delicious and full of the unique character of classic Thai cuisine. While the price point is high, it is absolutely commensurate with the quality of ingredients and the excellent service received. The staff were very attentive, polite, and provided superb care. For anyone who desires to taste "truly authentic Thai food" coupled with outstanding service and an impressive atmosphere, this restaurant is the ultimate choice you should not miss!

In a word: WOW. This restaurant delivered in every way. It was a meal shared between four friends, each ordered a different dish and we shared. All were absolutely worthy of the multi-year Michelin star. The standouts (among a table of standouts) were the rendang beef curry, the fried spring rolls, and the blue ruby ice desert. Cost per person for our group, 4, with alcoholic drinks, appetizers, mains, and 2 deserts: US $50/each. Totally worth it. Service was helpful, kind and efficient. The space is gorgeous and makes you feel you’re someplace quite special (because you are). Only item that could be improved is dimming rhthe lights for a more relaxing ambiance. We will return.

Good authentic Thai food (nothing too fascinated), with a little milder taste than usual. Classical Thai ambience. But, service is kind of rude. Our waiter has quite bad attitude regarding number of dishes we order. (We are a group of 7. we ordered 2 sets of premium sharing sets for 3 with total of 14 dharing dishes and ordered a few extra desserts, but was (rudely) asked to ordered few more a la carte dishes, when we couldn't even finish the food in the set we ordered.
